The joint venture company aims at developing and producing Kiwa's AF-01 anti-viral preventative for avian flu. Kiwa Bio-Tech and Hebei Huaxing Pharmaceuticals Co., Ltd. (''Huaxing'') held a ceremony recognizing their cooperation on May 22, 2008.

Under the terms of the contract, Kiwa Bio-Tech owns 70% of the equity of the joint venture and Huaxing owns 30%. For more details about the contract, please refer to 8-K filed with the SEC.

Mr. Ruijun Li, General Manager of Huaxing, noted, ''The combination of our companies' marketing network, technology, manufacturing expertise is expected to support the growth of the joint venture.''

ABOUT AF-01 ANTI-VIRAL AEROSOL

In May 2006 Kiwa acquired AF-01 Anti-viral Aerosol technology for veterinary medicine applications including the exclusive production right and other related rights to produce an anti-viral aerosol drug for use with animals from Jinan Kelongboao Bio-Tech Co., Ltd. ("JKB"), which is affiliated with Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. BEIJING and CLAREMONT, Calif., Dec. 31, 2008 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- 2008 Kiwa Bio-Tech Products Group Corporation (OTCBB:KWBT) held the annual stockholder meeting and other management meetings on December 30 and 31, 2008.

All resolutions before the stockholders were approved including reelection of the Board of Directors, ratification of the appointment of Mao & Company, CPAs, Inc., as independent auditor and approval of an amendment to increase the number of authorized shares to 400,000,000 from 200,000,000. There were present in person or by proxy, stockholders of the common stock of the Company representing 75.97% of the shares issued, outstanding and entitled to vote at the meeting.

During corporate management meetings, Mr. Wei Li, CEO and Chairman, stated, "Kiwa received its first order for chemical fertilizer, a new business segment for the Company, to be delivered early in 2009. This order is for approximately RMB 20 million."

Bird Flu Preventative Development at KIWA Bio-Tech

CLAREMONT, Calif., (PRIMEZONE) -- KIWA Bio-Tech Products Group Corporation reports progress with the development, manufacturing and marketing of its anti-viral, aerosol delivery, veterinary product to prevent diseases for fowls and livestock, such as avian influenza, swine influenza, Newcastle disease, avian infectious bronchitis, swine infectious gastroenteritis, swine epidemic diarrhea, hog cholera, foot and mouth disease and duck viral hepatitis.

In February, KIWA signed an agreement for AF-01 Anti-viral Aerosol Agent with Jinan Ke Long Bo Ao Biotech Co. Ltd, Chinese Academy of Medical Sciences. This agreement included technology related to the production of the veterinary AF-01 Anti-viral Aerosol Agent, and rights to produce the new medicine. KIWA has agreed to payments in cash and stock of Renminbi ten million Yuan. AF-01 Anti-viral Aerosol Agent has very effective: able to inactivate pathogenic viruses both in vitro and in vivo. The cure rate is as high as 80 - 89%, and protection rate is 95 - 100% in animal experiments. It is also highly selective: it will not disrupt normal ecological systems. It is tasteless and does not have toxic or adverse effects. It is not a skin irritant and will not cause harm if inhaled. It will not induce resistant-virus strains. It will not accumulate in an animal's body or in the environment and will not cause environmental pollution.

The preventive effects of AF-01 Anti-viral Aerosol Agent can be enhanced when combined with vaccines. If used early in a disease outbreak the preventive effects would be expected to be high and the product could be used in homes and offices to prevent the cross-infection between human and animals.
