Madge Networks N.V. Announces Its Madge.web Ltd Subsidiary Enters Administration

AMSTERDAM, The Netherlands--(BUSINESS WIRE)--April 27,2001

Madge Networks N.V. (Nasdaq:MADGF - news),
a global network solutions provider, today announced that one of its subsidiary companies, Madge.web Ltd, has entered into Administration in accordance with the rules of the English courts, in a process similar to that of Chapter 11 reorganization under U.S. law. The businesses of Madge Networks, Madge.connect and Red-M (operating businesses and associated companies of Madge Networks N.V, not part of the Madge.web business) are unaffected. Madge.web entities outside the UK continue to operate normally, but may seek a similar status to Madge.web Ltd in the future.

Under Administration, Madge.web Ltd will be operated as a going concern. Two-thirds of staff are being retained in order to continue full services to customers, while a buyer for the business is sought. Madge Networks has been the principal source of funds for Madge.web`s operations to date, and Madge.web has been seeking additional funding. No additional source of funding has been identified for Madge.web, and Madge Networks has decided not to continue funding of Madge.web under normal business conditions. Madge Networks will provide initial funding to the Administrators to continue the operations of Madge.web Ltd.

Madge.web will now be led by Martin Malina, Senior Vice President, Lines of Business, and will be supported by Bob Lindsey, Vice President, Global Operations, Chris Semprini, Director, Finance, and Andy Gillham, Director, Human Resources. Scott Zarriello and David Hann will continue to lead the business of Madge.web in the U.S. and Asia, respectively, providing continued operation and local customer support of Madge.web`s global network.

Madge Networks will be re-stating its financial results and balance sheet for the year ended December 31, 2000, to reflect the fact that Madge.web is no longer a continuing business of the group. Without continuing commitments to the ongoing funding of Madge.web, Madge Networks believes its future liquidity prospects will be strengthened. Madge.connect, the 100% subsidiary of Madge Networks, continued to provide positive cash flow in the quarter ended March 31, 2001, and forecasts continued positive cash flow through the end of the year. Red-M, the other primary operating company in the Madge Networks group, has now been funded through private equity investment, in a deal announced April 12, and Madge Networks no longer has continuing funding obligations to Red-M, while retaining a significant equity interest in the company.

Neurosurgeons Prescribe Red-M Bluetooth Network as Mobile Cure for Doctors; Red-M Partners With m-creations to Increase Doctors` Mobility in Hospitals
WEXHAM SPRINGS, United Kingdom--(BUSINESS WIRE)--May 2, 2001--Red-M(TM), a leading supplier of advanced Bluetooth(TM) network product solutions, has completed another Bluetooth network installation, at the University Hospital (Universitaetsklinik) in Mainz, Germany. The network is located in the department of neurosurgery and allows doctors to enter important patient information, via the Bluetooth network, into the hospital`s patient information database from a handheld Personal Digital Assistant (PDA).
Red-M`s award-winning 3000AS access server and 1000AP access points are at the core of the Bluetooth network. The installation offers significant benefits to hospital staff, enabling flexibility and mobility around the hospital. For example, in order to satisfy stringent German regulations, all doctors have to record diagnoses and surgical procedures of each patient according to international classification codes, stored in the hospital`s database (a SAP R/3 system). habe selber keine Glaskugel. Schade, daß ich jetzt erst Dein Posting lese. Hätte Dir geraten ja. Nun ist der Kurs bei 0,81$ (+10,96%), aber ich glaube wohl, daß dies ein voller Einstiegskurs ist. Will ja nicht pushen, aber ich denke, gerade mit RedM hat madge ein heißes Eisen im Feuer.
Sicher muß sich erst mal die gesamte Aufregung wegen web legen. Schau auch mal bei Raging Bull rein oder direkt auf die Seite von madge und verfolge die News.

Für Deinen Glauben,für Deine Ausdauer und für Deine Unerschütterlichkeit im Hinblick auf Madge Network wollte ich Dir eine in poetischer Form verpackte Anerkennuung aussprechen.
Dies aus zwei Gründen :
1. Weil ich Deine qualifizierten Postings immer gern gelesen habe; zumal auch meistens was Neues drinstand.

2. Weil ich mich gerne mit Dir unterhalten habe.

Jetzt merke ich, ich hätte besser zackig im Telegrammstil auf Deine Frage geantwortet und mir den Rest gespart. Ich hoffe nur,daß Du Dich mit der Abkürzung LoL nicht verschrieben hast und mir eigentlich vorschlagen wolltest, daß ich Dich am Arsch lecken soll.
Wie auch immer :natürlich ist es nicht vorbei.

Vorbei ist es aber meiner Meinung nach mit der Phantasie, die für Madge seinerzeit bestanden hat.
Einen Preis haben sie damals bekommen, für die beste Blue-Tooth Software.
Schnee von gestern.
Wenn, dann wird Madge wohl eine konventionelle Entwicklung nehmen.

Also, wie gesagt (geschrieben).
Ich bin auch nicht mehr voll überzeugt, doch soll ich jetzt die Anteile verkaufen? Glaub kum, dass das so viel Sinn machen würde.
Vor kurzem kam auf 3Sat ein Bericht über BlueTooth.
Das Krankenhaus, welches von Red M beliefert wurden ist, wurde als revolutionär dargestellt. Die Produkte sehen auch geil aus.:-)
Naja, ich denke der Kurs wurde natürlich durch die letzte Mitteilung in Mitleidenschaft gezogen.

natürlich hat Blue-Tooth eine wahnsinns Phantasie. Von einem Leben ohne Kabelsalat träumt jeder.
Unbestreitbar wird dies in den nächsten Jahren auch Realität.
Die Frage ist eben, ob Madge auch davon profitieren wird.
Klar ist es Unsinn, jetzt zu verkaufen.
Mache das auch ausschließlich wegen der Steuer.Hoffe ja doch, daß ich bis Ende des Jahres die eine - oder andere Mark an Gewinn einfahren kann.
Die Verluste von Madge kann ich dann dagegenrechnen.Dazu muß ich sie natürlich verkaufen.
Allerdings werde ich trotz des aktuellen Kurses nicht wieder einsteigen.
Vieleicht ein Fehler.
