Wallenberg foundation transfers 29 pct voting stake in SKF - UPDATE
(Update clarifying the stakes were transferred, not sold)

STOCKHOLM (Thomson Financial) - Knut och Alice Wallebergs Stiftelse's entire 10.1 pct capital stake and 29.1 pct voting stake in SKF AB (Nachrichten), has been transferred to another Wallenberg entity Foundation Asset Management (FAM), as part of a new organisation and management of the Wallenberg foundations.

FAM was established in order for Knut och Alice Wallenbergs Stiftelse, Marianne och Marcus Wallenbergs Stiftelse and Stiftelsen Marcus och Amalia Wallenbergs Minnesfond, to coordinate the administration of their asset and increase effectiveness.

The foundation's assets currently amount to about 58 bln skr, and an initial 21 bln skr is being transferred to FAM, comprised partly by the foundations' stakes in SKF and Stora Enso.

'In the long term the ambition is that the foundations' other stakes in Saab AB, Scania AB, and SAS AB, amounting to around 10 bln skr, be transferred to FAM. Skandinaviska Enskilda Banken AB will continue to be directly owned by the foundations, but be managed though an advisory agreement with FAM,' FAM's chief executive Lars Wedenborn said.

This morning a SFA filing showed that the KA Wallenberg foundation had disposed of its stake in its entirety.

The Wallenbergs are Sweden's most powerful business dynasty.

SKF India sees sales doubling over next 4 years

MUMBAI (Reuters) - SKF India Ltd expects to double sales over the next four years, a top official said on Thursday.

The company plans to invest 2.7 billion rupees in its new plant in Ahmedabad, while capex of 5 billion rupees is envisaged over the next two years, Managing Director Rakesh Makhija said.

"The new plant in Ahmedabad will start production in the first quarter of 2009," he said.

SKF India is already building a plant in Haridwar in Uttarakhand with an investment of 1.5 billion rupees.

The plant would be operational from the third quarter of 2008, and largely supply two-wheeler makers in the state, including new plants of Hero Honda Motors Ltd and Bajaj Auto Ltd, Makhija said.

SKF India will also focus more on the wind energy sector, which was growing quickly, he added.

Revenues have grown 19 percent so far this year, and the company aims to finish the year with more than 20 percent growth, he said.

Hem Securities recommends `Buy` on SKF India

Hem Securities recommended `Buy` on SKF (Q, N,C,F)* India with a price target of Rs 612 as against current market price of Rs 445. (November 26)

The company is planning huge capital expenditure in the coming years and therefore it is investing Rs 4.2 billion in India to set up two new manufacturing units. The company is investing Rs 1.5 billion in its upcoming plant in Uttarakhand and another of Rs 2.7 billion in a new plant in Ahmedabad. The Uttarakhand unit will cater to the automotive and two-wheeler industries. The Ahmedabad facility will manufacture large size industrial bearings. SKF sees 360 mln skr cost for closure of Glasgow US plant, job cuts in France
STOCKHOLM (Thomson Financial) - SKF AB (News) said it expects to incur 360 mln skr in restructuring costs following a decision to close its manufacturing facility in Glasgow, US, and to reduce staff numbers at its Fontenay-le-Comte facility in France.

300 mln skr will be charged to the fourth quarter with the remainder taken in 2008 and 2009. Within the fourth quarter, 265 mln skr of the 300 mln will be charged to the Automotive Division and the remainder to the Industrial Division.

The measures are expected to result in around 120 mln skr of annual savings said SKF.

'These are the most important steps in the Group's ongoing activities to reduce costs and improve efficiency in its operations,' said SKF.

In total the measures will reduce SKF's staff numbers in the US, France and some other countries by 500 persons.

'The closing of the Glasgow factory and the transfer of the production to the group's factory in Puebla, Mexico, are necessary to remain competitive in the US automotive market,' said SKF.

SKF to Build Factory in Russia for Railway Bearings
      Regulatory News:

SKF (News) (Pink Sheets:SKFRY)(STO:SKFA)(STO:SKFB)(LSE:SKFB) has decided to build a factory in Russia for taper bearing units to supply to the fast growing Russian railway market.

This new investment will further strengthen SKF's position as world leader in the railway industry.

The construction of the new factory will start in September 2008 and will be in operations by April 2010. The factory will also have a channel dedicated to reconditioning of bearings.

The Group's investment amounts to around SEK 235 million and the number of employees will be about 150.

The final site for the new factory is not yet decided, but is expected to be in the vicinity of Moscow.

The Russian railways, RZD, is rebuilding its rail transport system, both infrastructure and rolling stock, and is now the world's largest investor in rail transport, both in rolling stock and with a 25% network expansion.

Russia is now in a technology transition phase introducing taper bearing units to replace cylindrical roller bearings and axlebox designs. This shift to pre-lubricated taper bearing units is driven by an objective to obtain longer maintenance intervals and lower life cycle costs. SKF has a leading position in supplying taper bearing units to the railway industry all over the world and intends to get an important part of the Russian market.

SKF: SKF's Acquisition of Leading Magnetic Bearing Company Now Closed
SKF (Pink Sheets:SKFR) (STO:SKFA) (STO:SKFB) (LSE:SKFB) acquisition of S2M, a leading company in magnetic bearings, has now been closed. SKF (News) had already earlier 12% of the share capital in S2M.

S2M has annual sales of around EUR 40 million and 200 employees. The company is headquartered in Vernon, France, where it also has its manufacturing facilities. SKF pays around EUR 55 million for the shares.

      - We are now into the technologies of tomorrow and that is very exciting, says Tom Johnstone, President and CEO of SKF. We already have a smaller company in Canada dedicated to the manufacture of magnetic bearings, SKF Magnetic Bearings. This new company is very complementary both geographically and from a product range point of view for SKF. With this acquisition the range of magnetic bearings is substantially broadened. It is also important to remember that the magnetic bearing business is complementary to the SKF rolling bearing product range.

Magnetic bearings can replace hydrodynamic bearings which are bearings used in large and heavy applications that are energy intensive. The magnetic bearings will substantially reduce the energy consumption in those applications and thus contribute to the Group's sustainability efforts and focus.

      - This new technology is a very interesting and fast developing technology that during the last years has grown out of its development phase, continues Mr Johnstone. Magnetic bearings are now considered a reliable alternative for a number of growing application areas. Main end customer segments are vacuum pumps, small air and gas compressors. turboexpanders, and compressors mainly for oil and gas industry.

      - With this acquisition we clearly strengthen our position in the bearing world and are able to offer our customers a broader product range in a fast growing market, Mr Johnstone says.

S2M will be part of SKF's Industrial Division and will be included as from 2008 in the Group's consolidated income statement.

AB SKF may be required to disclose the information provided herein according to the Securities Markets Act and/or the Financial Instruments Trading Act. The information was submitted for publication at 10.30 am on 21 December 2007.

      Hallo ich arbeite bei SKF....

Is ne gute Firma mit ewig vollen Auftragsbüchern.
