IMPACT Silver Announces First Quarter 2014 Financial and Production Results

IMPACT Silver Corp. ("IMPACT" or the "Company") announced today its financial results for the three months ended March 31, 2014. The information in this news release should be read in conjunction with the Company's unaudited condensed consolidated interim financial statements and Management's Discussion and Analysis, available on the Company website at www.impactsilver.com and on SEDAR at www.sedar.com. All amounts are stated in Canadian dollars unless otherwise specified.

Overview for the Quarter Ended March 31, 2014

      Financial Overview

Revenues for the first quarter of 2014 were $3.0 million, a 30% decrease from $4.2 million in the first quarter of 2013, resulting primarily from a decline in the silver price.
Net loss of $1.3 million for the quarter, of which non-cash items included $0.7 million in depreciation and amortization and $0.1 million in share based payments (stock option grants).
Mine operating loss before amortization and depreciation of $0.1 million compared to $1.5 million earnings in the prior year. This was a direct reflection of the downturn in silver prices.

Capital expenditures during the quarter included mineral property expenditures of $1.0 million which brought cash down to $2.5 million. The Company continues to be free of long term debt.

      Production Overview

Silver production decreased 10% to 148,696 ounces for the first quarter of 2014, down from 165,651 ounces in the same period of 2013.
Average mill feed grade for silver in the first quarter of 2014 decreased to 137 grams per tonne (g/t) from 146 g/t in the first quarter of 2013.
Total tonnes milled during the first quarter of 2013 decreased to 39,775 from 42,009 in the first quarter of 2013 but increased from the fourth quarter 2013 of 36,655 tonnes.
The shutdown of the Capire open pit was completed during the quarter. Work commenced on modification of the Capire plant which is being planned to process higher value gold and copper mineralization from the Carlos Pacheco/San Juan area later in the year.
The Cuchara-Oscar mine was put into production in February 2013. During 2013, the mine contributed 23% of total mill feed. For the first quarter of 2014 it provided 48%.

As noted, the Company increased tonnes produced in the current quarter to 39,775 over the previous two quarters of 36,655 and 38,520 for Q4 2013 and Q3 2013, respectively. This increase has been a result of additional feed from the Cuchara-Oscar mine as it becomes the Company's principal producer, as well as strong contributions from the San Ramon and Noche Buena mines. Grades were lower in the quarter at 137 g/t compared with 146 g/t for the same period in 2013. With production materials being drawn from several mines with different feed grades, mine production can vary from quarter to quarter. However, with the Cuchara-Oscar Mine developing into higher grade mineral, the Company expects an increase in grades going forward in 2014.

In light of lower silver prices, recent Mexican mining tax changes and low overall silver grade being mined at Capire, the Company recognized that the open pit test mining operation was not economic at its present small scale. Thus, open pit operations at Capire were suspended in February 2014. The Capire plant is being reconfigured to process the gold-copper mineralization at Carlos Pacheco. However, the plant will not be reactivated until an industrial dispute with local truck haulers is resolved and metallurgical research is completed, and the Company anticipates the Capire plant will not be contributing to sales and production until later in the year.

IMPACT Silver Reports Results for the Year Ended Decembers 31, 2013
      2014-04-03T20:28:06+00:00

VANCOUVER, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwired - April 3, 2014) - IMPACT Silver Corp. (TSX VENTURE:IPT) ("IMPACT" or the "Company") announces its audited financial and production results for the three months and year ended December 31, 2013. Overall, silver production and grade increased, but revenues decreased in 2013 relative to 2012 mainly due to the dramatic drop in silver prices. The Company had a net loss of $8.5 million for the year, most of which was due to non-cash items totaling $9.0 million, resulting in a positive cash contribution of approximately $0.5 million.

The information in this news release should be read in conjunction with the Company's audited Consolidated Financial Statements and Management's Discussion and Analysis, available on the Company website and on SEDAR.

      Financial Overview

Revenues of $14.1 million for the year 2013, compared to $15.9 million in 2012, despite a 37% drop in silver prices.
Net loss of $8.5 million for the year, of which non-cash items total $9.0 million resulting in a positive cash contribution of approximately $0.5 million. Non-cash items comprise $2.3 million in depreciation and amortization; $1.5 million in share based payments; $3.7 million in write-downs required under IFRS; and, an adjustment to deferred taxes of $1.6 million ($1.5 million of this reflects the impact of the new Mexican mining taxes).
Mine operating earnings before amortization and depreciation were $2.7 million, compared to $5.6 million in the prior year. The last half of 2013 reflected the dramatic downturn in silver prices, generating only $0.6 million of cash flow from mine operations.
Capital expenditures during the year primarily related to the Capire milling facility of $3.6 million and mineral property expenditures of $8.4 million, part of which included the 2013 drill program of 34,000 meters, drew down cash to $3.5 million. However, the programs were completed without incurring any debt financing.

      Production Overview

Silver production increased 3% to 153,512 ounces for the fourth quarter of 2013 from 148,333 ounces in the same period of 2012. For the year, silver production increased 10% to 682,526 ounces in 2013 from 620,515 ounces in 2012.
Average mill feed grade for silver increased in the fourth quarter of 2013 to 151 grams per tonne (g/t) from 131 g/t in the fourth quarter of 2012, which was reflected in the higher production for the comparative periods. Average mill feed grade for the year was up 14% to 158 g/t in 2013 from 138 g/t in 2012.
Total tonnes milled during the fourth quarter of 2013 decreased to 36,655 from 42,870 in the fourth quarter of 2012 and 38,520 tonnes from the third quarter of 2013.
Testing of the Capire pilot plant using mill feed from the Capire open pit was completed and the plant entered into commercial production in December 2013. The plant is now being reconfigured to test higher value gold and copper mineralization from the Carlos Pacheco/San Juan area.
The Cuchara-Oscar mine was put into production in February 2013 and contributed 32% of mill feed for Q4 2013 and 23% of total mill feed for the year.

As the Company reported in March 2013, mine production in 2012 was impacted by lower silver grades, particularly from the Chivo Mine, where silver grades decreasing with depth resulted in lower overall production. Further, Chivo also supplied higher grades of lead and zinc and therefore, the phasing down of Chivo also contributed to reduced overall lead and zinc production. To offset these production losses, the Company fast tracked the higher grade Cuchara-Oscar Mine into production. Commencement of production at Cuchara-Oscar was announced in late February of 2013.

Within the fourth quarter of 2013, Cuchara-Oscar provided 32% of all mill feed. As the Company developed Cuchara-Oscar to make it Guadalupe's principal producer, lower grade development muck was being processed through the mill. This resulted in lower grade ore in the fourth quarter with average head grade at 151 g/t compared to the third quarter at 171 g/t. Grades are still much higher than 2012, with year-to-date grade at 158 g/t for the current year compared with 138 g/t for the same period in 2012. With production materials being drawn from several mines with different feed grades, mine production can vary from quarter to quarter.

The Capire plant commenced commercial production in December 2013. As a result, there was a small contribution of production from this mill with 4,096 tonnes produced and silver sales of 3,275 ounces. As the Capire plant is reconfigured to process other sources of material including gold-copper mineralization, the Company anticipates a higher contribution to sales and production in 2014.

Average silver metal prices based upon the LME PM fix have decreased by 31% from the first quarter to the fourth quarter of 2013. Additionally, average silver prices have decreased 36% in the fourth quarter of 2013 from the same period in 2012. Silver sales were 165,139 ounces in the fourth quarter of 2013, an increase over the 130,857 ounces sold in the same period of 2012. Silver sales also increased year-to-date for 2013 to 717,334 ounces compared with 563,258 ounces sold year-to-date in 2012. The decrease in silver price contributed to the decrease in revenue from the fourth quarter of 2013 compared to the same period in 2012 even though the Company had increased silver sales in the fourth quarter.
The Company's lower revenues in the fourth quarter of 2013 of $80.81 per tonne, a decrease from $86.41 per tonne from the same period in 2012, are a result of lower realized metal prices and slightly higher smelting and refining charges. The lower silver price also affected the year-to-date revenue per tonne as it decreased to $87.92 per tonne for the year compared with $94.32 per tonne for same period in 2012.

The Company's financial position at December 31, 2013 remained sound with $3.5 million in cash and net working capital of $6.9 million. The Company had cash flows from operations before changes in non-cash working capital of $0.6 million for the year ended December 31, 2013. This compares to cash flow generated from operations before changes in non-cash working capital of $3.3 million in the same period of 2012.

IMPACT Silver Corp. operates two processing plants within its 100% owned 623-square-kilometer land package in south-central Mexico: the Guadalupe Production Centre and the Capire Production Centre. At Guadalupe, three underground silver mines feed the central 500 tonnes per day processing plant located within the historic Royal Mines of Zacualpan Silver District. At Capire, the processing plant is potentially available to supplement the processing of gold and copper mineralization from the Carlos Pacheco/San Juan Project. Additional information can be found on the Company website at www.IMPACTSilver.com.

A recorded conference call reviewing the financial and production results of the year ended December 31, 2013, will be available on the Company's website on Friday, April 4, 2014.

Future Exploration Plans for the San Juan Project Area

The exploration team is now completing interpretation of these recent drill results from San Juan and carrying out additional surface mapping to plan the next phase of drilling. Because of the sub-parallel orientation of these breccia bodies and veins, and in particular the Carlos Pacheco and Noche Buena structures, IMPACT is able to intersect most if not all of these structures in a given drill hole. The deeper Carlos Pacheco structure is generally drilled at 50 meter intervals, while the shallower structures (Noche Buena, Tiburón, Delfin Breccias, and the Abulón, Cangrejo, La Jaiba, and Langostino Veins, plus a host of other smaller structures) are generally drilled at 25 meter intervals. The Carlos Pacheco Vein remains open to expansion at depth and to the south where the gold grades remain good, and there is an increase in the gold to silver ratio (see the Carlos Pacheco drill hole long section on the Company website at www.IMPACTSilver.com).

The Significance of the Carlos Pacheco as IMPACT's First Gold and Copper Mine

Historically the Royal Mines of Zacualpan has been known as a silver district, but in 2007 IMPACT exploration personnel became aware of the gold and copper potential (IMPACT news release dated January 18, 2007). Exploration work on this new target type was steady and progressive leading to the recent opening of IMPACT's first gold and copper mine on the Carlos Pacheco South Zone. Beginning in 2013 the larger San Juan Zone was drilled and is now in mine development with first production expected later this year. Stockpiling of gold and copper mineralization from Carlos Pacheco South began in January 2014 and will be processed through the Capire mill which is undergoing renovations to accommodate the gold and copper feed. Once renovations are complete, IMPACT will operate two mills, with the Capire Production Centre producing gold-copper concentrates, while the Guadalupe Production Centre will continue to produce silver-lead and zinc concentrates. Corporately, this multi-metal production mix should enhance IMPACT's ability to weather downturns in individual metal markets in a more effective manner.

Other Gold Targets within the Royal Mines of Zacualpan District

Regional metal zoning studies have contributed greatly in identifying the most likely areas for gold and copper mineralization within the district and, with the recent recognition of structural settings likely to host gold and copper mineralization, specific targets can now be identified. With the confidence gained after discovering IMPACT's first gold-copper mine at San Juan, the exploration team is now focused on identifying similar targets elsewhere in the district. To date only 11% of the 6.7 kilometer known strike length of the Carlos Pacheco Vein has been drill tested. Other parallel gold bearing structures occur nearby and to the south where at lower elevations surface sampling has indicated gold grades of 1 to 20 grams from both the Carlos Pacheco and Noche Buena Veins. It is also in this direction that the gold-silver ratios are the highest for the entire district.

Other district gold targets include the Alacran Mines, located 2.3 kilometers south of IMPACT's Guadalupe Production Centre. Historical data is now being compiled into IMPACT's GIS (Geographic Information System) database. Over ten kilometers of relatively shallow underground workings are known with historic detailed geological maps and over 3,000 rock sample results, many with elevated gold grades. The Alacran Veins appear to be a series of dilatational jog structures, similar to the Carlos Pacheco Vein.

At Capire, the processing plant is being readied to process gold and copper mineralization from the Carlos Pacheco/San Juan Project. Additional information, including a drill hole location map and drill section for the San Juan Project, can be found on the Company website at www.IMPACTSilver.com.

San Juan drill intersections include 10.343 g/t gold over 3.19 meters
      and 1,218.1 g/t silver over 1.17 meters

IMPACT Silver Corp. ("IMPACT" or "the Company") is pleased to announce results from the next seven drill holes at its San Juan Project, located adjacent to the producing Noche Buena Mine. The Company is also pleased to announce initial field results from the new La Soledad and Pregones silver subdistricts located in the southeastern portion of its 623-square-kilometer concession holdings in the Royal Mines of Zacualpan area.

      San Juan Project Drilling Highlights

This area of current drilling is testing the sub-parallel Noche Buena and Carlos Pacheco structures which outcrop 170 meters apart and dip to the west. IMPACT is currently mining silver mineralization at its Noche Buena Mine, which is trucked east to the Guadalupe Production Centre, and has begun mining and stockpiling gold and copper mineralization from the nearby Carlos Pacheco Vein in preparation for processing in the Capire Production Centre to the south. The drill intersections in this News Release will be added to expand the mining plans for both gold and silver zones. A number of other recently discovered structures, such as the Tiburón and Angel Veins, also occur in close proximity to the Noche Buena Vein.

Highlights from previous San Juan Project drill results include intersections of 17.1 g/t gold over 1.89 meters from the Carlos Pacheco Vein and 1,409.8 g/t silver over 2.07 meters from the Noche Buena Vein (see IMPACT news release dated October 30, 2013), as well as 3.44 g/t gold over 7.17 meters from the Carlos Pacheco Vein and 1,587.8 g/t silver over 1.72 meters from the Noche Buena Vein (see IMPACT news release dated January 7, 2014).

Highlights from these new San Juan Project drill results (see table below) include:

Additional high gold grades for the Carlos Pacheco Vein of 10.343 g/t gold and 276.9 g/t silver over 3.19 meters, which includes a higher grade interval of 19.757 g/t gold and 502.6 g/t silver over 1.50 meters encountered in hole Z13-71, and 2.963 g/t gold over 3.38 meters in hole Z13-74.
Wide intersections of silver mineralization for the Noche Buena Vein such as 14.40 meters grading 104.0 g/t silver in hole Z13-73 including a higher grade interval of 314.5 g/t silver over 1.47 meters.
Significant intersections for the Tiburón Breccia which include 232.9 g/t silver over 2.11 meters in hole Z13-69.
