SAMEX Mining Corp.: Update on Gold Targets-Exploration Area II, Los Zorros, Chile
Friday December 16, 4:47 pm ET

      ABBOTSFORD, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 16, 2005) - SAMEX Mining Corp. (TSX VENTURE:SXG - News; OTCBB:SMXMF - News) -
      ADVERTISEMENT

A gravity geophysical survey, detailed geologic mapping, and re-logging of certain Phase I drill core has helped to better understand and outline gold targets in Exploration Area II of the Los Zorros property. The nature and geochemistry of these targets were previously reported in News Release No. 1-05 dated January 21, 2005. Three of these targets (see Figure 1), Target A (Milagro Mine), Target C (Milagro Pampa) and Target D (La Florida), will be included for drilling as part of the proposed Phase II exploration program to follow-up numerous gold, copper-gold and silver targets on the Los Zorros property. Target B is not currently being considered for follow up, but may be pursued at a later date depending upon further results in the area. The three targets are summarized as follows:

Target A (Milagro Mine) (see Figure 2) is an area where Phase I drilling intersected gold-mineralized mantos and underlying thick hydrothermal breccia that may be part of an important gold zone. The mantos zone was intersected between drilling depths of 27.0 to 31.7 meters. The gold content ranges from 1.240 grams/metric tonne to 4.140 g/mt and averages 2.579 g/mt gold with a silver average credit of 15.9 g/mt over a true width of 4.4 meters (previously reported in News Release No. 1-05). Of importance, the gold-mineralized mantos occurs within a very wide halo of strongly anomalous gold values. The gold mineralization (mantos) of the Milagro Mine area is fortuitously located in an uplifted (horst) block and occurs just below the floor of a gabbro body. The gravity expression of the dense gabbro body masks the presence of the low-gravity character of the underlying altered rocks which host the gold mineralization. The surface extent and indications of gold mineralization in the horst block defines a target size of 300 to 400 meters across by 800 meters down dip (easterly). The mantos interval and better mineralized upper part of the underlying breccia are together approximately 50-meters thick. If better grade gold-mineralized intervals can be found by drilling, the target dimensions are permissive for 25 million to 35 million metric tons within the uplifted (horst) block. The spatial extent of the gold-mantos and underlying breccia zone in down-dropped blocks to the north and south flanking the horst block of the target area are unknown at this stage, and may be the focus of later explorations efforts. Two or three core holes are planned to drill the projected down-dip continuation of the gold mineralized mantos interval and underlying breccia to the east.

Target C (Milagro Pampa) (see Figure 3) is a stockwork-veined, sericite-clay-quartz-altered/pyritized gabbro sill with strongly anomalous copper-gold-silver and mercury content which is concealed beneath pampa cover and was discovered during Phase I drilling in hole ML-04-03 (previously reported in News Release No. 1-05). The strong alteration, anhydrite and quartz-pyrite stockwork veining, and highly anomalous copper content intersected suggests that Milagro Pampa is near the center of the intrusive porphyry source of the mineralizing system. The typical gravity high expression of the gabbro over the region is considerabley diminished by the alteration/mineralization effects at Milagro Pampa. The hole did not quite reach and penetrate through the floor of an altered and mineralized gabbro body, but garnet skarn xenolith blocks comprising the last twenty meters suggest that the hole was stopped near the floor contact with underlying rock. The strong alteration, pyritization and variable anomalous copper over the entire length of the hole may comprise the outer halo to substantial gold-copper mineralization hosted in altered porphyry and layered skarnoid sedimentary and volcaniclastic rocks that likely underlie the gabbro body.

In light of the gold mineralization being concentrated just below the floor of the gabbro unit at the Milagro Mine (Target A), exploration results make a strong case to test for copper-gold mineralization underlying the gabbro in the Milagro Pampa area. The fault-bounded prospective area of Milagro Pampa measures 1000 meters by 500 meters with the top of the target becoming progressively deeper in a down-dip direction to the east (ranging approximately 400 to 500 meters vertical depth). One to two core drill holes are proposed to test this target during Phase II.

Target D (La Florida) (see Figure 4) is an area where Phase I trenching and sampling exposed silicified and clay-altered quartz-eye porphyritic intrusion with significantly anomalous gold content including a 138-meter interval averaging 0.405 g/mt (previously reported in News Release No. 1-05). The gold mineralized/altered intrusion intrudes up through a little-altered, thick diorite sill and coincides with a well-defined gravity low. The surface outcropping, oval-shaped area of gold mineralized quartz-eye porphyritic dacite intrusion encompasses approximately 200 meters wide by 400 meters long. Similar altered/mineralized porphyritic intrusion outcrops/daylights elsewhere in the vicinity, indicating the target extends over a much greater distance beneath the surrounding area. One to two core drill holes are proposed to test this target during Phase II.

The Phase II drilling program being planned for Los Zorros is expected to entail approximately 5,000 meters of core drilling, bulldozer trenching, geologic mapping, rock-chip and trench sampling and assaying (see News Release No. 8-05, Sept. 9th, 2005). The complete program is estimated to cost CDN $1,500,000. Funding for this program will be sought through private placement financings, and drilling will begin once remaining targets are fully defined/prepared and funding is in place. Bulldozer trenching has been completed in Exploration Area IV, and geologic mapping, sampling and assaying are ongoing in order to define targets for Phase II drilling. Target descriptions will be announced once the data is compiled and evaluated.

Samex Mining Corp.: `INCA Project`-New Copper-Gold Opportunity in Chile
Wednesday January 11, 7:30 pm ET

ABBOTSFORD, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Jan. 11, 2006) - SAMEX (TSX VENTURE:SXG - News; OTCBB:SMXMF - News) has signed letters of intent ("LOIs") with property owners of concessions covering historically mined copper-gold deposits in the San Pedro de Cachiyuyo district, near Inca de Oro, Region III, Chile. The LOIs give SAMEX exclusive rights, exercisable until February 28, 2006, to enter into binding option-to-purchase agreements, subject to financing, title due-diligence and further geologic evaluation. SAMEX has also staked several concessions on open ground in the area and will refer to the overall property grouping as the INCA project.

The INCA project is adjacent to an apparent recent discovery of significant porphyry-hosted copper (-gold) sulfide mineralization found by Chilean copper miner CODELCO, through their concerted core drilling beneath covered pampa just southeast of the Inca de Oro village. Immediately southwest of the village is a 15 km trend which hosts the famous Inca de Oro high-grade-gold mines dating back to the time of the Incas. The INCA project is located 100 kilometers north of Copiapo, Chile and 5 kilometers east of the village of Inca de Oro. The district is readily accessible by the paved highway connecting Copiapo and the El Salvador copper mine, and is well-located for bringing in infrastructure and developing a moderate to large mining operation.

The project area has historically been worked to shallow depths via small mines for high-grade oxide copper and enriched copper-sulfide ores with a gold and molybdenum credit, mostly from elongate breccia bodies and veined zones. There are four principal northwest- and east-northeast-trending mineralized zones. These zones host localized tourmalinized breccia bodies where mining has been focused. The district has been little explored by drilling. SAMEX`s target objective is to explore beneath the mined areas for substantial deposits of enriched secondary copper-sulfide and primary copper sulfide ores with important gold and molybdenum credits hosted by porphyry copper intrusions beneath the area. Also, important amounts of oxide-copper mineralization may still remain in several areas.

The INCA project is positioned in the belt of upper Cretaceous igneous intrusions (plutons and batholiths), volcanic rocks, and sedimentary rocks. This belt hosts the world-class El Salvador porphyry copper deposit located 60 kilometers to the north. The INCA concessions and area of exploration interest covering the mineralized zones and small mines measures approximately 5 kilometers long by 3 kilometers wide.

If SAMEX elects to enter into and exercise its purchase options, funding of approximately CDN $4 million will be required over the next three years to cover property option payments and initial exploration expenditures on the project. The Company will announce further particulars of the INCA project, including the terms of the formal option agreements, if it elects to proceed after satisfactory completion of due diligence and obtaining adequate financing. The INCA project is without a proven resource at this time, and there is no assurance that commercial quantities of minerals will be discovered. SAMEX believes this project offers significant potential, particularly considering its mining history and its proximity to the adjacent CODELCO discovery. The project offers the potential for an early exploration success and, due to the existence of favorable local infrastructure, the prospect of rapid development of the property. The INCA project strongly compliments the Company`s Chilean exploration activities including its ongoing Los Zorros project and its recently announced silver joint-exploration effort with SilverCrest Mines.

      Hallo zusammen,

Samex Mining signs deal for more Inca concessions

      2006-03-01 16:55 ET - News Release

      Mr. Robert Kell reports

SAMEX MINING CORP.: ADDITIONAL ACQUISITION RIGHTS-INCA PROJECT, CHILE

Samex Mining Corp. has signed a third letter of intent giving the company the exclusive right to enter into an option agreement to acquire additional concessions located within the Inca project area. The parties have until the end of April to conduct appropriate due diligence and complete a formal option agreement. Samex has also completed additional staking in the Inca project area.

Due diligence related to previously announced letters of intent is progressing well and parties have mutually agreed to extend the date for executing formal option agreements until the end of March.

The Inca project is located 60 kilometres south of and within the same geologic belt as the El Salvador porphyry copper deposit and adjacent to the recent and continuing Codelco drilling focused on a new discovery of porphyry-hosted copper mineralization just to the west of the Inca project area. The geologic setting and features of the Inca project area suggest the possible presence of a coherent, extensive copper-gold-molybdenum porphyry system at moderate depths beneath the numerous, small, historic oxide-copper mines scattered throughout the project area.

Samex`s objective is to explore beneath the mined areas and along the altered/mineralized zones to discover substantial porphyry-hosted deposits of enriched secondary copper-sulphide (chalcocite/covellite) and primary copper sulphide ores (chalcopyrite-bornite) with important gold and molybdenum credits. Further information concerning the option/acquisition terms and technical aspects of exploration targets of the Inca project will be announced upon execution of formal option agreements.

The geologic technical information in this news release was prepared by Robert Kell, vice-president of exploration for Samex. Mr. Kell is a qualified person pursuant to Canadian Securities National Instrument 43-101 concerning standards of disclosure for mineral projects.

Samex adds 5,000 ha to Inca; plans core drill program

      Samex Mining Corp (TSX-V:SXG)
      Shares Issued 66,523,165
      Last Close 3/24/2006 $0.68
      Friday March 24 2006 - News Release

      Mr. Robert Kell reports

SAMEX SECURES STRATEGIC LAND POSITION AT INCA PROJECT, CHILE

Samex Mining Corp. secured rights to more than 5,000 hectares of mineral concessions at the Inca project in Chile by staking, by purchase of concessions at a government auction and by three separate agreements for options to purchase mineral concessions (see news releases No. 1-06 and 5-06). The core of the concessions covers numerous small copper mines situated within a 20-square-kilometre area (2,000 hectares) near Inca De Oro, Chile. Under the terms of the three agreements, Samex can acquire 100-per-cent interest in concessions covering 2,203 hectares by making option payments totalling $2.6-million (U.S.) in total over thee years as follows: $675,000 (U.S.) initial payment; $300,000 (U.S.) in 12 months; $375,000 (U.S.) in 24 months; and $1.25-million (U.S.) in 36 months. Under one agreement, concessions covering 2,138 hectares are subject to a 1-per-cent net smelter return royalty and the owner has the right to purchase up to 50 per cent of any oxide-copper production at cost from Samex (to a limit of 10,000 tonnes per month) and subject to a cumulative maximum of 1.2 million tonnes or 10 years, which ever is reached first. Under a second agreement, concessions covering 45 hectares are subject to a 1-per-cent net smelter return royalty on copper for period of 20 years but Samex has the option to buyout the royalty at any time for $500,000 (U.S.).

The Inca property is located 90 kilometres north of Copiapo, Chile, and 6.0 kilometres east of the paved highway that connects Copiapo to Diego Del Amargo and the El Salvador mine. The location is well situated with good access, expansive surrounding space for large mining operation infrastructure, and bringing in water and electrical power. Samex plans to carry out a concerted exploration effort at the Inca project to search for large porphyry copper-gold-silver-molybdenum deposits. Of interest, Chilean copper company, Codelco, continues to pursue drill exploration of its important recent porphyry copper discovery on its property adjacent to the Inca project.

The Inca project area has been the centre of small mining activity (Cachiyuyo de Oro district) primarily for production of oxide-copper and, more recently, secondary enriched copper sulphide ores. Most of the production has been from localized open-cut workings and, in several places, shafts positioned on tourmaline breccia, altered brecciated intrusive rock and sheeted vein zones. These mineralized occurrences are the typical high-level expression to deeper-seated, source porphyry copper intrusions of likely much larger size with great upside exploration potential. Very little exploration work (especially drilling) has been carried out around the small mines. Only one limited part of the Inca project area at the Lower Manto Cuba mine has been drilled during an Empresa Nacional Minera ((Enami) a Chilean government company) program in 1971 with important implications for exploration. The holes not only demonstrate the position, thickness and grade characteristics of oxide and enriched secondary sulphide ores, but reveal the presence, at depth just below and around these zones, of altered porphyry-hosted, primary (hypogene) copper-sulphide mineralization. Small miners, without capital for exploration or infrastructure (water and power) or to build a mill and plant to process secondary or primary copper sulphide ore, could only focus on mining areas of readily accessible oxide-copper ore feed for the nearby Chatal leach plant. With this plant long closed, oxide ores which are hand sorted for direct-shipping grade (greater than 2.5 per cent copper) oxide and some enriched ores are currently trucked several times a month in small quantities to the Enami heap leach plant and smelter complex at Paipote, near Copiapo, Chile.

At the Inca project, Samex has identified five important targets of copper mineralization with significant credits of molybdenum, and also locally for gold and silver. These targets include: Upper Manto de Cuba, Lower Manto Cuba, San Pablo, Delirio and Tucumata. Other less well-defined smaller targets to be further evaluated, have also been found to be present on the acquired property position and include: Jardinera, Concepcion, San Antonio, Puntilla and Dos Amigos. The area containing these targets is the typical size for centres of porphyry copper systems of the early to mid-tertiary igneous belt of the northern part of Chile (Collahuasi, Quebrada Blanca, El Abra, Chuquicamata, Radomiro Tomic, Escondida and El Salvador). The Inca project is positioned at the south end of this geologic belt and within a well-defined structural corridor of numerous centres of mineralization including the large El Salvador (Codelco) porphyry copper deposit (970 million metric tonnes -- 0.68 per cent copper, 0.022 per cent molybdenum, 0.10 grams per metric tonne gold), the Inca de Oro gold-copper vein swarm, the Tres Puntas and Chimbero silver mining district, and the previously mentioned Codelco discovery of porphyry-hosted copper-gold mineralization. The geochemical makeup of ore and mineralization in the Inca area is illustrated in the following table of samples recently taken by Samex from ore stockpiles and dumps of the small active mines on the property. These results are similar to those from earlier Samex reconnaissance sampling. Note the potassium (K) enrichment and depletion of calcium (Ca) and sodium (Na) which reflects the altered porphyry host for the mineralized samples.

Initial field review of all the targets at the Inca project by Samex, which outlined the extent of small mine workings, speculatively suggests that historic production may have cumulatively reached to approximately 2.5 million metric tonnes of oxide-copper ore and less than 1.5 million metric tonnes of enriched secondary copper-sulphide ore. Although oxide ore may be exhausted at several mines (Lower Manto Cuba and San Pablo), important resources may remain especially at three mine areas (Delirio, Tucumata and Jardinera). Enriched secondary copper-sulphide ores may have been largely mined out at Lower Manto Cuba, but have just been reached by small miners at deeper levels at San Pablo and Jardinera and remain intact (untouched) at Upper Manto Cuba, Delirio and Tucumata). Based on surface measurements made around open-cut mine workings and along the exposed trace of mineralized zones during reconnaissance evaluation of the property, Samex conservatively estimates a possible target cumulative potential of 5.2 million to 8.0 million metric tonnes of oxide-copper ore (0.75 per cent to 1.5 per cent soluble copper, average grade), and 15.6 million to 20.0 million metric tonnes of enriched secondary copper sulphide ore (2.5 per cent to 4.5 per cent total copper, average grade) to be present at shallow depths at the various target sites. At Delirio, Tucumata and Jardinera, a significant gold credit of 1.00 gram per metric tonne to 2.93 grams per metric tonne may also be present with both the oxide and enriched copper ores. Ranges of grade were determined from sampling of ore stockpiles at currently active small mines (San Pablo, San Antonio, Upper Manto Cuba and Jardinera) and dumps of inactive mines (Lower Manto Cuba, Concepcion, Delerio and Tucamana). Thicknesses typical for the oxide and enriched ores is estimated based on exposed workings and importantly from drill information from the 1971 Enami drill program. The drilling suggests that primary mineralization has an unknown depth extent in excess of 100 metres. The potential target size is based on a model developed by the company using available geological information which, although thought by the company to be a reasonable explanation for the occurrence of identified mineralization in the Inca area, has yet to be proven by drilling and other exploration activities. The potential quantity and grade of the target is conceptual in nature. There has been insufficient exploration to define a mineral resource and it is uncertain that further exploration will result in the target being delineated as a mineral resource.

Of importance, at two mine areas (Lower Manto Cuba and Concepcion), deeper workings have encountered primary copper sulphide ore hosted by altered porphyritic intrusive rock which has been stockpiled, or discarded on dumps. This material, which was sampled by Samex during initial reconnaissance sampling, contains 0.41 per cent to greater than 2.0 per cent copper, locally with credits in molybdenum (0.05 per cent to 0.08 per cent) and gold (0.3 gram per metric ton at Concepcion). There has never been a plant to process primary sulphide ore and produce concentrate on, or near, the property. So, although encountered in places by deeper mine workings, this material was historically, and to this day, ignored by the small miners. About 35 years ago, a single core drill hole, which was included as part of a 1971 Enami churn drilling program at Lower Manto Cuba, encountered the top of the primary copper sulphide zone at a depth of approximately 84 metres and is open ended to the bottom of the hole (140 metres depth). Grades range from 0.20 per cent to 2.65 per cent total copper over the one-metre sample widths, most samples contain greater than 0.50 per cent copper and the average grade is 0.83 per cent total copper (although Samex has not verified the grades in this drill hole, these grades are consistent with grades reported above from Samex sampling of primary copper sulphide ore hosted by altered porphyritic intrusive rock discarded on dumps or stockpiles). Some of the nearby, shallow, churn drill holes from the same program also encountered primary copper sulphide mineralization at depths as shallow as 48 metres with average grades of 0.8 per cent to just over 1.0 per cent total copper. Assuming that, with depth, the primary copper sulphide mineralization does not expand outward much beyond the surface widths, a cumulative target is conservatively estimated at from 120 million to 180 million metric tonnes with an average grade ranging between greater than 0.65 per cent to 1.0 per cent total copper as a discovery objective for exploring the target areas. Should the primary copper sulphide mineralization expand outward at depth the target potential would be dramatically increased. The estimate of this target size and grade is based upon grades and widths from the Enami drilling, from results of Samex sampling of primary copper sulphide mineralization from mine ore stockpiles and dumps, and from surface measurements made around open-cut mine workings and along the exposed trace of mineralized zones during reconnaissance evaluation of the property.

Exploration core drilling is planned to start testing each of the targets once funds are in place and budgets have been approved. An initial program of 15 to 20 holes totalling 6,000 metres is planned at a cost of approximately $1-million. The costs include additional surface geologic and survey work, geochemical assays, possible ground geophysical surveys to trace zones beneath covered pampa, and building both an exploration camp and core processing/storage facilities. The major objective of the drilling program will be to discover cumulatively very large tonnages of primary copper sulphide ore beneath the various mineralized zones. Much of this drilling will also be testing for shallower, higher grade oxide and enriched secondary copper sulphide ores which might be amenable to more-rapid mine development and provide near-term modest production.

      @Dere

      Gruss

SAMEX Mining Corp.: President's Letter to Shareholders, 2005 Annual Report, Annual General Meeting
Monday May 1, 5:51 pm ET

      ABBOTSFORD, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - May 1, 2006) - SAMEX Mining Corp. (TSX VENTURE:SXG - News; OTCBB:SMXMF - News) -

      To Our Shareholders,

Last year we asked you for patience as we advanced the detailed geology at Los Zorros and I'm glad we did. The high-grade gold mineralization encountered within the NORA area is unfolding as a very exciting exploration target that may prove to be hugely rewarding for all of us shareholders.

We have also begun the early geologic evaluations (trenching/sampling etc.) within Exploration Area IV and we're encountering favorable indications that similar high-grade targets may exist beneath this large target area as well. Our thinking at this point is that we may be in the early stages of discovering a new gold deposit type for Chile that could produce a district of high-grade gold deposits within the Los Zorros project.

It is still very early stage at Los Zorros and much more work has to be done but we are pleased to own 100% of such an excellent opportunity at a time when investors are beginning to comprehend, as we have long believed, that gold and silver are precious and have been substantially undervalued. In support of our strong convictions concerning the precious metals, we co-hosted and sponsored the successful GATA GoldRush 21 conference where the economic foundation of gold and silver as honest money and true liberty were emphasized.

Another exciting and unexpected opportunity that came upon us this past year was the "INCA" project. We were in the right place at the right time to react instinctively when it came to our attention that the world's largest copper producer (Codelco) had made a new discovery in an area close to where we have been discretely accumulating silver prospects.

We quickly determined that the area of small copper mines, adjacent to the discovery, comprises a coherent copper-porphyry-type mineralized system hosting a cluster of high quality exploration targets. From there, our Chilean operations and legal staff went to work to identify the possibility of acquiring a meaningful land position. After months of persistent team effort, we have successfully secured a very strategic land position overlying tremendously prospective copper/gold/molybdenum geology, next to an exciting new discovery.

To wrap things up, I believe we are "poised for discovery" on not just one prospect, but three! Los Zorros for high-grade gold, INCA for copper/gold/molybdenum and Eskapa for high-grade silver/copper and gold (no we have not forgotten about Eskapa). The patient and consistent advancement of these properties has positioned us fortuitously at a time when the metals-markets are coming alive with investor interest and support that should handsomely reward those who deliver economic discoveries. Over the next eighteen months I expect we will not disappoint our shareholders but will most likely surprise them!

Thank you for your continued support.

      Ein Erklärungsversuch:

Why would any one in the right mind recommend an exploration stock with a $40 million market cap? For starters, the chart looks very good and infers significantly higher prices and the Company’s property package in Chile are potential elephant deposits.
This is a monthly chart, which I have used to show the deeply long term oversold condition of SXG’s share price. The share price peaked at $7.20 in 1996 and the dropped into along term bullish basing pattern. The initial move out of that base took the share price to $1.65 in December 2003. From that point the share price retreated to a low of $0.335 in May 2005. The ensuing rounding bottom projects to initial resistance at $1.25. Beyond that $1.65 offers resistance to a projected price target for this move of $ 2.65.

SAMEX Mining Corp.: Update-Inca Project, Chile
Thursday October 26, 12:59 pm ET

ABBOTSFORD, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Oct. 26, 2006) - SAMEX (TSX VENTURE:SXG - News; OTCBB:SMXMF - News) has made significant progress on its INCA copper/gold/moly project, near Inca de Oro, Chile. The Company has completed construction of camp facilities and has produced orthographic air-photos (covering approx. 45 sq. kms.) and detailed topographic maps over the mineralized target areas on the property, which will be utilized in geologic mapping and planning of drill-hole locations for the upcoming exploration work.

In addition, SAMEX has been seeking old reports and underground mining plans, etc. relative to the historic mining and exploration activities that have been conducted at INCA over the past 50+ years. During this long period, the small mines were held by an assortment of Chilean owners of varying means and abilities. Past activities were mostly focused over oxide copper mines in the area, using shallow churn drill holes to delineate additional oxide copper ore and some core holes were drilled to look at deeper parts of the mineralized areas. So far, SAMEX has been able to locate reports pertaining to geophysical IP surveys, geologic investigations, and much of the drilling including, fortuitously, some of the drill core from 1971 and 1990. Included with the old reports were portions of two IP geophysical studies, which were conducted over a part of the INCA project area in 1991 and 1992. These investigations outlined a very large and strong IP anomaly, 1200 meters by 400 meters in size, with several peripheral smaller anomalies. SAMEX is currently seeking bids from geophysical contractors to carry out an IP geophysical program to confirm the parameters of these anomalies.

With this newly acquired information, first hand accounts from old miners, and current field studies, SAMEX has been able to construct a geologic picture from the previous mining/exploration activities which is strongly supportive of the exploration targets at INCA. The Company's objective is to explore beneath the oxide copper mines for substantial deposits of primary copper-sulfide ores with important gold, silver and molybdenum credits. In places, secondary enriched ore may also turn out to be present capping the primary sulfide mineralization. As previously reported (see News Release No. 6-06), a quality suite of large highly prospective exploration targets have been identified and current work may expand or refine the targets as efforts progress. Detailed drill plans are being designed for each individual target area, focusing on expanding the known occurrences of primary and secondary enriched copper-sulfide mineralization which was encountered by previous mining/exploration activities. There has been insufficient exploration to define a mineral resource, and it is uncertain that further exploration will result in the targets being delineated as having mineral resources.

The INCA project is situated within a well-mineralized mining district and warrants aggressive exploration. In light of the property's mining history and SAMEX work to-date, the Company believes that, with the commitment of sufficient resources, the Project has the potential to proceed very quickly through exploration. With this in mind, SAMEX is presenting the project to senior mining groups who have expressed interest in the INCA project.

Interested readers are invited to visit the SAMEX website at www.samex.com to see satellite images, maps and photos of the INCA project, which will be updated as the project advances.

SAMEX Mining Corp.: Option Completed-Los Zorros Property, Chile
Thursday November 2, 3:31 pm ET

ABBOTSFORD, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Nov. 2, 2006) - SAMEX (TSX VENTURE:SXG - News; OTCBB:SMXMF - News) has completed the final option payment to acquire 100% interest in mineral concessions covering a small portion (209 hectares) of the Los Zorros property (approximately 7,895 hectares) in Chile. The payment of US$100,000 was made to exercise an option pursuant to the Unilateral Purchase Option Contract dated November 6, 2003, between SAMEX subsidiary, Minera Samex Chile S.A., and Compania Minera y Comercial Sali Hochschild S.A. Under the option, SAMEX acquired the concessions for a total of US$230,000 by making options payments of US$30,000 upon signing the Option Agreement; US$50,000 by October 31, 2004; US$50,000 by October 31, 2005; and US$100,000 by October 31, 2006. The optioned concessions are subject to a Net Smelter Return Royalty of up to 2%. SAMEX has an option to buyout the Royalty at any time for US$1,800,000. If the concessions are not in production by December 31, 2007, advance royalty payments of US$100,000 per year are required for five years (by March 1st of 2008, 2009, 20010, 20011, and 2012) to a maximum of US$500,000. The advance royalty payments are recoverable from future royalty payments. SAMEX is not obligated to make the advance royalty payments if it elects to return the concessions to the previous owner.

Jemand hat bei Samex angeklopft, hier die Infos:

If anyone is worried about their investment, I highly recommend getting in touch with samex management. I e-mailed the company with some questions and received a phone call from jeff dahl within a few days.
      - they're still very interested in Los Zorros, but the INCA property has too much potential to pass up right now, shaping up to be a possible company-making world-class property.
      - they're getting a lot of extremely positive feedback from analysts and geologists based on latest IP surveys, and once the market starts to 'get it' the stock should get out of the doldrums.
      - they've received a lot of interest for private placements, but they don't want to do it at the current (undervalued) share price, they would rather wait until the market digests the prelim results from INCA.
      - more IP data out soon
      - preliminary drilling should start at inca next year

they're not just poking around hoping to find something, they have a very possible huge discovery waiting in chile that they're very excited about. This takes a little patience because they're working with a small team and a small budget, but they're getting the job done.

      NEWS RELEASE

      Trading Symbols: TSXV:SXG or OTCBB:SMXMF No. 12-06 December 5, 2006

IP GEOPHYSICAL SURVEY UNDERWAY - INCA PROJECT, CHILE

An IP geophysical survey over parts of the INCA project in Chile has been initiated using contractor, Zonge Engineering. The current program is comprised of two, five kilometer-long lines with 100 meter “a” spacing. The two lines are positioned to confirm and provide further information about two important IP anomalies (see map below) that were identified from an earlier geophysical study (pre SAMEX), which was conducted by another party over a part of the INCA project area in 1991 (as mentioned in News Release No. 10-06, October 26, 2006). The new SAMEX lines will also be extended much further southward over gravel-covered pampa to search for additional, possibly concealed, porphyry-copper targets. When completed the current IP survey results may have an impact on the original target concepts and sizes within the INCA project area (see News Release No. 6-06, March 24, 2006), possibly providing evidence of more extensive disseminations of mineralization than originally considered.

One of the original IP anomalies is shown to have a strong chargeability expression (22 to 28 mV/sec) and is an elongate-shaped area measuring 1200 meters by 400 meters. This anomaly is centered over and aligned with a zone of copper-sulfide mineralized veins exploited via shafts to depths down to 300 meters (Puntilla, Matilde, Concepcion, San Antonio). Several of the shafts also intersected disseminated and veinlet primary copper-sulfide mineralization in quartz-sericite-pyrite- and biotite-altered intrusive rock below oxidation effects at vertical depths of around 70 meters. The latter pyritiferous, altered and copper-mineralized intrusive rock is the likely cause of this strong IP anomaly. The results of the previous survey suggest that this anomaly is open ended in a south-southeast direction toward and beneath an area of higher terrain where breccia pipes and zones/chimneys of fractured rock were mined on a small scale for oxide copper- and secondary enriched copper sulfide (Barraza, Manto Cuba, San Pedro). In this latter area, several shafts and some old drilling (core now in SAMEX possession) also intersected deeper seated, disseminated and veinlet primary copper-sulfide mineralization hosted by sericite- and biotite (potassic)-altered intrusive rocks.

The second IP anomaly (22 to 24 mV/sec) being evaluated was defined by one line of the 1991 survey and is positioned over the south end of a fracture zone mined in the past high on a hillside via open cut for oxide-copper mineralization (Tucumana). The map expression of the anomaly measures 400 meters across. Of interest, several old angled drill holes (core now in SAMEX possession), which were extended sufficiently deep, intersected primary copper-sulfide mineralization hosted by quartz-sericite-pyrite altered porphyritic intrusive rock at vertical depths 90 meters beneath the pit floor. This IP anomaly is open ended in a southeast direction toward another area (Providencia) where a tourmalinized collapse-breccia body was mined to 60 meters depth for oxide and enriched copper ores.

The new IP survey information should also help provide good depth control to the top of the primary copper sulfide mineralization over a larger area of the property, beyond the areas of pre-existing exploration and mine workings. Depending on results, further geophysical studies may be conducted. The survey results will also be used in the final planning of the core drilling program which is being designed to test multiple large porphyry-copper-gold-molybdenum targets at INCA.

      News:
SAMEX Mining Corp.: Expanding IP Geophysical Survey at Inca Project, Chile
Thursday December 21, 6:12 pm ET

      ABBOTSFORD, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(CCNMatthews - Dec. 21, 2006) - SAMEX Mining Corp. (TSX VENTURE:SXG - News; OTCBB:SMXMF - News) -

Preliminary results from the two long lines (+5 kilometers each) of IP geophysics at the INCA project in Chile have successfully demonstrated several open-ended anomalies coinciding with an earlier IP survey conducted by another party (pre-SAMEX see News Release No. 10-06, October 26, 2006). A new anomaly was also discovered in an unexpected area. Importantly, the survey outlines anomalous IP responses along both lines which can be related to primary copper-sulfide mineralization intersected in mine shafts and old exploration drill holes (1971 and 1991).

Based on these encouraging results, the IP geophysical program is being expanded with four additional lines totaling 16 kilometers. The expanded program will further map-out the anomalies and help in planning the upcoming core drilling program. The extent, character and dimensions of the various anomalies will be evaluated in detail and reported on once the survey is complete in January. It is expected that the IP geophysical survey results will have a positive impact on the target sizes and potentials at the INCA project.

SAMEX through a very methodical and intelligent approach to exploration, which has combined state-of-the-art surveying methods with old geological data, has demonstrated that they have a big discovery. Further drilling will be required to refine the size of the mineralized body, the average grades of metal content, and the economics of eventual development.

From the numbers given in the SAMEX press release the mineralization could easily yield 15 lbs/tonne of copper and with a conservative estimate of 800 million tonnes of mineralization this would yield 12 billion lbs of copper. If a very conservative value of this copper on a net profit basis is 5 cents per pound then the net profit potential is in the order of $600 million. This would value SAMEX at over $8 per share when it is today trading at $0.54!!

The investment world has met this prolific discovery with a yawn, probably because many investors do not understand the implications. The implications are monumental. What you have here is a discovery you can take to the bank before anyone has woken up to what is going on.

The average investor is only likely to wake up when they see results from a new exploratory drilling campaign which will be forth coming. At that point the headlines will scream “New Discovery” and the stock will go wild. But let me tell you that you heard it first at the café. This is a DISCOVERY!

      Bill,
SAMEX has made a press release announcing that their 10,000 meter, 25 core-hole, exploratory drilling program is on-going.

      http://biz.yahoo.com/ccn/070724/200707240404048001.html?.v=1

SAMEX is, in my opinion, one of the most diligent and professional junior exploration teams in the sector. They have been very quietly stalking what is highly likely to be a very large copper porphyry intrusion with significant gold, silver, and molybdenum credits. The drilling program at INCA is the culmination of 14 years of meticulous effort to understand the regional and local geology and secure the right prospective properties. Having spent over 20 years in the oil industry I know that success in exploration comes from choosing the right place to drill. Many junior miners with only rudimentary geological work go exploring with a drill bit and hope for the best, and as a consequence have some bitter disappointments! One of my other favorite companies, ECU, has 5 drill units operating and has not drilled a single hole that has not shown significant mineralization. Many investors who have no experience in geology and natural resource exploration do not appreciate what a feat that represents. That can only be achieved by having a thorough understanding of the geological environment. Seabridge has recently demonstrated what a diligent, meticulous approach to prospecting can deliver. SAMEX has done its homework which has taken time; the waiting has been frustrating to shareholders, but ultimately they will be rewarded for their patience because SAMEX has been diligently doing the kind of preparatory work that mitigates as much as possible the risk of exploration. The key to exploration success is to drill to confirm what you are convinced is there. While there are no guarantees in exploration I consider that SAMEX represents one of the best risk reward profiles in the sector today.

I am not the only one to recognize the quality of the exploration work that SAMEX has done; Jeff Dahl, the President, stated in the 2006 annual report

"One of my highlights this past year occurred during a boardroom presentation of our INCA project to a major mining/exploration group when the President complimented our VP Exploration, Rob Kell and our SAMEX team as ranking in the top 5% of the junior exploration companies he reviews for quality of projects and style of exploration approach"

My proprietary work, Market Force Analysis, indicates that copper is likely to make a huge upleg in the near term. I have been one of the few to recognize the prolific bull market developing in copper.

Analysts are, however, starting to wake up to the stellar prospects of copper and copper miners. Today an article at the mineweb.com http://www.mineweb.net/mineweb/view/mineweb/en/page36?oid=23… discusses the latest views of Citigroup on the outlook for copper. The article states: "Citigroup analysts on two continents hiked copper price forecasts Monday, asserting that "nowhere are the drivers and determinants of the commodity supercycle more clearly on display than in copper." "

At the café we focus on gold and silver and few café members or investors in general realize how lucrative copper mining is today. Copper has risen from a low of $0.6/lb in 2001 to $3.65/lb today. That is equivalent to gold trading at $1500/oz today. Imagine how profitable gold mining companies would be if gold were trading at $1500/oz! That is the opportunity that a company like SAMEX represents. As an additional bonus the geological sampling at the property and on the adjacent Codelco discovery indicates significant gold, silver and molybdenum credits are likely.

Have investors already discounted a significant discovery by SAMEX? Absolutely not! The market cap is around US$60 million. The upside is definitely all ahead.
      Cheers

Hier mal ein schöner Text von Eric Hommelberg, aus dem stockhouse:

Multi Billion Copper potential at INCA project Chile

      Shares outstanding: 78 million
      Market Cap: $55 million

      Dear member,

SAMEX was added to our TGDR TOP-20 list as of April 20, 2007. Although the stock is down 27% since then we find ourselves close to SAMEX' moment of truth whic h could launch the stock significantly higher coming months. As previously discussed SAMEX could be very well on the verge of making a major copper discovery. On July 24 SAMEX announced the start of a 10.000 meter phase I core drill program in order to verify its geological model which suggests the INCA copper project could host a 800 million â?" 1 billion tonnes with average copper grades > 0.6%. If confirmed this would translate itself into a monster copper deposit exceeding 12 billion pounds of copper.

Please make no mistake about it, it's not a matter if they'll find copper, it's just a matter of how much! The INCA copper project is has copper-oxide outcrop visible all over the place.

When SAMEX took over these properties two years ago they had to shut down four existing small-scale mine-workings. These existing mine-workings focused on production of oxide- and high-grade secondary enriched copper and high grade molybdenum ore. Although there's still plenty of oxide copper ore to be found on INCA, SAMEX main focus is exploring on the underlying primary copper-sulfide system which SAMEX believes could be the source of all existing mine-workings.

As mentioned above SAMEX's geological model suggests a mineralized target zone of 800 million to over 1 billion tonnes. An extended IP survey earlier this year was strongly supportive for this model.

I want to point out that the 800 million to a billion tonnes are conservative estimates. These numbers have been derived from calculations based on mineralized depth to 200-250 metres. The IP survey however indicated potential for mineralized zones in places to 500 meters and open ended at depth.

Furthermore it should be noted that the INCA project has the potential to yield significant gold, molybdenum and silver credits too. In times when commodities are flying high any discovery of a significant copper/gold porphyry system is rewarded well. All one has to do is to take a peek at what happened to Sirengeti Resources earlier this year. Its shares appreciated from 15 cents to a high of $4.80 in just 6 months time after their copper/gold discovery at its Kwanika project BC.

Another point of interest is that Codelco, Chilean biggest copper miner made a large copper porphyry discovery right next door to SAMEX' INCA property. Codelco's discovery was the biggest copper discovery in Chile in 2005 (350 mt and still exploring) which almost guarantees the old mining town Inca del Oro coming back to life again once Codelco takes this new copper deposit towards production stage. With the potential of infrastructure so close, SAMEX couldn't have dreamed of a better spot to make a new world class copper discovery.

Under such c ircumstances you might wonder if others (majors) are watching SAMEX progressing forward. Well, the answer is an obvious 'yes'. Unfortunately SAMEX finds itself in a position in which it can't comment on such developments but the simple truth is that SAMEX' exploration approach is highly respected. In one of SAMEX' presentations for a ma jor mining group SAMEX was being complimented as ranking in the top 5% of the junior exploration companies when it comes to quality of projects and style of exploration approach.

Unfortunately this 'professional' exploration approach takes time and that's exactly what only a very few shareholders are willing to sacrifice. SAMEX has been haunted by impatient shareholders lately indeed selling out due to lack of news. For me as an investor it doesn't really bother me since it simply means a share transfer from weak hands into strong hands. So once things really start to roll it will be hard to find enough sellers to meet the sudden surge in demand.

Now what about future share prices?

Sure enough a few things depend on the future price of copper but it's my strong believe that hig h copper prices are here to stay and to appreciate even further from here on. (See more below in section copper notes). When you consider that proven copper resources (NI 43-101 complaint) are valued at an industrial average of about 5 cents per pound copper, a 12 billion pound copper resource would value SAMEX at prices well north of $5. Again, remember that the 12 billion pound copper was a conservative estimate only so SAMEX share prices ranging in between $5 and $10 over the next two years could be considered as achievable targets!

NOTE of Caution: I explicitly say over the next two years since investors should realize that SAMEX just started its phase I core drilling program. A potential resource estimate won't come before the end of a phase II core drill program which brings us somewhere well into 2008!

Again, it's my strong believe that long-term share holders will be rewarded tremendously. I had the pleasure of visiting the INCA property myself in November last year and all I can say is I was stunned of what I saw. I strongly felt the INCA project could easily evolve itself into a world class discovery story but I also recognized that patience was required in order to define/prepare the drill targets for the phase I core drilling program. Again, please note that the SAMEX exploration approach is being considered among the top 5% of junior exploration companies by people in the know and the fact that SAMEX Vice President Exploration Rob Kell already led/participated in several major discoveries ( eg the platinum/palladium discoveries at Stillwater, Montana and the Dall cu/zn/ag massive sulphide discovery in Alaska)

Investors considering taking a position in the stock must realize however that the stock finds itself in a down-trend which hasn't been breached to the up-side yet. Normally I would suggest to wait until the down-trend to be over but as mentioned above it's my strong believe it won't take long before the awaited drill results will be hitting the news wires. You simply want to be in it whenever that day may be. The company can't give any clues about upcoming news releases but fact is that SAMEX started drilling already three months ago so it ain't unfair to assume the upcoming drill results in fairly short order. Whether it will be in one, two or three months I really don't know but the risk here is to be out of the stock and not to be in. Investors relying on technical break-outs could take a peek at the chart below:

      Technical view:
Copper notes - Codelco, BHP Billiton, CitiGroup bullish on Copper trends
Copper projects have been tremendously undervalued during the past few years. It looked like as if no-one was really interested in copper projects. Despite the huge run-up in copper prices in 2006 the average industrial valuation for copper projects didn't move up in tandem with rising copper prices and sticked to a mere 5 cents per pound proven resource only. There was a strong believe among investors that rising copper prices were not sustainable and due to collapse sooner or later but when the investment world will accept higher copper prices for here to stay then copper project valuations should increase accordingly. Now copper is on the rise again and please take a peek at the copper chart below. You'll notice that all down-trends have all been breached to the upside.

According to one of worlds 'largest copper producers the end of this run is nowhere in sight. Earlier this year Codelco, Chilean's largest copper producer said to be expecting demand for copper will continue to rise due to unimaginable growth from China.
Codelco Says Copper Demand Rises on `Unimaginable' China Growth
By Matthew Craze and Cris Valerio
Codelco Executive President Jose Pablo Arellano, who runs the world's largest copper company, said demand for the metal will continue to rise through next year because of â?~unimaginable' new construction in China. END.

SAMEX Mining Corp.: INCA Project Update, Chile-Tucumana Area

Monday May 12, 10:39 am ET

Copper, Moly & Gold Mineralization Intersected in Tucumana Breccia Pipe
Discovery of Second Breccia Pipe in Tucumana Area (Tucumana #2)
Two Additional Large Breccia Pipe Targets Identified for Future Testing

ABBOTSFORD, BRITISH COLUMBIA--(Marketwire - May 12, 2008) - SAMEX (TSX VENTURE:SXG - News; OTCBB:SMXMF - News) announces that drill holes TU-01, TU-02 and TU-03 made important intercepts through oxide copper and sulfide copper, molybdenum and gold mineralization (see geochem tables below). Drill hole D-L2-04 also intersected a zone of strong molybdenum mineralization that extends east from the Tucumana pipe. This drilling was part of the Phase I exploration program at the INCA project which included testing of the Tucumana breccia pipe, situated 750 meters east of the previously reported Magallanes pipe (news release No. 1-08).

Approximately 330 meters east of the Tucumana pipe, drill hole D-L3-01 encountered a large breccia pipe that had been highly altered and strongly leached. Although this pipe was not highly copper mineralized where drilled, the residual abundant limonitic and minor oxide-copper minerals encountered indicate that parts may have originally been well mineralized. This leaching process may have remobilized the copper mineralization and re-deposited a secondarily enriched zone nearby. This is typical at the Manto Cuba, San Pedro and Providencia mines (1,000 to 1,400 meters away) where higher-grade copper-sulfide (chalcocite) and copper-iron-sulfide (chalcopyrite) ore was historically exploited from beneath leached breccia. Follow-up drilling of the newly discovered "Tucumana 2" pipe is highly warranted to search for a similar secondary enriched zone of copper.

From alteration and mineralization patterns observed in the Phase I drilling, and from careful study of the geophysical surveys in relation to these features, two very large deeper seated IP anomalies, located approximately 700 meters east of the Tucumana pipe, have now been identified as high-priority "blind breccia" targets for future drill testing. Jeff Dahl, President of SAMEX said, "We are pleased with these exploration results and encouraged that they are advancing our discovery agenda. The detailed compilation and methodical evaluation of Phase I exploration, although time consuming, is steadily improving our understanding of the geological controls and influences that emplaced, or later affected the mineralization that we're pursuing."

This news release is the second in a series of announcements being compiled from results and detailed evaluations of the INCA Phase I drill program. Data continues to be compiled and readied for additional news releases on a target-by-target basis. Included below is a synopsis of the results from the Tucumana area of the INCA Project, followed by a technical discussion for analysts and major mining companies who are following the exploration progress at INCA. Drill location maps, cross-sections, drill histograms, geochemical and geophysical anomaly maps, and photos related to this news release can be viewed in the graphic plates and figures at www.samex.com.

Synopsis - Reconnaissance Phase I exploration core drilling in the Tucumana mine area, Inca Project, Chile made initial tests into two, sizeable, breccia pipes: Tucumana mine pipe and Tucumana #2 pipe (see Plate 1, Figure 2). Important points concerning these results are listed below and described in more detail in the body of this news release.

      (1) Drill holes TU-01, -02, and -03 (see Plate 1, Figures 3 to 8) into the Tucumana mine target intersected copper-sulfide (chalcopyrite, bornite) and molybdenite mineralization with additional gold content hosted by a breccia pipe and an "andesitic" intrusive plug. The copper-molybdenum sulfide mineralization is related to several episodes of potassic and a superposed sericite alteration. This drilling also shows a 70 to +100 meter thick cap of oxide-copper mineralization (0.22% to 0.42% Cusoluable) is preserved above the sulfide zone. A 122.95-meter drill intersection (61.0-meter estimated width) into sulfide carried 0.41% Cu, 0.407 g/mt Au, and 0.028% Mo.

      (2) Drill hole D-L3-01, in the Tucumana #2 pipe (Plate 1, Figure 2), is positioned over 100 meters elevation higher than the surface around the Tucumana mine drilling. The pipe is completely sericitized and affected by strong supergene leaching to vertical depths of 200 meters (see Plate 1, Figure 10). The thick leached cap contains residual abundant limonitic and some oxide-copper minerals suggesting several parts of the breccia might have been well sulfide-mineralized. Anomalous copper (173 to 10,700 ppm) and zinc (114 to 632 ppm) values in sampled core support this. Perhaps, in the vicinity of this pipe, the re-mobilized copper could have been transported and re-deposited to form a significant, localized, accumulation of secondary sulfide (chalcocite) with enriched copper grades. Secondarily enriched, copper-sulfide ores were exploited at the nearby Manto Cuba, San Pedro and Providencia mines. At further depth (316.0 to 341.50 m.), the hole entered a copper-sulfide mineralized interval of breccia with magnetite and biotite that carries anomalous copper (108 to 3870 ppm) and gold (0.98 to 1.120 g/mt).

      (3) The second, superimposed alteration with addition of copper-molybdenum mineralization cuts both of the breccia pipes and can be traced across the surface for 600 meters. Copper-sulfide mineralization due to this event could be distinguished in drill core from all three holes within the Tucumana mine pipe. Drill hole D-L2-04, positioned mid-way between the breccia pipes (Plate 1, Figure 2), was completed across the altered/mineralized zone where it cuts monzonite wallrock. This drill hole intersected, at a relatively high level, a potassic-altered zone 40 to 50 meters across including a 30-meter wide sericitized central core that contains a 2.4 meter thickness of interesting copper and higher grade molybdenum mineralization (0.49% Cu and 0.63% Mo) and some mixed oxide-and sulfide copper mineralization (Plate 1, Figure 9). This hole continued down into an aplite stock, which also was found to be potassically altered, contain abundant tourmaline, and weakly mineralized with disseminated copper sulfide and highly anomalous molybdenum and gold content. The outer part of the aplite carries interesting molybdenum values of 0.033% with 0.195 g/mt gold over 42.5 meters (34.0-meter estimated width).

      (4) Trending northeast from the Tucumana breccia pipe, the fault-controlled, altered/mineralized zone becomes concealed beneath as much as 5 meters of gravels covering an expansive plain. The north end of a cluster of three strong IP anomalies is also located in this part of the plain (see Plate 2, Figures 3 to 5). The character of the middle and northern IP anomalies suggests that the top of both causative sulfide-mineralized bodies are at vertical depths between 100 to 150 meters below the plateau surface. The southern-most, smaller and weaker, IP anomaly is positioned directly over the pyritiferous, copper sulfide-mineralized and strongly sericitized breccia pipe, which has been periodically exploited over the past 80 years at the Providencia mine. The middle and northern IP anomalies have now been identified as high-priority targets for future drill testing.

      (5) In reviewing concepts for Phase II exploration; A multi-hole core drilling program to further test at greater depth the Tucumana mine and Tucumana #2 breccia pipes and along the fault-controlled zone of alteration and mineralization has been proposed. Initial core drill tests to investigate the two, large, IP anomalies will be an important part of the Phase II program.

Tucumana Open-Cut Mine Area - Phase I exploration core drilling in the Tucumana mine area, Inca Project, Chile was initiated by SAMEX to principally investigate results from earlier drilling in 1991 (by Cardomin S.A.), which intersected interesting copper-oxide and -sulfide mineralization. These 1991 results were sufficiently encouraging for small miners to, soon after, begin extracting oxide-copper ores creating a steep-walled, 50 meter-long, open-cut. Perhaps, as much as 200,000 metric tons of oxide-copper ore were produced in total from various operations over the past 15 years.

Our geological mapping established, that the open cut is located at the northeast end of a porphyritic "andesite" plug and miners were advancing along an east-northeast-trending zone of strong clay and sericite alteration hosting colorful oxide-copper mineralization. The alteration cross-cuts and affects parts of a porphyritic "andesite" plug, nearby aplite stock and related dikes, and porphyritic monzonite wall rock. Some insipient brecciation was noticed to be present in the aplite and monzonite exposed in the walls of the open cut.

SAMEX drilling (three holes - TU-01, -02, and -03) further revealed that the open cut is actually positioned within, what was, an east-northeast elongated, breccia pipe (Tucumana mine breccia pipe), which was strongly mineralized with copper and molybdenum sulfide containing a significant gold credit. The pipe (Tucumana mine breccia pipe) was subsequently largely intruded out by a porphyritic "andesite" intrusion. A remaining, very large block, or intact part, of well-mineralized breccia pipe was intersected at depth by all three of the drill holes (see cross sections of individual holes).

The porphyritic "andesite" in drill core also contains scattered blocks (xenoliths) of copper-sulfide in-fill mineralized breccia and patchy intervals of disseminated copper sulfide minerals (chalcopyrite and bornite), which appear to have been assimilated from the breccia. Of importance, the Tucumana mine open cut also is located at the junction of significant east-northeast and northwest-trending faults. The northeast-trending fault zone appears to be the primary structural control to a second, superposed, strong potassic and overlapping sericite alteration event that resulted in the mobilization and re-deposition of copper and molybdenum sulfide mineralization. Likely, additional copper-molybdenum sulfide mineralization (especially molybdenum) was introduced with the second event.

The copper and molybdenum mineralized/altered zones from this superposed event are steeply northward dipping, strongly affect the "andesite" and aplite intrusive rocks and large blocks of breccia, and extend open-ended to depth at least greater than 200 m. below the pit floor (open-ended). The drilled lengths of various copper-molybdenum mineralized/altered zones range from 30 to 35 meters; with individual higher-grade branches (prongs) that are 2 to 5 meters across. Anomalous zinc values (greater than 100 to 310 ppm) are commonly associated with the copper-molybdenum-gold mineralized intervals.

In the area of the pit, considerable fracturing associated with the faulting has facilitated supergene processes and development of an oxide-copper mineralized cap, which has a remaining 70-meters vertical thickness beneath the pit floor, and appears to be over 100-meters thick at the face where the un-mined part of the zone continues toward the east-northeast. (see table below and www.samex.com/news.html for graphics and glossary of technical terms).

Additional core drilling will be needed to outline the full extent and better define grade parameters of copper-molybdenum sulfide mineralization contained at untested areas and deeper levels with the Tucumana mine breccia and "andesite" plug. Please also note that some of the oxide-copper mineralization was obviously washed out with core drilling and consideration is being given to include in Phase II program; at least several holes of shallow, reverse-circulation drilling to try to better understand what are the actual (soluble and insoluble) grades of the oxide-copper cap.
