Gold: Der große Raub
Es gibt sie offensichtlich noch, die großen Raubzüge. So geschehen in Mexiko. Eine Raffinerie von McEwen Mining wurde dort ausgeraubt. Die Banditen erbeuteten 900 Kilogramm Goldkonzentrat, das ungefähr 7.000 Unzen Gold enthielt.
Der Wert: Rund 8,4 Millionen Dollar.
Die Aktie von McEwen Mining knickte im Handel deutlich ein.

TORONTO, ONTARIO--(Marketwired - April 8, 2015) - McEwen Mining Inc. (NYSE:MUX)(TSX:MUX) maintains 2015 production guidance at our El Gallo Mine in Sinaloa, Mexico despite yesterday's robbery.
Gold production in Q1 2015 was 15,243 ounces, which was 17% higher than guidance due to a 4% higher than expected gold grade and better recoveries.
Production in Q2 2015 is expected to be strong at 14,000 ounces of gold, despite the theft of 7,000 ounces. We appreciate the rapid response of the Sinaloa State and local police who continue to investigate with our full cooperation. We are also working with our insurance carrier and expect to recover the majority of the losses

. . . . wenn der größte Teil des Verlustes von der Versicherung abgedeckt ist. Zumindest soll es ja bei den gleichen Förderzielen bleiben, das ist doch schon mal was, oder ?

McEwen Mining (NYSE:MUX) +5% premarket after maintaining its 2015 production guidance at the El Gallo Mine in Sinaloa, Mexico, despite Tuesday's robbery.
MUX says Q1 gold production totaled ~15.2K oz., which was 17% higher than guidance due to a higher than expected gold grade and better recoveries, and expects Q2 gold production of 14K oz. despite the theft.
MUX also says it is working with its insurance carrier and expects to recover the majority of the losses.

When McEwen Mining (MUX) has its El Gallo I mine in Mexico held up by thieves and valuable precious metals stolen, it immediately discloses the unfortunate incident to the market.
So apart from the way that one company has measurably more respect for its shareholders, nothing much to report here.

. . . . für uns Aktionäre und buddeln nach dem Gold. Und wenn sie es dann haben dann lassen sie es sich auch noch wegnehmen. Das war bestimmt noch einer von den alten Cortez - Brüdern die sich diesen Goldanteil geschnappt haben. Hätte Rob nur Wache aufgestellt dann wäre das nicht passiert.
McEwen Mining gold refinery in Mexico hit by $8.5-million armed robbery

TORONTO - McEwen Mining Inc. (TSX:MUX.TO - News) is reeling from an armed robbery at its El Gallo operation in Mexico, where the thieves made off with about US$8.5-million worth of concentrate containing about 7,000 ounces of the precious metal.
McEwen said its insurance policies will not be enough to cover the losses.
Its shares were down about 6.7 per cent in early trading Wednesday.
McEwen said no one was injured and mining operations were not affected, but did not provide any more details about the robbery which it said is under investigation by Mexican authorities
McEwen said the theft occurred Tuesday at the El Gallo 1 mine and involved 900 kilograms of gold-bearing concentrate, which requires further processing until it becomes gold metal.
Besides Mexico, McEwen also has operations in Nevada and Argentina.
