moneyintransit just posted this.... I have found an EXCELLENT article in “The Currency”, an online publisher focussing on business and finance interviews, investigations, etc. The author, Thomas Hubert, is a well respected journalist/correspondent. Unfortunately, the article is subscription only (25 euros per month) and so I cannot paste it on here - only summarise the main points. [URL LINK: www.thecurrency.news/articles/8016/petroleum-poker-loan-blame-game-cia-linked-investor-and-sun-drenched-oil-fields-hold-petrel-deal-together] The article gives an amazingly detailed view of everything that has happened BEFORE, DURING and AFTER last Fridays injunction court case. It contains candid interviews given by David and Mr Fayad from the NEGOTIATION MEETING they had immediately AFTER the court case on Friday. They plainly lay out their vision and views going forward which give reason for much optimism!! (it really is worth the subscription - 10 euro offer for first month). The main message to take away from this is, that even though they are legally on opposite sides in this court case (i.e. plaintiff Petrel Resources vs defendants Tamraz/Fayad/Mehraik), this is simply the legal process THEY HAVE ALL AGREED to follow in order to resolve things. THEY ARE STILL VERY MUCH ON THE SAME SIDE as far as progressing their expansion plans. So, even when/if we see Petrel making a 'statement of claim' (against the defendants) for the breach of the lock-in agreement, remember this is all part of the AGREED legal process to resolve this - THEY ARE ALL 'STILL FRIENDS' and TOTALLY FOCUSSED ON THE SAME PLANS they've always had. The full article (10 minutes read) describes the shares issue in great detail (the FULL shares saga is clearly explained and there is a 'WHAT HAPPENS NEXT' section - much more than your usual newspaper articles. So, here are a few summary points, translated from the 'What Happens Next' section - more detail and ACTUAL QUOTES are in the full article: • Immediately after the court hearing Mr Fayad and Mr Mehraik went straight into a negotiating meeting with senior Petrel shareholders • David said it was a very satisfactory meeting and even though they appear on opposite sides in a live court action, both groups are INTENT on working together • The word 'contrite' was used to describe the Tamraz groups feelings (contrite: "expressing remorse at the recognition that one has done wrong") • The main focus now is to recover as many of the 5.25m shares traded by the US lender (ECYP) • David thinks the Tamraz group might have to buy back these 5.25M shares on the open market to replace them • The remaining 30m shares frozen in custody by the High Court could be cancelled- this is an option being considered • David's priority is to look after the interests of its shareholders and any losses will be borne by the Tamraz group • David says it’s clear that Roger's involvement in GHANA was THE factor that changed Petrel's reception by the authorities • The Tamraz Group majority stake still is the best way forward to Petrel, says David • Mr Fayad also stated that their Group still wants the deal to go ahead and that their INTENTION REMAINS to have a majority stake in Petrel and to place OIL, GAS and MINING ASSETS into Petrel (especially oil fields) • Fayad explained it was interesting to take-over Petrel because it was already listed, as opposedto doing an IPO which takes months • After their meeting with Petrel on Friday, the Tamraz Group of investors said they are working on trying to agree a suitable settlement with EYPC which Petrel could then approve.

And as if one email from Michel Fayad was not enough, here is another very reassuring one received in the last few minutes by our friend moneyintransit... ---------------------- MIT: I had some follow-up with Mr Fayad after our short chat on Friday [after the court hearing]. In a mail to him I also said/asked the following: "I hope that this injunction/legal case has not had any detrimental effect on everyone’s good relationships that were obviously in place before. It would be such a shame if the issues had the potential for the project ultimately not to go ahead. As a shareholder this is a worry for me. Is there any way you could give me some level of reassurance that you and the group are still very much aiming to continue helping Petrel with bringing in the stated new assets? Should you be able to respond, please indicate if I can (hopefully) reassure some fellow long-term shareholders as well". I just received Mr. Fayad's response: Dear Frans, As I told you, we are still willing and very keen to develop Petrel and add assets in it, and you can reassure everyone. Best regards, Michel
