Allgemeine Informationen
LD is comprised of 7 Exploration Licenses covering 1.600 qkm over the playa lake of the same name. An Access and Heritage agreement was executed, in February 06, between the Martu People and Reward in respect of Exploration Licenses E69/2156-2159 and E45/2801-04.
The negotiations over the Lake Disappointment tenure progressed throughout the 200c calendar year. Several meetings occurred between Reward and the Traditional Owners (Martu People) to discuss access matters and Reward’s plans for exploration and possible development at Lake Disappointment. One of the meetings with the Traditional Owners was on site at Lake Disappointment to discuss the significance of the area to the Martu People and areas of possible disturbance by activities should development proceed.
At subsequent meetings held with the community leaders and their legal representatives, Reward outlined its proposals for exploration and development. A forum was held in October 06 at Punmu, where the proposals were presented to the broader Martu community for approval. Agreement was reached with the Martu Traditional Owners permitting Reward access to substantial areas of Lake Disappointment for exploration. Reward has provided undertakings not to enter or disturb certain areas of the lake highlighted by the Traditional Owners as of sensitive heritage value.
On the basis of this agreement and permitted access Reward prepared a Section 18 (Aboriginal Heritage Act) submission seeking approval for the exploration activities necessary for it to establish the potential of Lake Disappointment as a Potash resource. The Section 18 submission was lodged with the Dept of Indigenous Affairs for presentation at 13.12.06 meeting of the Aboriginal Cultural Material Committee (ACMC) for approval and ratification. The outcome of the ACMC meeting was favourable with a recommendation to the Minister for Indigenous Affairs that she ratify the Section 18 consent allowing Reward’s exploration activities to commence. In January 07, Ministerial approval was received. Consent was granted for access and the use of the Land at Lake Disappointment exactly as sought in the Section 18 submission to the ACMC.
The granting of consent allowed for the comprehensive drill assessment of the potash resource. Global Groundwater Pty were contracted to conduct the hydrogeological assessment of the Lake using a ‘Geoprobe rig’ in conjunction with trenching and pump testing, to enable a JORC standard resource estimate to be generated. A total of 30 holes were drilled. The core retrieved from the lake was collected in sealed tubes that recover the Lake sediments as well as the entrained brine for the interval.
Resourcen/Bewertung
lower estimate: 7,7 Mrd t @ 3,17 kg/t for 24,4 Mio t K2SO4
upper estimate: 8,6 Mrd t @ 3,17 kg/t for 27,4 Mio t K2SO4
(The difference between upper and lower estimate relates to depth and area assumptions for the lake margins)
Demgegenüber beträgt die aktuelle Marktkapitalisierung (Schlusskurs Freitag = A$0,54) lediglich knapp A$37 Mio voll verwässert (Stand 23.10.: 53,7 Mio Aktien, 11,6 Mio Optionen @ A$0,20 und 2,5 Mio Optionen @ A$0,15 = 67,8 Mio Aktien voll verwässert) .
Projektparameter
-das EBT soll A$37 Mio p.a. erreichen, das EAT A$26 Mio

"Reward Minerals advises that negotiations between the Company and Indigenous Energy Pty Ltd, the entity representing The Western Desert Lands Aboriginal Corporation and the Martu Traditional Owners of the Lake Disappointment have reached an impasse.
In the Company’s view the expectations of Indigenous Energy to date are uncommercial and would seriously affect efforts by Reward Minerals Ltd to establish Potash operations at the Lake Disappointment site. As a result, the Company has withdrawn previous offers made to WDLAC/Martu in respect of Lake Disappointment and will seek resolution of the matter via mediation invoking Section 31 of the Mining Act. In this context shareholders should be aware that despite Lake Disappointment being in a Determined Land Title area under the Native Title Act any minerals existing within the title area belong to the State. Exploration and development rights are available to interested parties under the normal provisions of the Mining Act. Section 31 of the Mining Act relates to the provision of access by Explorers to Mining Tenements in the event of dispute with parties holding rights under the Native Title Act. Should the matter require resolution via the Section 31 route, the time line for any further developments at Lake Disappointment are expected to be pushed out by between 6 – 12 months. The Company will provide further information as it comes to hand.
In the meantime, the Company is accelerating the exploration of its five buried evaporites targets in other areas of Australia. The first target to be tested is at the Camel Flat prospect in the Amadeus Basin located approximately 120km south east of Alice Springs, NT. Drilling of the first hole (1,000 metres) is expected to commence early in October 2007. Approvals are in place for a four hole programme in the project area.
An off target oil exploration hole, Bluebush –1 which was drilled within the Camel Flat syncline intersected 690 metres of “salt” from 786m depth. Some Sylvite (Potassium Chloride) was reported in the hole but no chemical analysis was undertaken. The first of the Camel Flat holes is located 38km north east of Bluebush –1 on the northern uplift of the syncline."

Fazit:

I'm just comparing the potential RWD potash operation to potenial potash operations in North-America. The K2SO4 grade at Lake Disappointment (LD) is just 0.317% compared to 19% K2SO4 at the Saskatchewan properties of ISX Resources just to give you an example.
Of course I know that a surface brine deposit like Lake Disappointment has a different cost structure compared to the typical North American underground or solution mining projects.
Shaw stockbroking estimates the operating costs for the LD operation at 233A$/tonne K2SO4. At the LD K2SO4 grades RWD has to move some 60mln tonnes of material each year and the operating costs are just 0.74$/tonne with an mineral value of 1.90$/tonne. This is the lowest number I'ver ever seen in my life as a resource investor.
On the other hand I would be really interested in tonne/K2SO4 costs for a high grade combined underground/solution mining operation. Of course you need to install all the pipelines and the further processing is much more capital intense and subject to high energy cost exposure but with 60 times higher head grades I would be surprised to get higher operating costs per tonne K2SO4 than at LD.
I know that RWD would have the competitive advantage of being Austrlia only potash producer and the high Baltic Dry Index (freight rates) does protect RWD from cheap potash imports to Australia but I like to know how big the cost advantage of the North-American poash producers really is.
Thx in advance

Heute mit Riesenumsätzen +26% in Australien ...what's going on???

Market Cap 7,2 Mio A$ / Cash 6 Mio. A$ !!.

Aktien all inclusive, was dann 0,6A$ eps ergäbe.

Deshalb folgende Fragen an dich:

Meine Frage ging in folgende Richtung:

Following shareholder approval at the General Meeting of Shareholders held 17th October 2008, the Company is proceeding with the transfer of non-core assets to wholly owned subsidiary company Jinka Minerals Ltd as per the Notice of Meeting and Explanatory Statement. The non-core assets will be transferred from Reward to Jinka in return for 14,901,190 Jinka shares and 14,901,190 Jinka options. Initially these shares will all be held by Reward.
It is proposed that the Jinka shares and options will be distributed to shareholders of Reward at some future date, as yet not decided. The distribution will be on a prorata basis to Reward shareholders on the Register at the Record Date of 27th October 2008. It is considered that this represents a return of capital of 4.92 cents per share to Reward Shareholders.
In keeping with the capital return to the holders of fully paid shares, Optionholders will have the exercise price of options held reduced by the same amount. Thus the exercise price of the RWDO options with expiry date 30.06.09 will reduce from the current 20 cents by 4.92 cents to 15.08 cents per option effective from the 28th October 2008. The expiry date for the options remains unchanged. Optionholders exercising options after the Record Date of 27th October 2008, are not eligible to participate in the prorata distribution.

(I)
Reward Minerals is pleased to provide the following update on the status of the National Native Title Tribunal s35 hearings in respect of Lake Disappointment Mining Lease 45/1171 application.
1. As advised on 24 November 2008, Deputy President Sumner of the National Native Title Tribunal ruled that the Grantee Party (a subsidiary of RWD) had negotiated in “Good Faith” with the Native Title Party in respect of M45/1171 application. The ruling provided the Tribunal with authority to proceed with the substantive s35 arbitration hearing.
2. In respect of the substantive arbitration, the Grantee Party lodged its Contentions in the matter on 20 November 2008.
3. The Native Title Party was directed to provide its Contentions by 24 December 2008, but failed to do so.
The Native Title Party also failed to provide all of its evidence by 24 December 2008 as directed, although following an urgently convened directions hearing it did provide the Grantee Party with some material by that date including a confidential anthropological report. Meanwhile the Native Title Party had still not provided a copy of the Heritage Survey Report commissioned by Reward and conducted in May 2008 with Martu members present. A draft copy of this May 2008 Survey Report was provided in early January, but the content remains confidential at this time.
4. The Tribunal conducted a further directions hearing on 16 January which attended primarily to procedural matters including the degree of confidentiality to be adhered to in respect of some of the Native Title Party’s evidence. The principal outcome of the hearing was the issuing of Directions by DP Sumner including for the parties to participate in a further s150 mediation hearing in an attempt to reach agreement on terms for the Lake Disappointment Potash Project prior to further hearings in the s35 process. The first of the s150 mediation hearings is set down for the 28 January 2009. In the event that the s150 negotiations are unsuccessful, the substantive s35 arbitration hearing is set down for early March 2009.

Reward Minerals Ltd's South Carnarvon potash exploration hole RWDK0801 in WA is at a depth of 887m and drilling in Silurian age Dirk Hartog carbonates. The company resumed drilling the hole on January 6 at a depth of 541m.
The top of the Dirk Hartog formation was at 590m sub-surface in this location.
Drilling has continued from that depth in carbonates and as yet has not intersected any equivalent of the Yaringa evaporite sequence which exists within the Dirk Hartog formation 75km to the south. The company says core recovery has been excellent in the Dirk Hartog carbonates.
While the depth and thickness of the Dirk Hartog horizon are greater than anticipated, the stratigraphy encountered to date is not inconsistent with data available from earlier drilling (some distance away) in the South Carnarvon basin, thus the potential for an evaporite horizon remains. Drilling will continue to the base of the Dirk Hartog formation and top of the Tumblegooda sandstone to fully test the evaporite target zone.
