Aker Carbon Capture welcomes UK Government CCUS Track 1 project negotiation list
The UK Government has selected bp's Net Zero Teesside Power and Viridor'sRuncorn CCS as successful bidders in Phase 2 of the Track 1 CCUS Cluster
Sequencing Process. This is part of the UK Government's funding commitment to
achieve a net-zero economy. Both projects now proceed to final negotiations for
governmental support.
Aker Carbon Capture is the carbon capture provider for a FEED to bp's mega-scale
gas-to-power project with carbon capture. A consortium of Aker Solutions,
Siemens Energy and Altrad Babcock is currently delivering an overall FEED for
this project, which has a design capture capacity of up to 2 million tonnes CO2
per year. And together with Viridor, the UK's largest waste-to-energy company,
Aker Carbon Capture is delivering a pre-FEED study for the Runcorn CCS project
which aims to capture around 1 million tonnes CO2 per year. These major projects
further support Aker Carbon Capture's leading position in the fast-growing
carbon capture market in the UK and Europe.

AKER CARBON CAPTURE ANNUAL INTEGRATED REPORT 2022
Financial performanceAker Carbon Capture presents its consolidated financial statements in
accordance with the International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS)
as adopted by the European Union. All amounts below refer to the
consolidated financial statements for the group, unless otherwise
stated. The financial statements cover the period from 1 January 2022
to 31 December 2022.
In the period, the company’s revenues increased from NOK 363 million in
2021 to NOK 781 million in 2022, primarily driven by increased activity on
the Brevik CCS and Twence CCU projects. Operating loss ended at
negative NOK 223 million, compared to negative NOK 195 million in
2021. The higher operating loss was primarily caused by an increase in
salary and personnel costs as well as other operating expenses in line
with increasing activity levels and growth ambitions of the company.
Loss for the period was negative by NOK 204 million, compared to NOK
192 million in 2021. Loss per share were negative NOK 0.34, versus a
loss of NOK 0.33 per share in 2021.
Total assets of the group amounted to NOK 1,297 million as of
31 December 2022, compared to NOK 1,610 million in 2021. The group
had a cash position of NOK 1,093 million and negative net current
operating assets at NOK 334 million, respectively 1,321 million and 260
million in 2021. The company has no interest-bearing debt. Total equity
amounted to NOK 878 million at year-end 2022, resulting in an equity
ratio of 68%, compared to 1,076, and an equity ratio of 67% percent as
of year-end 2021.
Cash flows from operating activities ended 2022 at a negative NOK (118)
million compared to positive NOK 57 million in 2021. This was
significantly higher than the operating loss of NOK 223 million due to a
positive cash effect from changes in net current operating assets. Cash
flows from investing activities were negative by NOK 105 million,
compared to negative NOK 13 million the year before. The cash flow
from investing activities mainly reflects capitalized development costs
related to the carbon capture technology. Cash flows from financing
activities were negative by NOK (9) million mainly due to payment of
finance lease liabilities. Cash flow from financing activities in 2021 ended
at NOK 820 million, mainly related to the share issue.

Korrektur: Q4 2022
Leider ein Schreibfehler Q4 2922 Quarterly Report
Revenue ended at NOK 239 million which was NOK 110million higher compared to the same period last year.
The increase is mainly driven by:
- The Brevik CCS and Twence CCU EPC projects
- UK FEEDs with BP Net Zero Teesside Power and SSE Keadby 3
- CO2 Hub Nord MTU campaign, currently with Elkem
● EBITDA ended at negative NOK 47 million which was
NOK 19 million better than the same period last year
- Twence CCU started to recognize profit in the period
- Both the Brevik CCS and Twence CCU projects are now
recognizing profit and are expected to continue to deliver
positive results through 2023
- The overall negative EBITDA continued to be driven by high
sales and tender activity and R&D projects incl. digitalization
