MONTREAL, Feb. 28, 2024 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sirios Resources Inc. (TSX-V: SOI; OTCQB: SIREF) is pleased to report the presence of visible gold in the first hole of the 2024 drilling program in the high-grade Eclipse area of its 100% owned Cheechoo gold property.

The first hole of the program, CH24-305, intersected at the targeted depth, multiple specks of coarse visible gold hosted in a chloritized quartz vein at 256.7 m down the hole in a tonalite (Figures 1, 2, and 3). Additionally, more than 100 grains of visible gold were encountered in a mafic dyke at 258.0 m (Figure 4).........

SIRIOS STARTS EXPLORATION DRILLING TO THE EAST OF THE CHEECHOO GOLD DEPOSIT

Sirios Resources Inc. has started a 1,200-metre diamond drilling program on Sirios's Cheechoo gold property in Eeyou Istchee James Bay, Quebec. The proposed holes will test the lateral and depth continuity of gold mineralization discovered in the 2022 trenches, from which an interval grading 2.65 grams per tonne Au over 11 m was obtained. This gold mineralization, identified in metasedimentary rocks, was also intersected in holes No. 67, No. 129 and No. 269, which included an interval of 0.9 g/t Au over 15.7 m.

Dominique Doucet, president of Sirios, stated: "We are very excited to follow up on the excellent results we initially obtained on surface in the area we refer to as metasediments outside the Cheechoo deposit. Gold mineralization in this area is hosted in metagreyackes, the same host rock as the nearby Eleonore mine, suggesting the potential to discover not only a new zone, but perhaps even another gold deposit."

LITHIUM: SIRIOS INCREASES THE SURFACE AREA OF ITS LI-52 PROPERTY IN EEYOU ISTCHEE JAMES BAY, QUEBEC

Sirios Resources Inc. has acquired, by map designation, 160 additional claims on its Li-52 property, located in Eeyou Istchee James Bay. The property is currently made up of 710 claims covering an area of over 369 square kilometres, Sirios's largest property. It has excellent potential for lithium, as indicated by the presence of several lithium, cesium, rubidium and gallium anomalies in lake-bottom sediment samples (see March 1, 2023, press release).

The newly acquired claims consolidate the property to the north, northwest and west. Sirios now holds 1,821 claims (including 11 claims pending) in the Eeyou Istchee James Bay region, covering more than 939 square kilometres, which gives the company a very favourable position in relation to the prospective potential of the region for lithium......

SIRIOS RESUMES EXPLORATION ON AQUILON, EEYOU ISTCHEE JAMES BAY REGION, QUEBEC

Sirios Resources Inc. is resuming exploration work in the Eeyou Istchee James Bay region. The Sirios exploration team is currently pursuing work on the Aquilon gold property, in partnership with Sumitomo Metal Mining Canada Ltd. Mapping and rock sampling on a series of trenches, a property-wide soil geochemical survey, a structural study, and borehole and drone geophysical surveys will be undertaken in the coming weeks.

An airborne lidar (light ranging and detection survey was completed last June over the entire property (67.4 square kilometres). This survey is in addition to large-scale geochemical till sampling, approximately 40 line km of induced polarization (IP) ground geophysical survey and 12 mechanically excavated trenches completed last March.

The current exploration program is financed by Sumitomo, with Sirios as operator. Sumitomo has the option to earn an 80-per-cent interest in the Aquilon project by making an investment of $14.8-million (refer to the press release of Dec. 19, 2022).........
