      ...erinner in diesem zusammenhang gerne nochmals an nachfolg. news, in der die COOP mit AREVA vermeldet wurde !!!

      TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 16, 2008)

      - Waseco Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:WRI)(FRANKFURT:WSE) is pleased to report that it has extended the option period and increased the magnitude of the exploration expenditures by which UraMin Inc. (now a subsidiary of the AREVA group) can earn an interest in Waseco's Quebec Labrador Trough uranium project.

      In consideration for Waseco extending the option period set out in the June 29th, 2006 Letter of Intent, to June 28th, 2010, AREVA shall provide $2 Million in exploration funding to Waseco over the next two years, in order to earn a 50% interest in uranium and related metals found on the Waseco ground. This funding will include exploration and development, including drilling. All other terms remain unchanged.

      Company President, Richard Williams stated that "We are very pleased to be developing this working relationship with AREVA. As a world leader in nuclear power, AREVA brings all of the technical expertise and financial backing required for this project. We are also pleased that the structure of this transaction results in the Company receiving significant federal and provincial incentives for exploration which will be added to the Company's working capital and reinvested in future programs."

      In Canada, AREVA is the second largest uranium producer through its activities in the Athabasca Basin in Saskatchewan and is also present as an explorer in Quebec. AREVA is actively exploring for uranium in the Quebec Labrador Trough and has holdings, including an established camp, in proximity to the Waseco ground.

      ...grad im SH- board gefunden.......

      The following are extracts from Salman Partners Morning Note

      Commentary

      Uranium Demand

      The global financial crisis obscures the fact that, around the world, electricity shortages continue

      According to Bloomberg, the Chinese government-controlled Xinhua News Agency stated that China may increase its 2020 nuclear power capacity to at least 70 million kilowatts from its previous target of 40 million kilowatts, because of the risks associated with running coal-fired power plants. Last winter, snowstorms hampered the transportation of coal which resulted in some coal-fired power plants being shut down.

      Currently, China has a nuclear power capacity of approximately 8.6 million kilowatts which represents approximately 2% of global nuclear power capacity. We estimate that, if China were to be successful in increasing its nuclear power capacity to 70 million kilowatts, its demand for uranium (U3O8) would increase from its current level of approximately 3.6 million lbs to almost 30 million lbs, which is equivalent to approximately 19% of the current global supply of uranium.

      On the other side of the world, World Nuclear News reports that, citing “rising electricity prices”, “the UK Nuclear Decommissioning Authority … has appealed to the Nuclear Installations Inspectorate … to extend the life of the UK's oldest operating nuclear power station, Oldbury, due to close in December 2008”. Oldbury has the capacity to produce 434 MWe of electricity. Its continuance would add about 1.3 million pounds, or 0.75%, to the world’s demand for uranium next year and beyond.

      Because of a lack of new mine supply, we continue to expect a cumulative drawdown of uranium inventories, from the end of 2007, with a peak drawdown in 2011 of, perhaps, over 60 million pounds. Therefore, we agree with the above comment, which is why we expect that the looming uranium supply crunch could push uranium prices up to US$200/lb by the end of 2010.

      EINE mögliche erklärung könnte DAS hier sein..........

      According to the Economic Times of India, the government-run monopoly, Nuclear Power Corporation of India, has signed a uranium off-take supply agreement with integrated French nuclear power firm AREVA, to supply about 300 tonnes of uranium, or approximately 780,000 lbs of U3O8, annually. The new supply agreement is estimated to fulfill approximately 35% of India’s installed nuclear power generation capacity. This is the first uranium off-take deal that the Indian government has signed since getting the green light from both the IAEA and the NSP.

      The Economic Times of India has also stated that India’s nuclear power plants are running at only 45% capacity, therefore, one can expect the government of India is likely to sign additional uranium off-take agreements. The above uranium supply agreement with AREVA represents approximately 0.5% of the global supply of uranium. The Indian government is looking at building up its uranium stockpiles with up to 5.2 million lbs of U3O8, which represents approximately 3.3% of annual global uranium output, so as to ensure adequate supplies.

      Waseco Updates Uranium Exploration Program

      Tuesday March 10, 9:00 am ET

      TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - March 10, 2009) - WASECO RESOURCES INC. (TSX VENTURE:WRI - News; FRANKFURT:WSE - News) is pleased to provide the following background and results on its 2008 uranium exploration program with AREVA on its Labrador Trough Uranium Project in north-eastern Quebec.

      Following the $2.5 billion successful takeover by AREVA of UraMin Inc. in 2007, UraMin became a wholly owned subsidiary of AREVA and AREVA is now taking an active role in the exploration of Waseco's approximately 330 square kilometer (755 claims) uranium prospects in the Quebec Labrador Trough.

      AREVA has been actively exploring for uranium in the Quebec Labrador Trough area for a number of years and holds adjoining claims to the Waseco Du Portage claims (formerly Blocks I and II) and the Lac Drumlin claims (formerly Block III). Most of the field work carried out on the Waseco properties is being conducted from the AREVA exploration base camp on its adjacent Minowean uranium project.

      In 2008, AREVA and Waseco completed a $900,000 exploration program consisting of geophysical compilation and interpretation of spectrometer, magnetometer, electromagnetic and gravitometer programs carried out in 2005 and 2006. Helicopter assisted reconnaissance, prospecting, mapping, and grab and soil sampling were then carried out. AREVA geologists collected some 135 surface grab samples from the Du Portage claims and 20 grab samples from the Lac Pons and Lac Fenster claims.

      These areas are characterised by favourable geological environments for uranium. The re-interpretation of the geophysical surveys further confirmed a number of significant areas of uranium enrichment which warrant follow up. All of the grab samples were sent to Activation Laboratories Ltd. in Ancaster, Ontario for multi-element analysis by Neutron Activation. The assay results are expected in the coming weeks. The results will be released once their interpretation is completed. The soil sample testing indicated that, due to extensive glacial activity, this geochemical technique was not applicable.

      AREVA is recommending that follow-up work, including drilling, be carried out in 2009. The primary focus of the program will be on the Du Portage Claims. The program is starting this week with a helicopter assisted Electro Magnetic survey. A news release detailing the scope of the 2009 exploration program will follow.:)

      Waseco Resources Inc.: 2009 Uranium Exploration Program Gets Underway

      TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - April 28, 2009) - Waseco Resource Inc. ("WRI") (TSX VENTURE:WRI - News; FRANKFURT:WSE - News) is pleased report that it has received a Report from AREVA Quebec, Inc. updating the Uranium exploration programs being carried out on our Quebec Labrador Trough joint venture properties in northern Quebec.

      Twenty of the samples gathered during last year's program on the Du Portage Claims (formerly Blocks I and II) assayed for Uranium at levels greater than 500 cps (scintillometer). These samples were sent to Activation Laboratories Ltd. for Analysis by Neutron Activation / Mass Spectrometry (INAA/MS). Of these samples, 5 returned Uranium values greater than 0.1%, 4 returned Uranium values of between 0.05% and 0.1%, and 11 samples returned Uranium values of between 0.019% and 0.05%. (Note: the maximum reading from multi-elements analysis done on the samples is 0.1%)

      AREVA Quebec's Exploration Director, Loic Garnier, commented: "The assay results confirm the classic association of chemical elements showing both a hydrothermal process that facilitated the mobilisation (or remobilisation) of Uranium and a geochemical environment that is favourable for the Uranium concentration."

      In addition, the analysis for other mineral elements showed copper, vanadium and cobalt enrichment as well as a very high ratio of Uranium to Thorium (greater than 40:1). A detailed petrographic study is now being carried out to assist in identifying the exact mineralogy of the anomalous rocks and the chronology of the Uranium deposition.

      By way of follow-up, a $1,100,000 exploration program has been budgeted for 2009. This program is already underway with a helicopter borne electromagnetic (VTEM) survey which was completed in March 2009 by Geotech Ltd. The survey was supervised on the ground by AREVA Quebec personnel and overseen by geophysicists from AREVA NC in France.

      In total, 282 of the 304 Du Portage claims in this block were surveyed during this program. A total of 65 lines of 3 km to 9 km in length and spaced approximately 400 m apart were flown over the Du Portage Claims. The line spacing was reduced to 200 m on 40 % of the block (133 claims). Future drilling is planned over the approximately 13 square kilometer area where the uranium targets are interpreted as most prospective.

      The interpretation of the results is currently being completed by Geotech Ltd. and will be followed by a further review by the geophysicists at AREVA NC. Preliminary results have identified a number of conductors and assisted in establishing the physical properties of the different geological formations. When combined with the geological observations of last year's field work, the alteration zones where the hydrothermal fluids circulated can be identified (by providing a higher radiometric background).

      A drill and related equipment have been been airlifted to the base camp preparatory to initiating drilling on the Du Portage Claims in late June.

      ...und HEUTE nun die laaaaange erwartete NEWS..........

      TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwire - June 22, 2009)

      - Waseco Resources Inc. (TSX VENTURE:WRI - News; FRANKFURT:WSE - News) is pleased to announce that an initial diamond drilling program will start on June 29th, 2009, on its Du Portage uranium claims in the Quebec Labrador Trough, Canada. The drilling is part of the $1.1 Million 2009 exploration program being funded by the AREVA group.

      Significant surficial uranium was first reported by Waseco in 2007, following a high resolution geophysical survey. Uranium zones extending up to 4 km, with widths of 500m to 1km, were reported, with the smallest of the six (6) zones being approximately 800m by 400m in size. Several of the areas have potential for iron formation hosted gold and copper, as well as uranium.

      Results of the 2007 geophysical survey and interpretation prepared by MPX Geophysics Inc. are summarized as follows:

      - A total of six (6) large zones of uranium enrichment;

      -- Note: in this study, a "zone" is defined as having an extension approaching or exceeding a kilometre in measurement;

      - A total of eight (8) discrete uranium anomalies;

      -- Note: in this study, a "discrete anomaly" is defined as a circular or elliptical shaped anomaly of limited diameter, and of high amplitude (typically 2.5 eU to 5.5 eU) that is distinct from/or hosted in a uranium zone.

      - A total of seven (7) moderate conductivity electromagnetic anomalies;

      - A total of eighteen (18) discrete magnetic targets that conform to a strike limited prismatic or vertical cylinder model;

      - Identification of possible iron formation and gabbro dyke systems.

      The Report concludes that:

      "It is apparent that the study area is complex and has potential for hosting several types of economic mineralization. The potential exists for uranium, (and) gold at a minimum... As a result of the wide range of potential mineral deposits, the possibility of an IOCG multi-commodity type metalogenic system must be given serious consideration."

      Management is very pleased with the results of the study and with the quality of the Report. It cautions readers that the areas referred to are surficial, as these radiometric readings generally penetrate 1.5 metres in depth. Further ground truthing is required to quantify and qualify the Uranium potential.

      In 2008, a field program was carried out using AREVA's base camp on the adjascent Minowean uranium project. Helicopter assisted reconnaissance, propecting, mapping, grab and soil sampling were carried out. Twenty of the samples assayed for uranium at levels greater than 500cps (scintellometer). These samples were sent to Activation Laboratories for analysis by Neutron Activation/Mass Spectrometry (INAA/MS).

      - 5 samples returned uranium values greater than 1000ppm (equals 0.1%- the maximum reading from multi-element analysis);

      - 4 returned uranium values of between 500ppm and 1000ppm (equals 0.05% and 0.1%); and

      - 11 samples returned uranium values of between 100ppm and 500ppm (equals 0.01-0.05%) (see April 28, 2009 News Release )

      In March of 2009, a further follow-up electromagnetic (VTEM) survey was completed, including very close line spacings over a 13 square kilometer area where the uranium targets are interpreted as being most prospective. Geotech Ltd. and geophysicists at AREVA France are just completing their review and interpretation for the selection of the initial drill targets. The diamond drill and related equipment have been airlifted to the base camp.

      Erfahrenes Management

      Ich konnte das Management um Richard Williams in Toronto mehrmals persönlich treffen. Der Aufsichtsrat und das Management bringen zusammen über 100 Jahre Erfahrung im Rohstoffbereich mit: Es wurden Gebiete mit Minen gekauft, neue Gebiete zu Minen erschlossen und erfolgreich börsennotierte Unternehmen gemanagt. Jedes Management-Mitglied besitzt zwischen 3 und 10% der Aktien am Unternehmen, es besteht also ein deutliches Interesse an der Steigerung des Shareholder Values.

The drilling is part of the $1.1 Million 2009 exploration program being funded by the AREVA group.:)

      The initial focus of the program will be on a 3,000m by 1,500m area where the presence, location, direction and dip of the most interesting conductor structures have been interpreted to be by the AREVA geologists and geophysicists.

      Waseco HV in Toronto und erste Bohrergebnisse

      04:41 24.08.09
      Liebe Leser,

      Waseco Resources
      55 University Avenue
      Suite 1010
      Toronto, Ontario
      M5J 2H7
      Canada

      http://www.wasecoresources.com

      Still und leise ....

EUR :lick:

      Was jemand was über die Waseco HV? Es sollten doch erste Bohrergebnisse publiziert werden?

      Gruß, nurbs
