Morgan
J.P. Morgan Chase will Enron verklagen
dpa/vwd NEW YORK.

wieder 0,62$ ...
jetzt fast doppelt soviel Kauforders in Ammiland... weiter so

Chief Financial Officer Jeff McMahon said at a meeting of creditors that the company plans to sell its troubled water unit Azurix Corp. (AZX) , businesses in emerging markets and its wind energy assets.
McMahon said Enron has about $13 billion in unsecured bank debt and an additional $2 billion in secured bank debt.
He said the Houston-based company plans to emerge from Chapter 11 bankruptcy protection within a year. On Dec. 2, the company sought bankruptcy protection in the biggest such filing in U.S. corporate history.
Enron plans to raise between $4 billion to $6 billion with the non-core asset sale. It plans to retain its exploration and production unit, wholesale and retail services and regulated businesses.

Australia and China, and existing contracts in the United Kingdom, Germany,
Australia, Colombia, South Africa, Indonesia, Poland, Russia and Venezuela.
AEP Energy Services purchased the contracts today from PricewaterhouseCoopers,
the administrators of Enron Capital & Trade Resources Ltd. bankruptcy
proceedings in the UK. AEP Energy Services also hired 22 former Enron employees,
the leaders from that very successful coal marketing organization.
"We are aggressively building our wholesale energy capabilities in the United
Kingdom and Europe, using our very successful U.S. wholesale structure as a
model," said Hank Jones, senior vice president with AEP Energy Services and head
of AEP`s wholesale business in Europe. "Although today`s deal pertains to people
and contracts instead of a major capital expenditure for assets, it represents a
major milestone in our growth.
"This deal provides us with immediate expertise in global coal logistics,
trading and marketing, positioning AEP Energy Services to be a leader in coal
markets in the UK and Europe," Jones said. "It also provides us with the ability
to capture locational arbitrage, allowing us to benefit from differences in coal
prices in various parts of the world."
American Electric Power`s growth strategy focuses on key aspects of the
wholesale fuel and power generation value chain -- generation and related energy
assets, wholesale marketing and trading of energy commodities, fuel procurement
and transportation and related activities. AEP Energy Services` London office
markets and trades power, natural gas and coal in the UK and Europe.
"I`m pleased that our team is joining AEP and will continue playing a central
role in the transformation of coal markets," said Stuart Staley, head of Enron`s
coal team who will assume a similar position with AEP Energy Services. "We will
continue our work to bring price transparency and greater liquidity and
efficiency to the coal marketplace."
In a separate transaction, AEP Energy Services announced Monday that it had
signed a five-year sublease for capacity on the Interconnector gas pipeline
connecting Great Britain with mainland Europe. The sublease provides AEP Energy
Services with 500,000 therms a day forward flow (approximately 50 million cubic
feet per day) and 210,000 therms of reverse flow (approximately 20 million cubic
feet per day). Financial terms of the sublease were not disclosed.
"The Interconnector agreement underscores our commitment to the evolving
European gas market," Jones said.
In October, AEP Energy Services announced plans to acquire 4,000 megawatts of UK
coal-fired generation from Edison Mission Energy. The transaction to acquire the
Fiddlers Ferry and Ferrybridge plants should close by the end of the year.
American Electric Power is a multinational energy company based in Columbus,
Ohio. AEP owns and operates more than 38,000 megawatts of generating capacity,
making it America`s largest generator of electricity. The company is also a
leading wholesale energy marketer and trader, ranking second in North America in
wholesale electricity and wholesale natural gas volume. AEP provides retail
electricity to more than 7 million customers worldwide and has holdings in the
U.S. and select international markets. Wholly owned subsidiaries are involved in

AEP buys Enron Europe coal marketing unit
(UPDATE: adds quote from AEP statement para 2, detail throughout)
LONDON, Dec 12 (Reuters) - U.S. power group American Electric Power (AEP) (NYSE:AEP - news) has bought the coal contracts and London-based coal marketing network of Enron`s (NYSE:ENE - news) bankrupt European arm for an undisclosed sum, AEP said on Wednesday.
``This deal provides us with immediate expertise in global coal logistics, trading and marketing, positioning AEP Energy Services to be a leader in coal markets in the UK and Europe,`` said Hank Jones, senior vice president AEP Energy Services, in a statement.
AEP said its European arm, AEP Energy Services, bought Enron`s coal operations from PricewaterhouseCoopers (PWC), administrators in the UK of bankrupt Enron unit Enron Capital & Trade Resources Ltd.
PWC was appointed administrator to Enron`s Europe operations on 29 November as a financial crisis engulfed Enron in the U.S.
PWC could not be reached for comment.
Under the deal, AEP acquired offices and staff in the UK, Germany, Australia and China. It bought coal contracts in the UK, Germany, Australia, Colombia, South Africa, Indonesia, Poland, Russia and Venezuela.
AEP said it had hired 22 former Enron staff involved in coal marketing.
AEP already trades in Europe`s wholesale power, natural gas and coal markets from London.
Und noch eine:
European oil giant Royal Dutch/Shell (quote from Yahoo! UK & Ireland: SHEL.L) is considering bids for a number of Enron Corp.`s (NYSE:ENE - news) U.S. assets following the energy dealer`s spectacle collapse, according to industry sources.
The sources told Reuters that Shell executives are poring over operations now on the block after bankruptcy officials took control of the fallen Texan energy trader earlier this month.
``The slide rules are out,`` one source said. ``It`s a learning process but there is no time being lost.``
The sources would not give details of which assets are of serious interest to Shell.
However, analysts said the company could spend several billions of dollars on discounted U.S. gas pipeline networks to complement its existing Tejas Gas gas pipes and storage business and its InterGen power generation joint venture with privately owned U.S. construction firm Bechtel.
Shell declined to comment.
Enron grew into the world`s dominant trader of gas and electricity before unusual accounting practices, high debts and a loss of trading counterparty confidence brought it down.
However, it was originally a U.S. utility, and much of its business remains asset based.
Enron said on Wednesday it plans to raise up to $6 billion through the sale of assets as the company moves to return to its operating model of a decade ago.
Chief Financial Officer Jeff McMahon said at a meeting of creditors that the company plans to sell its troubled water unit Azurix Corp. (NYSE:AZX - news), businesses in emerging markets and its wind energy assets.
Some of Enron`s businesses are already spoken for.
Its Portland General Electric electric power utility in Oregon already carries a ``sold`` sign after Northwest Natural Gas Co. (NYSE:NWN - news) agreed to buy it in October for $1.8 billion.
And rival Dynegy (NYSEYN - news) has staked a claim to Enron`s Northern Natural Gas pipeline because it was security for a $1.5 billion loan it made to the stricken company as part of an abortive rescue takeover bid. This is now the subject of a legal battle.
TRANSWESTERN PIPELINE
Top of Shell`s potential shopping list could be the flexible 2,700 mile Transwestern Pipeline that can carry natural gas either west to California or east to Texas.
Transwestern is part of Enron Transportation Services arm, one of a string of U.S. Enron entities that filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy this month.
Then there is the 4,700 mile Florida Gas Transmission network that extends from Texas to Miami and offers links to the U.S. Gulf and other producing regions, and the Northern Border Partners LP linking Western Canada`s vast gas reserves with U.S. markets.
``I would imagine it would most likely be the Transwestern line,`` said Commerzbank`s New York-based utilities analyst Andre Meade.
Enron`s extensive South American operations may also be of interest to Shell, which has long sought a downstream presence in the region to help bring its natural gas to market.
Pipeline operator Kinder Morgan (NYSE:KMP - news) said on Wednesday it will buy a 33.3 percent portion of the Trailblazer Pipeline Co from a unit of Enron for $68 million. Kinder Morgan will own Trailblazer Pipeline, which runs from Colorado to Nebraska, in its entirety after the purchase.
Enron plans to retain its exploration and production unit, wholesale and retail services and regulated electricity businesses.
