Silver Lake Resources Limited (ASX: SLR) has highlighted the prospectively of their Murchison Project (which adjoins the North Tuckabianna Project to the south and west) for copper and base metals in a VMS-type setting (see SLR: ASX releases of 27/6/2011, 7/9/2011, 21/9/2011 and 24/10/2011).

In view of recent exploration results from Silver Lake Resources (see above), further work by Cullen for base metals will focus primarily on both the possible extension of the Hollandaire VMS-style copper mineralization into its ground, and along strike from Silver Lake’s other targets at the Colonel and Mount Eelya gossans.

Mt Stuart Iron Ore Joint Venture (Cullen 30%, API 70%)

The Mt Stuart Iron Ore Joint Venture comprises Australian Premium Iron Management Pty Ltd (API) 70% and Managers, and Cullen Resources Limited, 30% and contributing. API is a JV between Aquila Resources Limited (50%), and AMCI Holdings Pty Ltd (50%). These two entities are both substantial shareholders in Cullen. The Joint Venture is part of API's substantial tenement interests in the West Pilbara, including a joint venture with Red Hill Iron Limited, which forms a large, contiguous land package with significant resources of Channel Iron Deposits (CID's) already defined (Maiden Reserve 445Mt@ 57.05% Fe).

On 16 May 2007, the West Pilbara - Mt Stuart Joint Venture announced to the ASX an initial Resource Estimate for its Catho Well Channel Iron Deposit (CID) of 68Mt @ 55.38% Fe. The Catho Well CID is one of nine separate iron resources in the West Pilbara Region; centred approximately 50 kilometres southwest of Pannawonica, in which API has an interest.

On 7 March 2008, the API JV announced an updated Resource Estimate for Catho Well of 79.5Mt @ 55.34% Fe. Positives of the Catho Well Resource are the relatively low average phosphorous levels at Catho Well (0.037%) and average alumina levels of 3.06%. There may be the opportunity to blend this resource with others in the project area to satisfy potential product specifications.

On the 14th Decemeber 2010, Cullen announced a Maiden JORC Ore Reserve Estimate for the Catho Well CID of 70 Mt at 54.8% Fe of Proven and Probable Reserves.

Subject to the completion of a “mine gate” sale agreement with the Australian Premium Iron Joint Venture (APIJV), this material will contribute to the main, blended product stream maintaining an average 57.2% Fe throughout the proposed 15 year mine life of the West Pilbara Iron Ore Project - Stage 1 mining operations.

Cullen’s ownership in this scenario equates to production of ~1.4 Mt of iron ore per annum for a period of 15 years.

...Fortescue completed a programme of 26 RC holes for a total of 2150m. No assays have been received to date.


CANNING BASIN JV
...Advaita plans to complete a follow-up drilling programme focused on these coal intersections in the coming field season.


MILLUNGERA, AND GALILEE BASINS
Planning for field activities in the 2012 season is in progress with reconnaissance drilling to commence as soon as possible following grant of the EPCs.


NAMIBIA – Coal
...but little regional exploration has been undertaken on the western margin of the basin, as far as Cullen’s investigations to date reveal. Cullen has generated these projects on the basis of the known good prospectivity of the Karoo Basin for coal in general, and the unexplored nature of these applications areas. The applications are expected to be processed in the first half of 2012.


CANADA, TL Property – Base Metals
...Cullen is planning to undertake a reconnaissance drilling programme targeting the main TL gossanous zones exposed in the Trenches, and field sampling and mapping programme are also planned to further investigate the other EM anomalies delineated including the large E-W feature.


MURCHISON, W.A. – Gold and Base Metals
...The EM survey is planned to be completed in the current Quarter with Targets delineated to be drilled as soon as possible therafter.


NAMIBIA – Copper and REEs
...A field review of newly-identified targets and rapid assessment by geochemistry and/or stratigraphic drilling will now commence.


ASHBURTON, W.A. - Gold
..Northern Star has completed a 50m line spacing aeromagnetic/radiometric survey with interpretation of data in progress. A target ranking exercise now underway will determine the priority of future exploration.


SALTWATER POOL JV
...Samples from the Monster Prospect are from a complex, brecciated quartz vein system and were collected from a small area over various parts of the veins, where further exploration, including drilling, is planned for 2012.


NORTH EASTERN GOLDFIELDS, W.A

Cullen Resources expands position in emerging gold province in northern Finland

Cullen Resources (ASX: CUL) is targeting an expansion to its landholding in northern Finland after filing applications for eight additional tenements.

The company now has applications in progress for 750 square kilometres of land in the region.

The applications cover the Proterozoic greenstone belt rocks, host to Canada-based gold producer Agnico-Eagle’s (TSX: AEM, NYSE: AEM) 5 million ounce Kittila gold deposit.

The greenstone belt rocks also run through Mawson Resources’ Rompas prospect, which has delivered bonanza gold grades in surface channel samples including 0.3 metres at 1,866 grams per tonne (g/t) gold and 8% uranium and 0.26 metres at 1,510g/t gold and 3.95 % uranium.

In late 2010, Cullen began exploring the Kuusamo greenstone belt in far north eastern Finland in an area along strike, and close to, Dragon Mining’s (ASX: DRA) 1.95 million tonne at 4.9g/t Juomasuo deposit.

For Dragon, its project area in the Kuusamo greenstone belt has delivered total Resources of 3.4 million tonnes at 4.2g/t for 460,700 ounces of gold.

Historical, bonanza grade drill intersections at Juomasuo include 57.3 metres at 62.56g/t gold and 5.3 metres at 206.85g/t gold.

Cullen completed a biogeochemical survey of its tenure surrounding Juomasuo in 2011 and has identified geochemical anomalies and trends both north and south of the deposit.

The company has made two exploration licence applications and one claim reservation application to cover the anomalies it has identified, where it will progress exploration in 2012.

Cullen Resources: Graphite prospectivity at TL the target of exploration

Cullen Resources (ASX: CUL) is well positioned to follow up on graphite prospectivity within the TL Property in Canada, amid ongoing base metal exploration.

An exploration program is planned for the current field season to follow up on sulphide and graphite zones at TL, and will comprise mapping, sampling and diamond drilling.

Trenching carried out at TL in 2011 has exposed graphite-bearing schists and graphitic-sulphidic masses, which include coarse-grained “flake” graphite.

The trenching program also returned base metal mineralisation, with up to 3 metres at 8.98% zinc from channel samples, along with highly anomalous molybdenum and rhenium and anomalous copper, bismuth, nickel, tin and tungsten.

A helicopter borne electromagnetic survey has identified a strong 6 kilometre long conductor beyond the trench site.

Given that graphite is known to be highly conductive and is a common source of airborne electromagnetic anomalies, this could represent a mixed sulphide/graphite bearing rock unit.

Cullen Resources is earning up to an 80% interest in the TL Project, which is located in southeast British Columbia.

The company also intends to review opportunities for graphite exploration in its regions of activity, with the potential to expand its portfolio.

Ja habe CUL schon länger auf Beobachtung finde auch hier könnte sich was entwickeln wird aber schon 18-24 Monate dauern.

nunmal akt. nur an AUS- börse zu finden sind.

RXL's "Camelwood discovery" is about 4 klm south of CUL's boundry.

What is exciting is that RXL's very large VTEM anomaly aptly named "Silverbark" crosses over into CUL's ground, this is yet to be drilled tested by RXL. When they do and if RXL are lucky enough to intersect sulphide mineralization CUL will fly without doing anything.

Have a closer look at diagrams in CUL's recent presentation.

der vergangenen 3 monate..........




daraus verdeutlicht sich, daß bei CUL erhebliches nachhol- potential
besteht.......spät. nach bekanntgabe erster pos. bohrungen.

kann mir aber auch gut vorstellen, daß sich so mancher RXL- investor zurückzieht,

PLACEMENT RAISES $2.2 MILLION

Cullen Resources Limited (Cullen) is pleased to announce it has completed a capital raising of $2.2M (before expenses) by a placement of securities to sophisticated and professional Section 708 investors.

These investors have subscribed for 100 million fully paid ordinary shares in Cullen at 2.2 cents per share. This represents approximately 13.9% of the issued capital of the Company.

Bell Potter Securities Limited managed the placement. Funds raised will be applied to the following key projects and provide working capital.

Cullen’s immediate focus is nickel exploration of its wholly-owned Mt Eureka Project. Exploration will commence with completion of a helicopter-borne VTEM
survey targeting the strike extent of ultramafic units which host the newly-discovered Camelwood nickel sulphide deposit (by Rox Resources Limited)

Hi,

etwas positives das ich daran sehe: Cullen kann noch immer Geld auftreiben.
Allerdings halte ich mich weiter zurück: der kumulierte Verlust steht bei ca. 35 Mio ....bei 800.000.000 Aktien.

Die 2,2 Mio reichen vlt. für 6 bis 12 Monate.

Cullen Resources (ASX: CUL) has uncovered a conductive zone within its Mt Eureka Project that appears to be a continuation of the same conductor that hosts Rox Resources’ (ASX: RXL) Camelwood nickel sulphide discovery.

The conductor was detected in a recently completed airborne electromagnetic geophysical survey over the Western Australian project that indicated multiple bedrock conductive zones.

The significance of this discovery is that this conductor has returned numerous intercepts of massive sulphides for Rox, including a best visual intercept of 4 metres of massive and 4 metres of semi-massive sulphides within 30 metres of mineralisation from 144 metres.

The conductive zone continues for around 1.3 kilometres into Cullen’s recently granted E53/1637 tenement.

Three, first order bedrock conductive anomalies/trends with no previous nickel exploration or drill testing have been identified in the VTEM survey.

kürzlich gabs die ersten BEs vom mt.eureka- proj., die so vielverspr.
ausfielen, daß bereits in 10.13 ein folge- progr. anläuft !!!!

darüber hinaus gehts auch beim MAT- JV voran und man darf gespannt
auf die nächsten resultate warten........assays dazu werden nächsttägig
erwartet...

In der Spitze stieg der Preis für eine Tonne des Industriemetalls auf 14.190 US-Dollar. Das ist der höchste Stand seit etwa zwei Wochen. Allein seit vergangenem Freitag ist der Preis um mehr als fünf Prozent gestiegen. Am Wochenende war in Indonesien ein Ausfuhrverbot von Erzen wie Nickel in Kraft getreten. Die größte Volkswirtschaft Südostasiens ist der weltweit größte Exporteur von Nickelerzen.

Der Schritt Indonesiens zielt darauf ab, die heimische Produktion höherwertiger Güter zu stärken. Nickel wird unter anderem in der Stahlproduktion eingesetzt. Von einer stärkeren Eigenproduktion verspricht sich das Land auch, sein großes Leistungsbilanzdefizit zu verringern. Der Nickelpreis werde auf dem jetzigen Niveau verharren, solange es nicht sowohl zu einem nachhaltigen Anstieg der Nachfrage als auch einer größeren Disziplin auf der Produktionsseite komme, so die Analysten Peter Richardson und Joel Crane weiter.

Dies stehe im Kontrast zu den Prognosen der Citigroup und Goldman Sachs, deren Analysten angesichts des indonesischen Erz-Exportverbots und einer Verknappung mit einer Rally rechnen, so Bloomberg weiter.

Citigroup rechnet für dieses Quartal mit einem Anstieg des Nickelpreises auf 17.000 US-Dollar je Tonne.

Goldman Sachs prognostiziert auf Sicht von zwölf Monaten einen Nickelpreis von 16.000 US-Dollar pro Tonne.

Hi,

Cullen hatte ich jetzt lange auf der näheren Watchliste und mache Platz für einen anderen.

Ende des letzten Quartals waren es noch 844k Cash - geplante 400k für dieses Jahr ergibt eine neue Finanzierungsrunde für Ende Juni.

Das Verhältnis von Explorationsausgaben 464k zu Mgmt-Kosten 130k ...nicht schlecht, könnte besser sein. Wir haben aber schon 818.389.431 Aktien... eine Finanzierung bei dem Aktienpreis kaum möglich. Also irgendwann ein Re-Split auf mind. 10:1 - der dann vermutlich sofort abgestraft wird - d.h. das eingesetzte Kapital durch 10....

Rox Resources granted trading halt to raise capital

Rox Resources (ASX: RXL) is heading to market with a capital raising, with the ASX granting the company a trading halt and pre-open status.

Earlier in the month RXL hit the heights following further significant widths and high grades, including a best nickel hit yet of 2 metres at 8.1% nickel intercept from drilling at a prospect at its Fisher East nickel project in Western Australia.

The results continue to show there is potential for multiple deposits at the project.

Drilling consisted of 14 holes for 2,663 metres to further define the high grade zones at the two new nickel sulphide discoveries made by Rox at Musket and Cannonball.

These were along the strike of the Camelwood ultramafic unit.

The halt will remain in place until the opening of trade on Monday 17th March 2014, or earlier if an announcement is made to the market.




Mein Fazit: drängt sich - wie auch Cullen - nicht auf. Die Top20Shareholder halten auch gerade mal 20%...der künftige Geldgeber für Rox wird sich da min. 50% sichern wollen.... zu lasten der ehemaligen Anleger !
Erst sollte der Rohstoffmarkt sich erholen, dann könnte hier bei weiteren guten Bohrergebnissen was drin sein - m.E.n. im Sinne eines min. Tenbaggers. D

...ich schaue jetzt mal lieber auf Talga und Grizzly (und für Nickel = metallica min.) - hgb55, da bist du auch, gell

derweil konnten sich sowohl RXL wie CUL frisches geld besorgen, um die
angedachten expl., spez. im NI- sektor, voran zu bringen, was ICH als
anerkennung der akt. manag.- strategien verstehe und offenbar auch der
markt - wie wir auch akt. im fall von TLG beobachten können !!!

nun bleibt abzuwarten, welche resultate zum vorschein kommen bzw. was
diese bewirkten/ auslösen......JV etc.

....was kanad. GZD bzw. austr. MLM anlangt, so bin ich noch in
beiden mit rest- posis drin, erachte jedoch die kanad. JOR bzw. NIC
akt. für aussichtsreicher.

Saw on ABC ticker tape this bit of news related to the
Anketell Port in Western Pilbara.

The Anketell port will serve the WPIOP and there are plans to have infrastructure to service the IO tenements forming the WOIOP of which CUL is part of.

CUL has 2 tenements in the Western Pilbara:

1) Mt Stuart Iron Ore project - 20% Cul and 80% API (API- being 50% Aquila and 50% American and Korea-Posco) and

2) Wyloo Dome Iron Ore project - JV with Fortescue

I also think that the recent spike (betw 10-11 Apr 2014 thereabouts)on price from 0.006-0.01 thereabouts has more to do with Colin Barnett announcing China through Baosteel's interest in developing the WPIOP (Western Pilbara Iron Ore project) than the assay results.

Look up Aquila website or search on google- Aquila and Baosteel; Either late 2013 or 1qtr 2014, Baosteel increased its stake in Aquila and than less than 2 months on, Colin Barnett announced Baosteel's interest.

Aquila is the 50% stake player in the API JV formed with the Americans and Korean-Posco taking the balance 50% to manage the WOIP project.

My conviction is Cul will stand to benefit if the WPIOP takes off.

From what I have been sussing out, Cul seems to the only junior in the WPIOP trading under 1cts.

Also, one should check out this http://www.apijv.com.au/
It is the official website for the WPIOP and gives a clear
understanding the venture. Mt Stuart-Cul's tenement is in there.

jooooh.....2,2ct. war ein schööööner ausreisser, wohin es hier noch gehen
kann. seither gab kurs nach und gab denen von der seitenlinie chance zum
zusteigen.

denke mal, akt. niv. um 1,4ct bietet weiterhin vorzügliche einstiegschancen,
um an einer aussergewöhnlichen story teilzunehmen !!!

It has JVs with most of the majors... and now with the west Pilbara iron ore project back in play...

Cullen has a driveway to many good real estate... who ever gets the "Driveway"... controls the traffic...!!!!

If RXL... Runs... CUL runs...
If AQA Runs... CUL runs.... AQA has more than 100 mil shares in CUL....

China's Baosteel is in the box seat to secure a massive iron ore holding in Western Australia after Mineral Resources failed to take control of explorer Aquila Resources.

Aquila on Wednesday said it had rejected mining contractor Mineral Resources' takeover offer, and is still recommending its shareholders accept the offer from Baosteel and Aurizon.

Analysts say the move paves the way for the Chinese state-owned company to shore up new iron ore supply and reduce the risk of higher iron ore prices in the future.

Mineral Resources bought a near 13 per cent stake in Aquila Resources last week, and on Monday made a share-swap takeover offer for the Pilbara explorer that valued it at $1.5 billion.

Aquila is already the target of a lower $1.4 billion cash takeover bid from steelmaker Baosteel and rail operator Aurizon, as the companies involved look to kickstart the stalled $10 billion West Pilbara Iron Ore Project.

Aquila chairman Tony Poli, who holds a 29 per cent stake in the company, intends to accept the Baosteel and Aurizon offer while other shareholders have until July 11 to accept it.

Mineral Resources plans to discuss its potential involvement in the construction of the mine, rail and port project, as well as the operation of the mines as it considers what to do with its stake in Aquila.

Analysts say the Baosteel bid is likely to go ahead as the Chinese look to establish a large stable supply of the steel making ingredient.

Morningstar Resources analyst Mathew Hodge said Baosteel wanted control of Aquila.

"If you're a pessimist you would say they want to have something sizeable where they can add meaningful supply to the global market to reduce the cost of iron ore for China," he said.

The West Pilbara Iron Ore project would only be financed with Chinese money, he said.

"That's key to the project and Baosteel's got a pretty strong hand."

He said it appeared the WA state government was trying to breathe some life into the project with the release of the Anketell Port Master Plan in the Pilbara on Wednesday.

There was not a huge amount of competition for Aquila and a stalemate would be the worst outcome for Mineral Resources, Mr Hodge said.

CMC Markets analyst Michael McCarthy said Mineral Resources had already had close dealings with the Aquila board and would try to maintain friendly relations in the hope of securing future contracts.

Aquila shares were up 23 cents, or 7.3 per cent, at $3.36 at 1355 AEST, while Mineral Resources shares were down 28 cents, or 2.8 per cent, at $9.28.

erfahren wirs nun auch off., daß BAOSTEEL nunmehr auch bei CUL zum
´substantial´ holder geworden ist.........und zwar mit satten 9,86% bzw.

I agree with these comments. CUL broke a volume record last week and there were line wipes into the 6s. It may just be lithium exuberance but my guess is a number of people took up positions in expectation of an imminent SP surge.

This was not DTs looking to take pips from the current lithium buzz. No one or group of people acting alone or together would spend that kind of cash on a penny struggler like CUL unless, perhaps, they knew something about those lithium targets that CUL has applied for.

So my hunch: (1) the approvals for those applications is very close and (2) those lithium targets are high value.....

EIN grund für jüngste ´turbolenzen´ könnte zb auch durch aktiv. der gross- aktionäre stammen,
die ob der jüngsten aquis in verheissungsvolle LI- proj. ihre pos. aufstockten.

vor allem die chin. BAOSTEEL wäre da zu nennen, die innerhalb des konzerns NEU- gewichtung
richtung lithium, graphene etc. vornahm...........wie auch folg. beitrag ausm HC- board zu entnehmen

Highlights

 Cullen Resources Limited (“Cullen” or the “Company”) has completed a
preliminary field review of its tenement applications for lithium pegmatite
mineralisation in the Pilbara and Greenbushes regions.

 Numerous pegmatites were observed and sampled in both the Pilgangoora
North East (ELA 45/4626) and Wodgina West (ELA 45/4682) prospect
areas in the Pilbara - fieldwork guided by mineral occurrences from
published maps (MINEDEX database) and historical information but
pegmatites sampled by Cullen were generally more widespread than
existing data indicated, with a best rock chip assay of 1.21% Li2O.
 Field review of targets areas for lithium pegmatite mineralisation within
Cullen‘s ELA 70/4803 south west of the Greenbushes Mine, found just two
pegmatitic granite outcrops, and four reconnaissance laterite samples were
collected from ELA 70/4802 - access is very limited in these areas due to
jarrah dieback control and further planning for access permission is
required.
 These early indications offer significant encouragement for further work in
the Pilbara, having highlighted trends of pegmatite for more detailed
mapping and sampling. Significant areas of soil cover occur, which may be
prospective for lithium pegmatite mineralisation, but require a more
systematic surface sampling approach. More detailed work is pending
tenement approvals.....
