      Und noch eine

September 24, 2020 - Vancouver, BC - Taseko Mines Limited (TSX: TKO; NYSE American: TGB; LSE: TKO) (“Taseko” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce that its Gibraltar Mine has been awarded the prestigious Jake McDonald Annual Award for Metal Mine Reclamation from the British Columbia Technical and Research Committee on Reclamation (“TRCR”).

TRCR’s annual BC Mine Reclamation Awards, which recognizes outstanding achievement in mine reclamation in British Columbia, was held on September 23rd, 2020.

Russell Hallbauer, CEO and Director of Taseko, commented, “What a great honour for our employees. Gibraltar has been operating for nearly 50 years, generating opportunity for people and economic benefit for communities in the Cariboo. The efforts of our Gibraltar employees continue to be rewarded by achievements like this high profile award. It is gratifying to see their talent and ingenuity being recognized at the highest levels. Gibraltar is proof of mining sustainability in action.”

“We would specifically like to acknowledge the local Xatśūll First Nations and the North Shuswap Tribal Council Fisheries Department for their partnership and traditional knowledge in the annual Fraser River Salmon Sampling Program. As well as a thank you to the Xatśūll First Nations reclamation crew, whose participation has contributed to the success of Gibraltar’s reclamation program.”

Stuart McDonald, President of Taseko added, “The Jake McDonald Award is the top mine reclamation award in British Columbia, a province that has a large mining industry. This achievement reflects the hard work of many talented people and we are honoured to have been chosen as this year’s recipient. The award adds to our track record of achievement which includes other recognition awards for employee safety and community service.”

Xatśūll First Nations Chief Sheri Sellars commented, “I am proud of the work Xatśūll First Nation community members have done in partnership with Taseko-Gibraltar. The fish-sampling program and the reclamation work have been award-winning successes. Our members have also benefitted from employment opportunities and educational initiatives which stem from our relationship with Gibraltar.”

      Gibraltar’s Reclamation Research Programs

The aim of Gibraltar’s reclamation research program is continual improvement by identifying and introducing leading-edge ideas within the field of environmental science in mine reclamation. With this goal in mind, projects at Gibraltar include:

sampling of salmon from the Fraser River in partnerships with the Xatśūll First Nations and the North Shuswap Tribal Council to provide information to local Indigenous communities regarding the safety of consuming salmon captured at traditional fishing sites
      studying and utilizing innovative technologies to determine how reclamation activities promote the development and recovery of biological communities;
supporting BCIT, SFU, and Mitacs master’s students in a trial research program to expedite the development of soil microbial crust, specifically at the tailings storage facility.

September 22, 2020, Vancouver, BC – Taseko Mines Limited (TSX: TKO; NYSE American: TGB; LSE: TKO) (“Taseko” or the “Company”) is pleased to announce that its Florence Copper Project received overwhelming support at the public hearing held by the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (“ADEQ”). The public hearing, which is a key part of the process for the Aquifer Protection Permit (“APP”), had participation from local community members, local business owners, elected state officials and city councilors, a state senator as well as representatives from the technical services sector.

Russell Hallbauer, Chief Executive Officer and Director of Taseko, commented, “More than 30 interested parties spoke at the hearing, communicating great support for the Company and the project, with only one individual not in favour. The ADEQ heard loud and clear that the community wants this project to advance to commercial operation.”

“The Company has worked very hard to inform the Florence community on not only the safeguards in place to ensure the environmental integrity of the project, but also the environmental benefits of the Florence Copper extraction process. The extensive data collected from 18 months of operating the test facility is proof that the process works, both from a technical perspective as well as environmentally,” continued Mr. Hallbauer.

The ADEQ will take written correspondence for another three weeks, until October 12, before writing and issuing the final permit.

The Company recently produced a promotional video about the Florence Copper Project which highlights the benefits of the project and describes the in-situ copper recovery process. The video can be accessed at http://bit.ly/TasekoTalks_AProvenSuccess.

Antwort auf Beitrag Nr.: 65.071.759 von EnemyArea am 14.09.20 12:08:42Two permits are required to commence construction of the commercial scale wellfield at Florence Copper, which is expected to produce 85 million pounds of copper cathode annually for 20 years. These are the Aquifer Protection Permit (“APP”) from the Arizona Department of Environmental Quality (“ADEQ”) and the Underground Injection Control (“UIC”) Permit from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency (“EPA”). The Company has been informed by the ADEQ that it will issue the draft APP on August 6, 2020. After the draft permit is issued there will be a 30-day public comment period and public meetings before the final APP permit is approved. The EPA is also nearing completion of its technical review for the UIC permit, and no significant issues have been identified. While progress is being made, the COVID-19 situation in Arizona has had an impact on the EPA process and this has extended the timeline by a few months, but management still expects the project will be fully permitted in early 2021.

Taseko Announces Improved Economics and New 820 Million Tonne Reserve Estimate at its Yellowhead Copper Project in British Columbia
      January 16, 2020
“While our primary and near-term focus will remain on the advancement of our Florence Copper Project through to production, we will continue to progress Yellowhead expeditiously as the timing will fit in ideally after Florence Copper achieves commercial production. With the new Technical Report now complete, our efforts will focus on environmental assessment work, ongoing engagement with local communities, additional engineering as well as evaluating the merits of selling an interest in the project to a joint venture partner. Our plan is to add 85 million pounds of annual copper production from Florence Copper by 2022 and then another 200 million pounds from Yellowhead by 2025. A 280% production growth profile over six years to nearly 390 million pounds annually cannot be matched by any company in our sector and could be well timed with a growing copper supply deficit,” concluded Mr. Hallbauer.
