Blackstone Launches $4 Million Swedish Nickel Exploration Program

Blackstone Ventures Inc. (TSX VENTURE:BLV) is pleased to announce a 2007 $4 million exploration and development budget and goals for Sweden in 2007. The projects comprise 19 exploration permits and applications totaling 64,000 hectares and gives Blackstone effective control over the Vasterbotten Nickel Belt and its known nickel sulphide deposits. Sweden boasts a strong positive mining culture and excellent infrastructure. A 20-25,000 metre drill program has commenced and an additional two diamond drills are expected to be operational by the end of the first quarter. The 2007 exploration campaign will be overseen by newly appointed country manager Ricardo Lopes.

Since announcing the finalization of an Option to Purchase Agreement with Lundin Mining Corp. (see press release November 8, 2006) the Company has completed a 4,000 line kilometre HeliTem airborne magnetic and EM survey over a large portion of its land package. The project areas are extensively covered with glacial overburden, typically sandy tills, which have hampered past prospecting and exploration efforts. The airborne survey was flown over many of the known historical resources and provides an excellent database from which to design an aggressive exploration program. Numerous conductive features have been interpreted from preliminary survey data and have been targeted for nickel sulphide exploration. Many of these features are coincident with existing historical deposits such as the Lappvattnet Nickel Deposit (historical resource of 2.5Mt @ 1.03%Ni), or are located immediately along strike of known mineralization.

The Company has let an initial diamond drilling contract and the first drill rig has been mobilized to the Lainjaur Property located in the northern part of the Skellefte district. The historical Lainjaur Nickel Mine is the only nickel deposit to have seen commercial mining within the district (1941 to 1945) and was the last nickel mine in operation in Sweden. The Lainjaur nickel mine produced a reported 100,526 tonnes of ore grading 2.2 per cent Ni (nickel), 0.93 per cent Cu (copper) and 0.1 per cent Co (cobalt). Mineralization is found at the base of a shallow dipping gabbro to gabbro norite host rock and has been mined to a vertical depth of less than 100 metres. Ground geophysical surveying has identified two distinct EM conductors on the property, both of which are located down plunge of the mine workings. The first hole is designed to intersect the interpreted down plunge extension of the deposit at approximately 200 metres drill depth. Four to six holes are planned to drill test the identified EM conductors in this first phase of drilling.

To supervise these programs the Company is pleased to announce that it has appointed Ricardo Lopes as the Exploration Manager for Sweden. Mr. Lopes has recently resigned from Xstrata Nickel where he was the Chief Project Geologist for Regional Nickel in Brazil. His most recent responsibilities included overseeing the delineation of the Serra do Tapa and Vale dos Sonhos advanced nickel laterite projects which are being brought towards a resource definition by Xstrata Nickel. Mr. Lopes brings over 16 years of nickel exploration experience to the Company and has worked extensively in South America implementing regional exploration programs searching for nickel and platinum group metals. Mr. Lopes' immediate task will be to rapidly advance the numerous exploration targets on the Company's extensive Swedish property holdings to the drill stage. To that extent drilling and access permits have been acquired for the Lappvattnet and Lainjaur targets.

Mr. Lopes will oversee the management and execution of the Company's 2007 exploration programs in Sweden which include the properties covered under the Lundin Option Agreement and three other properties, the Degerselet, Gisstrask, and Umasjo properties, that are 100% owned by the Company. The Degerselet property comprises two claims located along a prominent northwest structure from which the SGAB (Swedish Government) took 85 samples including 10 from outcrop. Sulphide is noted in 64 samples including 2 containing massive sulphide and one sulphide breccia. Four of these samples have been assayed by Blackstone. Best results from available data are up to 2.63% Ni, 13 g/t Pd, and 2.43% Cu in separate samples. There are no indications of previous drilling to test the source of this mineralization.

Drill core is being logged and mineralized intervals are to be split on site in Sweden, with split samples being shipped to OMAC Laboratories in Ireland. A system of using check assays, duplicates and standards has been implemented for quality control purposes. The exploration program is being carried out under the direction of Paul Nagerl, P. Geo., Vice President of Exploration for the Company and a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101. The information in this release was prepared under the direction of Dean MacEachern, P. Geo., Chief Operating Officer for Blackstone, a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101.

Blackstone does not have, and is not aware of any resource or reserve estimates which conform to the standards laid out in National Instrument (NI) 43-101 and advises that it has not done the work necessary to verify these historical resource estimates. As a result Blackstone is not treating these historical resource estimates as NI 43-101-defined resources therefore these historical resource estimates should not be relied upon.

Bei Nickel ist die Nachfrage ungebremst hoch. Weltweit 4000 to. Das ist eine Reserve von nur einem Tag. Dass alles spielt mit rein und wird den Kurs unter die Arme greifen.

Strathmore geht auch gut ab. Ausbruch-Trades sind sehr lukrativ. Jetzt könnte Blackstone einen run hinlegen. Um 21 Uhr leg ich nach. Mach ich immer so, obwohl meine Ordergebühren in Kanada 70 Euro betragen. 60 Euro fix, dann kommen nochmal 10 euro dazu. Heftig!

Soweit ich sehen kann, wurde Blackstone von nicht großartig von dem Analysten-Radar erfasst. In Deutschland ist der Titel total unbekannt, wenn man so durchs Netz surft.

Die Ein-Dollar-Marke rückt in Greifweite. Die Bullen werden ihre Kraft nutzen, um gegen diese Marke zu laufen. Die Bären sind bei Blackstone momentan in schlechter Verfassung, wenn man sich das Umsatzvolumen der letzten Tage anschaut.

Charttechnischer Ausblick: Daraus brach Nickel in den vergangenen Wochen mit dem Anstieg über 34.750 $ nach oben aus, so dass sich jetzt die Möglichkeit einer Rallyefortsetzung bis in den Bereich 45.000 $ eröffnet.

Blackstone Ventures Inc. (TSX VENTURE:BLV) is pleased to announce a 2007 $4 million exploration and development budget and goals for Norway in 2007. Blackstone has been exploring in Norway since 2003 and has recently negotiated to purchase a 100% interest in seven distinct project areas that are highly prospective for the discovery of sulphide nickel deposits. The 2007 exploration campaign will be overseen by newly appointed country manager Rob Foy, P. Geo. A 20-25,000 metre drill program has commenced and an additional two diamond drills are expected to be operational by the end of the first quarter.

The Norway projects comprise seven large land positions within prospective nickel belts in southern and central Norway. The Company holds a total of 1,418 preclaims which cover a strike length of in excess of 225 kilometres of prospective terrain for nickel sulphide deposits. In excess of 50 historical nickel mine workings are present on the property package. Since the inception of the projects in 2003, Blackstone has funded a total of 18,332 line km of airborne magnetics and EM which has been flown at the Espedalen, Vakkerlien, Bamble, Ertelien, Skjaekerdalen and Evje project areas. Several hundred line kilometres of ground geophysics has been completed on several of the project areas. A total of 77 drill holes have been completed on the Espedalen and Ertelien Projects resulting in two new nickel zones and several prospective nickel intersections having been discovered on the properties. The initial pass of drilling completed to date has been completed on targets covered by approximately 10% of the currently held property position. The Stormyra zone on the Espedalen project and the Ertelia zone on the South Norway project both require additional drilling to fully evaluate the extent of the mineralized systems. It is the Company's intention in 2007 to not only further test these zones, but to also drill test all the currently identified targets on the remaining project areas.

One drill is currently operating at the Ertelia Mine target area testing underneath a previously unmapped sulphide bearing trench located approximately 250m west of the recently drilled Ertelia Zone. The new trench is oriented roughly north-south, is approximately 100m in length and is associated with a 400m long magnetic high. After drill testing this sulphide showing, the drill will move to the Langdalen target where at least four drill holes are planned to test underneath and along strike of the historical Langdalen Nickel Mine (historical production of 250,000 tonnes grading 2.5 to 3.5% Ni).

A second drill rig is currently being secured and will be mobilized to the Bamble project area approximately 130 kilometres to the south of the Ertelien project. The objective for that drill rig will be to test underneath and along strike of historical nickel mine workings at Nystein-Vissestad, Meinkjaer and Seljason with a minimum of four to eight holes per target area.

The Company also intends to complete additional drilling on the Espedalen project in 2007. A third drill rig will be mobilized to the Espedalen project once it is secured. The objective at Espedalen is to expand on the drilling completed in 2005 which was designed as a first pass testing on several conductors. Many of the target areas on the Espedalen project were only tested with one or two holes at shallow levels. It is thought that mineralized zones such as Trona (ES2005-35: 1.73% Ni, 0.29% Cu, 0.09% Co / 1.53m), Storgruva Extension (ES2005-37: 0.96% Ni, 0.39% Cu, 0.08% Co / 6.4m) and Vesle (ER2005-42: 1.05% Ni, 0.46% Cu, 0.06% Co / 7.2m) have significant potential to be expanded. The Company also intends to drill additional holes at the Stormyra Zone where a small resource was established and the Company feels there is room to expand the zone both along strike and down dip.

Donald McInnes states, "Having now secured an agreement to purchase a 100% interest in the Norway Projects Blackstone will embark on its busiest year ever. Exploration work over the last three years has set the stage and readied numerous drill targets. With a three drill 20 to 25,000 metre diamond drilling campaign now underway we hope to as quickly as possible drill test and evaluate as many targets and conductors as possible. At Ertelien we have over 34 anomalies to test many of which are coincident with historical mine workings, none of which have been ever subjected to modern exploration. We hope to build on the early successes we have had and to build on this as quickly as possible."

The Company wishes to announce the appointment of Mr. Robert Foy, P.Geo. as the Exploration Manager for Norway, and he will oversee the management and execution of the Company's 2007 exploration program. Mr. Foy has recently resigned from Xstrata Nickel where he was the Senior Geologist for the Nickel Rim South Deposit in the Sudbury Basin, currently under development and scheduled for full production in 2010. Mr. Foy brings over 20 years of nickel sulphide exploration experience to the Company including extensive work searching for nickel and platinum group metals in North America and Africa. Mr. Foy's immediate task will be to rapidly advance our exploration programs to test the numerous nickel targets within the Company's extensive property holdings with diamond drilling. To that extent, drilling and access permits have been obtained for the Langdalen, Nystein, Meikjaer and Seljason targets where the presence of numerous historical nickel sulphide mine workings provide a strong indication for the potential of further discoveries. The Company's strategy will be to begin drilling underneath and adjacent to historical mine workings for extensions to the historical deposits.

Backgrounder to Blackstone's January 24, 2007 Norway Exploration Campaign

A large airborne geophysical survey covering 18,182 line kilometres was completed over many of the Norway project areas in 2006 and resulted in the identification of numerous conductors and magnetic features warranting additional follow up work on the ground. Many of these anomalies were found to be coincident with known historical mine workings, particularly in the Ertelien and Bamble project areas. However only 3 targets within the Ertelia Project area were drill tested, several others remain untested, and all targets within the Bamble Project have yet to be drill tested.

Review of Ertelien Project in 2006

During 2006 a total of 17 holes were drilled at Ertelia. The fifteen drill holes reported here are a final compilation of all remaining holes drilled by the previous operator of the project, Sulfidmalm A/S (a wholly owned subsidiary of Xstrata Nickel). Eleven of the drill holes reported here are drilled on the Ertelia Mine target where previous holes had intersected significant nickel sulphide mineralization, for example in hole ER2006-06B which intersected 1.46% Ni, 1.32% Cu, 0.08% Co over 28.07m from 281.78m to 309.85m including 1.90% Ni, 1.76% Cu, 0.11% Co over 19.9m. Of the remaining four holes reported here, two holes were drilled on the Sigdal target and two holes were drilled on the Baksjo target. The first six holes (not including three drill holes which were lost in bad ground) were reported in an earlier press release (dated August 9, 2006).

New highlights from the recent drilling at the Ertelia target include:

ER2006-17: 1.43% Ni, 0.99% Cu & 0.09% Co / 2.48m

ER2006-18: 1.05% Ni, 0.76% Cu & 0.09% Co / 9.80m

ER2006-19: 1.18% Ni, 0.13% Cu & 0.06% Co / 1.05m

Donald McInnes, President of Blackstone, stated, "A total of seventeen (17) drill holes have been completed at Ertelia by Xstrata Nickel. Of these, thirteen (13) have intersected nickel mineralization, of which eight (8) intersected greater than 1.00% Ni over a minimum of 2.0m drill length. Our next objective for the Ertelia Mine target is to step away from the currently drilled zone which covers an area of approximately 300 metres strike length and 300 metres dip length to see if there is a larger zone. Our field crew has recently mapped a historical sulphide bearing trench (the Northwest Trench) which is located approximately 250 metres to the west of the current Ertelia zone and is associated with a 400m long magnetic anomaly. The proximity of this area to a large power line prevented the effective use of ground EM surveying. We have however moved the drill to test under the new showing to evaluate the nickel potential of this target.

Significant nickel sulphide mineralization was intersected early in the drill program (ER2006-06B intersected 1.46% Ni, 1.32% Cu, 0.08% Co over 28.07m including 1.90% Ni, 1.76% Cu, 0.11% Co over 19.9m) at the Ertelia target and it quickly became the focus of the drilling in 2006 in Norway. A listing of drill hole locations and significant nickel sulphide intersections are presented in the tables below. An updated geological interpretation is forthcoming and will incorporate all new and existing results with particular emphasis on the multiple mineralized intervals. There appears to be at least two mineralized horizons hosted within the gabbronorite and immediate footwall gneiss. The new model will serve as a basis for the next phase of the program.

Sigdal Target

The Sigdal target is located approximately 25 kilometres to the west of the Ertelia target. A total of two short drill holes were completed adjacent to historical mine workings at opposite ends of a geophysical conductor associated with these historical workings. Hole ER2006-13 drilled on the north side of the workings returned highly anomalous assays values for Ni, Cu, Co and significant Au at drill depths of 24 metres and 36 metres as follows.

The geophysical conductor is coincidental with old Mine working and the mineralized horizon that hosts these shallow, anomalous Ni-Cu and the significant Au results. Based on these encouraging results, planned drilling will test the centre of the conductor as well as determine the extent of the mineralized horizon downdip and along strike.

Baksjo Target

The Baksjo target is located approximately 9 kilometres to the north of the Ertelia target area. Two drill holes, ER2006-7 and 8 were completed on the Baksjo target where a high conductance (7900 siemen) UTEM anomaly was identified however no mineralization was intersected in either hole. The Company is currently reviewing the target to determine if additional work is warranted to assess the cause of the geophysical anomaly.

Drill core is logged and mineralized intervals are split on site in Norway, with split samples being shipped to SGS Lakefield Research in Ontario. hallo

bist ja hier der alleinunterhalter. da will ich doch auch mal kurz meinen senf dazugeben.

das management hat hier doch einige sehr aussichtsreiche projekte eingesammelt. mit nickel cobalt und kupfer sehr interessante industriemetalle, die sicher weiterhin stark im fokus bleiben.
meiner meinung nach dürfte aber z.Z. nicht mehr soviel luft nach oben sein bei einer mk von knapp 36mio€, da noch sehr viel arbeit, zeit und vor allem geld nötig wird, um eines der projekte zur produktion zu bringen.
erstaunlich fand ich die meldung vom 15.1.07, dass sich Xstrata Nickel vollkommen aus aussichtsreichen projekt in norwegen zurückzieht, völlig ohne nsr oder anderer back in vereinbarung.

aber auf jeden fall ne interessante firma werde weiter beobachten und sicher mal bei gelegenheit ne kleine position aufbauen.

Nickel hat mässig eröffnet und ist dann weiter nach Norden gezogen. Mittlerweile kostet eine Tonne Nickel 36150 Dollar, also 18,2359 pro lbs, ein sattes Plus von 1,68%.

Nickel stand in der zweiten Januar-Woche noch bei 30 000 pro Tonne. Innerhalb von nur vier Wochen hat sich die Tonne nun auf 36000 Dollar verteuert. Dass sind sagenhafte 20%. Steigt Nickel weiter wird davon auch Blackstone Ventures profitieren.

Blackstone Announces $7.65 Million Bought Deal Financing

Blackstone Ventures Inc. (TSX VENTURE:BLV) is pleased to announce that the Company has reached an agreement with a syndicate of investment dealers led by Wellington West Capital Markets Inc. (the "Underwriters"), to raise a minimum of $7.65 million by way of a "bought deal" private placement. The Underwriters will have the option to raise an additional $2.7 million for gross proceeds of $10.35 million if the option is exercised in full.

Pursuant to the private placement, the Company will issue and sell units at an issue price of $0.90 per unit. Each unit will consist of one common share and one-half of one common share purchase warrant, with each whole warrant entitling the holder to purchase one additional common share at a price of $1.35 per share for a period of eighteen months following closing.

The Underwriters will be entitled to receive a 6.0% cash commission. In addition, the Underwriters will receive compensation options equal in number to 6.0% of the number of Units sold under the offering. The compensation options will be exercisable for a period of eighteen months from the closing date and will allow the Underwriters to purchase additional common shares at a price of $0.90 per share.

The underwritten private placement is subject to regulatory approvals, the satisfaction of other customary closing conditions and to the provisions of an underwriting agreement to be entered into between the Company and the Underwriters. Any securities issued in conjunction with this financing will be subject to minimum resale restrictions for four months and a day from the date of close. Closing is anticipated to occur on or about February 27, 2007.

The net proceeds of this private placement will be used to fund the Company's Scandinavian nickel exploration projects and for general working capital.

Ganz normal, vor allem für Explorer. Der Käufer soll mit den 1,30 Dollar pro Aktie gelockt werden, d. h. es bestehen gute Chancen, dass der Aktienkurs deutlich über 1,30 stehen wird. Nur dann macht der Investor Gewinn.

Man darf davon ausgehen, dass die Investoren-Gruppe sich sehr genau mit Blackstone Ventures befasst hat.

Blackstone Ventures Inc. (TSX VENTURE:BLV) is pleased to announce that it has intersected significant nickel sulphide mineralization in its first hole drilled in Sweden at the Lainjaur Project located in the northern part of the Skellefte district. The hole was drilled down dip of the historical Lainjaur Nickel Mine and intersected 2.06% Ni, 0.48% Cu, 0.07% Co over 5.1m from 194.0 to 199.1 metres drill depth. The intersection is believed to represent close to true width. The first phase of drilling at Lainjaur consisted of 1347 metres in four holes. All 4 holes, which were drilled to target depths, hit variable amounts of sulphide mineralization. Assay results are pending for the remainder of the holes.

Donald McInnes, President of Blackstone, stated, "The drill intersection from hole LAI07-03 is a very exciting development for Blackstone and for the Swedish Nickel Projects for three reasons.

1. It clearly demonstrates that significant success can be had by drilling in the vicinity of historical Swedish nickel resources that have never been subjected to modern exploration methods demonstrating the potential for the discovery of new nickel resources.

2. The grade of this intersection at more than 2% Ni is very similar to the historical grades mined at the Lainjaur Mine, which closed in 1945, and suggests that there may be other new high grade zones of mineralization on the property.

3. The mineralization is open down dip and along strike to the east and west. Hole LAI-07-03 intersected the mine stratigraphy approximately 150 metres down dip to the north of the old mine workings. Holes 04 and 05 were drilled 100 metres and 200 metres, respectively, north and down dip of LAI-07-03 and both hit the similar mineralized stratigraphy. We believe this is a significant step out from the known workings and gives us some comfort that there may be potential size to the zone.

Our near term goal is to test for the potential to expand this mineralization along strike and down dip."

A preliminary interpretation of the drilling data indicates the mineralization appears to be a typical magmatic sulphide with the more massive sulphide being found towards the basal contact of a gabbro. The zone appears to be shallow dipping at approximately 30 degrees grid north with an overall plunge of the zone being to the north Several narrow, isolated intervals of semi-massive and disseminated sulphide mineralization also occur locally within the gabbro, up-hole of the main zone. The stratigraphy appears to be very predictable over a dip length of at least 600 metres.

A geophysical crew has been mobilized to the site and will perform borehole geophysical surveys on the recently completed holes in order to direct future exploration on the project. The historical Lainjaur Nickel Mine is the only nickel deposit to have seen commercial mining within the district (1941 to 1945) and was the last nickel mine in operation in Sweden. The Lainjaur nickel mine produced a reported 100,526 tonnes of ore grading 2.2 per cent Ni (nickel), 0.93 per cent Cu (copper) and 0.1 per cent Co (cobalt). Prior to this drill program the deposit had only been mined to a vertical depth of approximately 80 metres. The Lainjaur Project is one of 19 individual permits and applications held by the Company in Sweden and is part of the Lundin Option to Purchase Agreement (see press release dated June 15, 2006).

Donald McInnes, remarked, "Once our crews have completed the borehole geophysical surveying and compiled the additional assay data, we will be designing a second phase of drilling in order to determine the limits of this mineralized area. We currently have one drill located in Sweden and are working with local contractors to increase that number to three drill rigs as soon as possible. Our 2007 Swedish exploration campaign will consist of drilling up to 25,000 metres on our extensive Swedish land holdings."

Additional drill targets will also be tested on the Vasterbotten Project during the 2007 field program. In particular, several conductors and interesting magnetic features were highlighted from a recently completed 4,000 line kilometre airborne HeliTEM survey over the Vasterbotten area. Many of these features are coincident with existing historical deposits such as the Lappvattnet Nickel Deposit (historical resource of 2.5Mt @ 1.03%Ni), or are located immediately along strike of known mineralization. The drill has moved off of Lainjaur and is currently operating in the Vasterbotten area.

Drill core is being logged and mineralized intervals are to be split on site in Sweden, with split samples being shipped to OMAC Laboratories in Ireland. A system of using check assays, duplicates and standards has been implemented for quality control purposes. The exploration program is being carried out under the direction of Paul Nagerl, P. Geo., Vice President of Exploration for the Company and a qualified person as defined by Nattional Instrument 43-101. The information in this release was prepared under the direction of Dean MacEachern, P. Geo., Chief Operating Officer for Blackstone, a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101.

Blackstone has mounted one of the most aggressive sulphide nickel exploration programs in the world focused on Scandinavia. In 2007, with a $10 million budget, Blackstone expects to complete over 250 diamond drill holes in Norway and Sweden totalling approximately 50,000 metres. Its land holdings cover no less than four prospective belts, each over 100 kilometres long, many of which contain historical nickel mines and or resources.

BLV greift um sich. Blackstone will 100% der Xstrata Nickel, Sulfidmalm übernehmen. In Anbetracht des sich stark verteuerenden Nickelpreises ein strategisch guter Schachzug.

Der hohe Preis entsteht durch Angebotsverknappung u. Mehrverbrauch. Jetzt gilt es Resourcen zu sichern. So kann man am besten von dem Nickel, oder Rohstoff Hype profitieren.

Als Anfang Mai die Aktienmärkte einbrachen, ging auch die unausgesetzte Hausse an den Märkten für Industriemetalle erst einmal zu Ende. Die Preise brachen ein. Zink verlor knapp 20 Prozent, Aluminium und Kupfer fast 25 Prozent. Blei, dessen Preis schon seit Februar auf dem Rückzug war gab 35 Prozent nach und auch Nickel verlor rund 20 Prozent.

Mittlerweile haben sich alle Industriemetalle wieder erholt, notieren aber immer noch deutlich unter ihren Höchstständen - mit einer Ausnahme. Der Preis für Nickel stieg an der Londoner Metallbörse den achten Tag in Folge und erreichte bei 24.195 Dollar je Tonne den höchsten Stand aller Zeiten.

Stahlproduktion treibt Nickelpreis

Der Grund, warum ausgerechnet Nickel den stärksten Aufschwung erlebt sind relativ einfach zu eruieren. Nachdem die Produktion rostfreien Stahls nach Zahlen des International Stainless Steel Forum im ersten Quartal um zwölf Prozent gegenüber dem Vorquartal zugelegt hat, sehen Investoren hier wieder eine angespanntere Marktlage voraus. Das Wachstum sehe ziemlich robust aus, meint Tony Warwick-Ching, Analyst beim Marktforschungsunternehmen CRU International.

Auch die Fonds hat das wieder auf den Plan gerufen. „Am Mittwoch haben die Fonds noch verkauft, aber heute kaufen sie wieder“, sagte ein Händler am Donnerstag. Andere Händler sehen eine bevorstehende Aufwärtsbewegung als gesünder gegenüber der vorangegangenen an. „Die Märkte steigen, aber die Anleger werden vorsichtiger sein als zu Jahresbeginn. Die Fonds haben eine größerer Risikoaversion als noch im Mai, daher sehe ich nicht, daß sich die liquiditätsgetriebenen Höchststände wiederholen.“, heißt es.

Die Projekte in Schweden:

Vasterbotten District

The Vasterbotten District in north-east coastal Sweden hosts two significant and historically tested and proven nickel belts. The Lappvattnet Nickel Belt has 47 identified deposits and occurrences, including 4 past producers (1851-1945, no current nickel production) and represents the western end of Finland's producing Kotalahti Nickel Belt. Blackstone's option properties in the Lappvattnet Belt encompass 6 deposits and 6 occurrences. The Norr Vaster Nickel Belt has a past producer and 5 occurrences on Blackstone-held land. The option agreement with Lundin Mining encompasses 7 claims and 2 applications for 21,249 ha over the two belts.

According to a 1987 report published by the Sweden Geological Survey ("SGU") the Lappvattnet Nickel Belt has 12 defined Ni-Cu deposits, of which 9 deposits have estimated historical resources totaling 6.5 million tonnes grading 0.4 to 1.3% Ni and 0.04 to 0.27% Cu, including the Lappvattnet deposit which has an historical resource of 2.5 million tonnes grading 1.03% Ni. Most deposits have not been drilled below 100 metres depth.

High grade nickel tenors (up to 20% Ni in 100%S) in Thompson Ni Belt geological setting with high grade potential. By example, a 1973 drill hole at Mjovattnet returned 1.74% Ni, 0.30% Cu over 26.4 metres and included 2.67% Ni, 0.35% Cu over 11.9 metres.


click to enlarge The last major exploration phase was conducted in the 1970's, and included the use of sulphide sniffing dogs. Blackstone intends to utilize more modern exploration techniques including airborne and ground based geophysics.

Blackstone Ventures Inc. has entered into an agreement with Falconbridge Ltd. to explore two nickel projects in Norway: the Espedalen and Vakkerlien projects.

The two projects are situated within the Norwegian Caledonides. Espedalen is hosted in a terrane that is geologically similar to and at one time may have been part of, the terrane that hosts the Voisey's Bay deposits in Newfoundland.

Both projects are proximal to paved roads and railways and are approximately 150km from an ocean port.

The Espedalen project covers approximately 55 square kilometres and is centered on a large differentiated mafic intrusion. Numerous small mines, worked in the mid 1800's, and showings occur throughout the property area. Disseminated and massive sulphide type nickel-copper mineralization is typically associated with the peridotite intrusions. Grab samples of high-sulphide mineralization from four of the historical mine dumps average 1.9% Ni and 0.6% Cu. In spite of being extensively mineralized, the area has received only minor amounts of exploration and no modern geophysics. To date, airborne and ground-based UTEM geophysical surveys have identified numerous geophysical conductors. Subsequent drilling of UTEM conductors has returned high grade nickel mineralized zones.

Highlights 2003-2004

* NGU (Norwegian Geological Survey) contracted to carry out a 900 line km Airborne EM/Magnetics survey to provide better control and targets for UTEM ground surveys.
* Hummingbird EM system capable of detecting near surface conductors (~50m).
* Results: 17 conductors identified; 11 conductors selected for drill testing.
* 15 drill holes completed; 13 holes intersected nickel bearing sulphide mineralization.
* Drill intercepts of significant nickel mineralization at the Dalen (P4) and Stormyra (P2) targets; drilling at Stormyra intersects 14.6m of 1.73% Ni, 0.77% Cu, 0.06% Co and 2.7m of 2.07% Ni, 1.20% Cu, 0.07% Co.
* UTEM survey at Stormyra extends high grade nickel conductor to a strike length of 1200 meters.

James River passt meiner Meinung nicht so zu BLV. Hier ein paar Daten zu diesem Projekt:

Blackstone has granted an option to Wolfden Resources Inc. (WLF-TSE) under which Wolfden can acquire a 70% interest in the James River Property.

The James River property is located immediately south of the High Lake property in Nunavut, Canada. The 38,000-acre property covers a productive greenstone terrane that hosts the High Lake VMS deposit (5.3Mt grading 4.05% Cu, 2.36% Zn, 1.76 g/t Au, 31.73 g/t Ag) and the Ulu gold deposit (1.16Mt grading 11.2 g/t Au) 40 kilometers to the south. Surface mapping in the target area indicates a thick, sulphide bearing felsic breccia, interpreted as a rhyolite dome, flanked by thinner, felsic tuffaceous units. The area is structurally complex but may be the equivalent stratigraphy that hosts the West Zone mineralization where Wolfden recently reported a drill intersection of 5.32% Cu, 3.79% Zn, 118.1 g/t Ag and 2.07 g/t Au over 46.7 metres.

The addition of the James River Property will allow Wolfden to pursue favourable stratigraphy over a much larger area. Wolfden has carried out airborne and ground geophysical surveys and a 5 hole, 1300 metre drilling program on the property in 2003.

Veilleicht ein paar Eindrücke von der Calgary Präsentation:

Just returned to sunny (well somewhat) Vancouver from the Calgary Resource investment conference in Calgary. Despite the inclement weather the enthusiasm at the Conference had to be experienced to be believed. Much smaller than the Vancouver Conference in January, there was an overwhelming sense of optimism. One can easily become addicted to these affairsJ. It was as a result of our encounter in Vancouver that we decided to enter the nickel market via Blackstone and also recommended by Peter Grandich (disclosure).

Peter was not at the Calgary Conference. There was an impressive presentation by Robert Carriere, Manager, Investor Relations. He also gave us a great deal of his time on a one to one basis. Some of the properties were mines that had been manually mined before without present day technology and with nickel at a much lower price.
· One property now 100% owned by Blackstone was previously jointly owned with Xstrata and purchased outright at a cost of $15.5m. This was one of the consequences of the Xstrata takeover of Falconbridge.
· Blackstone is also the beneficiary of the attrition caused by the takeover of Falconbridge.
· Very few nickel producers worldwide and a shortage of nickel
· A 1% nickel content is 22 lbs per ton nickel at 20 odd dollars per…we knew that but have we every thought of it that way.?
· Properties ready to mine and other promising nickel properties in the pipeline.
· Results would be announced as they come in rather that waiting for total results.
· The first could be Monday (2nd April) or it could be in the middle of the week – he didn’t know and he said if he did know he couldn’t tell.
Of course not.
Anyway, as a result of what we saw and heard we decided to double our position when we returned to Vancouver.
The results released today is only the first of many that will be coming and they look exciting.
However, BLV is not dependent on these results. They have plenty of great stuff already to be a going concern or to be taken out.
IMHO the steady stream of results that will be forthcoming, if they are as promising as today’s would indicate that the SP will not recede very much.
One of the constant statements at the Conference was that even if nickel retraces we will never again see nickel at $5 nor copper at 65cents. So folks – enjoy this ride.

BLV ist in Deutschland total unbekannt. Das zeigt der minimale Handel. Absolut lächerlich im Vergleich zu dem riesigen Handelsvolumen in Kanada. Na gut, die beiden BB`s werden sicherlich etwas dazu beitragen, BLV etwas bekannter zu machen.

Bis zur letzten Handelminute herrschte in Kanada Kaufdruck. Das belegt das Close zum High of the Day. 1,43 im Close war ganz ordentlich.

So war grad auf der HP von Blackstone und wurde aber sehr entäuscht. also die Projekte hören sich viel versprechend an vorallem die Zusammen arbeit mit Wolfden Res. und Falconbridge finde ich sehr gut.

Aber woran liegt es das die HP nicht up to date ist??? Man kann grade mal die Jahresreporte bis 2004 lesen. 2005 und `06 fehlen komplett??? Gut 2006 ist vieleicht noch nicht fertig aber 2005????

schöne Perle, um die es hier geht. Was denkt ihr, werden die 1,50 erreicht?! Ich denke schon. Aber ich denke, dass es vorher nochmal einen kleinen Rückgang gibt. Für die, die schon drin sind, ist das nur nochmal eine Nachkaufchance. Ich hab jetzt auch mal eine Order in den Markt gelegt. Aber die letzten Ausbrüche wurden alle erstmal bestätigt.

ich denke das Volumen ist hier einfach nicht so hoch. Aber das wird auch noch kommen. Wir sind jedenfalls drin! In den USA geht das Volumen stetig nach oben und der Kurs auch. Also, was heißt das. Es entsteht ein stabiler Trend.

Leider war das Volumen heute auch in Kanada nicht so der Bringer. Deutet aber auch viel drauf hin, dass sich erstmal einige eingedeckt haben, bevor sie die Rakete starten lassen.

Die BB Empfehlung ist bis jetzt noch nicht gekommen, oder hab ich was verpasst? Vielleicht morgen zum Wochenschluss, dann könnten wir auch wie erhofft die 1,00 € sehen. Für heute bin ich zufrieden.

naja dier Marke von 1,50 CAD wurde schon mal gestestet bei 1,53 CAD, bin gespannt wann die fällt

Fazit: ich bleib dabei nur eine Frage der Zeit wann der Deckel fliegt

Nein, kein Stopp im System! Ich arbeite mit "mentalen" Stopps aber die halte ich ein - konsequent! - Wie ich gerade sehe, bin auch froh drum. Vielleicht komm ich ja nochmal günstig rein. Die Kauforder liegt schon im System, die ist nicht "mental".

So, jetzt besser mit der Übelkeit oder einfach nur schlecht drauf, weils nicht ganz so läuft wie du es dir erhofft hast?!

Tja, wann es weiter geht, das kann keiner sagen. Die Umsätze sind zu niedrig. Ich würde hier nicht mehr einsteigen. Auch in Kanada sind die Umsätze schwach. Denke mal, wenn hier die nächsten 2 Wochen nichts mehr kommt, dann wirds hier wohl etwas runter gehen.

Die meisten, die hier investiert sind, sind auf der Suche nach ein paar schnellen Euros. Die sind aber denke ich schon gemacht.

Blackstone Reports Nickel Intersections at the Langdalen Target
Thursday May 3, 8:00 am ET


VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - May 3, 2007) - Blackstone Ventures (TSX VENTURE:BLV - News) is pleased to provide an update of its ongoing Norwegian drill program. Two drills are currently operating in Norway and two drills are operating in Sweden. An additional two drills have been contracted for start up in May.
The first phase of drilling has been completed at the Langdalen target in Norway with encouraging nickel and precious metals results. The nine holes drilled and reported here were completed in the vicinity of the historical Langdalen Mine site (historical production of 250,000 tonnes @ 2.5 - 3.5% Ni). Hole LN07-05 intersected 1.39% Ni, 1.85% Cu and 0.07% Co over 2.30 metres including 1.94% Ni, 2.43% Cu and 0.09% Co over 1.60 metres starting at a drill depth of 76.5 metres. Hole LN07-09 intersected significant gold and silver mineralization within the footwall rocks to the main sulphide mineralization horizon. The results include 150.17 gpt Au, 133 gpt Ag, 0.37 gpt Pt and 0.53 gpt Pd over 0.5 metres at a drill depth of 138.8 metres. Follow up core sampling is underway to establish the significance of these precious metal intersections.

Donald McInnes, President of Blackstone stated, "These initial results from the Langdalen target are encouraging and demonstrate the significant potential to find nickel mineralization in proximity to the historical mine sites. We feel that these intersections are indicative of a larger source for nickel in the vicinity. Of particular interest is the precious metal content of some of the drill intersections. Hole LN07-09 returned some spectacular gold assays which our geologists are reviewing in order to determine the significance of this type of mineralization. Our strategy of exploring the historical nickel occurrences using modern methods continues to yield very positive results. The drill has now moved on to the Nystein trend target where more interesting results are anticipated."

Current plans for the Langdalen target will include borehole EM geophysical surveys and mapping of the host intrusion to be followed by drilling later in the season. Exploration of this target area will be expanded to include the nearby Tyskland and Skaug historical workings.

The Langdalen drill was moved to the Seljasen target and a ten hole drill program completed in the vicinity of historical workings associated with airborne EM conductors. This drill has now moved onto the Nystein nickel target area where a series of drill holes will be completed under several historical pits, shafts and trenches which were mined during the late 1800's and early 1900's. This trend is defined over a minimum 5 kilometre strike by historic workings from which grab samples containing up to 5.05% Ni have recently been obtained.

A second Norwegian drill rig is currently operating at the Espedalen Project. This drill is tasked with expanding the Stormyra Zone discovered in 2004 where intersections up to 19.63 metres of 1.86% Ni and 0.70% Cu including 2.16 metres of 7.76% Ni and 2.29% Cu were obtained (Press Release 31 March 2005).

Drill core is logged and mineralized intervals are split on site in Norway, with split samples being shipped to OMAC Laboratories in Ireland. A system of using check assays, duplicates and standards has been implemented for quality control purposes. The exploration program is carried out under the direction of Paul Nagerl, P. Geo., Vice President of Exploration for Blackstone and a qualified person as defined by National Instrument 43-101. Blackstone Discovers High Grade Copper Zinc Mineralization in Sweden

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA, Aug 8, 2007 (CCNMatthews via COMTEX News Network) --

Blackstone Ventures Inc. (TSX VENTURE:BLV) has discovered significant Cu-Zn-Pb mineralization with grab samples from mineralized outcrops returning values as high as 6.54% Cu and 22.1% Zn. The discovery was made during a recent prospecting program in northern Sweden, on a new 50 kilometre long and 15 kilometre wide property which was recently acquired by staking and covers part of a large Volcanogenic Massive Sulphide (VMS) belt. The VMS belt hosts several past-producers of copper and zinc in both Sweden and Norway.

Dean MacEachern, Chief Operating Officer for the Company, remarked, "This new discovery is an extremely exciting development for the company. Our initial visual estimates of the surface outcroppings have now been confirmed by the assay values which highlight remarkably high grade. We are very encouraged with the initial results from our first pass of prospecting. We have applied for additional property to secure areas we believe have similar geology to the discovery area.

I want to congratulate our entire team working in Scandinavia on what we believe is a significant discovery. Although the team remains focused on pursuing our vast nickel sulphide opportunities in Norway and Sweden, it was the in house knowledge and expertise we've built in the company over the past two years which led to the recognition of this important mineralized terrain and the opportunity it presents for the company."

According to Jari Paakki, Vice President of Project Development, "the favourable geology and obviously the mineralization indicate we have discovered a significant VMS belt which we now hold the dominant land position acquired through staking. The outcropping polymetallic mineralization includes semi-massive coarse-grained pyrite, sphalerite, chalcopyrite and galena hosted by altered felsic volcanic rocks which we could trace on surface for at least 500 metres in strike length. Other parts of the property host high grade Cu-Zn-Pb glacially deposited boulder clusters with values as high as 5.84% Cu, 20.29% Zn, 17.52% Pb and 96gpt Ag indicting the likelihood of further discoveries.

A team is being mobilized to the project area and prospecting is planned to begin immediately on at least four of these recently identified high-grade massive sulphide boulder areas, which are also believed to be proximal to bedrock sources. Priority targets will then have airborne geophysical surveys completed this fall to further define targets in advance of drilling. The VMS belt hosts past producing Cu-Zn operations located along strike at either end of the property however based on our search of records at the Swedish Geological Survey (SGU), this property has not been drill-tested and there are no records of airborne electromagnetic surveys having been completed."

Blackstone Drills 24.4 metres grading 1.05% Ni, 0.51% Cu with Significant Platinum Group Elements at Juggs Target in Sweden
Blackstone Ventures Inc. (BLV-TSX) is pleased to provide results from an on-going diamond drilling program at the "Juggs" (Njuggtraskliden) target in the Vasterbotten Nickel District in Sweden where recent results have confirmed wide zones of nickel mineralization with platinum group elements (PGEs) at shallow depths.

Recent Drill Results

A total of 24 short drill holes have been completed to date in the first phase of drilling targeting showings and geophysical conductors along a 5 kilometre trend of nickel mineralization. The first drill hole (NJU-07-01) designed to confirm historic grades at Juggs, intersected over 24 metres of significant nickel sulphide mineralization starting at a down-hole depth of 63.4 metres.

Several regional airborne conductors were also tested during this phase of exploration and were explained by barren sulphides and graphitic sediments. Final results for holes NJU-07-02 through NJU-07-07 have been received however no significant assays were returned. Complete results are pending for the remaining 16 drill holes which tested regional EM and magnetic geophysical targets away from the trend of the known mineralization.

Winter 2008 Program

The first phase drill program at the Juggs target, intended to investigate the region for additional nickel sulphide deposits, will be concluded by spring break-up. Results of this program will be fully evaluated and integrated into a geophysical targeting review prior to the next phase of exploration. The Company is also testing the "Ror" (Rormyberget) target in the Vasterbotten district.

Dean MacEachern, COO of Blackstone, comments "Shallow, nickel deposits with value-added PGEs such as the Juggs deposit will be important satellite bodies in our overall global resource in the Vasterbotten Nickel District. We plan to firm-up several preliminary resources in the district in 2008."

Historic Summary of the Juggs Target

The Juggs deposit consists of three zones of mineralization with a resource of just over 500,000 tonnes grading 0.71% Ni and 0.26% Cu . Previous drilling was completed in the 1970's by the Swedish Geological Survey (SGU) and in the early 1990's. Mineralization consists of semi-massive, net-textured and disseminated sulphides, mainly pyrrhotite, hosted by ultramafic intrusions. Assays of up to 12.6 g/t Pt and 25.6 g/t Pd have been reported but no systematic assay program for PGEs has been completed. Select historic drill intervals from the Juggs deposit are listed below.

Blackstone Drills High-Grade Nickel and Precious Metals at Lainjaur Nickel Deposit, Sweden

Blackstone Ventures Inc. (TSX VENTURE:BLV) is pleased to announce that recent diamond drilling at the Lainjaur nickel deposit in Sweden has intersected massive and semi-massive sulphide mineralization assaying up to 5.06% Ni and 14.14 grams per tonne (gpt) total precious metals (Au + Pt + Pd).

Recent Drill Results

A total of 41 drill holes have been completed since January 2007 when Blackstone first began testing the down-plunge extension of the past-producing Lainjaur nickel mine. Results have now been received from drill holes up to LAI-07-36. Highlights from drill results not previously reported are provided in the table below. Assays are pending for the five remaining drill holes LAI-08-37 to LAI-08-41. A drill hole location map, drill section and a summary table of results to date are appended to this release.
