Nokia and Lycos Europe announce cooperation in Multimedia Messaging
Services

Nokia and Lycos Europe today announced that they will work together
to develop Multimedia Messaging Services. Lycos Europe have recently
launched their Mobile Channel, merging its communities with the power
of mobile technology. Lycos` new channel is currently built around
its mainstay SMS service which is the leading SMS web to phone and
phone to web service in Europe. Extending Lycos Mobile with new MMS
features and MMS content gives the users -in a community environment-
an even more exciting experience of informative and entertainment MMS
services. Features like composing Multimedia Messages out of ready
-made Lycos content or personal created images will make MMS more
accessible to the consumer.

Nokia und Lycos Europe wollen zukünftig im Bereich mobile Nachrichtenservices
zusammenarbeiten. Eine entsprechende Vereinbarung sei unterzeichnet worden, hieß
es. Die neuen Services auf Grundlage der neuen UMTS-Geräte sollen unter anderem den
Versand von Bildern und Videoclips ermöglichen.

Der Chart schreit auch nach Ausbruch. Ich habe mir paar zugelegt.

Meldung stimmt zwar (hab gerade mit nokia telefoniert), die schliessen aber ur zeit etliche derartige Kooperationen. Ob diese Meldung irgenwas am Kurs von L.E. ndert, ist zu bezweifeln: Da werden ein paar tausend bei 0,78 gekauft und 1 Minute später ist die ask-seite auch schon wieder aufgefüllt. Und das bei dem volumen. Der Ausverkauf durch die Grossaktionäre dürfte also noch länger anhalten. Bis dahin: Hände weg von L.E.

Wollt ihr zocken oder längerfristig investieren?Wenn die Prognosen gehalten werden
werde ich Lycos länger halten,bei erreichen der Gewinnzone Ende 2002 werden wir uns in anderen Kursregionen bewegen.

Schaut nur mal auf den Chart, eine der wenigen Aktien die bisher noch nicht gelaufen sind und die 38 Tagelinie dürfte heute oder in den nächsten Tagen gebrochen werden. Gab es überhaupt schon eine Verfügung wg. Pennystockregelung?

worden.
Von fallenden Kursen hat keiner was. Ich denke die
Zittrigen sind raus und es wird wieder aufwärts gehen.

Das Mobilfunkunternehmen Nokia etabliert ein neues Forschungs-und Entwicklungszentrum für 3G Netzwerktechnik in China und baut somit seine Position im weltweit grössten Mobilfunkmarkt weiter aus. Nokia`s zweites R&D Center in China, das in 3-5 Jahren bis zu 500 Angestellte beschäftigen soll, wird in der Provinz Zehjiang errichtet, so eine Absichtserklärung zwischen Nokia und der Provinzregierung. Anfang 2002 soll die neue Niederlassung eröffnet werden.

China ist mit 136 Mio. Mobilfunknutzern die Nummer 1 in der Welt und gewinnt monatlich 5 Mio. Neunutzer hinzu. Bisher investierte Nokia in China 1,7 Mrd., unterhält 8 Joint Ventures und verfügt über 5.500 Angestellte.

HELSINKI, Nov 23, 2001 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- The best company by reputation among the 100 biggest listed companies in Finland is Nokia. Vaisala ranks second, Kone third, F-Secure fourth and UPM-Kymmene fifth. Nokia had the best overall reputation and additionally ranked first in the reputational dimensions of operational dynamics, public image and financial excellence. In the dimension corporate culture and leadership Nokia ranked third, in community responsibility sixth and in products and services ninth.

The results are based on a survey carried out by reputation management consultancy Pohjoisranta Porter Novelli in October 2001. The research was conducted using RepMap, a tool created by Pohjoisranta Porter Novelli for the measurement of corporate reputation. The media partner in the survey was Arvopaperi, the leading investor magazine in Finland.

The five most reputable companies all operate internationally. Nokia is the world leader in mobile communications with its headquarters in Finland. Vaisala develops, manufactures and markets electronic measurement systems and equipment for meteorology, environmental sciences, traffic safety and industry. Kone is one of the leading companies in the global elevator and escalator business. F-Secure is a strategic provider of data security solutions and UPM-Kymmene is one of the leading forest product companies in the world focusing on printing papers, converting materials, and wood products.


Most reputable companies score well in each dimension

More than 3 350 respondents representing the working-age population and students in Finland took part in the survey. The survey was carried out via an Internet Panel. The respondents were asked to evaluate on a scale from 1 to 5 how well each attribute of reputation described the company named. An overall reputation value was then calculated for the company`s reputation, based on the average of the values scored in the different dimensions of reputation. The range for reputation value is 1 to 5.

In addition to the overall reputation, each company gained a score in all of the six dimensions of reputation. The most reputable companies score fairly well in all dimensions, implying that all the factors in each of the dimensions of reputation need to be addressed in order to have a good corporate reputation.


Reputation as a competitive edge

According to Jouni Heinonen, Managing Director of Pohjoisranta Porter Novelli, reputation is a company`s intangible asset; it guides customers, employees, investors and stakeholders - including other interest groups such as the media - in making decisions.

- Reputation has never been more important for companies because nowadays the business climate is continuously changing and the pace of change is accelerating. Markets are becoming global and consumers more enlightened. Companies are finding it harder to distinguish themselves from their competitors, especially now that products and services are often similar in nature or at least easily copyable. This means companies must utilise their intangible resources to gain a competitive edge - their reputation, Heinonen concludes.


The RepMap maps company4s reputation

The RepMap maps the company`s reputation among its stakeholders and also the reputations of the company`s main competitors. The RepMap positions the company in the different dimensions of reputation in relation to its competitors.

According to a three-phase survey of the dimensions and attributes that form corporate reputation in Finland, carried out by Pohjoisranta Porter Novelli in Autumn 2000 and Spring 2001, corporate reputation in Finland is a six dimensional phenomenon composed of 24 qualitative attributes. The dimensions of reputation are: corporate culture and leadership, financial excellence, public image, products and services, community responsibility and operational dynamics. Reputation is both culture and time dependant.
