GOLDEN, Colo.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 25, 2004--Isonics Corporation(Nasdaq:ISON), committed to the development of next-generationtechnology for the homeland security and semiconductor markets,announced today that it has received in excess of $4 million inproceeds from the recent exercise of existing common stock purchasewarrants. The announcement was made by James E. Alexander, Chairmanand CEO of Isonics.
As of 4:00 pm Mountain Time, Friday, October 22, warrants fromprevious equity financings were exercised by their holders, whichprovided Isonics with more than $4 million in new financing for theCompany. This includes warrant exercises totaling more than $600,000,announced on October 14.
"These additional funds will be of great assistance as Isonicsimplements its strategic plans in our semiconductor, life sciences andhomeland security divisions," said Mr. Alexander. "In particular, theproceeds will be used for continuing development of our NeutroTest(TM)explosive detection device, as well as assisting in the development ofother homeland security-related technologies we currently possess, orthat we may acquire."
Development of NeutroTest(TM) has been underway at Isonics since2002. On September 8, the Company announced the successful performanceof a prototype NeutroTest(TM) device in internal technical reviews. OnOctober 21, Isonics made available on the Internet video footagedemonstrating the functioning prototype and some of its capabilities.
The Company delivered a presentation on NeutroTest(TM) at aseminar on explosive detection technologies held October 18-19 at theNorth Atlantic Treaty Organization (NATO), in Madrid, Spain. "Asexpected, response to the NeutroTest(TM) at the NATO conference waspositive," said Mr. Alexander. "While there is no single product ortechnology which can adequately handle all of the requirements for thedetection of explosives, we believe NeutroTest(TM) can potentiallyfill a number of these needs and play an important role in ensuringpublic safety."
