Liontown Resources Ltd (ASX:LTR) is proceeding with the acquisition of Hang Gong property near Liontown’s Bynoe lithium-tantalum project acquired in February/March 2016, located 40 kilometres south of Darwin.

The acquired 80km2 tenement package near Darwin contains an extensive pegmatite field with lithium mineralisation reported from a number of prospects.

It comes with drill ready targets.

The Hang Gong property will enhance Bynoe and comprises two tenements, MLN16 and EMP28651, which will form part of the larger Bynoe lithium-tantalum project.

Pegmatites up to 390 metres long and 60 metres wide have been defined on Liontown’s project area by previous explorers.

The area is known for its tin-tantalum mineralisations which is commonly associated with lithium.

Liontown Resources will have the drill spinning at Bynoe in May 2016.

In January 2016, Liontown Resources announced that grades of up to 4.93% lithium and 1,862ppm tantalum were returned from two prospect areas at its central Tanzanian project.

The company also owns the Jubilee Reef Gold Project in Tanzania with a resource base of 390,000 ounces.

Reflecting the interest in the lithium projects, the share price of Liontown Resources has been on an upward trend since October 2015.
Antwort auf Beitrag Nr.: 52.099.493 von Di2 am 01.04.16 13:36:56Liontown Resources Ltd (ASX:LTR) has received firm commitments to raise $1.3 million before issue costs to fund the exploration and evaluation of its lithium projects in Australia and Africa.

The non-brokered placement, comprising 87,133,335 shares at an issue price of $0.015 per share, was oversubscribed with support from a number of sophisticated and professional investors.

Liontown shares have been on a tear since August 2015 when the share price was $0.005.

The funds raised will be used to advance the company’s exploration and drilling activities at the Bynoe Lithium Project in Northern Territory, the Mohanga Lithium Project in Tanzania and for general working capital purposes.

The placement is scheduled to be completed on or around 31 March 2016.

Liontown has also reached an agreement with Chairman Tim Goyder to settle at par, an outstanding loan of $350,000 provided by Mr. Goyder, by issuing 23,333,333 shares to him at $0.015 per share.

In addition, 2,666,666 fully paid ordinary shares will be placed to the company’s non-executive director Craig Williams at $0.015 per share to raise an additional $40,000.

The Company will hold a general meeting of shareholders in May 2016 to consider the issue of shares to Mr Goyder and Mr Williams.

Liontown had announced in early February 2016, the acquisition of the Bynoe Lithium Project near Darwin.

Liontown announced further expansion of the Bynoe project in March 2016, by acquiring the Hang Gong pegmatite.

Mohanga Projekt

The Mohanga Project is located in central Tanzania approximately 40km NNE of the capital Dodoma and 400km WNW of Dar es Salaam (see Figure 1) within the south eastern part of the Tanzanian Craton. The regional geological setting is similar to the world class Greenbushes lithium deposit located in SW Western Australia. Liontown has secured a contiguous ~180km2 Project area where sampling of colonial workings has recorded high grade lithium and tantalum values hosted by pegmatites.

Liontown secured the Mohanga Lithium-Tantalum Project in the December Quarter of 2015 through a combination of tenement acquisitions and an option deal with a local company.

A number of lithium-bearing pegmatites have been recorded by historic (1962) government mapping and reconnaissance rock chip sampling by Liontown geologists returned significant lithium (>1% Li2O) and tantalum (>0.05% Ta2O5) values.

Better results from Liontown’s reconnaissance sampling include:

Sample 132428 2.95% Li2O and 0.12% Ta2O5
Sample 132432 3.79% Li2O and 0.11% Ta2O5
Sample 132436 2.76% Li2O and 0.11% Ta2O5
Sample 132439 5.15% Li2O and 0.07% Ta2O5

(For full listing of rock chip assays received by Liontown see Appendix 1 in ASX announcement titled “Liontown secures lithium-tantalum exploration project in Tanzania, East Africa” released on 24th November 2015 which is available under the Investor Relations section of this website.)

There has been no drilling or other modern exploration within the Mohanga Project area.

The Project is in the south eastern part of the Archaean Tanzanian Craton where it comprises a WNW-NW trending sequence of metasediments (quartzite, quartz-feldspar schist and graphitic schist), amphibolite schist and quartz-feldspar gneiss intruded by granite. The geological setting is considered analogous to the Greenbushes lithium deposit in southwest Western Australia, the world’s largest pegmatite-hosted deposit.

Immediately subsequent to the Project acquisition, Liontown undertook first pass geological mapping, rock chip sampling and limited trenching at a number of prospects. This work confirmed a large pegmatite field within the Mohanga Project with a total of 78 pegmatites identified at 6 prospects

Widths of up to 100m and strike lengths of up to 700m have been interpreted for individual pegmatites; however, further geological mapping is required to confirm dimensions. Summary statistics from the completed mapping are tabled below:

All pegmatite outcrops mapped have been systematically rock chip sampled.

Trenches have been channel sampled with intervals based on geological logging.

Assays for the rock chip and channel sampling are expected in late January. Further work will be planned once these are received.

Comparison of Alkali Ratios

Alkali ratios (K, Cs, Rb) from whole rock geochemical analyses of the initial reconnaissance samples from the Mohanga region indicate highly fractionated pegmatites which are more likely to contain incompatible elements such as lithium and tantalum. In addition, historical reports from the Greenbushes and Pilgangoora lithium deposits in Western Australia show that the alkali ratios from several areas in the Mohanga region compare favourably.

The alkali data also indicate more than one type of pegmatite with not all being prospective for lithium and tantalum. Further whole rock analyses will be completed on the recently collected samples to prioritise those pegmatites which are considered more prospective.

Land Status

The Mohanga Project comprises three contiguous tenements covering a total combined area of approximately 177km2. Two of the tenements are held directly by Liontown Resources (Tanzania), with one being a granted prospecting licence (PL10724/2015) and the second being an application (No. 01458) that has been recommended for grant.

The third tenement (PL9067/2013) is subject to an Option Agreement with local company Central Mining Company which gives Liontown the right to acquire 100% of the PL. The main terms of the proposed Option Agreement between Liontown and Central Mining are:
◾LTR to make initial cash payments totalling approximately US$30,000;
◾4 year option period with annual payments (from first anniversary) of US$15,000;
◾Purchase price of US$900,000 (plus 10% CGT) to acquire 100% of PL9067/2013; and
◾1%NSR on future production which can be purchased at any stage for US$500,000.
