Mikros Systems Corporation Conducts Testing of the ADEPT(R) Equipment
PRINCETON, N.J., July 6 /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ -- Mikros Systems Corporation (OTC Bulletin Board: MKRS) announced today that it has recently conducted another set of tests of the ADEPT(R) equipment at the U.S. Navy's cruiser modernization (CGM) test facility at Lockheed Martin in Moorestown, NJ. Additional data was taken that further establishes ADEPT's utility and value in supporting the AN/SPY-1A radar.

In the past month, the U.S. Navy has also placed ADEPT units aboard two additional Aegis cruisers to aid in the scheduled alignment of their SPY-1 radar systems. One ship is undergoing its scheduled maintenance at the San Diego Naval Base and the other at Naval Station Mayport outside of Jacksonville, FL. Mikros is providing onsite training and support at both locations.

Additionally, the ADEPT installed on the USS SAN JACINTO last fall is still in use on that ship. These multiple installations are providing valuable data for future product improvements.

The Company is under contract to produce 10 more ADEPT equipments which will be the first 'lightweight' versions.

'We are working hard to install and support the ADEPT product in our fleet, and are confident it will improve the readiness of the U.S. Navy's Aegis ships,' stated Thomas J. Meaney, President.

Mikros Systems Corporation Announces Second Quarter Financial Results
REVENUE MORE THAN DOUBLES FROM THE SECOND QUARTER OF 2006 AND NET INCOME SOARS

Mikros Systems Corporation (OTCBB: MKRS), Princeton, New Jersey, August 20, 2007 -- Mikros Systems Corporation announced today significant increases in both revenues and net income for the quarter ended June 30, 2007. Revenues for the quarter ended June 30, 2007 more than doubled to $844,935 from $411,403 for the quarter ended June 30, 2006. The Company reported net income of $119,997 for the second quarter of 2007, as compared to a net loss of $1,457 for the second quarter of 2006.

Results for the first six months of 2007 showed similar significant growth. Revenues for the six months ended June 30, 2007 increased more than 70% to $1,639,885 from $949,993 for the six months ended June 30, 2006. Net income for the first six months of 2007 increased more than seven fold to $150,611 from $18,710 for the first six months of 2006.

At June 30, 2007, the Company reported working capital of $420,430 as compared to $263,353 at June 30, 2006, and backlog in excess of $3.6 million.

The revenues were mainly from the Company’s two major contracts: (1) the development and manufacture of the ADEPT® test and maintenance tool for the SPY-1 radar; and (2) the development of the AIRchitect-EMC wireless network afloat planning tool under the Radar Wireless Spectral Efficiency (RWSE) Small Business Innovation Research (SBIR) Phase II program.

The ADEPT (Adaptive Diagnostic Electronic Portable Testset) product line grew out of an SBIR Phase I award in 2002 and now encompasses two variants, the ADEPT(V)1 with its flexible expansion capabilities and the more portable ADEPT(V)2 which is half the size and weight. Both units can be viewed on the Mikros website at http://www.mikros.us/ADEPT.htm.

ADEPT has been extensively and successfully tested at both land-based facilities and aboard U.S. Navy ships, including the USS BUNKER HILL (CG-52), the USS SAN JACINTO (CG-56) and the USS PHILIPPINE SEA (CG-58). Mikros is currently funded to extend the applicability of ADEPT to all the AN/SPY-1 variants in the Aegis fleet of 84 warships. Its Navy customer is also encouraging Mikros, and Mikros has begun, to study the applicability of ADEPT to other complex electronic systems aboard these ships, such as certain electronic warfare equipment which is part of every warship’s complement. The Company continues to aggressively market ADEPT, which has been proven to improve the maintainability and readiness of our Aegis warships. The Company is working with its Navy customer to plan for future procurements through Navy program funding and hopes to continue to receive congressional support for this program.

Mikros will be showing ADEPT this September in Baltimore, MD at the AUTOTESTCON Systems Readiness Technology Conference, the premier tradeshow for automatic test systems for U.S. military systems. At this show, Mikros will be introducing its new product, a virtual instrumentation chassis based on the ADEPT(V)2 custom design, for the commercial and military automated test system markets.

The RWSE program began as an SBIR Phase I award in 2004 and has progressed to a Phase II program which has resulted in the software product AIRchitect-EMC. Based on wireless (RF) surveys aboard the USS GEORGE WASHINGTON (CVN-73), the USS BATAAN (LHD-5), and the USS KEARSARGE (LHD-3), AIRchitect-EMC is an interference aware planning tool for commercial wireless networks (Wi-Fi and WiMAX) aboard U.S. Navy warships. This contract was expanded in May 2007 to perform U.S. Navy weaponry kill chain vulnerability analyses based on the RF interference expertise gained during the AIRchitect-EMC development.

Under new programs, Mikros was recently awarded a $30,000 subcontract from Mobilisa, Inc. as a result of an SBIR Phase I proposal teaming effort for the U.S. Air Force SBIR topic entitled Radio Frequency/Microwave Hazard Assessment Tool. Also, last week Mikros was notified of its being selected for an SBIR Phase I award for a communications buoy. For this SBIR Phase I proposal, Mikros teamed with Ocean Power Technologies, a leader in ocean power devices. Contract award for this program is expected in the October/November time frame and contract value is expected to be approximately $100,000.

November 2007 - Mikros Visits the USS San Jacinto in Norfolk, VA
On November 1, 2007, Thomas Meaney, President of Mikros Systems, and Mark Laureigh, the Applications Engineer for ADEPT® , visited the USS San Jacinto based at the Norfolk Naval Base, in Norfolk, VA. They met with a number of officers and SPY-1 radar technicians to review the test results of the ADEPT equipment that has been on the ship for the past 12 months.

The acceptance of the equipment was unanimous and one officer suggested that a cruiser of this type could utilize 3 equipments to properly cover all of the tasks to be accomplished in the maintenance of the radar.

Mikros thanked the ships crew for the professional evaluation of the equipment. The Surface Forces personnel in Norfolk encouraged Mikros to try to provide this type of equipment not only for the SPY-1 radar, but also for the other electronic equipment on the ship.

To date, ADEPT has been tested on the USS Philippine Sea, USS Bunker Hill, USS San Jacinto, as well as a number of land based test sites.

Mikros Systems Corporation Announces Third Quarter Financial Results

Revenue Increases 46% and net income increases 70% from the nine months ended September 30, 2006

Princeton, NJ /PRNewswire-FirstCall/ November 16, 2007 – Mikros Systems Corporation (OTCBB: MKRS - News), announced today significant increases in revenues, gross margin and net income for the nine months ended September 30, 2007. Year to date, revenue from contracts increased from $1,576,283 to $ 2,303,142, a gain of 46%, gross margin increased from $636,418 to $934,429, a gain of 47%, and net income increased from $96,799 to $164,408, a gain of 70%. For the three months ended September 30, 2007, revenue from contracts increased from $626,290 to $663,256, a gain of 6%, gross margin increased from $260,354 to $301,024, a gain of 16%, and net income was $13,796 compared to $78,689 in 2006. The reduction in profitability for the third quarter resulted primarily from increased current expenses which are expected to provide material benefits in future periods and position the Company well for future growth. These expenses included investments related to the retention of new engineering employees and consultants and costs related to proposal work and business development. In addition, in order to insure compliance with Section 404 of the Sarbanes-Oxley Act, the Company incurred a number of one time consulting, legal and accounting fees.

Chief Executive Officer Tom Meaney stated, “We are extremely excited about our financial performance so far this year and are even more excited about our prospects for future growth. We have a record contract backlog of nearly $4 million and we continue to execute contracts in a profitable manner. We have nearly doubled the amount of cash and cash equivalents on hand since last year. Our ADEPT® program continues to meet or exceed expectations on all fronts; our Radar Wireless Spectral Efficiency (RWSE) is gaining momentum and we continue to land meaningful SBIR awards. We believe these will all be huge drivers of future revenue growth and profits.”

Operational Highlights For the Period Ended September 30, 2007 Include:

Mikros’ flagship ADEPT® program continues to be well supported by the Navy customer and members of Congress. The new lightweight unit is ready for production after having passed extensive environmental tests. Results from land-based and shipboard testing aboard the USS San Jacinto have been very encouraging and The San Jacinto has requested that the ADEPT equipment be kept on the ship permanently. Current recommendations from the fleet are for three ADEPT units per ship for Aegis cruisers and two per ship for Aegis destroyers, representing a total potential market of 84 ships in the Aegis fleet.

The Navy has encouraged Mikros to extend ADEPT to other shipboard equipment and other platforms, such as amphibious ships, aircraft carriers, submarines, and the Coast Guard, as well as to Allied fleets with over 100 ships.

The Radar Wireless Spectral Efficiency (RWSE) program with SPAWAR continued to progress. The original $750,000 Small Business Innovative Research (SBIR) Phase 2 contract was recently increased by $900,000 to apply Mikros’ technology to the Secure Wireless Program on Navy amphibious ships supporting the US Marines. Mobilisa, Inc. (Port Townsend, WA) is the Company’s strategic partner in this effort, which leverages many years of their wireless software experience. The Navy has announced plans to continue this effort well into calendar 2009.

Mikros is also applying its innovative and proprietary wireless software technology to the analysis of weapon data links, under a $750,000 US Navy Phase 2 SBIR contract.

Recent SBIR awards have been equally exciting and are also expected to contribute to Mikros’ continued growth. The Radiation Hazard program, with Mobilisa as the prime contractor, is developing software tools to analyze radiation hazards to personnel. Mikros recently submitted a Phase 2 proposal to the Air Force which if successful, may also have commercial applications. The Company’s most recent new contract, a Navy Phase 1 SBIR program to design an innovative new communications buoy platform, also has potential applications in the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) and the US Coast Guard. The buoy is designed to allow submarines to communicate with external forces while continuing its mission at speed and depth. This award is the result of combining Mikros communications and systems capabilities and subcontractor Ocean Power Technologies (OPT, Pennington, NJ) expertise with energy-harvesting “Power Buoys”. OPT has been developing and delivering PowerBuoy® technology for the US Navy for many years.

Mikros ADEPT® Equipment Considered for Baseline in U.S. Navy Cruiser Modernization Program

      Princeton, NJ /PRNewswire-FirstCall/February 8, 2008
      - Mikros Systems Corporation (OTCBB: MKRS ) announced today that its ADEPT Radar Test Set equipment is a candidate for inclusion in the equipment baseline of the United States Navy AEGIS Cruiser (CG) and Destroyer (DDG) Modernization program.

The ADEPT system, developed by Mikros under the Navy’s Small Business Innovation Research program, has been extensively tested by the Navy on land and at sea, and has proven to be an invaluable tool in maintaining the most advanced shipboard radar systems. ADEPT has been designed to assure optimum radar performance, improve readiness and reduce equipment down time. Improvements to the mission effectiveness of the AEGIS fleet are particularly timely as these ships will support the Navy’s Ballistic Missile Defense (BMD) capability.

In 2007 the Navy ordered ten units of the new lightweight ADEPT model. The Navy recently obtained 2008 funding for additional systems. Up to 84 ships are eligible to be equipped with multiple ADEPT units per ship to test and align the AN/SPY-1 phased array radar.

”This product began as a tool to enhance the readiness of the SPY-1 radar, but it is developing into a much broader set of applications,” said Tom Meaney, President of Mikros.

Development work is underway to apply the ADEPT system to other shipboard systems beyond the SPY-1 radar, which could further enhance readiness. ADEPT distance support capabilities will allow remotely-located subject matter experts to perform preventive and corrective maintenance activities, potentially providing significant maintenance cost savings to the fleet.

Mikros is also currently pursuing other ADEPT market opportunities, including aircraft carriers, amphibious ships, submarines, and the allied fleets.
