Antwort auf Beitrag Nr.: 23.483.831 von meinolf67 am 17.08.06 16:19:27Sun shines on REC
Norwegian solar energy group Renewable Energy Corp. (REC) said that second-quarter core earnings almost tripled, beating market expectations, and said it was well placed for growth.
Earnings before interest, tax, depreciation and amortization (EBITDA) rose to NOK 387 million (USD 62.76 million) in the three months to June 30 from NOK 131 million in the same period a year earlier, the company said on Friday.
"Photovoltaic power has the potential of becoming the most viable alternative power source to fill the world's long-term energy needs," said REC, one of the world's biggest solar power companies.
All three divisions — silicon, wafer and solar — beat expectations. REC is one of the world's largest producers of solar grade silicon and wafers for solar applications. The company also produces solar cells and modules.
Group revenue rose to NOK 1.00 billion from 474 million a year ago and beat analysts' average forecast of 883 million.
REC was floated on the Oslo bourse in early May in Norway's biggest initial public offering since the floating of oil and gas group Statoil in 2001.

@DeadKennedy:
