F5 Networks rises nearly 18 pct as analysts see rebound

THURSDAY, JANUARY 25, 2001 3:41:00 PM EST

LOS ANGELES, Jan 25 (Reuters) - F5 Networks Inc.`s FFIV stock on
Thursday rose more than 15 percent in late trade, as analysts noted
that the stock price had likely hit bottom and was attractively priced
after falling to its lowest levels in a year and a half.

Shares of the company, which provides Internet traffic management
solutions, were up 18 percent or $2-7/16 to $16 on volume of 2.3
million shares, double its typical daily volume.

F5`s stock has fallen from highs of $142-1/8 a year ago as the market
for Internet infrastructure stocks has weakened amid economic
uncertainty.

Seattle-based F5 said a month ago its earnings for its recently
completed first quarter would be lower than expected, sending the
share price down 20 percent. The company is scheduled to report
earnings on Tuesday.

"It`s still a really viable company and very cheap at these levels,"
Adam Holiber of Wedbush Morgan said.

He added that no particular news appeared to be propelling the stock.

Nokia OEMs F5`s Internet traffic and content management software, pursues joint technology development opportunities and makes investments in F5 Networks

Nokia (NYSE: NOK) and F5 Networks, Inc.
