...Century Group is upping their marketing efforts to clear out its remaining townhomes at a new build project in South Surrey, by offering each new buyer a Model 3 Tesla, which comes with a price tag of $55,000.

They will be providing a Model 3 Tesla and a charging cord with each purchase of the remaining 10 homes at their newest development.

The executive townhomes, ranging from two to four bedrooms, started pre-sales nearly two years ago, in October 2017 — with pricing starting just over $1-million. There are 57 planned for the complex.

Developers have increasingly been forced to increase efforts to market various housing developments during the Metro Vancouver housing slowdown, and this is truly the Tesla on top of the cake.

“Viridian Homes is now in its final release with over 80% sold and each home offers an innovative design with energy-efficient capabilities and our partnership with Tesla is a true expression of that,” says Hodgins.

The free car promotion will run from September 14th to October 31st, or until it runs out of Teslas.

As developers continue to ramp up their marketing efforts, and now that we’ve already somehow arrived at free Teslas — there’s no guessing what could be next.

--> wer sich also frägt, warum es in Q2 so einen kleinen Rush von ca. 5600 Model 3's in Kanada gegeben hat (meine Schätzung), wird auch hier fündig
(für Q3 erwarte ich nur noch ~4600)

--> mit anderen Worten: wie viele M3's wurden und werden in Kanada (und womöglich auch USA) als "Incentives" in einem sich abkühlenden Häusermarkt vertickert?

In 2013, before it was spun off into Waymo, Google's self-driving car division was developing a semi-autonomous system that would allow for hands-free driving on highways.

Called "AutoPilot," the system required drivers to keep their eyes on the road, and Google told the employees who tested it that they would take it away if cameras placed in their cars showed that they didn't follow the company's instructions.

But some employees didn't follow those directions, and after one fell asleep while his car was traveling at around 55 mph, Google shut down the AutoPilot project, Waymo CEO John Krafcik said at the Frankfurt Auto Show on Thursday.

Since then, Waymo has focused on developing technology that will allow vehicles to drive without any human supervision.

Waymo's approach to autonomy contrasts with those pursued by Tesla and Cadillac, both of which offer semi-autonomous driver-assistance systems.

Wie wäre die Geschichte wohl verlaufen, wenn Google das Produkt 'AutoPilot' weiterentwickelt hätte ? Wir hätten zwei konkurrierende Systeme mit ähnlichen versprochenen Eigenschaften, die man hätte vergleichen können und Tesla hätte ganz sicher nicht diese angedichtete Technologieführerschaft. Glück für Elon. Und es zeigt erneut seine Verantwortungslosigkeit. Was andere schockiert (schlafender Fahrer) hält einen Musk nicht davon ab eine Technologie zu veröffentlichen, die noch lange nicht so weit ist. Nicht einmal wenn es Tote gibt (wie nachweislich geschehen).
