Hi dakinky, alles klar?

hi zusammen,
Innlandsnachfrage ( Gen.Motors=weniger verkaufte Autos z.b)
weiter Richtung Norden gehen.

Na also,
Good luck

Yep, charlemann. You are right.

6/5/00 - Telica Announces Investment by Redback Networks
> Business Editors
Supercomm 2000
MARLBORO, Mass.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 5, 2000--Telica, Inc., a developer of intelligent multi-service broadband switching systems, today announced a strategic relationship with, and an investment by Redback Networks, Inc. (NASDAQ:RBAK). Telica has aligned with Redback, a world leader in subscriber management systems, to leverage the company`s extensive market position and knowledge, as well as to extend the total solution value to rapidly growing service providers.
"Since its founding in 1996, Redback has established leadership in the broadband subscriber management systems market by serving the top carriers and service providers worldwide with best-in-class capabilities. To augment this market presence, the company has sought to strengthen its position in enabling optimized delivery of value-added application and services to the PSTN, independent of whether handling voice or data traffic," stated John St. Amand, Telica CEO and president. "Linking our SS7-based multi-service switching architecture with Redback`s Subscriber Management System (SMS) provides the next generation of optimized network access for the 200 million+ current worldwide dial-up Internet subscribers."
The Telica solution aggregates and normalizes traffic from all types of access devices, performs critical new service delivery functions through SS7 integration, and provides continuous access through fault tolerant switching systems. All of these features complement Redback`s QoS, service management functions and delivery of integrated solutions. The combined service delivery and service management approach, coupled with dial-up user access, enhances the end-to-end functionality that is provided to the market.
"Telica`s intelligent switching systems will strengthen our leadership role in the subscriber management market by enabling us to reach all Internet users," said Dennis Barsema, CEO of Redback. "We analyzed the market and found Telica`s solutions to be the most innovative by providing SS7 integration with multi-service broadband switching. Their technologies will provide connectivity to the huge installed base of traditional PSTN Internet subscribers."
"Redback expands its value in service provider networks by strategically partnering with Telica for enhanced service delivery and subscriber management," commented Christin Flynn, a senior analyst at Yankee Group. "Their joint efforts will allow their service provider customers to rise to the challenge of offering differentiated services, data or voice, for all types of Internet subscribers, services that are critical for the attraction and retention of end-user customers in an increasingly commoditized Internet access market. Through its partnership with Telica, Redback can take its product offering to the next level by giving its customers a clear path for offering future services, and Telica hits the ground running by strategically partnering with an industry leader from day one."

ATLANTA--(BUSINESS WIRE)--June 5, 2000--
Company Leverages Leadership Position to Extend Network Services for
Customer Base Encompassing Nearly 70 percent of U.S. DSL Market
Redback Networks (Nasdaq:RBAK) will highlight its market leadership position at SUPERCOMM this week by demonstrating its full spectrum of products for building the New Access Network.
Redback will showcase its Subscriber Management System(TM) (SMS) 10000 and newly introduced metro optical networking platform, the SmartEdge(TM) 800. Both the SMS and SmartEdge solutions were designed with the common goal of helping Redback`s extensive base of more than 190 carrier and service provider customers evolve their legacy networks to next-generation infrastructures that enable high-margin dynamic services.
(Editors Note: Redback`s SmartEdge 800 will be on display in live demonstrations this week at the SUPERCOMM Trade Show in Atlanta at booth 2929, June 6 - 8, 2000.)
Redback continued to lead in production deployments of broadband subscriber management systems at the end of the first quarter, 2000. According to market research firm Telechoice (Denver, Colo.), nearly 70 percent of Digital Subscriber Line (DSL) traffic in North America traveled through a handful of major carriers, including SBC, Bell Atlantic, GTE, UUNet, Qwest and Covad. All of these carriers are Redback customers.
"Redback is already the industry standard in subscriber management systems and is rapidly making progress in the metro optical equipment market," said Ajay Diwan, vice president at Goldman Sachs. "We believe that first mover advantage is particularly important in the subscriber management market. Redback`s installed base of SMSs are at the nucleus of broadband networks, managing the critical link between the local network and the Internet. Once installed, the software intensive nature of this platform makes it very difficult to switch to a competitor`s product."
Last week, Redback further extended its market leadership in developing equipment for the New Access Network with the introduction of the SmartEdge platform. The SmartEdge is in beta trials with Qwest, Genuity (a business unit of GTE); and Dutch service provider Cistron; the platform will be available in the third quarter of 2000.

REDBACK NETWORKS STRENGTHENS ASIA PACIFIC TEAM
Jun 05, 2000 (AsiaPulse via COMTEX) -- SINGAPORE, 5 June PRNI-HK-AsiaNet - To
meet strong demand growth for new access networks and broadband aggregation in
Asia Pacific, Redback Networks (NASDAQ: RBAK), a leading high-speed networking
equipment provider, has strengthened its in-region team with several senior
appointments.
Since May, more than ten executives have been added to Redback`s office network
in Australia, China, Hong Kong, Japan, Korea, Singapore, Taiwan, and Thailand.
The beefed up team will continue to serve its customers in partnership with an
extensive network of resellers and distributors that covers virtually every
market in Asia.
Redback`s expansion is a direct result of the increase in demand for high
bandwidth telecom services in Asia, including broadband access technologies such
as Digital Subscriber Line (DSL), cable, and wireless. Sakina Dhilawala,
research manager for Pyramid Research, said: "With the proliferation of services
within the Internet space, consumers and enterprise users alike are projected to
develop an insatiable appetite for broadband connectivity. Pyramid Research
projects broadband usage in Asia Pacific to increase by about 300% from 1999 to
2004, to about 90 million subscribers. In addition, we expect that up to 20% of
Asia`s almost 290 million mobile subscribers will be net-enabled by 2004, with
significantly higher bandwidth capabilities to handle the higher loads that
future services will demand."
"Redback Networks represents a new wave of networking equipment providers that
is offering practical business solutions to carriers, service providers and
enterprises," said Steve Young, Vice President, Asia Pacific Operations. "These
businesses, especially in Asia, are interested in practical, easy to deploy
solutions that have a direct, immediate benefit to their bottomline. That`s why
Asia Pacific is highly strategic to us.
Some key appointments include:
China
Mr. Cui Yun joins Redback as sales manager for China, reporting to Ben Tay, area
sales director for Greater China. Cui brings to his post over eight years of
sales experience in China`s infotech market. Prior to Redback he was 3Com`s
district manager for the company`s Northern China telecom division.
Japan
Mr. Greig Bannister joins the Redback team in Japan as Network Consultant,
responsible for network design, sales and system engineering, as well as
customer support. A fluent Japanese speaker, Bannister began his career with
Fujitsu Australia, building a strong technical background in networking and the
Internet.
Korea
Mr. Kyu-Cheol Shin joins Redback as country manager for Korea, bringing with him
more than ten years` experience in the country`s rapidly evolving Internet
industry. Shin was previously with Newbridge Korea, where he directed its sales
and channel operations.
Singapore
Mr. David Ko is Redback`s marketing director for the Asia-Pacific region. Ko has
extensive experience in the public relations and marketing industry, having
spent five years at management level with top multinational agencies including
Hill and Knowlton and Edelman International. Prior to Redback, Ko was with Cisco
where he managed the public relations program for the North Asia region
including Korea, Taiwan, China and Hong Kong.
Taiwan
Mr. Richard Huang, a 15-year veteran of the industry, is Redback`s newly
appointed country manager for Taiwan. Before he joined Redback, Huang was the
country manager of GRIC for Taiwan and Hong Kong, where he directed the
company`s co-operative activities with carriers and ISPs on VoIP (Voice over IP)
and roaming businesses. Prior to GRIC, Huang was a key member of Cisco Systems`
Taiwan sales team for four years.
Said Steve Young: "With expanded operations, we are in a better position to meet
our customers` needs, and continue building our success on theirs. As a matter
of fact, over 200 carriers and service providers worldwide already rely on
Redback for broadband deployment."
In Asia, Redback has already announced several deals with major carriers earlier
this year to supply its Subscriber Management Systems (SMS) for rapid deployment
of broadband access and services. Key customers include Guangdong PTA, MOSCOM in
Philippines, Singapore Telecom, Taiwan`s Chunghwa Telecom and Telecom New
Zealand, among others.
Existing Redback customers elsewhere in the world include Bell Canada,
Concentric Network, Genuity (GTE Corp.), Qwest, UUNET, Casema, France Telecom,
Riodata, and many more.

Was meint ihr?
