Neo-Neon bestellt 10 weitere AIXTRON MOCVD-Anlagen für die LED-Produktion

Aachen, 7. September 2010 - Neo-Neon International Ltd. hat der AIXTRON AG (FSE: AIXA; NASDAQ: AIXG) im vierten Quartal 2009 eine Bestellung über zehn weitere CRIUS(R)-Anlagen in einer 31x2-Zoll-Konfiguration erteilt. Die Anlagen werden im dritten und vierten Quartal 2010 ausgeliefert und durch das AIXTRON Serviceteam in Neo-Neons neuer fünfstöckiger Produktionsstätte in Guang Dong in Betrieb genommen. Das chinesische Unternehmen will damit blaue und grüne GaN-basierte UHB-LEDs* herstellen.

'Wir nutzen die Vorzüge unserer AIXTRON MOCVD-Systeme seit mehr als einem Jahr. Für unsere Expansionspläne ist jetzt der richtige Zeitpunkt, um die Kapazitäten nochmals zu steigern,' erklärt Neo-Neon-Präsident Ben Fan. Es sei nahe liegend gewesen, sich wieder an AIXTRON zu wenden, deren hohe technische Qualitäts- und Servicestandards aktiver Bestandteil der CRIUS(R)-Technologie sind.

Neo-Neon - weltweit größter Hersteller von dekorativer Beleuchtung - ist auf die Herstellung flexibler LED-Systeme spezialisiert, die Neonbeleuchtung ersetzen. Mit der Einführung einer Hochleistungs-LED-Serie für Straßenbeleuchtung gelang der Eintritt in diesen Industriezweig. Für Bereiche mit hoher Sonnenscheindauer werden auch solare Lösungen angeboten, die Licht speichern und nutzbar machen können. Mit der zum Patent angemeldeten 'Lux Boosting Optical Technology'** hat das Unternehmen ein spezielles optisches Verfahren entwickelt, mit dem es die Leuchtkraft seiner LED-Straßenbeleuchtung um nochmals durchschnittlich 50% steigern kann.

Das Tochterunternehmen Xianghe stellt innerhalb der Neo-Neon-Gruppe hauptsächlich LED-Lichtquellen, -Leuchten und andere LED-Produkte her. Auf diese Weise ist der Konzern in der Lage, neben LED-Chips auch LED-basierte Anwendungen für den Weltmarkt zu produzieren.

Neo-Neon Holdings applies for TDRs issue

Dec. 3, 2010 (China Knowledge) - Hong Kong-listed Neo-Neon Holdings Ltd<1368>, a world's leading decorative lighting company, yesterday said that it has filed applications with the Taiwan Stock Exchange and the island's central bank to issue the Taiwan Depositary Receipts, sources reported.

In a statement filed with the Hong Kong Stock Exchange, the company noted that it plans to issue between 80 million and 100 million TDRs, which are equivalent to 40 million to 50 million shares.

The company may also submit application to the HKEx for listing the TDRs in Hong Kong, said the statement.

Proceeds from issue will be used to expand the LED chip production capacity in China to tap the growing demand in the LED lighting market.

The company also expected the TDR issue to help it improve public recognition and build corporate image in Taiwan, it said.

Reportedly, Neo-Neon Holdings floated 140 million TDRs for NT$12.9 apiece at the end of last year.

Neo-Neon (HKG:1868) to buy US LED co for US$17M

Neo-Neon (HKG:1868) announced that it has entered into an agreement to acquire the entire issued share capital of HCI Acquisition Corp. at a consideration of US$17 million to be satisfied partly by the issue of the consideration shares and partly in cash. The consideration shares comprise 2.671% of the enlarged share capital.

The company asserted that the number of consideration shares to be issued to the stockholder was agreed by converting the value of US$13 million into HK dollar at the exchange rate of US$1=HK$7.804 and using the closing price of HK$4.03 per share on the last trading day as the issue price of the consideration shares.

HCI is principally engaged in the design, manufacture, and distribution of quality LED products. Profit after tax and extraordinary items for 2009 and 2010 were US$758,000 and US$963,000. It is expected that the merger can enhance the sales penetration of the group in the United States of America and Canada and fuel the expansion of the group in the world's lighting community.

Neo-Neon (01868) sees loss for 1H


Neo-Neon Holdings (01868) said it expects the
unaudited consolidated interim results of the Group for the six months ended 30 September
2011 to record a loss.

The expected loss was mainly attributable to a lower turnover than expected, despite
increasing orders from our domestic customers in China, as a result of generally
increasing customer prudence in placing orders caused by unfavourable prospects in the
European markets; a decrease in gross profit margins as a result of the soaring prices of
raw materials, increase in labor costs and appreciation of yuan; an increase in provisions
for doubtful debts of trade receivables due to the deteriorating economic environment; a
significant increase in depreciation expenses related to our expansion into the upstream
plant and equipments of chips; and significant amount of investment in MOCVD (Metal
Organic Chemical Vapour Deposition) led to oversupply and resulted in a decrease of its
market price, and a decrease in gross profit margins as a result of intense competition
between Wafer factories.

Its interim report is expected to be published in November. (HL)

Ten listing companies in China have been added to the list of subsidies to semiconductor lighting products for 2012/13 under the Ministry of Finance, National Development and Reform Commission and Ministry of Technology.

The 4-inch and 8-inch LED downlight with model number 6W/ZB21091 and /24W/B0111 manufactured by NEO-NEON (01868.HK)'s Heshan Silver Rain Lighting are added to the subsidy list.

NEO-NEON (01868.HK) surged 48.5% to $1.44 with trading volume of 30.44 million shares. (y)

NEO-NEON (01868.HK) plunges 13% as Shenzhen abolishes LED sector plan



Shenzhen abolished the LED sector plan for 2009-2015 in mid-March without giving any reasons.

LED names were sold off today. NEO-NEON (01868.HK) last plunged 13% to $1.57 on trading volume soaring to 9.64 million shares.

TC ORI LIGHT (00515.HK) last declined 5.2% to $0.73. NVC LIGHTING (02222.HK) last dropped 2.6% to $1.89 with 9.03 million shares changed hands on market.
