Royal Olympic Gets OK To Dismiss Bankruptcy Proceedings

NEW YORK (Dow Jones)--A U.S. bankruptcy court dismissed the proceedings against two Royal Olympic Cruise Line Inc. units that own the vessels Olympia Explorer and Olympia Voyager.
The decision was made because the vessels - the sole assets of their respective owners - are to be sold this month at auction, the Greek cruise company said in a press release Friday. The U.S. Bankruptcy Court for the District of Hawaii entered the orders dismissing the proceedings.

Two of the eight companies that own the Royal Olympic ships - units of Royal Olympic - filed for Chapter 11 reorganization on Dec. 17. Royal Olympic said at the time it was in negotiations with lenders to restructure $250 million in loans.
As announced Wednesday, Olympia Explorer and Olympia Voyager will be sold at judicial auction, under an agreement among the the company, the owners and the banks.
The judicial auction of the Olympia Explorer is scheduled to take place on March 24 in Long Beach California and the auction of Olympia Voyager will be held on March 26 in Miami.
A company spokesman couldn`t immediately be reached for further details.
Last month, Royal Olympic Cruise said its cruise ship Olympia Countess, seized by creditors in South Africa, will be auctioned off.
Shares of Royal Olympic were trading recently at 58 cents, up 16 cents, or 38.1%.
