mPhase Successfully Manufactures First 6-Inch Silicon-Based Wafer for Smart NanoBattery

      * Press Release
      * Source: mPhase Technologies
      * On Tuesday June 23, 2009, 9:38 am EDT

      Companies:
      o Mphase technologies, inc.

LITTLE FALLS, N.J., June 23, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- mPhase Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB:XDSL - News) reported today that it has achieved a major milestone in the development of its Smart NanoBattery Technology. mPhase reported that it has successfully manufactured a six-inch silicon-based wafer containing its key membrane (separator) technology. This separator is responsible for keeping the Smart NanoBattery's chemicals separated until activated. The membrane's unique surface and structure allows for control of a liquid on a nanostructured surface.

Each six-inch-diameter silicon wafer contains the separator material for 10 individual Smart NanoBatteries with each battery consisting of 12 "smart cells." Beneath the specialized wafer and contained within each of the smart cells, MEMS processing, microfluidics, and nanotechnology come together to form a unique superhydrophobic honeycomb structure. mPhase has figured out how to use these nano-structured surfaces and technologies to control the battery's liquid electrolytes which mix with the electrodes to create power. In the case of the Smart NanoBattery, the electrolytes can be kept separated from the electrodes until power is needed. Conventional batteries experience power dissipation as soon as the battery is assembled, but mPhase has eliminated this issue by separating the electrolytes from the electrodes. At the precise moment power is needed, the liquid electrolytes are controlled to pass through the porous silicon membrane (separator) where they will then come in contact with the electrodes to provide "Power on Command(tm)."

"This fabrication of the silicon membrane is a milestone achievement that represents a key advancement in the STTR development program," said mPhase CEO Ron Durando. "With each step forward, we are making technical advancements that have never been accomplished before. This advancement creates the potential for an unattended device to be powered by a battery with an unsurpassed shelf life that can be electronically controlled."

The Smart NanoBattery is being developed as part of the U.S. Army STTR Program. mPhase was awarded a two year Phase II development contract by the U.S. Army in September 2008 to develop this unique new battery technology for military purposes.

      TECHNOLOGY BACKGROUND

Our technology exploits the phenomenon of electrowetting - the ability to electronically manipulate the way liquids behave when in contact with a solid or porous surface. Water will bead up on a surface that is superhydrophobic*, but can be made to move or spread out by electrowetting. The same is true for an organic liquid if the surface is superlyophobic.

It is noteworthy that research groups across the country through out several esteemed universities including MIT, Rutgers and the University of Wisconsin are now publicizing their work on electrowetting and superhydrophobicity and superlyophobicity to create so-called “smart” structures on metal, ceramic or polymer surfaces that resist getting dirty, fogging up, or forming ice. They also can be used for displays, lenses and other applications.

By exploiting the same phenomena in our Smart NanoBattery by manipulating the liquid electrolyte via a proprietary silicon structure - a porous membrane - and coupled with unique battery architecture shown above.

Photo Release -- mPhase Releases Photographs of Manufactured Silicon Wafer for Smart NanoBattery

LITTLE FALLS, N.J., July 9, 2009 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- mPhase Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB:XDSL) today released photographs of its six inch silicon based wafer that contains the key electrolyte separator membrane for the company's Smart NanoBattery. The slotted dark areas that can be seen on the wafer are the porous honeycomb membrane structures that allow the battery's liquid electrolyte to be controlled in each of the twelve battery cells. Each of the individual slotted dark areas (porous honeycomb membrane) contain approximately 17,000 extremely miniature pores that the battery's liquid electrolyte will eventually pass through. Each Smart NanoBattery is made up of twelve individual cells that are arranged in a 4 X 3 array. Each battery contains approximately 203,000 pores and each six inch wafer contains over 2 million pores.

A photo accompanying this release is available at http://www.globenewswire.com/newsroom/prs/?pkgid=6364

A six inch silicon wafer contains the porous honeycomb membranes for ten Smart NanoBatteries. The membrane is uniquely designed to only allow liquid to pass through when the battery requires power. Until power is needed, the liquid electrolyte will simply rest on top of the porous surface without any leakage.

"These photographs represent the creation of a man made material that allows for the precise control of a fluid in the presence of a nanostructured surface," said CEO Ron Durando. "We used advanced silicon processing and MEMS technology to create this unique and remarkable structure that can be used to improve reserve battery performance immensely."

The mPower Emergency Illuminator is a precision instrument with a powerful 180 Lumens LED and a USB charging port with two separate battery tubes. One tube is for everyday use and holds two CR123 batteries, while the other tube holds mPhase's Power On Command™ reserve battery. If the regular CR123 batteries run down, the reserve battery provides power even after laying idle for 20 years. The design of the Emergency Illuminator was performed by the renowned Porsche Design Studio in Zell am See, Austria, and the product manufacturing is by MKE of Heidenreichstein, Austria.

mPowertech.com Now Accepting Orders for mPower Emergency Illuminator

LITTLE FALLS, NJ, Apr. 16, 2010 (Marketwire) --

LITTLE FALLS, NJ -- (Marketwire) -- 04/16/10 -- mPhase Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: XDSL), the developer of Power On Command™ battery technologies, today launched the online retail store for mPower Technologies, mPhase's wholly owned consumer division.

Interested parties can access the store through the mPower website at: http://www.mPowertech.com

The website is now accepting orders from the general public for the mPower Emergency Illuminator, a personal lighting device with a battery shelf life of 20 years. mPhase is teaming with Amazon.com to process and fulfill US-based orders, and Bongo.com for international orders.

"We anticipate substantial web traffic for mPowertech.com as potential customers of the mPower Emergency Illuminator seek detailed information about the product prior to making a purchase," said Ron Durando, CEO of mPhase Technologies. "The website offers an extremely attractive interface via which users can learn all about the revolutionary Power On Command™ technology that makes the Illuminator so distinctive, while the online store provides a convenient one-stop resource for having it delivered to one's doorstep."

Designed by Porsche Design Studio of Zell am See, Austria, and manufactured by MKE of Heidenreichstein, Austria, the mPower Emergency Illuminator is a precision instrument with a powerful 180 Lumens LED and two separate battery tubes. Additionally, the website offers for sale a glove box bracket for the Illuminator, as well as the mPower On Command™ Reserve Battery, which serves as the Illuminator's backup power source.

mPhase Executive Steve Simon to Address NanoBusiness Conference/NYC

      LITTLE FALLS, NJ -- (Marketwire)
      04/19/10
      mPhase Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB
: XDSL), the developer of Power on Command™ battery technologies, announced that its Chief Technology Officer Steve Simon will address NanoBusiness Conference/NYC on Tuesday, April 20, 2010. The event will take place at the Marriott Marquis Times Square in New York City.

Steve Simon, Chief Technology Officer at mPhase, said, "I am looking forward to the conference and the opportunity it provides to present the most recent developments in our battery technology
to a broad audience. In particular, my address will focus on our Smart NanoBattery, its current stage of development and its potential uses."

mPhase is a leader in the development and commercialization of reserve batteries
. The company recently began selling its 3-volt lithium-based mPower On Command™ reserve battery, which features a barrier inside the battery that separates the battery's electrolytes from its electrodes, enabling the battery to stay fully charged until activated. By comparison, conventional batteries do not allow for such separation and experience significant power capacity drain prior to activation. The mPower On Command™ reserve battery can be stored for decades without losing energy. When the knob on the end of the reserve battery is twisted, the seal is broken, allowing the liquid electrolyte to interact with the solid electrode -- creating instant power.

mPhase's Smart NanoBattery is a second generation version of the mPower On Command™ reserve battery. Rather than requiring human action to bring the electrolyte and electrodes together, the Smart NanoBattery can be triggered remotely, by computer
      or other device.

Co-located with the NYBA (New York Biotechnology Association) Annual Meeting being held that week, the NanoBusiness Conference/NYC will feature a series of sessions with leaders in finance, government and science.

Friction Factor is used to calculate if a fair market is being made in the shares of XDSL. 39% of the previous 33 trading days have been positive or bullish-biased and 61% have been negative or bearish-biased.

Regulation SHO requires bona-fide market-making activities to include making purchases and sales in roughly comparable amounts. The Commission has stated that bona-fide market-making DOES NOT include activity that is related to speculative selling strategies or investment purposes of the broker-dealer and is disproportionate to the usual market making patterns or practices of the broker-dealer in that security. Likewise, where a market-maker posts continually at or near the best offer, but does not also post at or near the best bid, the market-maker's activities would not generally qualify as bona-fide market-making. Moreover, a market-maker that continually executes short sales away from its posted quotes would generally not be considered to be engaging in bona-fide market-making.

BUYINS.NET monitors XDSL market-makers daily for compliance with Fair Market-Making Requirements.

      Wenn ich das nur wüßte.

Bis zu einer MK von 200 Mio. USD könnte sie hochlaufen.

      Voraussetzung:

Hammer-NEWS, Short Squezze und viel Phantasie

Ich denke aber eher bis 0,08 USD wäre realistisch.

Precise Control of Fluid on Nanostructured Surface Enables Breakthrough in Battery
Precise Control of Fluid on Nanostructured Surface Enables Breakthrough in Battery
Microfluidic Structured Surface Fused to Glass Electrolyte Reservoir

LITTLE FALLS, NJ, Apr. 20, 2010 (Marketwire) --

LITTLE FALLS, NJ -- (Marketwire) -- 04/20/10 -- mPhase Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: XDSL), the developer of Power On Command™ battery technologies, will be announcing this afternoon at the NanoBusiness Conference/NYC, an event sponsored by the NanoBusiness Alliance, that it has successfully bonded a glass reservoir capable of holding various electrolytes to the microfluidic structured layer of the mPhase Smart NanoBattery -- a key step in the packaging and assembly phases of this innovative new power source. The conference is being held at the Marriott Marquis Hotel in Manhattan.

The smart nanostructured membrane, which allows for the precise control of the liquid electrolyte, is the heart of the mPhase Smart NanoBattery. In its inactivate state, the electrolyte remains atop the battery's membrane surface; once triggered, the electrolyte comes in contact with the electrode material, producing voltage. The initial activation of the battery can be remotely controlled and pre-programmed.

The proprietary nanostructured membrane was created by mPhase and enabled by advances in microfluidics, nanotechnology and MEMS processing. In order to contain the electrolyte in its inactive state, mPhase had to create a hermetic bond between a glass reservoir holding the electrolyte and the nanostructured porous silicon membrane. "This was no easy task," said Ronald A. Durando, CEO of mPhase Technologies. "We had to bring together the expertise of our technical team, a MEMS foundry, and experts in glass machining and bonding, as the packaging and assembly of the elements of the battery are essential to the overall success of the project. The successful bonding of the glass reservoir to the microfluidic structured surface represents a key advance in the development path of commercializing the world's first Smart NanoBattery."

mPhase is on target to deliver a working battery this fall to the U.S. Army under a two-year STTR grant. The battery is designed to provide critical backup power to a computer's memory and can be diversified into many other applications.

mPhase to Release Video of New Product Created Under a Design Development Agreement With Porsche Design Studio

      NEWS
mPhase Technologies, Inc. (OTCBB: XDSL) said today that on October 25, 2012, it will be releasing a multi-purpose video of its new product targeted toward the automotive and marine industry.

The product, which features advanced battery technology, was created under a Design Development Agreement with Porsche Design Studio of Zell Am See, Austria. mPhase has kept the product under wraps in order to minimize the threat of reverse engineering the product.

The video will be used for marketing and product launch purposes. mPhase has retained the services of Stratus Consulting, Inc., a leading technology launch agency (www.stratusmarketing.com), to assist the Company in the initial marketing efforts of this product line.
