Interessanter Gedankengang von einem HC Poster
While I may be wrong I am struggling with resources of only 2-3mOzEq. I am not qualified to come up with a resource so the comments below are based on logic considering announcements and presentations to date.
I have seen porphyry’s which with significant resources use a cutoff grade of 0.3g/t Eq and this is what Edison chose. ALK have stated they need to choose an ECONOMIC cutoff grade- which I take to be a commercially viable level.
An average grade of 0.5G/t AuEq in the central high zone with dimensions of 300m by 500m by 800m, as stated in ALKs announcements, produces a resource at least double 2- 3mOzEq. But 0.5G/t OzEq is not high grade IMO so if it is really a high grade zone the average grade would need to be higher - say 0.7 or higher but not more than 1.0 producing more resources.
When I spoke to Nic 12-15 months ago he told me they had considered coming out with a resource then but had decided to wait. I took this to mean to do a lot more drilling to come out with a bigger resource.
Based on the drill results to date why would they come out with a resource just for the high breccia pipes? They would have a high grade cutoff above 1.0g/t AuEq and come out with a resource of 3mOz AuEq or more. This would not include all the central high grade zone just the breccia pipes within it.
Why would ALK limit itself to a resource based just on the breccia pipes within the central zone? If they did wouldn’t it LIMIT mining options to just one and may even rule out open cut options.
From ALKs statements to date it seemed they are considering all mining options - they certainly not stated they are limiting their development options.
ALK would be crazy not to consider all mining development options and so I expect them to include low grade parts of the deposit in the MRE.

The key messages I took from the the announcements. Presentations and interviews were:
1. the maiden resource is just the beginning and will become a lot bigger - IMO multiples time the resource will end up being at least 3 times as big as the maiden resource (that would not be unusual for most mines).
2. They are looking for more high grade at Korridor, Boda 2 and eventually deeper at Kaiser. Who knows they may find other high grade zones elsewhere and it won’t surprise me if they do. Ian made an Interesting comment that Kaiser may have higher grade deeper as that is where the higher grades seem to exist
3. They are looking at open outs at Boda and Kaiser - Ian noted to get cash quickly- adding in Tommie this May suggest they want to do this to get enough cash to develop the expensive block cave on their own. This would be a good strategy. Cadia initially had an open pit (big cadia I think) and then a smaller under ground mine before developing the monster cadia east.
4. still drilling for knowledge for next 2-3 years - this makes so much sense as they can decide how to develop what could end up being a monster deposit at NMPP to maximise value and not waste money.
5. I expect they will eventually end up with a lower cutoff grade (Ian admitted they deliberately a conservative cutoff).
Lots of blue sky for NMPP. But they need to get the average grade up
re takeover by major - unless Gandell family sell (30%) then that is not going to happen. My money is on them developing it themselves - skills in block cave mines can be acquired

1. Agree 100%. My view 3x bigger as bare minimum. 5-7x perhaps. Just Kaiser and Southern part of Boda1 and Boda2 will produce another ~25-30Moz.
2. They said they are drilling high grade resource at Kaiser (drilling just finished and now awaiting on assays). Let's see if this is going to be high grade or again low grade. In the past they said they are targeting only the high grade at Boda but MRE ended up being nothing like high grade and this is where most of us got caught. Message was not clear.. I am not saying it was wrong to go with larger (much larger) resource but lower grade though. I like what they released but they did not communicated well their strategy.. unless they changed their mind very late which is possible..
Also, to pull such option (my view) I think they will need few more high grade zones as running smaller operation at the start will deplete lot of high grade zones and may not leave enough for blending while the low grade is too low..
So finding more high grade zones will be crucial. If they can get enough high grade to run smaller operation while keeping the overall resource at >0.5g/t AuEq for block cave mining then it will probably work.
3. I missed that. It may work but it is worth noting that what worked 30 years ago may not work now due to how expensive is to develop anything these days. It may work. I have different view and would prefer they drill for at least another 3 years and cover few prospects outside Boda/Kaiser before making decisions on what direction they should take.

Grundsätzliche Überlegungen zum Goldpreis: gerade habe ich auf Twitter von Julien Bridgen eine Nachricht gelesen zur Inflation in der Eurozone. Also auf die letzten 3 Monate gesehen, liegen wir bei 16% Inflation im Schnitt. Euroland ist ausser Rand und Band sagt Bridgen und ich füge hinzu, gerade auch durch den schwachen Euro bei steigenden Preisen für Energie. Die Anleihemärkte zeigen Wirkung. Wie wird die EZB agieren? Daher ist es für mich nur eine Frage der Zeit, bis der Goldpreis reagiert, auch im Angesichts des drohenden Unheils (der Begriff ist von mir ggf. Zu drastisch; besser ist dafür Preisbereinigung) im Immobilienmarkt. Und dann hat da ALK ein Monster mit 30 bis 40 Millionen Unzen am Start. Da dürfte auch bei dem möglichen „low grade“ genügend Marge sein, um wirtschaftlich zu sein.

Braucht das Geld für ein anderes Invest. Nun wird gerätselt wer gekauft hat und ihn so runtergehandelt hat. Daher auch Vermutung, dass ein Margin Call bei Gandel stattgefunden hat oder die Not sehr gross war. Ich habe die Gelegenheit genitzt heute nacht und günstig nachgekauft.
Heftige Diskussionen auf HC bzgl. dieses Kommunikationsdesasters durch Chairman Ian Gandel und CEO Nick Earner. Es gab über Stunden, nachdem bekannt wurde, dass vorbörslich vom Chairman selbst ein erhebliches Aktienpaket abgestossen wurde, teilweise panische Verkäufe bzw. Automatisierte Stopp-Loss Orders dadurch und damit verbunden einen erheblichen finanziellen Schaden für die Aktionäre. Es wurde spekuliert, dass es vielleicht einen Unfall in der Mine gegeben hat oder ein Naturereignis. Daher gibt es erste Rücktrittsforderungen an CEO NE, da das Vertrauen in das Management beschädigt ist. Ich wundere mich gerade nur, was da los ist. Wieso da jetzt so viel Unruhe bei ALK reinkommt, als hätten wir nicht schon genug Verunsicherung durch das Versagen der Notenbanken und Politik, Kryptoscherbenhaufen, bevorstehden Pleitewellen von verschuldeten Staaten, Firmen, Individuellen Immobilienfinanzierungen, Privatinsolvenzen usw. Dann muss da einer, wie Gandel, mit unter den Top xx reichsten Australiern Kasse machen, weil er das Geld kurzfristig braucht für einen anderen Deal. Wat fürn ….!

Jetzt ist die „Kacke“ so richtig am Dampfen. Allerdings nicht bei ALK. Evolution Mining hat eine heftige Herabstufung nach den letzten Meldungen zu seinen Minen in WA und NSW erfahren. Und laut Financial Review färbt dies auf die gesamte australische Gold Mining Industry ab.
Update. ALK hat auch in diesem Jahr die eigenen Vorgaben übertroffen und zwar mit 10% über der obersten Spanne. Auch schreiben sie, dass sie vergleichsweise gut Corona, Hochwasser überstanden haben. Nach vorläufigen Zahlen haben sie 124 Mio. A$ an Cash, Gold und Beteiligungswerten. Weitere Informationen gibt es zur Veröffentlichung der Quartalszahlen Ende Juli.
Habt Ihr die Jahresperformance von ALK gesehen? Mal wieder phantastisch. Einfach mal 70 Millionen eingefahren. Mit dem Bestand und dem Wert der Beteiligungen 124. ein hervorragendes finanzielles Polster für die Erforschungsaktivitäten bei NMPP/Boda. Die haben zwischenzeitlich IPT noch Land abgekauft Richtung Boda 2 und 3.

moin, weiss jemand was daraus geworden ist? alkane wollte doch gross in den ree markt einsteigen, eine erzeugungsanlage ala lynas aufstellen und dieses mit seinen goldgewinne realisieren/finanzieren. die pilotanlage laeuft doch bereits seit ueber 10jahren erfolgreich. was ist daraus geworden?
Bin gerade auf diese Aktie gestoßen. Kann mir jemand sagen wie weit die mit seltenen Erden sind (Hafnium usw.) oder besteht das Hauptgeschäft in Gold?
