Diese Aktie wird durch die Decke gehen!!!
      Warum???

US$.

      Oel mal ganz allgemein:

Business Commentary: `SLOW CHECK FROM CHINA` AWAITS UNWARY INVESTORS
      by Joe Shea
      American Reporter Correspondent

BRADENTON, Fla., March 10, 2004 -- The old phrase "a slow boat to China" may soon
compete with a new one: "A slow check from China."
The country`s laggard pace of business is
endangering billions of dollars and countless investors. Some have seen their stocks nosedive because
China has failed to perform as promised on an investment.
Once-eager investors in the allegedly booming Chinese economy may find that the country`s
state-owned businesses are eager to strike a deal but slow to keep it, and especially slow to
pay foreign companies in dollars. And in at least one case, Chinese demanded that a company purchase $50
million in Mongolian bonds - whose real value is unknown - as the price of doing business. That - along with a huge balance of trade deficit and the loss of tens of thousands of American jobs to cheap Chinese labor - is the downside of the rush to trade with China. The upside has yet to reveal itself.
I know what I`m talking about. Last year, I began investing in a small Canadian oil and gas exploration
company whose owner had some very notable successes with ore. He had solid ties - or so they seemed - to
Chinese leaders and was able to get his foot in the door of their nascent oil industry. He parlayed his contacts
into a deal with the Chinese state-owned CITIC holding company under which both parties would fund an energy
exploration venture called Sunwing whose shares would be listed on the Hong Kong Exchange.
Sunwing had a great name, but no cash until it was funded by the two sides. China`s share was $20 million,
and Ivanhoe Energy Co. (IVAN on the OTC BB and IE on the Toronto Exchange) had to put up an equal amount. The
company had drilling projects in what as know as the Yudong block that required immediate day-to-day funding.
When the dough started to flow, it would go into British Virgin Islands company, which would isue 100 shares and disburse the revenues 70 percent to Ivanhoe and 30 percent to China. China can relinquish its shares in the new company to Sunwing in exchange for Sunwing shares, and Ivanhoe can require CITIC to transfer its Sunwing holdings to Ivanhoe in exchange for a 20 percent share in Sunwing.
In the Sept. 26, 2002, agreement with Ivanhoe that set up Sunwing, China warranted that it "has the necessary corporate capacity and authority to execute and deliver this Agreement and to observe and perform its covenants and obligations hereunder..." The "authority," though, is now in disarray.
The Chinese check was to come, Ivanhoe told investors based on Chinese commitments, "by the end of
December." It didn`t arrive. The stock, which had been going up at a pretty good pace, started to slip. Then a company spokesman told the American Reporter in early February that the check would be in hand by the end of February.
Investors began to notice, and the sharks caled "bashers" that inhabit the Yahoo and Raging Bull
investor boards started amplifying the panic. Down the stock went, wiping out hundreds of millions in market
capitalization and forcing Ivanhoe Energy to private placements to raise funds to keep their enterprise going.
On top of that, the chief tout for the stock, a CBS Marketwatch writer named Thom Calandra, was forced to resign after he reported getting free trips to China from the company (and then Editor & Publisher gave his editor their top journalism award, the Eppie).
It is a matter of some encouragement that one of the big investors in IVAN is headed by John E. Robson, the
former deputy secretary of the Treasury who also headed the Resolution Trust Corp. when S&L`s were going
belly-up. I am inclined to trust his judgment, even if he does live in San Francisco.
Robson`s venture fund bought 6,600,000 shares in a deal that closed in February, and since then they have
bought a couple million more. The company has bright prospects - but its investors, especially those who may have purchased IVAN on margin - have lost their pants.
The problems with the check had political origins. When a natural gas explosion wiped out a village and killed hundreds of people in late December, the Politburo officially blamed the management of CITIC.
Naturally, in a state-driven economy like China`s, heads began to roll. There may have been no one around to approve and sign the check due Ivanhoe Energy. Now, the Vancouver-based fiorm says it is expected the check "when it is approved by China."
Not only is Ivanhoe $20.9 million in debt, at least in the form of equities, but here it is mid-March and they still haven`t received their $20 million from China. And some suspect that among the purchasers of large blocks in recent weeks have been - guess who? - Chinese state-sponsored investors who want to be able to control a company they are driving towards bankruptcy.
For those who invest in companies like Ivanhoe Energy, it`s important to remember that dealing with China
is dealing with a huge bureaucratic apparatus that can pass the buck until the cows come home. Ironically, John
Robson spoke about these challenges in 1999 before the US Trade Deficit Review Commission.
"Hands off!" he said. "Follow Mao`s advice and let 1,000 flowers bloom. We`re doing just fine without
government in the executive suite, the boardroom, or venture capital firms."
Too bad for Ivanhoe investors that
one oil company didn`t heed those words. Now Robson`s preaching to the choir - and he owns it.

BAKERSFIELD, CA, April 21 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- David Martin, Chairman of Ivanhoe Energy, is pleased to provide the company``s production forecast for 2004. As announced on March 29th, Ivanhoe is planning to drill up to 65 wells in 2004. This program is expected to deliver estimated production rates, net before royalties, of between 3,400 and 4,400 BOEPD (barrels oil equivalent per day) by the end of 2004, a significant increase over the company``s 2003 year- end production of 1,035 BOEPD.

The two principal areas of exploration and development this year are in China and California, where Ivanhoe holds working interests from 40% to 100%.

"The 2004 program demonstrates our commitment to add oil and gas reserves through the drilling of low-risk development wells and through selected exploration opportunities that increase our daily production of oil and gas, generate recurring cash flow and add value to the company," said Mr. Martin. "The 2004 drilling program is part of a multi-year effort to grow the company through development of its existing resource base. The company plans an ongoing drilling and capital program in 2005 that is expected to further increase production, reserves and cashflow."

In addition to growth through drilling existing resources, the company may pursue opportunities to enhance value through partnerships, exchanges and acquisitions, or disposals of assets that may increase or decrease its forecast of year-end production. The 2004 production forecast involves risks and uncertainties and no assurance can be given that actual results will be consistent with these forecasts.

      wer´s glaubt

VANCOUVER, July 8 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- David R. Martin, Chairman of Ivanhoe Energy , announced today the latest developments on its oil and gas production and drilling activities in China.

Highlights include: - Three new wells have been brought into production as part of the current Dagang development drilling program, which is making good progress and remains on schedule to attain a production target of 2,500 barrels of oil per day by the end of 2004. - Oil production from the Dagang Oil Project was sold at an average price of US$33.08 per barrel during June. - Extensive seismic work has been completed in preparation for an initial drilling program to begin this year on the Zitong Gas Project in the gas-rich Sichuan Basin. Dagang Oil Project ------------------

Ivanhoe Energy``s wholly-owned subsidiary, Sunwing Energy, has drilled seven new wells since it commenced its development program in December, 2003. Three of the seven new wells now are producing, one is under completion and production testing and three are being completed. The company now has three drilling rigs under contract. Current production from the project is approximately 900 barrels of oil per day (bopd). The development program is on schedule for a year-end 2004 production target of 2,500 bopd.

Sunwing``s June oil production was sold at an average price of US$33.08 a barrel. Oil sales are in U.S. dollars and paid directly into a North American bank account. State of the art drilling and completion techniques and equipment modernization have reduced capital and operating costs.

The Dagang Project, located approximately 125 miles south east of Beijing, is being developed under a 30-year production-sharing contract with PetroChina Company Limited. It covers an area of 22,400 gross acres divided into six blocks in the Kongnan oilfield in Dagang. Total development of the Dagang Project is expected to result in up to 115 new wells being drilled and 28 existing wells being recompleted over the next three years.

Under terms of the contract with PetroChina, Ivanhoe and its new joint venture partner, China International Trust & Investment Corporation (CITIC), will develop the project and fund 100% of the development costs to earn 82% of the net revenue from oil production until achieving full investment and operating cost recovery, after which the entitlement reverts to 49% for the duration of the contract period.

The company is pleased to have CITIC, a major global enterprise owned by the government of China, as a 40% joint venture partner on the Dagang Oil Project. CITIC is working closely with Ivanhoe Energy in active discussions with leading European and Chinese lenders to arrange project financing of between US$100 and US$120 million to cover the remainder of the estimated investment required to fully develop the Dagang project.

      Zitong Gas Project ------------------

In Sichuan, Sunwing holds a 100% working interest in the 880,000-acre in the Zitong Gas Exploration and Development Block. PetroChina has drilled a number of gas discoveries on the block that have tested gas at rates varying between 1 mmscf/d and 32 mmscf/d.

Sunwing now has completed reprocessing the 2,500 kilometres of previously shot 2-D seismic and has completed an additional 870 kilometres of new 2-D seismic. The seismic work was designed to delineate additional prospects that will be targeted in an initial two-well drilling program. The data from the reprocessed lines and new lines now are being integrated into new prospect maps for the block. The prospects are targeting potential deposits of gas that may be contained within formations from 5,000 feet and deeper.

Drilling operations are expected to commence in the fourth quarter of 2004, to be followed by a second well in 2005.

The Sichuan Basin is one of the major gas-producing basins in China. Gas demand from power and industrial users has grown during the past two years to more than 900,000mmcf/d and now outstrips supply. There is a gas pipeline within the Zitong Block that connects the area to an extensive provincial gas pipeline, allowing gas to be shipped to end users throughout the province and to industrial complexes located in the Chongqing Municipal District.

A new pipeline also is being built to export gas from the basin to industrial centres in Hunan Province. The pipeline``s initial capacity of 380,000 mmcf/d is fully subscribed through take-or-pay contracts. Current wellhead gas prices in the Sichuan Basin range from approximately US$2.00 to US$3.00/mcf and are rising.

Ivanhoe, as operator, reports that 13,000 barrels of steam were injected into the reservoir from late April through the end of May, 2004, using the existing horizontal production well, Derek 1-P. Approximately 70% of the steam has been recovered to date and oil cuts are beginning to improve as anticipated. The oil is high-quality 19-degree API gravity, and contains high levels of naphtha. Plans are underway to commence a second steam cycle in late July, 2004, using a larger quantity of steam at a higher pressure to further stimulate oil production. The Wyoming Oil and Gas Conservation Commission has approved the higher surface injection pressure for the second cycle.

Extensive fibre optic monitoring will continue to be utilized in modelling the productivity and thermal performance of the producing well as a prelude to the drilling of five vertical steam injection holes that are expected to further enhance oil production.

Ivanhoe also reported today that progress continues with the planned ultra-high resolution 3D seismic survey scheduled for the last quarter of 2004. The survey is designed to provide the necessary detail for targeting future horizontal well development at LAK Ranch, where two independent engineering reports have confirmed the potential for the project to contain at least 100 million barrels of "oil-in-place."

After completion of the 3D seismic survey, Ivanhoe, as operator, plans to drill additional delineation wells to prove up oil-in-place reserves and commerciality of a full steam injection (SAGD) project.

Following completion of the pilot phase, the development program is scheduled to include additional horizontal producing wells, new steam injection and the extension of surface facilities. Ivanhoe has estimated that, at the low end of the recovery range, the initial development program could grow to more than 20 producing wells and production volumes in excess of 4,500 barrels a day. As more acreage is identified through further development, optimum daily production rates could increase to 10,000 barrels a day. Should Ivanhoe elect not to proceed beyond the pilot phase, its working interest will be reduced to 15% and Derek will become operator.

Ivanhoe Energy trades on the NASDAQ SmallCap market with the ticker symbol IVAN and on the Toronto Stock Exchange with the symbol IE. Derek Oil and Gas trades on the TSX Venture Exchange with the ticker symbol DRK and on the U.S. over-the-counter market with the ticker symbol DRKOF.

      Supplemental Information

A horizontal well, with a lateral extension of 1,500 feet, is expected to cost approximately $600,000 and steam injection wells are expected to cost $60,000. Colorado-based Surtek, a reservoir-engineering firm specializing in enhanced recovery applications, and Petrotech Engineering Ltd. of Burnaby, British Columbia, have provided the independent oil-in-place estimates for the LAK Ranch field. The Petrotech report uses the definition of reserves category from the Canadian Oil and Gas Evaluation Handbook and conforms to National Instrument NI 51-101 (Standards of Disclosure for Oil & Gas Activities). See Derek`s May 5, 2004, news release for further details on the Petrotech evaluation. Naphtha is a lighter fraction of crude oil and is used in the blending of jet fuel by the local refinery.

Ivanhoe Energy signs agreement with Iraq Ministry of Oil to evaluate Qaiyarah Oil Field
BAKERSFIELD, CALIFORNIA -- Ivanhoe Energy (Middle East) Inc., a subsidiary of Ivanhoe Energy Inc. (NASDAQ: IVAN and TSX: IE), and the Ministry of Oil of the Government of Iraq have signed a memorandum of understanding (MOU) for Ivanhoe to study and evaluate the shallow Qaiyarah Oil Field in northern Iraq. The field`s reservoirs contain a large proven accumulation of 17.1o API heavy oil at a depth of about 1,000 feet.

Ivanhoe will evaluate the potential response of the Qaiyarah Field to the latest in Enhanced Oil Recovery (EOR) techniques, along with the potential value that could be added using Ensyn Petroleum International Ltd.`s heavy-to-light (HTL) oil RTP(tm) conversion technology to produce higher quality, more valuable crude oil. Ivanhoe has the exclusive rights to use Ensyn`s technology in Iraq. The work will include an assessment of the oil-in-place in the reservoirs, and the optimum EOR/HTL methods to establish economically recoverable reserves at Qaiyarah.

Ivanhoe President and CEO Leon Daniel said the company expects to complete the study within a few months of receiving the required data from the Iraq Ministry of Oil. "The Qaiyarah Field holds significant potential and may be an excellent candidate for the application of the Ensyn HTL oil technology," he said. "We are very pleased that the Government of Iraq has given Ivanhoe this key role in evaluating the reservoir at Qaiyarah."
If the evaluation studies indicate development of the field is economically viable, Ivanhoe will present a development plan and offer a commercial proposal to implement an enhanced oil recovery program for Qaiyarah. The Ministry of Oil is under no obligation to execute the project or to enter into formal commercial negotiations at the completion of Ivanhoe`s study.
Ivanhoe Energy trades on the NASDAQ SmallCap market with the ticker symbol IVAN and on the Toronto Stock Exchange with the symbol IE.
