THE Federal Government`s moratorium on the issue of new
online gaming licences has been hailed as a potential
moneyspinner by My Casino, locking competition out of a
market already earning the company turnover of $36 million
a month.
The Australian-listed, Vanuatu-licensed internet casino operation
expects to log $50 million a month in bets during the next quarter,
most originating from South-East Asia.
Managing director Gordon McIntosh said the company was not
concerned by Canberra`s moratorium or a potential ban on online
gaming, because its gaming facilities did not operate from
Australia or target Australians as customers.
The Federal Government proposed the 12-month moratorium to
give it time to consider the feasibility of banning internet gaming
altogether.
Unlike most of the internet gaming industry, which was highly
critical of the proposed legislation, Mr McIntosh said a ban could
help the company.
"If the government banned online gaming in Australia, we wouldn`t
be too sorry," he said.
"But it obviously does create uncertainty, and it puts a brake on
things."
By locating in Vanuatu, My Casino not only avoided Australia`s
gaming restrictions, but also benefited from a 4 per cent tax rate,
Mr McIntosh said.
My Casino – backed by European fund managers such as
Hans-Rudolf Moser – had developed worldwide expansion plans,
he said.
"We do not target Australia, and we don`t take bets from the US,"
he said. "Our market is in South-East Asia and in northern
Europe.
"The background of the management is strong in
that area, and we know the market well."
My Casino also looked overseas for its banking partner, eschewing
Australian banks in favour of Britain`s Barclays Bank to process its
credit card transactions.
"You need to be able to take credit cards, and Australian banks
don`t accept credit cards for gaming transactions," Mr McIntosh
said.
Regardless of its relatively remote location, Vanuatu provided a
satisfactory infrastructure, he said. "The bandwidth is very good."
Despite the moratorium, there were additional moves on the local
internet gaming front last week, with Tasmanian casino giant, the
Federal Group, launching its Southern Cross Casinos gaming
portal.
The operator of the Wrest Point and Launceston Country Club
casinos spent more than $10 million developing the site, which
was licensed by the Tasmanian Government in 1998.

Quartalsergebnisse für wichtig erachte sondern den Monatsumsatz Juli. Werden wir die Steigerungsrate beibehalten?

Wäre schön, wenn wir der Übersicht wieder in die alte Ordnung (unter BullishBear) zurückkehren könnten und uns auf einen (Haupt)Thread konzentrieren. Aus diesem Grund habe ich Part 1 eröffnet, wäre schön wenn dort weiterdiskutiert würde. (natürlich nur wenn es in eurem Interesse liegt)

Kann Drogo nur zustimmen.
Nach dem bereits tollen Start im Mai ( wer hätte dies vorher gedacht ! ) gab´s das
sensationelle Juni-Ergebnis.
Wenn es nun im Juli nochmals aufwärts geht, gibt´s ein Kursfeuerwerk, da bin ich mir sicher...

Es interessiert hier niemanden mehr.
Nach dem bereits tollen Start im Mai ( wer hätte dies vorher gedacht ! ) gab´s das
sensationelle Juni-Ergebnis.
Wenn es nun im Juli nochmals aufwärts geht, gibt´s ein Kursfeuerwerk, da bin ich mir sicher...
