Moin,

Was meint ihr????

3G Network Construction Slowing Down

Article: Excitement has more than mellowed regarding the touted next-generation wireless networks, and only in the past six months.
With no plan to charge customers enough to recoup costs, deeply in debt European wireless carriers are having to join forces to build the costly networks.
In the U.S., schedules are slowing down and rollout dates are moving in preparation for the inevitable decrease in infrastructure spending. Companies like NT, ERICY, LU and NOK may be forced to scale back their next-generation wireless commitment projections. Infrastructure sales make up about 25% and 80% of revenues for NT and ERICY, respectively.
Manufacturers are already offering discounts up to 30% that they may not be able to cover, as most went in debt to pay for next-generation licenses. This may mean a reliance on vendor financing.
It is a hard sell. Companies willing to go forward with the 3G equipment could have to wait years to see any profits. The network builders depend on infrastructure upgrades for their own profits. Upgrades will likely be delayed.
Though manufacturers say market concerns are exaggerated, they cannot deny that all new technologies have challenges when introduced into the market. Pressures will be both public relations-oriented as well as financial, and both need to be overcome for 3G to succeed.
