Hier noch eine zusammenfassende Meldung zum Morupule South Coal Projekt:
Hodges Resources confirms export quality coal in Morupule project
Friday, 03 Feb 2012
Hodges Resources Ltd announced the initial wash test analysis results for the first two diamond core holes at the Morupule South project in Botswana, with the quality and the shallow depth of the initial coal seams exceeding the Company’s initial expectations of the project.
Higlights:
1. Initial wash test analysis results received for first two core holes targeting shallow coal seams at the East Block, Morupule South.
2. Hole MSD40 returned a calorific value of 6,638 Kcal/kg (using a 1.6 wash fraction) from the upper seam which starts 28m below surface.
3. Hole MSD46 returned a calorific value of 6,030 Kcal/kg (using 1.6 wash fraction) from the upper seam which starts 33m below surface.
4. Coal quality and seam geometry support the potential for extraction via open pit methods.
After a positive reconnaissance drilling program in the eastern block during late September, which identified numerous shallow thick coal seams, a program of follow-up infill diamond drilling was undertaken. The initial two diamond core holes (MSD40 & MSD46) confirmed the presence of major coal seams. These holes were sampled and sent to the Inspectorate M&L laboratory in Middleburg, South Africa for undertaking proximate analysis. Subsequent to receiving the initial results several selected samples underwent initial wash testing.
Mr Mark Major MD of Hodges said the wash testing was the first wash testing on this project and has revealed export quality coal with viable yields.

Drilling identifies thick shallow coal intersections
2nd March 2012
COAL TO EXPLOIT Hodges Resources has identified numerous shallow thick coal seams at its Moiyabana project
Initial findings at Australia-based explor- ation company Hodges Resources’ Morupule south coal project, in Botswana, indicate 6 km of shallow flat-lying coal seams.
“It is very encouraging to have intersected coal so early in this drill programme at such shallow depths.
“We are aware that this area is more structurally complex and the depth of the coal seam identified in the historical drilling varied enormously,” says Hodges Resources MD Mark Major.
A total of nine reverse circulation (RC) holes have been completed on the reconnaissance drilling to date and the initial three holes intersected thick shallow coal seams.
The reconnaissance drilling programme started on September 27, 2011, using RC percussion drill methods. At this stage, the programme is concentrating on reconnaissance drilling, which will be followed up with resource definition drilling using diamond core drill methods in the areas where suit- able coal seams are identified.
The programme will consist of 34 drill holes, totalling 4 000 m, and was started at the end of 2011.
On October 16, 2011, the company com- pleted 1 324 m of RC drilling for nine holes in the number series MSRC01 to MSRC09.
All holes have intersected coal seams of material significance. At present, only the first four holes have been wireline and geologically logged.
The openpit potential of the coal seams remains an important consideration for any future commercial mining operations, with recent drill results continuing to support this case, he adds.
Moiyabana Project
Hodges Resources has also announced that proximate and initial wash testing coal analysis results of the first batch of diamond core samples have revealed calorific values, of up to 7 212 000 cal/kg, with yields of up to 76% at its Moiyabana project, in Botswana.
The raw coal quality and seam geometry support the potential for extraction by openpit methods. Geological and resource modelling started with Joint Ore Reserves Committee-compliant modelling expected in the first quarter of 2012
“The company has identified numerous shallow thick coal seams and now, with the quality information, we need to develop our maiden resource for Moiyabana,” concludes Major.
