Global Mining Brief
While interest from Western markets is uncertain, #China is making waves in the gold market, with increased buying activity. This surge is pushing premiums on the Shanghai Gold Exchange to unprecedented highs against Comex gold futures, revealing a historic disparity between gold prices in China and the USA.
This significant divergence sparks discussions about differing financial strategies and market discrepancies between the two nations.
John Reade of the World Gold Council emphasizes that this is not an isolated incident limited to the local context, “What happens in China doesn't stay in China.” China's decisions and market trends have extensive implications, with the potential to affect global gold prices and market dynamics.
The difference in gold prices poses key questions:
- Could the Shanghai Gold Exchange emerge as the predominant influencer in gold pricing, potentially becoming the global benchmark?
- If so, what would be the implications of such a shift in market leadership on international trading dynamics, economic policies, and the global valuation of gold?

Mein Reden:
The Western market has two options:
- first, abandon the false paper gold and silver and gain a new life;
- insist on the paper trading and become a real casino.
