Integrated Defense Technologies Subsidiary, PEI Electronics, Inc. Awarded $6.3 Million Contract by U.S. Army
HUNTSVILLE, Ala., Mar 28, 2002 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- Integrated
Defense Technologies, Inc.`s (NYSE: IDE), subsidiary, PEI Electronics, Inc., has
received a contract award totaling $6.3 million, from the U.S. Army Tank &
Automotive Command (TACOM), Rock Island, IL, for production of 134 embedded
diagnostic systems (Sidecar), for M1A1 AIM Abrams Tank production. Work will be
done at PEI`s Cummings Research Park facility with contract completion by July
31, 2003.
"Our Sidecar technology significantly increases the availability, readiness, and
efficiency of existing weapons systems and subsystems," said Thomas Keenan,
President and CEO. "We believe this technology has many military and commercial
applications."
Sidecar (Patent Pending) provides access to system test signals, without
modifications to the system`s components. Sidecar monitors and digitizes up to
120 analog or discrete signals, and data can be collected and analyzed "real-
time." PEI Electronics markets the Sidecar product as "An embedded Diagnostic
Solution for Government and Commercial applications."
Integrated Defense Technologies, Inc., is a developer and provider of advanced
electronics and technology products to the defense and intelligence industries.
IDT products are installed on or used in support of a wide array of military
platforms, to enhance their operational performance or extend their useful life.
