Überall klingelt es - die Handymanie greift um sich! In den USA treibt diese Erscheinung bereits die seltsamsten Blüten: So wurden neben den Raucher-Ecken nun die ersten Zonen für Handysüchtige eingerichtet
Die Finnen sind der Inbegriff für den Handy-Boom. Einen Teil zu diesem Erfolg trägt der Firmensitz bei: Von den rund fünf Millionen Einwohnern des skandinavischen Landes besitzen 70 Prozent ein Mobilfunkgerät. Die Finnen sind sehr experimentierfreudig und schnell für neue Technologien zu begeistern. Wenn der Branchenprimus seine Konkurrenz mit neuen Innovationen ins Schwitzen bringt, hat er diese zuvor mit Erfolg im heimatlichen Hafen erprobt.
Mit diesem Geheimrezept befindet sich Nokia in einer beneidenswerten Lage: Der Konzern gibt die neuesten Trends in der Mobilfunkbranche vor und baut somit seine Vormachtsstellung unaufhaltsam aus. Im abgelaufenen Jahr von 22,5 auf 26,9 Prozent Marktanteil. Die bunten Handys des Trend-Setter gehen wie warme Semmel über den Ladentisch: Mit über 76 Millionen verkauften Telefonen konnte Nokia seinen Absatz nahezu verdoppeln. Die Basis für künftig steigende Kurse ist das Wachstum des Unternehmens - und diesem ist keine Grenze gesetzt. In den kommenden zwei Jahren wird sich die Zahl der Mobilfunknutzer lt. Schätzungen weltweit auf eine Milliarde verdoppeln. Um sich ein großes Stück von diesem Kuchen anschneiden zu können, verknüpft der Finne seine führende Position mit dem Wachstumsmarkt Internet. Durch WAP und UMTS werden in nicht mehr allzu ferner Zukunft E-Mails, Internetsurfen und Aktienhandel per Handy zum Alltag gehören. Nokia ist aber nicht nur im Mobilfunkmarkt tätig, zusammen mit dem Partner Checkpoint Software entwickeln die beiden Firmen Sicherheitslösungen für Internetanwendungen – e benfalls ein gigantischer Wachstumsmarkt, was zuletzt Hackerangriffe auf größere Webunternehmen wie Yahoo und Amazon bewiesen haben.
Das excellente Mangament um den Firmenchef Oilila (oder so ähnlich), der vorige Woche durchgeführte Aktiensplitt im Verhältnis 4:1, die Schaffung von Shareholder Value, das atemberaubende Wachstum, die konstant guten Zahlen und durchgeführten Aktiensplitts und die glänzenden Aussichten werden der Aktie auch weiterhin Auftrieb bringen. Nokia ist mittlerweile das teuerste Unternehmen Europas und ein echter BlueChip im EuroStoxx.
Der Titel ist nichts für Daytrader oder Zocker, sondern sollte von den Investoren mit langfristigem Horizont als Basisanlage angesehen werden. . Die Aktie konnte sich sehr gut der allgemeinen High-Tech Schwäche entziehen und zeigte in den letzten Wochen relative Stärke.
Wenn sich jemand nur eine einzige Aktie ins Depot legen würde, dann sollte dies unbedingt Nokia sein! Dies ist ein typischer Kostolany Wert – Kaufen, Schlaftablette nehmen, 10 Jahre liegen lassen und sich dann über die Gewinne freuen!

Ich habe mir Ende April, als der Wert mit heruntergezogen wurde, ein paar Nokia zugelegt und klopfe mir immer noch auf die Schulter deswegen. Die Qualität der Produkte spricht ja auch für sich.

möchte Euch allen sagen, dass ich Nokia-Akten im April 1998 gekauft habe, die mich steinreich gemacht haben. Splittbereinigt habe ich sage und schreibe DM 10,-- bezahlt und Ihr wisst selbst, wo der Kurs heute steht. Also, seid guten Mutes und haltet eure Aktien solange ihr könnt. Etwas besseres könnt ihr nicht machen. Wünsche uns allen noch viel Spass mit unserer Nokia!!:-))))

Handys sind in

Im abgelaufenen Jahr verdreifachte sich der Kurs des finnischen Handyherstellers und für die Zukunft soll es so weitergehen. Als weltgrößter Mobiltelefonhersteller wird auch in Zukunft gutes Geld verdient werden können. Da der neue UMTS Standard in kürze auf den Markt kommt, werden sich viele Handy - Besitzer ein neues Gerät zulegen, da man mit ihm dann im Internet problemlos einkaufen kann. Was außerdem noch für Nokia spricht ist, das trotz der sinkenden Preise für die Mobilfunkgeräte weiterhin rund 25 Prozent pro Gerät verdient wird. Deswegen lohnt sich auch jetzt noch der Einstieg.

Nokia ist wesentlich geiler als Sex.

Habe aber seit kurzem auch eine zweite Geliebte, nämlich
Ericsson.
Die neue Technologie von Ericsson (Bluetooth) scheint wirklich
gut einzuschlagen.

Zum Handymarkt selbst.

Habe heute auf SAT1 einen Bericht von einer Unternehmensberatung
gesehen.

Handynutzer zur Zeit in BRD ca. 20 Mio.

Bis Jahresende sollen es doppelt so viele sein.

Hallo nochmal,

Ich hab mir mal die Mühe gemacht und bei verschiedenen
Investmentfonds den Anteil bestimmter Fonds an Nokia
nachgeschaut.

Ich war bei folgenden Gesellschaften:

DWS, Deka, Union, Fidelity

Dabei hab ich mir die 10 größten Einzelwerte z. B. bei
Technologiefonds, Telekommunikationsfonds, Euro-Stoxx-50-Fonds,
Europa-Fonds, Nordic-Fonds, Europa-Dynamik-Fonds bzw. Global-
Dynamik-Fonds anzeigen lassen. Die Aufstellungen der Investmentfonds waren relativ aktuell. (Ältestes Datum: April 2000)

Mit folgendem Resultat.

Sämtliche oben genannten Investmentgesellschaften sind ganz
dick in Nokia investiert (z. T. Fondsanteil von fast 10 %).

Nach meiner Meinung wird es für den Kurs von Nokia und damit
für uns erst gefährlich, wenn die Fondsgesellschaften anfangen
das Vertrauen in Nokia zu verlieren und ihre Bestände massiv
abbauen.

Was meint ihr dazu ???

Ericsson Telefon AB, Stockholm, bereiten den Börsengang ihres Mobildaten-Joint-Ventures Symbian vor, schreibt der "Sunday Telegraph". Goldman Sachs Group Inc und Morgan Stanley Dean Witter & Co, beide New York, konkurrierten derzeit um das Mandat für das Listing von Symbian, einem Unternehmen, das nach Meinung einiger Beobachtern eine herausragende Rolle bei der mobilen Datenkommunikation einnehmen dürfte.


Der Chief Executive von Psion, David Levin, hatte zwar einen Börsengang von Symbian für mindestens 18 Monate ausgeschlossen. Doch Insider meinen, dass Psion nun den Termin vorverlegen möchte, um so Mittel für die weitere Geschäftsentwicklung zu erlösen und die derzeitige Begeisterung der Märkte für das Mobildatengeschäft zu nutzen. Der Liebling der Analysten heiße Nokia. 55 Bankexperten würden das Mobiltelefon-Papier zu Kauf empfehlen. Zu Recht: Die Aktie sei mit einem Kursplus von 60.000% seit 1992 eines der erfolgreichsten Anlageobjekte.

Nokia habe es in den vergangenen Jahren geschafft, sich gegen die Konkurrenten Ericsson und Motorola durchzusetzen und den Vorsprung als Nummer eins bei Handys auszubauen. Neuen Schwung in die Erfolgsaktie bringe jetzt der mobile Datenverkehr. Experten würden schätzen, dass sich bis 2003 die Zahl der Funkdatennutzer vervielfache. Als führender Mobiltelefon-Anbieter werde Nokia am meisten profitieren.

Zur Ausarbeitung weiterer Lösungen für Wireless Application Protocol
( WAP) wollen Hewlett- Packard India und Nokia zusammenarbeiten. Das Produktpacket, welches angeboten werden soll, heißt WAPserv und beinhaltet Hardware, Beratung, Ausbildung und Integration.
Ganesh Ayvar, Präsident von Hewlett-Packard India Ltd. geht davon aus, dass WAP der richtige Weg in einen zukünftigen kabellosen Internetzugang ist.

Den Kunden bietet WAPserv den standardtechnischen WAP- Zugang an, also e-mail, Aktienkurse, Flüge u.ä.

Hi Udo

Bin bei Mobilfunkunternehmen beschäftigt, welches mit NOKIA Equipment arbeitet.
Zu UMTS: Wie du schon sagst hat UMTS ganz andere technische Voraussetzungen als ein 900/ 1800 GSM Netzwerk. Benötigt wird abgesehen von neuen Handies, wird im Netzwerk für jeden Standort neues Equipment benötigt, das in der Übergangsphase bis die anderen Netze ersetzt werden (Was ja locker 10 JAhre sein kann, da nicht jeder sofort umsteigt), neben das bestehende Equipment gestellt wird.
Für Österreich wo ein 1800 GSM Betreiber ca. 3000 Standorte benötigt, und ein Equipment an die 80.000-100.000 Mark kostet, kannst Du die ungefähr vorstellen, vieviele Millarden pro NETZBETREIBER notwendig sind, um ein UMTS Netzwerk auf die Beine zu stellen. D.h. läuft die Sache an, wird Nokia als Ausrüster weltweit etliche Millarden Aufträge wieder an Land ziehen.

kein Betreiber wird seine Kunden dadurch verprellen, daß er die Infrastruktur abbaut, und Kunden zu einem Neukauf eines Handys zwingt. Davon abgesehen dauert der Aufbau einer flächendeckenden Infrastruktur einige Zeit, sodaß die Betreiber eh erst Prioritäten setzen müssen (Ballungsgebiete, u.a.).

Warum also eine Infrastruktur abbauen? Die bringt mit wenig Aufwand viel Geld. Jedenfalls wird Nokia & Co. viel Geld mit dem Umbau verdienen. Da Zeit Geld ist und eh keiner sofort alles liefern kann, machen die Hersteller die Preise.

Habe auch Ericsson in meinem Depot.

Denn wer hat bei jedem Goldrausch bisher am meisten
und auf jeden Fall profitiert. Die Firmen die den
Goldwäschern Schaufel und Pickel verkauft haben.

Von den Goldschürfern sind nur die wenigsten reich
geworden.

Nokia and AMD collaborate on new flash memory devices

JUN 22, 2000, M2 Communications - Finnish mobile manufacturer Nokia has
collaborated with the US-based integrated circuit supplier AMD to launch two new
flash memory products - the 32Mb Am29BDS323 and the 64Mb Am29BDS643 - for
cellular phones.

AMD worked together with Nokia to develop the devices, becoming the first
supplier to meet Nokia`s flash memory requirements for addressing the high data
rates of next generation cellular phones based on GPRS, EDGE and 3G
technologies.

Both the Am29BDS323 and the Am29BDS643 are able to continuously read data from
one memory bank while executing erase/program functions in another bank through
AMD`s Simultaneous Read/Write technology. The Am29BDS323 has two independent
memory banks of 8 Mb and 24Mb while the Am29BDS643 is partitioned into two banks
of 16Mb and 48Mb.

Other features include AMD`s Super Low Voltage technology which provides single
1.8 volt read, program, and erase capability, operating speeds from 40MHz to
54MHz and a burst access time of 13.5ns in the 32Mb model and 20ns in the 64Mb
model.

denke mal, wir sehen eine tech. Korrektur. Nichts unübliches. Im Net- und Tech- Sektor kommen ganz schnell mal Volatilitäten zwischen 5 und 10 % zustande. Die Press-Realeases zeigen eindeutig, daß Nokia auf dem richtigen Weg sind. Also keine Beunruhigung.

Shares of Nokia (NOK: news, msgs) is losing 4 11/16, or 7.7 percent, to 56 5/16. The stock is the most active on the NYSE with 12.5 million shares traded. According to Theflyonthewall.com, there is speculation in the market that the world`s biggest mobile phone seller was interested in buying Qualcomm (QCOM: news, msgs). The banter has since picked up on the Yahoo and Raging Bull message boards. Qualcomm (QCOM: news, msgs) is rallying 7, or 11 percent, to 71 1/2.

von drüben bist Du also? Hier spricht ein "Südstädter". Danke für die Info. Aber so richtig beunruhigt bin ich bei Nokia eigentlich nie. Ich denke auch, daß die Erfolgsstory wie bisher die nächsten Jahre fortgeführt werden kann, einfach schon aufgrund der vorhandenen Marktpositionierung.
Ein paar Motorola habe ich mir jetzt auch reingelegt, einfach weil der Preisverfall in dieser Form übertrieben war und ich die Zukunftsaussichten auch für bestens halte.
Der Marktführer ist und bleibt aber Nokia und rechtfertigt somit für mich auch die höhere Bewertung. Oder kannst Du Dir vorstellen, daß jemand Nokia vom ersten Platz noch verdrängen könnte?
Wer schrieb hier neulich das wäre Jedermanns-Lieblings-Aktie und sämtliche Fonds haben im Schnitt 10% Nokia-Depotanteil.

sehe ich genau so. Nokia ist und bleibt die Nummer 1. Dieser Konzern entwickelt sich prächtig. Mal sehen, wie lange die Konsolidierung anhält und wo sie endet, vieleicht leg ich nach.
Mal was anderes; wenn du aus der Südstadt kommst und ein echter Südstädter bist, gehe ich doch davon aus, daß du Fortuna-Fan bist.
Habe nach dem Abstieg nicht mehr viel mitbekommen, nur, daß einige Jungs gewechselt haben. Bin mal gespannt, wie das 3.Liga-Team aussehen soll.

Hallo Rainer, Fußball gehört für mich wie das Investing mit zu den größten Hobbies. Komisch, diese QCOM-Übernahmegerüchte höre ich schon seit längerem. Ist da was unterwegs? Schlimm würde ich das nicht finden, eine Übernahme kostet eben Geld und diese werden an der Börse kurzfristig sehr negativ angesehen. Beispiel: Commerce one und Appnet.Bei Bekanntgabe der Fusion beider Unternehmen verlor CMRC 18 %. Natürlich eine astreine Gelegenheit, ein paar CMRC ins Depot zu legen.

Schlau wie ich bin habe ich sie mir davor ins Depot gelegt, zu 55,80 Euro. Ganz schön pfiffig was? Qualcomm an sich scheint doch ein sehr gesundes Unternehmen zu sein, was ich so auf die schnelle nachlesen konnte. Vorher hatte ich mich noch nicht mit dem Wert befasst. Was hältst Du von der oben auf englisch geposteten Meldung, daß das Fehlen des CDMA Handsets ein grosser Nachteil für Nokia sei, da sich diese Handsets einer verstärkten Nachfrage erfreuen? Der Handy-Markt erlebt seit einem Jahr gewaltige Veränderungen: WAP, UMTS und Bluetooth-Technik sind die Schlagworte eines Zukunftsmarkts mit gewinnträchtigem Potential. Darüber sprach Kristina Greene mit Janne Jormalainen, Vize-Präsident des Bereichs Product Marketing bei Nokia.


In den vergangenen Tagen hat Nokia sowohl in China als auch in der Türkei wichtige Verträge abgeschlossen: in China hat Nokia DSL und DSLAM-Lizensen bekommen, in der Türkei soll das Mobilnetzwerk ausgeweitet werden. Weist dies auf neue, außereuropäische Prioritäten hin ?
Jormalainen: Wir verfolgen keine spezifisch geographischen Prioritäten. Unsere Positionen sind sowohl in Asien als auch in Europa und in den USA stark, auch wenn wir uns im Moment tatsächlich sehr auf die USA und China konzentrieren. Doch das Geschäft bleibt global, zielt auf globalen Service und globale Produkte. Technisch betrachtet ist unser Augenmerk auf den Start des mobilen Internets gerichtet.

Wie bewerten Sie den chinesischen Markt ?

Jormalainen: Er hat ein enormes Wachstumspotential. Wichtig und vielversprechend für uns ist, dass die Chinesen ein sehr kleines Festnetz haben. Wir haben beobachtet, dass sich die Leute nun wie wild auf drahtlose Produkte stürzen: Der Markt wird rasant wachsen, und dies umso mehr, als die allgemeinen Wirtschaftsindikatoren nach oben schnellen. Ich glaube, dass sich die Service-Applikationen an die einzelnen Märkte anpassen werden und sich anpassen müssen. Bestimmte Anwendungen – sogenannte „Killer-Applications“, die sich auf dem Markt durchsetzen und von der Konkurrenz abheben – werden in einem Land sofort Erfolg haben und in einem anderen nichts bringen. Ich bin der festen Überzeugung, dass China eine Schlüsselrolle bei der Definition dieser „Killer-Applications“ spielen wird.

Was könnten diese Applikationen sein ?

Jormalainen: Wenn ich das voraussagen könnte, wäre ich ein reicher Mann. Nein, der Punkt ist, dass jeder Anwendung seine Lieblings-Applikation haben wird. Die globalen Dienste werden als Plattform im Hintergrund bleiben. Die Dienste werden sich in Zukunft den einzelnen Nutzerbedürfnissen anpassen, und nicht etwa länderspezifisch werden. Produktentwickler müssen verstärkt auf Personalisierung setzen, da jeder von uns seine Vorzüge und Prioritäten hat – ich frage immer die gleichen Börsennachrichten ab. Sie wollen Fußballergebnisse haben, oder wissen, was Ihr Lieblingsrestaurant für ein Tagesmenü bietet. Zeit ist Geld, und je schneller und gezielter der Anwender auf die gewollten Informationen zurückgreifen kann, desto öfter kommt er. Und umso besser für die Werbeindustrie.

Vor zwei Wochen präsentierte Ericsson das erste serienreife Bluetooth-Handy. Branchenkenner gehen von einem jährlichen Wachstum von mehr als 60 % aus und halten einen weltweiten Bluetooth-Umsatz von rund 37 Mill. Dollar für möglich. Ist Nokia in Verzug?

Jormalainen: Unsere Politik war es immer, Produkte nicht verfrüht anzukündigen, sondern sie gleich auf den Markt zu bringen. Dass ein bestimmtes Produkt schneller auf dem Markt ist, heißt nicht unbedingt, dass sich die Wettbewerbssituation für andere Unternehmer ändert.

Als WAP-Geräte neu im Gespräch waren, machte Nokia aber eine sehr verfrühte Ankündigung. Es hat lange gedauert, bis das Produkt auf den Markt kam, und darunter hat Nokias Image stark gelitten.

Jormalainen: Ich möchte diesen Punkt nicht weiter besprechen. Wenn neue Technologie vorgestellt wird, beinhaltet sie sozusagen ein Maß Unsicherheit, birgt Kompatibilitätsschwierigkeiten. Es stellt sich die Frage, wie die Technologie am unteren Ende der Wertkette präsentiert wird. Uns geht es vordergründig darum, den Nutzer zufriedenzustellen. Wenn die Voraussetzung dafür ist, dass wir die Markteinführung eines Gerätes verschieben, ist es uns das wert. Der Fokus muss immer beim Kunden stehen – es hat keinen Sinn, Technologie allein aus Prestigezwecken vorzustellen.

Wann wird Nokia ein Bluetooth-Gerät ankündigen ?

Jormalainen: Ich glaube, wir haben uns Anfang des Jahres festgelegt. Ich will hier und jetzt keine weiteren Einzelheiten preisgeben.

Geht es bei Bluetooth nicht vielfach um sekundäre Entwicklungen? Muss der vielzitierte Kühlschrank wirklich mit dem Toaster und dem Mülleimer kommunizieren?

Jormalainen: Das erleben wir vielleicht in dreißig Jahren. Ich persönlich habe keinen Gebrauch dafür – mir ist es an einfachen, wesentlichen Diensten gelegen, wie dem Kontakt zu meiner Familie, Informationen, wenn ich unterwegs bin, wenn ich den Weg verloren habe. Ich glaube nicht, dass Küchengeräte miteinander kommunizieren müssen. Es sind diese kleinen, einfachen Dinge, die sich als „Killer Applications“ herausstellen werden. In wenigen Jahren werden diese Anwendungen ausgereift sein. Durch verbesserte Anwendungen und neue multimediale Möglichkeiten wird ein beträchtlicher Wertgewinn erzielt. Das sind die Veränderungen, die die neue Technologie bringt.

Nutzungskosten sind für Kunden und Werber ein heisses Thema. Wann erwarten Sie die Einführung von WAP-Flatrate-Diensten in Europa?

Jormalainen: Tarifkonzepte ändern sich von Land zu Land und in den USA sogar von Stadt zu Stadt. Davon abgesehen bin ich mir sicher, dass der WAP-Service selbst in wenigen Jahren komplett umsonst zu haben sein wird. Dann lautet die zentrale Frage, wofür die Nutzer bereit sind, zu zahlen, und ob – und wieviel - Werbung sie akzeptieren.

Das Wireless Application Protokol zieht viel Aufmerksamkeit und Kritik auf sich. Eine wichtige Angelegenheit ist dabei das Thema Sicherheit.

Jormalainen: Ich sehe verschiedene Sicherheitsbedürfnisse. Sie sind davon abhängig, was eine Person will, was sie nutzt. Es können verschiedene Sorten von Information gefährdet sein: Daten zum Aufenthaltsort und zur Identität oder zum Konsumprofil des Nutzers – ferner stellt sich die Frage, ob ein Unbefugter das Handy und die Bankidentität nutzen könnte. Es könnten außerdem große Datenmengen in verschiedenen Transaktionsstadien entschlüsselt werden, zwischen dem Nutzer und der Bank, zwischen dem Gerät und dem Server.

Die Abrechnung für WAP-Dienste ist eine noch weitgehend unbewältigte Angelegenheit. Wie werden sich die vorhandenen Modelle nach Ihrer Einschätzung entwickeln, welche setzen sich durch ?

Jormalainen: Ich erwarte nicht, dass ein einziges Modell obsiegt – alles beruht auf der jeweiligen Anwendung und davon werden wird bald zigtausend haben. Verschiedene Dienste werden nach ebenso verschiedenen Rechnungsmodellen verlangen, wie heute auf dem Festnetz. Der Service wird die Rechnungsmodelle bestimmen, und der Markt wird die besten festhalten.

Vielen WAP-Enttäuschten erscheint UMTS als Allheilmittel – doch Marktbeobachter behaupten, dass die Technik erst in sechs bis sieben Jahren ihren Durchbruch erlebt. Wie stehen Sie dazu ?

Jormalainen: Ich sehe da überhaupt kein Problem oder auch keine Gründe, warum dieser Durchbruch später als 2002 stattfinden sollte. Jeder Anbieter will so schnell wie möglich ins Netz, Kunden für sich gewinnen, nach dem Motto „ich auch !“. Das UMTS birgt ein riesiges, noch ungeahntes Potential. Bereits im Jahr 2003 werden nach unseren Berechnungen mehr Handys als PCs für den Internetzugang genutzt. Unternehmen entwickeln ständig neue Technologien. Dabei ist es wesentlich, das Netzwerk von früh an aufzubauen, um den Anlauf nicht zu verspielen. Mögen die Besten gewinnen.

Welches Nokia–Modell benutzen Sie persönlich?

Jormalainen: Ich besitze eigentlich alle, aber ich habe immer das Communicator 9110 dabei. Damit kann ich telefonieren, surfen, meine Emails abrufen und vor allem SMS-Nachrichten verschicken, und zwar sehr schnell. In dem Bereich zumindest bin ich unschlagbar !

Nokia is the undeniable leader in consumer wireless handsets and increasingly, wireless infrastructure. They dominate on every continent due to an extremely deep R&D effort and a willingness to work with every technology instead of just one. They make phone that work with GSM, CDMA, they are developing the 3G standards and making the first wireless broadband devices into reality. This had made them insturmental in the development of many new wireless infrastructure systems and given them inroads into developing the infrastructure of wireless networks and licensing proprietary technology the same way Qualcomm has. Nokia is a much better stock than Qualcomm though. CDMA is a weak standard, and I have a feeling Nokia is working on something which will blow the doors off CDMA. Also, with the stampede of new wireless web phones and other devices such as the Palm VII, Nokia is poised to enjoy its most lucrative Christmas ever as consumers begin to think wireless. Regular news of Nokias success will continue to boost this stock all year and there really isn`t a bad time to buy it. I see Nokia`s growth and profit curve accelerating if anything over the next 5 years. They have the potential to be a wireless CISCO, except they have a consumer market in addition to infrastructure. Let`s not forget about all the Nokia technology going into all kinds of other devices through licensing. This company is here to stay. Buy it and hold.

Nokia and Telson partner to create new CDMA products

Nokia and Telson Electronics (Telson) today signed an agreement for
the joint development, manufacture and supply of CDMA products for
Korea and other markets, an initiative signaling the strengthening of
Nokia`s focus on the Korean market and its portfolio of CDMA
products. For Telson, the agreement will bring access to new market
segments with the leading brand of the industry.

Under the partnership, Nokia will leverage its CDMA competency to
provide the design and user interface for the products and provide

wide range of operating platforms and transport protocols. SyncML as
a common protocol for data synchronization will accelerate the growth
and adoption of wireless devices for use across a variety of business
and consumer applications.

"SyncML is one of the enablers of Nokia`s vision of the Mobile
Information Society. This demonstration puts Nokia on the leading
edge to making the vision come true," says Janne Jormalainen, Digital
Convergence Unit Vice President at Nokia Mobile Phones. “The
demonstration proves that SyncML has potential to rapidly emerge as
the de-facto standard for wireless and wireline synchronization."

Nokia demonstrated the world`s first wireless Internet
synchronization using SyncML over the hypertext transport protocol
(HTTP), used widely for Internet communication. In addition to the
demonstrations from Nokia and other SyncML founding members, the
SyncML Supporter Summit gave the over 100 delegates from leading
companies in the wireless and information technology industries an
opportunity to attend the hands-on presentations and discussions

Nokia has signed a contract with Finland`s third nationwide mobile
operator Finnish 2 G, for the delivery of WAP
(Wireless Application Protocol) infrastructure which will bring

As WAP becomes an exciting means to deliver more diverse content to a
growing number of mobile phone users, Nokia will provide a range of
WAP and mobile messaging equipment from the Nokia Artus product
family, to enable Finnish 2 G to deliver new Internet-based services
to their customers.

Nokia will supply its Nokia Artus Messaging Platform which serves as
a WAP gateway for mobile networks. This deal will also see the
delivery of the Nokia Artus SMS Center to cater for the introduction
of short message services as well as the Nokia Artus Messaging
Platform and Picture Messaging Application.

"We chose Nokia as the supplier of WAP and messaging solutions, as

M1 and Nokia begin 3G trials in Singapore



M1, one of the leading mobile operators in Singapore and Nokia will
begin field trials of 3rd Generation WCDMA technology this month,
setting the stage for the introduction of a new class of advanced
mobile applications and true mobile Internet access in Singapore.

The results of the trial will be used to evaluate the Nokia leading
edge 3G WCDMA technology in a real operating environment, including
demonstration of Internet Protocol (IP) based mobile services and
applications.

“M1 is one of the few mobile operators in the world to have
successfully launched both GSM and CDMA networks. It is only natural
therefore that we should take the lead in conducting trials on the
next generation of mobile technology which combines some of the best
elements of both of these systems,” said Neil Montefiore, Chief

“With Nokia, we have already demonstrated GPRS data calls over our
network and successfully carried out GPRS roaming trials with foreign
operators. I firmly believe that the transactional aspects of the
Internet will be predominantly carried over wireless networks within

The Nokia 3G WCDMA trial system comprises network equipment, software
and mobile terminals to allow thorough testing of coverage,
transmission speed, handovers, power control and general

including features such as the Smart Radio Concept for enhancing
mobile capacity.

Hi Leute,
ich habe mal in Sachen Nokia den Chart mir angesehen und bin auf eine Regelmässigkeit gestossen, die ich Euch nicht vorenthalten möchte. Im 6 Monats Chart mit 38 Tagelinie sieht man schön den schon sehr lange anhaltenden Aufwärtskanal der Aktie. Wenn man Mitte März, Angang und Mitte April und zu guter Letzt Ende Mai unter die Lupe nimmt sieht man, dass immer ein Durchbrechen der 38 Tagelinie nach unten mit ca.10 bis 19% immer zur Folge hatte, dass der Kurs einen guten Monat später regelrecht explodierte. Und wir befinden uns grade wieder charttechnisch knapp unter der 38 Tagelinie. Wenn der Markt mitspielt und wenn es keine Unternhemensmeldungen gibt, die nach unten drücken, dann erwarte ich bis Mitte/Ende Juli einen Kurs von 65-70 Euro.

Mit der Umstrukturierung des Nokia-Konzerns in den vergangenen Jahren gelang Jorma Ollila ein Bravourstück. Er krempelte die Geschäftsbereiche komplett um und richtete Nokia neu aus. Noch vor zehn Jahren lagen die Schwerpunkte in der Unterhaltungselektronik (27,5% des Konzernumsatzes), Datentechnik (21%), Kabel- und Maschinenbau (23%), Netzwerk (10,7%), Mo-biltelefone (10%) und verschiedenen Industrieprodukten (7,8%). Die unrentablen Geschäftsbereiche wurden verkauft, bzw. ausgegliedert und übrig blieb ein schlankes und ertragsstarkes Unternehmen (die Umsatzrendite liegt bei 23,5%). 1999 lag der Umsatzanteil der Mobilfunksparte bereits bei 66% -die Netzwerke steuerten 28% und Sonstiges 5% bei.
Der Konkurrenz ist Nokia meist einen Schritt voraus - dies führte beispielsweise zur Marktführerschaft der weltweiten Handy-Produktion. Die Top-Unternehmen der Branche sind Nokia mit 26,9% Marktanteil, Motorola (16,9%) und Ericsson (10,5%). Der Vorsprung konnte im abgelaufenen Jahr gegenüber 1998 erneut vergrößert werden. Dazu kommt, daß kein anderes Unternehmen eine so konsequente Ausrichtung vollzog. So beträgt beim langjährigen Konkurrenten Ericsson der Umsatzanteil der Mobilfunksparte nur 21% des Konzernumsatzes. Auch Motorola ist in zu viele Sparten untergliedert (unter anderem Halbleiter). Durch die Fokussierung ergibt sich ein strategischer Vorteil, begünstigt durch das Marktwachstum, das weiterhin überproportional im Vergleich zu den restlichen Geschäftsbereichen ist. Nokia ist aktuell laut Marktforschung Nummer 11 in der Rangliste der wertvollsten Unternehmen, sowie unter den Top 100 Unternehmen der beliebtesten Arbeitgeber in den USA - ein wesentlicher Faktor in einer Branche, die Fachkräfte dringend sucht.
Die Mobilfunksparte ist das Aushängeschild der Finnen. Eine breite Produktpalette soll die Kundenbedürfnisse optimal abdecken. Hier liegt auch der Schlüssel für den künftigen Unternehmenserfolg. Meist entscheidet der technologische Vorsprung über den Erfolg eines neuen Mobilfunkgerätes. So verzeichnete Nokia seinen letzten großen Erfolg Ende 1999, als sie als erstes Unternehmen ein Wap-fähiges Handy, das Modell 7110, am Markt lancierten. Bis heute kann das Unternehmen die immense Nachfrage nicht befriedigen.
Pluspunkte gegenüber der Konkurrenz sind vor allem die einfache Menüführung, das Fehlen von Netzproblemen, starker Empfang und die hohe Erreichbarkeit. Lediglich im Bereich der Datenkommunikation besitzt Rivale Ericsson laut Händlern Vorteile in der Datenanbindung. Auch in den wichtigen Punkten Design und Größe erhält Nokia Bestnoten.
Die “Mobilfunkflotte” der Finnen besteht aus individuellen Produkten, die zielgruppenspezifisch
entwickelt wurden. Das Modell 3210 ist überwiegend auf die Bedürfnisse junger Kunden ausgerichtet, im Mittelsegment ist das 6210 das Starprodukt. Im Luxussegment befindet sich das Modell 8210 - die Optik vermittelt Prestige. Internetzugang erhalten die Kunden allein mit dem 9110 Communicator; einem Organizer mit vielen Anwendungsmöglichkeiten für Ge-schäftsleute, der auch als Handy genutzt werden kann.
Das Ziel des Nokia Managements ist der Ausbau der Vorreiterrolle bei der Gestaltung der mobilen Informationsgesellschaft. Konkret bedeutet das die Stärkung der Marktführerschaft im Bereich der digitalen Welt, die Bewältigung der Herausforderung durch das Internet und das Integrieren des e-Business in den Mobilfunk. Finanzielle Ziele sind ein Nettoumsatzwachstum von jährlich 30 - 40%, sowie hohe Rentabilität und ein positiver Cashflow.
Investoren, die sich 1995 in Nokia angagierten, können auf eine Performance von ca. 2500% zurückblicken, während der Nasdaq im gleichen Zeitraum „nur“ ca. 525% zu-legte.

Nokia Mobilfunk-Geräte unterstützen künftig Java

Ein grosser Teil der Mobilfunk-Endgeräte von Nokia soll künftig auch die Programmiersprache Java unterstützen. Dies gab der finnische Konzern bekannt, der dem Exekutivkomitee des JCP 2.0 (Java Community ProcessSM 2.0 Program) beigetreten ist. Nokia wird sich in dieser Funktion aktiv an der Entwicklung neuer Java-Spezifikationen und Java-Anwendungsplattformen beteiligen. Als ideale Ergänzung zu WAP (Wireless Application Protocol) kann Java künftig mobile Endgeräte um neue Features und Funktionen bereichern.

"Die Java Programmierumgebung passt wunderbar mit unserer Vision der Mobilen Informations-gesellschaft zusammen und eröffnet eine neue Dimension der mobilen Kommunikation. RealNetworks - Nokia-Handy mit Musik

RealNetworks [Nasdaq: RNWK Kurs / Chart ] wird Multi-Media-Software an Nokia[ Kurs / Chart ] liefern. Der finnische Handykonzern wird seine neuen Handys mit den Programmen ausrüsten. Nutzer der Mobiltelefone werden somit künftig in der Lage sein, Musik und Videos über das Internet zu empfangen.

Es wird jedoch noch einige Zeit dauern, bis die neuen Funktionen genutzt werden können, da bisher die Übertragungsraten der Mobilfunknetze zu niedrig sind. Analysten rechnen damit, dass die ersten Geräte nächstes Jahr in Japan auf den Markt kommen. Auch in einigen Ländern Europas werden 2001 Netze mit den benötigten Übertragungsraten vorhanden sein. In den übrigen Ländern und den größten Gebieten in den Vereinigten Staaten werde es wohl noch bis 2002 dauern, bis die Multi-Media-Fähigkeiten der Handys genutzt werden können.

Nokia-Aktie – auf der Kippe

Es kommt knüppeldick für die Nokia-Aktie [ Kurs / Chart ] am Donnerstag. Das Papier ist charttechnisch angeschlagen und fundamental hagelt es schlechte Nachrichten im Umfeld des Telekomausrüsters. Analysten befürchten, die Branche wird diesmal „nur“ die Erwartungen erfüllen.

Ausgerechnet der Chef von Ericsson [ Kurs / Chart ], Kurt Hellström, hat zur erneuten Schwäche der Mobilfunk-Papiere am Donnerstag beigetragen. In einem Interview mit der schwedischen Presse warnte Hellström vor einem abnehmenden Wachstum der Branche wegen der UMTS-Kosten (Stock-World berichtete). Die Preise für die Lizenzen in Großbritannien seien viel zu hoch ausgefallen. Es bestehe die Gefahr, dass Telekomanbieter und –Ausrüster in Zukunft steigende Risiken tragen müssten und den umgebremsten Einstieg in die UMTS-Technologie scheuten, so der Konzernlenker.

Gebremste Kauf- und Sprechfreude könnte sich auch bei den Kunden breit machen, vermutet Nils Gunnar Billinger von der PTS. Die PTS ist das schwedische Pendant der Regulierungsbehörde für Telekommunikation. Billinger glaubt, sowohl die Handys, wie auch das Telefonieren könnte im Zeitalter von UMTS zu teuer werden. Der Boom bei der dritten Generation des Mobilfunks falle unter Umständen kleiner aus als erwartet.

Schon jetzt zeichnet sich ein Gipfel bei der Nachfrage nach Mobiltelefonen ab, behält Jeffrey Schlesinger von UBS Warburg recht. Die Lieferengpässe bei Mobiltelefonen und Komponenten lassen nach, so Schlesinger. Das erste mal seit langer Zeit würden in diesem Quartal nicht mehr Handys verkauft als im vergangenen, schätzt der Experte.

Die fundamentale Lage bei Nokia und Wettbewerbern ist sicherlich nicht dramatisch. Die Aktien der Unternehmen notieren allerdings auch auf einem hohen Niveau, die Investoren sind schlechte Nachrichten nicht gewohnt.

Das zeigt sich auch am Kurssturz der Handy-Papiere in den letzten Wochen. In den letzten Tagen haben die Anteilsscheine des Weltmarktführers Nokia mehr als 15 Prozent an Wert verloren. Bei 50 Euro liegt ein wichtiger charttechnischer Widerstand. Hält dieser nicht, könnte die Aktie schnell bis 45 Euro fallen. Der Chart auf Dollarbasis sieht noch einen Tick schlechter aus, auch hier ist 50 eine wichtige Marke.

Amazon.com WAP mobile commerce service expands to Germany



Nokia and Amazon.com have today announced the launch of the
www.amazon.de mobile commerce service for German-speaking consumers.
Users of WAP-enabled mobile phones are now able to find, discover,
and buy German and other language books and music CDs from Amazon’s
on-line catalogue. The service is localised with German content and
all products are shipped from Germany. Similar to the
www.amazon.co.uk service launched in February, the WAP service for
www.amazon.de will also be promoted in Club Nokia.

To sign up to Club Nokia, users should go to www.club.nokia.de and
register for the service online. Members will be provided with a user
ID and password and will be able to access the mobile Club Nokia
service with their WAP-enabled handset right away. The Amazon.de link
is easily accessible within the mobile Club Nokia site.

Goldman Sachs hat Nokia nach Wiederaufnahme der
Abdeckung in die Empfehlungsliste mit einem Kursziel von
glatt 65 EUR aufgenommen. Als eines der am besten
aufgestellten Unternehmen könne Nokia vom boomenden
Mobiltelefonmarkt profitieren, begründet Goldman Sachs. Es sei zu
erwarten, dass Nokia, deren neue Produktgeneration
innerhalb der nächsten zwei Jahre auf den Markt kommen
werde, seine Marktposition halte.

Nicht W@P, sonder UMTS ist die grosse Zukunft im Handy-Bereich.

Wer heute über den zeitlichen "Tellerrand" rausschaut und sich mal die Zukunft der Handy-Telefonie vorstellt wird recht schnell feststellen, dass nicht W@P mit seinen sehr hohen Kosten, durch die langsamen Verbindungen, die Zukunft sein wird, sondern UMTS.
Ich werde die 3 Jahre auf alle Fälle noch warten bis ich mit ISDN-Geschwindigkeit via Handy ins Internet gehe. Die neue Technik bietet viel mehr als das was wir uns heute vorstellen können.
Durch das grosse know how im Bereich der Handy-Fertigung ist für mich Nokia, DIE Aktie die man haben MUSS.
Nicht die Betreiber der UMTS-Netze haben für mich die grosse Phantasie. Unternehmen wie Telekom, Telefonica etc. müssen erst mal Unsummen in die Hand nehmen um dann über Jahre hinweg erst mal wieder dieses zurückzuholen. Dabei ist nicht an Gewinn zu denken, denn die Preise für die Provider werden weiter fallen.
Nokia oder auch Ericsson haben hier einen deutlichen Vorteil. Das Wissen ist vorhanden und die neuen Techniken können relativ schnell umgesetzt werden.
Auch wenn hier Goldgräberstimmung herrscht, setze ich nicht auf die Minenwerte, sondern auf die Hersteller der Schaufeln.

Cegetel chooses Nokia to expand its SFR mobile Network in France

Nokia and Cegetel have signed a contract worth more than EUR 300
million over 2000 and 2001 for a major expansion and optimisation of the SFR dual band GSM network.
Nokia will provide its advanced GSM equipment to enhance the quality and capacity in the SFR network throughout France, particularly in
its three most dense areas; Paris, Lyons and the French Riviera. Furthermore, this equipment will allow Cegetel to evolve smoothly
towards new technologies to be introduced within the network in future such as GPRS and UMTS.
Under the agreement, Nokia will supply Cegetel with GSM 900 and GSM 1800 base stations, including Nokia MetroSite and Nokia InSite and
the unique triple-mode Nokia UltraSite base stations. High capacity base station controllers will be provided for the expansion, as well as advanced quality and capacity features and the associated services covering project management, engineering, implementation, technical
support and maintenance. Cegetel will also benefit from Nokia`s Network Management System, NMS 5000, a centralised platform to monitor a multi-vendor network, covering all the GSM network elements.
This agreement is setting a new step in the partnership established between Nokia and Cegetel since the beginning of SFR cellular operations in 1987.

HELSINKI (dpa-AFX) - Der finnische Telekomausrüster Nokia Corp soll das Mobilfunknetz der dänischen Telefongesellschaft Tele Danmark um ein GPRS-Datenfunksystem erweitern. Der Start des GRPS-Dienstes ist Anfang des kommenden Jahres geplant, teilte Nokia am Mittwoch mit. Finanzielle Details zum Auftrag wurden nicht genannt.

GPRS (General Radio Packet Service) bietet dem Mobilfunkkunden im herkömmlichen GSM-Mobilfunknetz erstmals eine ständige Verbindung zum Internet, deren Übertragungstempo das Zweifache eines ISDN-Festnetzanschlusses erreichen kann. Dabei wird in der Regel nur die übertragene Datenmenge abgerechnet.

Marktbeobachter sehen das System als Vorstufe zum UMTS-Netz. Im Gegensatz zu UMTS nutzt GPRS die in Europa übliche GMS-Infrastruktur. Nokia hat nach eigenen Angaben bisher weltweit rund 40 GPRS-Aufträge von Mobilfunkbetreibern in Europa, den USA und Asien erhalten. Die Aktien von Telekommunikationsausrüstern gerieten in der vergangenen Woche unter Druck, nachdem Nokia (Kurs: EUR 48,90) darauf hinwies, dass die Telekommunikationsunternehmen versuchen dürften, einen Teil der hohen Kosten für die Einführung der UMTS-Technologie an die Infrastrukturanbieter weiterzuleiten. Dabei ist allerdings zu berücksichtigen, dass das Hauptinteresse der Telekomgesellschaften darin liegt, die neue Infrastruktur möglichst schnell aufzubauen, um die Kosten für den Erwerb der Lizenzen möglichst schnell wieder einzuspielen. Da bei Nokia weniger als 20% des EBIT auf die mobile Infrastruktur entfällt, erscheint der Kursrückgang auf den ersten Blick übertrieben. Dabei ist allerdings zu berücksichtigen, dass sich der Wettbewerb bei mobilen Endgeräten (Handys) erhöhen dürfte. Sony hat bereits angekündigt, das Unternehmen wolle seinen Marktanteil bei Handys von 2 bis 3% auf 20 bis 30% ausweiten. Auch Siemens verfolgt ehrgeizige Expansionsziele in diesem Bereich. Da dieser Wettbewerb über den Preis erfolgen dürfte, ist bei Nokia mit sinkenden Margen zu rechnen. Die Aktie bleibt zwar langfristig attraktiv, kurzfristig sollten aber Käufe zurückgestellt werden.

Eine entsprechende Vereinbarung sei unterzeichnet worden, teilte Nokia am Mittwoch in Helsinki mit. Auf Basis dieser Technik wollten beide Mobilfunkanbieter grenzüberschreitende Dienste anbieten. Die Lieferung werde noch in diesem Monat beginnen. Weder Nokia noch ein E-Plus-Sprecher in Düsseldorf machten Angaben über die Höhe des Kaufpreises. E-Plus gehört zu 77,5 Prozent zur KPN. GPRS (General Packet Radio Services) ist nach Angaben von Nokia eine wesentliche technische Voraussetzung, um Hochgeschwindigkeits-Daten im Mobilfunknetz zu übertragen. Außerdem würden Investoren von den am heutigen Freitag zur Veröffentlichung stehenden Arbeitsmarktdaten einen eher moderaten Anstieg erwarten, hieß es.

Bis 11.05 Uhr notierten Nokia bei einem Plus von 6,7% oder 3,55 Euro auf 56.95 Euro. Dabei lag der HEX-Index um 634.36 Zähler oder 4,2% höher auf 15.882,63.

In Stockholm legte Ericsson B 11,0 SEK oder 6,1% zu auf 190.5 SEK. Der SX-Index hatte 100,58 Punkte oder 1,7% auf 5.945,45 geklettert.

Am gestrigen Abend in New York hätten Holzverarbeiteraktien Kursverluste hinnehmen müssen, im Gegenzug hätten Wachstumswerte Kursgewinne verbucht, erklärte Esko Immonen, Analyst bei Bank Leonia in Helsinki.

"With this agreement ONE will take the next step in providing mobile Internet access to their customers," Nokia said in a statement. No financial details were given.

GPRS, a stepping stone to third-generation mobile networks, supports higher data transmission rates and will allow for always-on Internet connections.

ONE`s shareholders are German Viag (, Danish TeleDanmark (NYSE:TLD), Austrian RHI Telekom ( and Norwegian Telenor.

At end-June ONE had 730,000 customers using its GSM 1800 services nationwide, Nokia said.

Nokia to supply GPRS solution to Mobistar Belgium

Nokia and the Belgian mobile operator Mobistar have signed an agreement for the delivery of the Nokia GPRS Core network solution.
With the implementation of GPRS, Mobistar will be able to provide true Mobile Internet access to its subscribers - offering packet switched data via its GSM network. Mobistar will be ready to launch commercial applications using this new technology at the beginning of next year.

A pre-commercial system has already been onnected to the Mobistar network and has been used during the TM@B exhibition in Brussels at the beginning of June. The benefits of end-to-end GPRS services were illustrated, allowing secure, rapid, mobile access to applications such as Internet surfing and e-mail.

Blu to provide Mobile Internet services with WAP and GPRS technologies provided by Nokia
Leading Italian operator Blu will offer mobile Internet services based on WAP and GPRS technologies provided by Nokia.
Nokia and Blu signed a contract for the supply of Nokia GPRS solution that enables packet data transmission on mobile networks, providing
continuous high speed Internet access to Blu subscribers, wherever they are.
This new agreement is part of a larger but not exclusive relationship between the two companies. Blu chose Nokia also for the delivery of its WAP Gateway solution and for the development of support solutions for mobility such as real time information on airline schedules and traffic information. Nokia will also provide Blu with Nokia 7110 phones, compatible with WAP 1.1 standard.
Blu was the first mobile operator in Italy that launched at the beginning of its activity an Internet portal in order to provide its
subscribers with a range of advanced services (latest news, sport news, financial and banking services, booking and travel services)

Nokia to supply GSM 1800 network to Zhejiang Mobile Communications
Co., Ltd. in China

Nokia has been awarded a contract to supply a complete GSM 1800
network to the Zhejiang Mobile Communications Co., Ltd. in China.
Nokia has previously supplied Zhejiang`s GSM 900 network since 1995.
The agreement, valued at over USD 60 million was signed together with
two of Nokia`s joint ventures in China: Beijing Nokia Hangxing
Telecommunications Systems (BNT) Co., Ltd. and Beijing Nokia Mobile
Telecommunications Co., Ltd. (BNMT).

Deliveries have already begun and the network will be taken into use
before the end of this year. Zhejiang Mobile Communications Co.,
Ltd. which is a wholly-owned subsidiary of China Mobile (Hong Kong)
Ltd., and owns the second largest provincial GSM networks in China
with its 3.8 million subscribers. Together with the existing GSM 900
networks in the province, the new GSM 1800 network will enable
automatic dualband roaming functionality in the system and bring
enhanced coverage and additional capacity.

Nokia will deliver its latest generation I-series products including
mobile switching centers, base stations, and base station
controllers. The Nokia Network Management System will be supplied as
well as a full range of Professional Services covering Network
Planning, Project Management, Implementation, Commissioning and
Training.

SBC Communications signs agreement with Nokia to provide Wireless
Application Protocol service



WAP Infrastructure to Bring Internet-based Services to GSM and TDMA
Subscribers

SBC Wireless and Nokia today announced a multi-year agreement that
will enable SBC Wireless’ customers to access the Internet via their
wireless phone using Wireless Application Protocol (WAP) service on
both GSM and TDMA networks.

The agreement covers the deployment and integration of the Nokia
Artuse Messaging Platform and the Nokia MAX platforms, plus a range
of Wireless Internet Services, for SBC Wireless’ network. The
platforms and services will allow SBC Wireless to customize and
personalize the wireless Internet user experience, and allow its
wireless subscribers to easily access information from the Internet
or corporate Intranet related services.

The Nokia Artuse Messaging Platform, a WAP gateway, and the Nokia MAX
Platforms, a portal services technology, provide SBC Wireless with
the ability to customize and brand portal home pages for its wireless
Internet service. These home pages will offer links to WAP
applications, such as comparison shopping, restaurant and movie
guides, stock trading, driving directions, Internet searches, and
access to general news information.

Nokia will supply the platforms as part of the agreement to provide
enhanced wireless data and voice services for SBC Wireless
subscribers. Nokia also will provide a full range of professional

Nokia reports strong quarterly results with continued fast growth for
April – June 2000. Net sales totaled EUR 6 980 million, an increase
of 55% compared to the second quarter in 1999. Operating profit
increased by 60% to EUR 1 412 million, resulting in an operating
margin of 20.2%.

Jorma Ollila, Nokia Chairman and CEO, said: "Strong growth in the
global mobile communications market continued during the second
quarter. According to preliminary estimates, the number of mobile
phone users worldwide rose to over 570 million by the end of June.
This is well in line with our projection of over one billion mobile
phone subscribers globally before the end of 2002. We estimate that
the mobile phone market growth for the full year 2000 will cause the
total annual market volume to exceed 400 million units."

Gewinnwachstum möglicherweise gebremst Helsinki (dpa) - Der Aktienkurs des finnischen Mobiltelefonkonzerns Nokia ist am Donnerstag trotz hoher Wachstumsraten abgestürzt. Im ersten Halbjahr sei der Netto-Gewinn von knapp 1,1 auf gut 1,8 Milliarden Euro geklettert, teilte Nokia in Helsinki mit. Der Umsatz wuchs von 8,4 auf 13,5 Milliarden Euro. Dennoch sank der Nokia-Kurs wegen zurückhaltender Zukunftsprognosen am Mittag im XETRA-Handel um zwischenzeitlich rund 18 Prozent auf 48,40 Euro. Auf lange Sicht blieben die Wachstumsausssichten für Nokia unverändert, betonte der Konzern. Im dritten Quartal werde der Gewinn je Aktie jedoch wegen "des Zeitpunkts der Einführung neuer Produkte und saisonbedingter Faktoren" voraussichtlich unter dem Wert des zweiten Quartals liegen. Nokia ist der weltweit führende Anbieter von Mobiltelefonen.

Nokia dämpft Gewinnerwartungen für 3. Quartal Helsinki, 27. Jul (Reuters) - Der finnische Telekomausrüster Nokia hat im zweiten Quartal 2000 deutlich mehr als vor einem Jahr verdient, zugleich jedoch vor zu hohen Gewinnerwartungen in den kommenden Monaten gewarnt. So sei zwar der Vorsteuergewinn in den Monaten April bis Juni um 62 Prozent auf 1,42 Milliarden Euro geklettert, teilte das Unternehmen am Donnerstag mit. Das Ergebnis je Aktie im dritten Quartal werde allerdings diese Zuwachsraten nicht erreichen. Wegen der Einführung neuer Produkte werde mit Zahlen auf Vorjahresniveau gerechnet, hieß es. Die Aktie des weltgrößten Handy-Produzenten stürzte nach dieser Prognose um mehr als zehn Prozent auf 51,99 Euro ab.

Der Betriebsgewinn erhöhte sich um 60% auf EUR 1 412 Millionen, woraus sich eine Gewinnspanne von 20,2% ergibt.

Jorma Ollila, Chairman und CEO von Nokia, sagte: „Auch im zweiten Quartal verzeichnete der internationale Mobilfunkmarkt einen kräftigen Zuwachs. Vorläufigen Schätzungen zufolge stieg die Anzahl der Handy-Nutzer weltweit bis Ende Juni auf über 570 Millionen. Dies wird von unserer Prognose von global über einer Milliarde Mobiltelefonteilnehmern vor Ende des Jahres 2002 bekräftigt. Wir gehen davon aus, dass aufgrund des enormen Marktwachstums bei Mobiltelefonen im Jahr 2000 das Marktvolumen insgesamt 400 Millionen Stück übersteigen wird."

Kursverfall ist doch eine Superchance, habe gerade für 48 € gekauft

Ich möchte meine Analyse vonm 25.07.2000 nach Bekanntgabe der Zahlen anpassen. Zunächst: Nokia gab heute einen Quartalsgewinn von 0,20 Euro, entspricht in etwa 0.187 $, bekannt. Damit wurden die Analystenschätzungen im Konsens erfüllt. Die Börse reagierte mit einem Kursrückgang von 18 % auf aktuell 48 Euro, nachdem für das 3. Quartal eine Gewinnwarnung des Unternehmens bekannt wurde. Als Begründung führte man höhere Kosten für neue Produkte an. Analysten befürchten nun einen Rückgang der Wachstumsrate Richtung 30 bis 40 %.

Ich muß daher mein Kursziel an diesen Gegebenheiten revidieren und sehe bis auf Jahressicht lediglich noch ein Kurspotential bis max. 75 Euro. Langfristig bleibt Nokia interessant. Für spekulativ orientierte Anleger ist die Aktie auf dem Niveau ein Kauf.

Nokia warrants exercised for share subscription



A total of 2,919,104 Nokia shares were subscribed for after the
increase in the share capital registered on June 6, 2000. The shares
were subscribed for with the warrants attached to the Nokia Stock
Option Plans issued to the key personnel of Nokia. With the A
warrants of the Nokia Stock Option Plan 1995, a total of 203,200
shares were subscribed for, with the B warrants of the same Plan
1,545,120 shares and with the A and B warrants of the Nokia Stock
Option Plan 1997, a total of 1,170,784 shares. The issue of these
Stock Option Plans was approved by the Annual General Meetings of
March 30, 1995 and March 25, 1997, respectively.

The corresponding increase in the share capital, in total EUR
175,146.24 was registered in the Finnish Trade Register on July 28,
2000. As a result of the increase, the share capital of Nokia
currently is EUR 281,019,543.60 and the total number of shares is
4,683,659,060. Nokia received as additional shareholders` equity a
total of EUR 6,865,730.20.

The holders of the new shares are entitled to all shareholders`
rights from the registration date. The new shares will be listed on

Der Umsatzschwerpunkt des finnischen Technologiekonzerns Nokia (WKN 870737), so die Experten von Helaba Trust, liege im Bereich Mobiltelefone, wo er sich mit einem Marktanteil von 27% im abgelaufenen Geschäftsjahr an die Spitze absetzte und den Abstand zu Motorola (17%) und Ericsson (11%) ausbauen konnte.

Als Marktführer in diesem Segment komme Nokia in den Genuß von sehr guten Lieferverträgen, was sich bei Engpässen von Bauteilen als großer Vorteil erweise. Auch im Bereich Netzwerke (Mobilfunkinfrastruktur) gehöre Nokia zu den Top-Unternehmen. Hier dürften auch die Finnen von dem in den nächsten Jahren ansteigenden Investitionsvolumen der großen internationalen Telekommunikationsdienstleister profitieren.

Das Umsatzwachstum im Konzern habe sich im zweiten Quartal des laufenden Geschäftsjahres um 14%-Punkte auf 55% verlangsamt. Erstaunlicherweise habe die operative Marge im Segment Mobiltelefone gegenüber Q1 (24%) leicht gesteigert werden (25%) können. Andere Hersteller, insbesondere Ericsson und Siemens, hätten weniger Fortune und hätten über einen Mangel an Bauteilen geklagt, welcher das Wachstum behindere. Allerdings sei ein durchaus zu verschmerzender Rückgang der ohnehin außerordentlich hohen Marge bei Netzwerken (1,6%-Punkte) zu verzeichnen. Trotz der sehr guten Halbjahreszahlen trübe sich das Bild aufgrund des Ausblicks für das zweite Halbjahr deutlich ein.

Der Kurseinbruch nach Bekanntgabe der Halbjahreszahlen sei durch Äußerungen des Managements, wonach sich das Ergebnis in Q300 mindestens auf Vorjahresniveau bewegen würde, ausgelöst worden. Die verhaltene Kurzfristperspektive werde mit der zu erwartenden Kaufzurückhaltung im Vorfeld der Einführung neuer Produktgenerationen in Q4 sowie mit Vorleistungen für die Markteinführung erklärt.

Aufgrund eines unverändert harten Konkurrenzkampfes im Markt für Handys müsse mittelfristig mit Einbußen bei den Margen der Finnen gerechnet werden. Zudem dürfe die Mobilfunkinfrastruktur, bei der Nokia technisch und marktanteilsmäßig deutlich hinter Ericsson liege, wichtiger werden.

Katerstimmung an der NASDAQ. Der NASDAQ Comp. gibt 3.65% auf 3842 Punkte nach, während der DOW 0.66% auf 10586 Punkte hinzugewinnen kann, berichten die Experten des MWW-Börsenbriefes.

Der finnische Handyhersteller Nokia habe gestern die Zahlen für das zweite Quartal bekannt gegeben. Der Gewinn vor Steuern sei um 62% auf 1.42 Milliarden Euro (Erwartungswert 1.4 Milliarden Euro) geklettert, der Umsatz sei zudem um 55 % auf 6.98 Milliarden Euro, zweifellos ein hervorragendes Ergebnis gestiegen. Das Problem liege indes beim Ausblick für das 3. Quartal. Hier erwarte Nokia ein Ergebnis, dass unter dem des 2. Quartals liegen wird. Ursache des Gewinnrückgangs sollen Verzögerungen bei der Einführung neuer Handymodelle sein. Nach diesen Neuigkeiten habe es sofort Downgrades von zahlreichen US Investmenthäusern gehangelt. Die Nokia Aktie habe daraufhin gestern sage und schreibe 26.4% verloren und sei mit 41 1/16 $ aus dem Handel gegangen. Aus Sympathie mit Nokia seien zahlreiche andere Werte aus dem Wirelesssektor auf Tauchstation gegangen, wie z.B. Ericsson (-9.2%), Vodafon (-3.3%) oder Qualcomm (-4.5%).

Auf der Gewinnerseite hätten gestern Werte gestanden, die nur wenig mit Technologie in Verbindung gebracht werden könnten, wie z. B. Coca Cola (+2.7%), Exxon (+5.6%) oder American Express (+4.8%), so die Experten des MWW-Börsenbriefes weiter.

Gestern sei demzufolge ein schauerlicher Tag für alle Technologieinvestoren gewesen. Dennoch sollte man bei aller Enttäuschung und Verzweiflung die Kirche im Dorf lassen. Nokia habe für das 2. Quartal hervorragende Ergebnisse geliefert. Dass im 3. Quartal voraussichtlich etwas schwächere Gewinne ins Haus stehen, sei an für sich kein Drama. Leider reagiere der Markt in seiner augenblicklichen hochnervösen Verfassung auch schon auf kleinere Unliebsamkeiten mit einer Verkaufslawine. Shortseller würden in einer solchen Situation ihre Chance wittern und trieben durch Leerverkäufe die Kurse weiter nach unten. Fundamental habe sich bei Nokia jedoch wenig geändert. Die Finnen beherrschten als Weltmarktführer nach wie vor den boomenden Handymarkt, so das Resümee der Experten des MWW-Börsenbriefes.

Die Analysten des Investmenthauses Morgan Stanley Dean Witter stufen die Aktie des finnischen Technologiekonzerns Nokia (WKN 870737) von "Strong Buy" auf "Outperformer“ herab.

Nach Angaben des Unternehmens würden die Geschäftsaussichten für das dritte Quartal schlechter ausfallen als das zweite. Das Kursziel reduzieren die Experten gleichzeitig von 75 auf 65 Euro.

Daraufhin verspreche der EURO-STOX-50-Titel dem Anleger lediglich eine überdurchschnittliche Kursentwicklung.

Nokia noch keine Kaufgelegenheit

Holger Struck, Analyst bei M.M. Warburg, empfiehlt bei Nokia (WKN 870737) noch abzuwarten.

Durch den gestrigen Kursrutsch als Reaktion auf die Quartalszahlen habe sich die charttechnische Verfassung der Nokia-Aktie naturgemäß deutlich verschlechtert. Normalerweise seien derart heftige Abwärtsschübe innerhalb intakter Aufwärtstrends von Wachstumsaktien als ideale Einstiegsgelegenheiten anzusehen.

Doch leider sei die technische Ausgangslage in diesem Fall wesentlich schwieriger abschließend zu beurteilen, so dass man lediglich neue Ein- oder Ausstiegskriterien definieren könne und demgemäss noch abwarten müsse, wie der finnische Telekommunikationsausrüster sich in der nächsten Zeit charttechnisch verhalte.

Nach dem Double-Top bei 64,95 und 65 Euro sei mit dem Durchbruch durch den Aufwärtstrend vom Oktober 1999 (derzeit bei 52,3 Euro) und dem gestrigen Intra-Day-Test der gleitenden 200-Tage-Linie (bei 47,79) unübersehbarer charttechnischer Schaden entstanden.

Ein Stop-Loss bzw. Ausstiegskurs sei demgemäss knapp unterhalb des einstweiligen Tiefstandes vom 27. Juli zu setzen, der zusammen mit dem Low vom 17. April bei 42,5 immerhin die Chance habe, einen Boden auszubilden.

Die Lage der technischen Indikatoren stehe dabei aber noch eindeutig auf „Verkauf“ und befinde sich noch nicht auf einem Niveau, das eine neuerliche Oversold-Rallye ankündigen würde. Das echte Wiedereinstiegssignal bleibe somit eine eventuelle Reetablierung oberhalb der momentan gebrochenen Aufwärtstrendlinie bei 52,3.

Im Fazit eine eindeutige „Abwarteposition“, die klar vom nun folgenden Preisverhalten der Nokia-Aktie abhängig sei. Neue historische Höchststände Höchststände seien aber künftig nach dem Double-Top und der Trendbruchsituation sehr unwahrscheinlich.

Die KSK Pinneberg empfiehlt Nokia (WKN 870737) zum Kauf.

Nokia befinde sich auch im laufenden Geschäftsjahr weiter auf einem beeindruckenden Wachstumskurs. Getragen vor allem von dem Geschäft mit Mobiltelefonen habe der Umsatz um 62 Prozent auf 13,5 Mrd. EUR gesteigert werden können.

Ähnlich wichtig sei die Mobilfunksparte für das operative Ergebnis. Zu den insgesamt 2,7 Mrd. EUR (+ 65%) habe dieses Segment 2,38 Mrd. EUR (88%) beigetragen. Das Ergebnis pro Aktie im ersten Halbjahr liege bei 0,39 Cent und damit im Rahmen der Erwartungen.

Ein wenig überrascht habe sich der Markt von der Ankündigung gezeigt, zahlreiche neue Produkte in den nächsten Monaten einzuführen und der daraus resultierenden Ergebnisbelastung im dritten Quartal. Voraussichtlich werde ein Ergebnis deutlich unter dem des zweiten Quartal erwirtschaftet.

Die Einführung dieser Produkte sei aber notwendig, um Nokias Marktführerschaft zu verteidigen. Insoweit strafe der Markt Konkurrenten wie etwa Ericsson für zögerlichere Produktpolitik ab, wolle aber auch keine ergebnisbelastenden Neueinführungen rechtzeitig vor dem traditionell starken vierten Quartal.

Man halte diesen Schritt für wichtig und richtig. Im Gegenzug rechne man mit einem starken Jahresendquartal. Die Gewinnprognose passe man daher nur minimal auf 0,72 Cents für 2000 an.

Die Ursache für den gestrigen Kursverfall sehe man hauptsächlich in dem nervösen Umfeld und den z.T. überzogenen Erwartungen. Die Äußerungen von Herrn Ollila würden diese Erwartungshaltung auf ein vertretbares Maß korrigieren. Kurzfristig bestehe das Risiko einer Konsolidierung zwischen 45,- und 50,- Euro.

Mittelfristig sehe man - getragen von einem starken vierten Quartal - deutliches Kurspotential. Die aktuelle Schwäche sollte zum Kauf genutzt werden.

Nach Angaben von Merck Finck & Co werden bei Nokia (WKN 870737) die Verzögerungen in der Handy-Produktion das Ergebnis des dritten Quartals beeinträchtigen.

Aufgrund der unerwartet geringen Rentabilität bei der Herstellung von Mobiltelefonen sehen sich die Analysten von Merck Finck & Co gezwungen, die Prognose des Gewinns pro Aktie von 0,91 Euro auf 0,73 Euro zu korrigieren. Dies betreffe jedoch nur das laufende Geschäftsjahr, für 2001 und 2002 bleiben die Prognosen bestehen.

Der momentan schwache Kurs der Aktie sei aus Sicht der Analysten eine günstige Einstiegsgelegenheit. Für Nokia wird die Bewertung nicht geändert: Nokia gilt weiterhin als „Outperformer“.

Die guten Ergebnisse des zweiten Quartals 2000 würden vom negativen Ausblick seitens des Unternehmens für das dritte Quartal überdeckt. Bei einem um 55 Prozent auf 6,7 Milliarden Euro ausgeweiteten Umsatzvolumen habe Nokia das Vorsteuerergebnis um 62 Prozent auf 1,4 Milliarden Euro überproportional steigern können. Zum Umsatzanstieg habe der Handybereich mit einer Steigerung um 67 Prozent auf 4,9 Milliarden Euro und zum operativen Ergebnis mit einem Plus von 82 Prozent auf 1,2 Milliarden Euro zu.

Im Mobilfunkbereich dürfe Nokia durch die im kommenden Quartal beginnende breite Einführung neuer Handy-Modelle den mittlerweile erreichten Wettbewerbsvorsprung gegenüber seinen nächsten Konkurrenten Motorola und Ericsson weiter ausbauen.

Die Analysten von LBBW behalten zwar ihre Einstufung der Nokia-Aktie als Outperformer aufgrund der unverändert positiven Rahmenbedingungen bei, revidieren jedoch ihre Gewinnerwartungen für die Jahre 2000 (neu: 0,74 Euro; alt: 0,82 Euro)und 2001 (alt: 0,99 Euro; alt 1,07 Euro) nach unten.

Nokia to supply GPRS solution to Chunghwa Telecom

Nokia and Taiwan`s largest mobile operator, Chunghwa Telecom have
signed an agreement for the delivery of the Nokia GPRS Core network
solution.

With the implementation of the Nokia GPRS solution, Chunghwa will be

its subscribers – offering packet switched data via its GSM network.
Chunghwa will be ready to launch commercial applications using this

Nokia to supply ADSL network in Latin America for fast Internet
access in Chile



Nokia has signed an agreement with Chilean operator Manquehue NET to
deliver a commercial ADSL system in Latin America, bringing fast
Internet access to subscribers.

This contract is part of Manquehue NET`s strategy to deploy advanced
broadband services to compliment their existing infrastructure and
service portfolio.

Implementation of the ADSL lines will be initially deployed in
Santiago. Manquehue NET expect to expand their ADSL business during
the second half of 2000 and rapidly increase this business during
2001.

In addition, Nokia will provide a full range of Professional Services
including Project Management and Implementation. Deliveries have
already begun and the commercial service was launched in mid July.

ADSL (Asymmetric Digital Subscriber Line) technology provides homes
and businesses with very high-speed digital services via their
existing copper phone lines. Besides offering the user a high-speed
modem connection, it allows the same line to be utilized for
simultaneousFast Internet access as well as telephone services.

Ein paar Ergänzungen zu der Analyse vom 27.06.2000: In einer Telefonkonferenz mit Analysten und Journalisten gab der Konzernchef Ollila folgendes bekannt:

- Gewinne im dritten Quartal werden nicht mehr wie vor wachsen, Begründung ist die Verzögerung bei der Auslieferung neuer Handy-Modelle.

- Die Gewinnmargen werden ab QT 4 wieder ein Niveau über 20 % erreichen. Für das QT 2 waren hier Margen von 25 % für Handys und 27 % für Netzwerke bekannt gegeben worden.

- Lieferengpässe im Halbleiterbereich werden weniger belasten, da Nokia ein Zuliefernetz breit gestreut hat im Gegensatz zu seinen Konkurrenten.

- Bis Ende 2002 erwartet Ollila weltweit 1 Milliarde Handy-Nutzer

- Die Firma gab ein Aktienrückkaufprogramm bekannt.


Erneutes Fazit: Bleibe bei meinen Zielen der letzten Analyse, spekulative Anleger greifen bei aktuellen Kursen zu, konservative warten die Zahlen für das QT 3/2000 ab.

BfG Bank : Nokia kaufen
Das Unternehmen Nokia (WKN 870737) hat in einer vorgezogenen Veröffentlichung seine Zahlen für das dritte Quartal präsentiert und dabei die Analysten positiv überrascht, so die Analysten der BfG-Bank.

Entgegen aufgekommenen Befürchtungen habe der Konzernchef Ollila darüber hinaus auch für das kommende Quartal, sowie für den Gesamtmarkt einen optimistischen Ausblick gegeben. Der Vorsteuergewinn sei im Berichtszeitraum Juli bis September um 42 % auf 1,34 Mrd. Euro gestiegen. Der Gewinn pro Aktie sei im Quartal von ,14 auf 0,19 Euro gestiegen. In der Mobilfunksparte sei der Umsatz um 59 % auf 5,43 Mrd. Euro, das operative Ergebnis um 42 % auf 1,07 Mrd. Euro gestiegen. Das Verhältnis von Betriebsergebnis zu Erlösen habe mir 19,6 % zwar unter dem bisher üblichen Verhältnis anderer Quartalsperioden gelegen, Olilla sei aber zuversichtlich, im nächsten Quartal wieder die Marke von 20 % überspringen zu können.

Ferner habe das Unternehmen einen Auftrag der British-Telekom Mobilfunktochter BT Cellnet zum Netzausbau in Höhe von 300 Mio. Pfund erhalten. Entgegen den gedämpften Erwartungen der beiden großen Mitbewerber Motorola und Philips rechne Nokia im kommenden Jahr mit einer Fortsetzung des Handybooms. Weltweit, so die Prognose, würden nach 400 Mio. Handys in diesem Jahr im kommenden Jahr insgesamt 550 Mio. Stück abgesetzt werden. Auf für das 4. Quartal werde ein Rekordergebnis erwartet. Nokia habe seine unangefochtene Weltmarktführerschaft von ca. 30 % bei den Handy-Herstellern eindrucksvoll bestätigt und die Märkte erneut positiv überrascht.

Die Empfehlung der Analysten der BfG-Bank laute daher kaufen.

Die Analysten der Deutschen Bank stufen die Aktei des finnischen Telekommunikationsausrüsters Nokia (WKN 870737) weiterhin mit „Buy“ ein.

Nach Auffassung der Wertpapierexperten hat der Konzern am 19.10.2000 gute Quartalzahlen präsentiert. Das Unternehmen würde seine Marktführerschaft in den kommenden Quartalen noch halten können.

Für die Jahre 2000 bis 2002 revidieren die Experten ihre Ergebnisschätzungen je Aktie um 7,8 Prozent auf 0,83 Euro; um 7,4 Prozent auf 1,12 Euro und um 7,3 Prozent auf 1,45 Euro nach oben.

Angesichts der vielversprechenden Geschäftsaussichten verspreche der EURO-STOXX-50-Titel dem Investor nach wie vor gute Kurschancen. Das Kursziel liege weiterhin bei 65 Euro.

Nach Angaben der Privatbankiers von Merck Finck & Co kann Nokia (WKN 870737) positiv ins vierte Quartal hinaus blicken.

Der Nettoumsatz von Nokia habe sich im dritten Quartal auf 7,6 Milliarden Euro belaufen, einem Plus von 50% gegenüber dem Vorjahr. Der operative Gewinn habe um 39% auf 1,3 Milliarden Euro zulegen können, dies entspreche einer Gewinnspanne von 17,5%. Allerdings sei die Gewinnspanne bei Mobiltelefonen auf 19,6% gesunken. Die Firmenleitung wolle im vierten Quartal die Gewinnspanne jedoch wieder auf über 20% hoch drücken. Dabei sei bedeutsam, daß die durchschnittlichen Verkaufspreise der Handys seit 12 Monaten nicht gefallen seien.

Nokia gehe weiter von einer steigenden Nachfrage nach Mobiltelefonen aus. Für 2000 rechne man mit einem weltweiten Verkauf von 400 Millionen Handys aller Hersteller. 2001 werde die Zahl der Handy-Käufer auf 550 Millionen steigen, 2002 erwarte die Firmenleitung gar über 1 Milliarde verkaufter Handys. Bereits im kommenden Quartal wolle Nokia die Marktanteile weiter steigern, zumal 12 neue Modelle zum Weihnachtsgeschäft auf den Markt kämen.

Angesichts der guten Entwicklung bei Nokia verbessern die Analysten von Merck Finck & Co ihre Prognosen für den Gewinn pro Aktie leicht: Für das laufende Geschäftsjahr gehe man nun von 0,80 Euro aus, für 2001 erwarte man 1,22 Euro, für 2002 erwarte man 1,59 Euro. Das Rating wird nicht geändert: Nokia bleibt „Outperformer“.

Die, von Nokia (WKN 870737) früher als geplant bekannt gegebenen Zahlen der ersten 9 Monate 2000 sorgten für einen Kurssprung um 20% in einem Minenfeld von Gewinnwarnungen im Technologiesektor, berichten die Analysten vom Bankhaus Reuschel.

Nokia habe den Umsatz im dritten Quartal um 50% auf 7,575 Mrd. Euro steigern können. Der operative Gewinn sei konzernweit um 39% auf 1,322 Mrd. Euro erhöht worden, im wesentlichen getragen von anhaltend üppigen Margen im Mobilfunk (20%) und in der Netzwerktechnik (18%). Der zurückhaltende Ausblick für den Handy-Bereich zur Jahresmitte habe sich mittlerweile relativiert.

Der Ausblick auf das vierte Quartal bleibe optimistisch und die Analysten würden an ihrer positiven Meinung festhalten, da sich Nokia als klarer Weltmarktführer zunehmend von den Branchenrivalen Ericsson und Motorola absetzen könne. Bei unveränderten Gewinnschätzungen von 0,75 Euro (2000e) und 0,95 Euro (2001e), sei Nokia mit einem KGV 2001e von 45 fair bewertet. Das Rating laute Outperformer.
