SABA CEO Speaks at United Nations; Bobby Yazdani Speech to UN
Economic and Social Council Addresses Creation of Competitive, Sustainable Advantages Through Internet-Based Learning

      Business Editors/High-Tech Writers

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 6, 2000--Speaking to the top line and bottom line global imperatives for Internet-based learning, Saba (Nasdaq:SABA) President and CEO Bobby Yazdani today addressed an international audience at the United Nations Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) meeting on Information Technology for the World.

At the meeting held at UN headquarters in New York, and attended by government ministers and UN representatives from 186 nations, as well as speakers from leading international trade and financial institutions, Mr. Yazdani examined the correlation between learning and leadership. Other speakers scheduled during the three-day event included representatives from the World Bank, Nokia, Compaq Computers, and Dell Computer Systems.

The founder of Saba, the company that connects people to learning, Mr. Yazdani explained that Internet-based learning creates competitive, sustainable advantages for individuals, companies, communities, and nations.

"You, as leaders, in your personal and professional lives have the responsibility -- and now the means -- to offer learning to all your constituents," Mr. Yazdani said. "To your employers, and your employees; to those who are being asked to change the way they work half-way through their careers; and to those young people facing a future where change is constant and on-going learning is the key to success."

"On-going learning increases speed to market and time to competency. It protects and promulgates cultures. It attracts and retains talent. And it is the only way to ensure that the competitive, sustainable advantages you create are also retained," he added. "The goal is to make every individual as good as the best, so the skills, competencies, and knowledge of individuals coalesce into increasingly skilled, competent, and knowledgeable companies, communities, and nations."

Conceived as a "high level policy dialogue with the heads of international financial and trade institutions," the ECOSOC meeting concentrated on development and international cooperation with respect to information technology`s role in a knowledge-based global economy. Mr. Yazdani`s speech Thursday was to be followed by his attendance at a ministerial roundtable breakfast meeting on Friday.

Red Hat to offer Saba Learning to Meet Global Training Needs
      REDWOOD SHORES, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--July 24, 2000--

Open Source leader to meet global training challenge by implementing Saba`s learning management system for training automation and Internet-based learning infrastructure

(Nasdaq:RHAT), the leading provider of open source solutions for Internet infrastructure, has licensed Saba Learning for its global education services. Red Hat will use Saba Learning, whose open architecture and scalability will help Red Hat deliver enhanced training services and e-Learning through redhat.com.

"Our relationship with Saba completes the infrastructure to deliver our world class training and certification anywhere in the world, with expanded customer values," said Peter Childers, General Manager of training and certification programs at Red Hat. "Red Hat responds to our customers, and our customers have asked us for follow-on relationships, learning management, and e-learning options for Red Hat`s leading training and certification programs. We will continue to roll out high quality classroom training and Internet-based learning on a scale that meets the needs and requirements of our customers."

"Red Hat`s training and certification programs are coveted by Internet users around the world," said Bobby Yazdani, Saba president and CEO. "We, at Saba, are proud to be partnering with Red Hat to help deliver the worldwide training functions on the scale and speed its customers need."

Beginning in the fall, all students taking Red Hat courses anywhere in the world will be able to establish a learner profile on Red Hat`s Saba Learning system. They will be able to identify knowledge gaps and obtain the appropriate learning to close those gaps. All their courses, new certifications, and progress will be tracked on Saba. Red Hat will use the Saba system to supply pre- and post-assessments, as well as to plan and deploy future course offerings.

With the addition of the e-Learning component already announced by Red Hat for fall, Red Hat adds even more value to its already strong classroom training and certification for RHCEs, and other Red Hat training offerings on open source programming languages, Internet technologies, and tools.

REDWOOD SHORES, Calif., Sept. 21 /PRNewswire/ -- Saba (Nasdaq: SABA), the leading global provider of learning and performance infrastructure solutions, today announced a partnership with Huthwaite International, developers of the world`s leading sales skills training product, SPIN(R) Selling Skills. Working with Saba, Huthwaite is augmenting its successful 30-year-old skills training model with SPIN(R)-Online, an integrated new training platform that combines the Internet and CD-ROM with face-to-face instructor-led training.

"With its strong roster of global customers such as Oracle, IBM and GlaxoWellcome, Huthwaite will add thousands of sales representatives to the millions of people worldwide using Saba`s eLearning infrastructure to build critical skills necessary in the New Economy," said Bobby Yazdani, Saba founder and chief executive officer. "Working with Huthwaite to create an online version of its sales and training model highlights the sophistication of our technology and the best practices that are deeply embedded in our learning and performance solutions."

Huthwaite is using Saba Learning Enterprise(TM) to migrate its successful skills training model online, helping companies meet the critical need of shortening training times without sacrificing content quality. SPIN(R)-Online is being used by Huthwaite`s customers around the world to train and support salespeople across various industries, including IT, telecom and pharmaceuticals.

Saba`s Internet-enabled model allows the salesperson to conduct self-assessments of their progress, identify weak areas, access reinforcement material and seek both formal and informal advice from colleagues and Huthwaite`s expert trainers via discussion forums and chat rooms.

"Interactivity is essential to a very human skill such as selling, and Saba has provided us with the infrastructure necessary to deliver our skills training and development effectively across multiple platforms," said Rob Taylor, TES Solutions Manager of Huthwaite International. "Our partnership with Saba enables us to combine traditional training methods with advanced new technology tools and techniques that benefit both the trainer and trainee. We selected Saba for their expertise in the eLearning industry and their established track record of rapid implementation of highly advanced, comprehensive technology platforms for their clients." The company was awarded a Queen`s Award for Export Achievement in 1999.

SPIN(R)-Online is a new product which exploits the opportunities presented by the Internet and CD-ROM technology to provide an alternative mechanism for delivering Huthwaite`s world-recognized SPIN(R) Selling skills program. SPIN(R)-Online combines these technologies with face-to-face instructor-led training to provide an innovative framework for learning. It not only meets the traditional needs of sales people seeking a recognized, effective and measurable sales model, but also solves a number of further requirements:

-- Where time off the job is a significant limiting factor, the
instructor-led component of SPIN(R)-Online can be reduced from the
      traditional 3-4 days.
-- Where there is a need to train large numbers of people in a short time
-- Where the client wishes to use internal trainers, they have the support
of the knowledge content being provided
-- Where traditional coaching is impractical -- e.g. disparate locations
-- net-based training can be effective
-- Where some degree of training content is required by back office or
sales support staff, rather than the front line sales team.

      Hallo, Habibi1 !!

      Hallo, zusammen !!
