High Five: Nokia Bolsters its Mobile Phone Product Portfolio
Contemporary clamshells, a megapixel 3G WCDMA smartphone and stylish mid-range phones
Helsinki, Finland - Mid-range clamshells and products for new growth markets took center-stage today, as Nokia revealed the latest additions to its product portfolio at the annual Nokia Connection conference. Held simultaneously in Singapore and Helsinki, the conference also witnessed the launch of the world`s smallest 3G GSM/WCDMA phone.
Chairman and CEO Jorma Ollila launched the products, including three clamshell phones and a 3G WCDMA smartphone aimed at bringing 3G to the broader market. Introducing the products, he said, "We have now sharpened our product portfolio in key areas, bringing new phones to the market in the mid-range, and adding more clamshells to our offering." Nokia`s ongoing commitment to growth markets was also evident, with the launch of two new color-screen phones tailored for these areas.
Nokia`s newest 3G phone, the Nokia 6630 featured prominently at the conference, combining the benefits of 3G, EDGE and Series 60, the world`s leading smartphone platform. The Nokia 6630 boosts personal information management in 3G WCDMA networks with secure access to corporate Intranet and email at mobile broadband speeds. Uniquely, the Nokia 6630 is the first dual-mode, tri-band handset designed to work on 3G (WCDMA), EDGE and 2G networks in Europe, Asia and the Americas. Sehr aufschlussreich ... sie geben einen schönen Einblick in die R&D des Unternehmens und einen Vorgeschmack auf was wir uns von Nokia in Zukunft einstellen können.
Mein Resume: Eins muss man der Firma lassen, auch wenn sie den Klappenhandys-Trend etwas verschlafen haben, so ist Nokia im Bereich der Mobilfunkgeräte nach wie vor das Innovativste Unternehmen ... mit Abstand!
Marktanteilsverluste sollten bis Ende des Jahres wieder ausgebügelt sein.
Das ist meine Einschätzung.

Positive Reaktion der Anleger - Aktie spürbar im Plus
ku Frankfurt - Mit einem Kursgewinn von 1,6 % war die Aktie des finnischen Mobilfunkgiganten Nokia am Mittwoch in einem trägen europäischen Aktienhandel vor der Zinsentscheidung der Fed eine der wenigen positiven Ausnahmeerscheinungen unter den europäischen Blue Chips. Getrieben wurde die Kursentwicklung im Wesentlichen durch positive Bemerkungen der Analysten von Goldman Sachs, die Lichtblicke bei dem mit erheblichen Schwierigkeiten auf dem Mobiltelefonmarkt kämpfenden Konzern ausgemacht haben wollen. Dies scheint sich mit dem Optimismus zu decken, den Konzernchef Jorma Ollila Mitte Juni auf einer Pressekonferenz im Hinblick auf den bis ins erste Quartal noch rückläufigen Marktanteil demonstriert hatte.
Seit Anfang März hatte die Nokia-Aktie den Anlegern wenig Freude bereitet. Der Kurs hatte sich bis Ende Mai um mehr als 44 % ermäßigt und sich seither nur sehr begrenzt erholt. Die Analysten von Goldman Sachs haben zwar an ihrer "In-Line"-Einstufung der Aktie festgehalten. Die Beurteilung der Lage klingt jedoch ein wenig optimistischer, was ausgereicht hat, um der zuletzt arg unter Druck befindlichen Aktie neuen Auftrieb zu verleihen. In Sachen Marktanteile sei im Quartal bei Nokia Dynamik zu erkennen gewesen, hieß es. Es sei daher davon auszugehen, dass das Ergebnis je Aktie für die drei Monate mit 15 Cent am oberen Ende der von 13 bis 15 Cent reichenden Spanne hereinkommen werde. Für das Gesamtjahr hat Goldman Sachs die Gewinnschätzung um immerhin 1 Cent auf 67 Cent je Anteilschein erhöht. Zudem wird auf den Erfolg neuer Handy-Modelle verwiesen.
Damit sind die Sorgen für den finnischen Konzern aber noch längst nicht vorbei, wie auch Goldman Sachs konstatiert: Es gebe keinen klaren Produktvorteil, daher werde sich Nokia über die Sommermonate in einer engen Bandbreite bewegen. warum meckert ihr über das design bei nokia? unfertig? kann ich nicht nachvollziehen.
schaut euch mal die sony-ericsson handies an ... das sind unstylishe, unfertige und siemens-plagiative telefone.
ich finde nokia sieht gut positioniert aus. ericsson hatte einen volltreffer mit dem t610. das war`s dann aber auch. das neue 700er ist ja wohl unter aller kanone.
