Damit: Viel Erfolg uns allen

State of Montana Releases Official Report on U.S. Wireless Corporation E-911
Caller Location System Independent Analysis by the State Confirms That U.S.
Wireless Location Network Exceeds FCC E-911 Requirements in Both Urban and Rural
Areas
SAN RAMON, Calif., Jun 12, 2000 /PRNewswire via COMTEX/ -- U.S. Wireless Corp.
(Nasdaq: USWC; Frankfurt: USP) today announced the State of Montana has released
the final report of the Montana Wireless E-911 Trial -- the first field trial of
a fully functional end-to-end emergency E-911 wireless location system with
continuous tracking capability. The State of Montana Department of
Administration`s independent analysis of the trial results confirms that U.S.
Wireless RadioCamera(TM) technology was able to accurately locate wireless 9-1-1
callers in both urban and rural environments, exceeding Phase II requirements of
the FCC`s E-911 mandate.
Participants in the trial included the State of Montana, the local Billings
9-1-1 center and six leading telecommunications organizations. The official
report on the results of the trial cited the RadioCamera system`s ability to
track continual movement of a wireless caller`s location, surpassing the FCC
requirement of 100-meter accuracy for 67% of location fixes. The U.S. Wireless
network obtained a final accuracy of 85.7 meters for the overall test
environment, and demonstrated precision in some environments of 53 meters in 67%
of the cases.
The Montana Department of Administration report cited the utility of the
RadioCamera system in enhancing public safety, as it " ... clearly demonstrated
the ability to locate wireless 9-1-1 callers within the FCC requirement ... ,"
which could improve E-911 emergency response time to critical situations.
"Through a progressive attitude toward emerging technologies and public safety
needs, the State of Montana has shown tremendous dedication to improving the
public`s security and quality of life," said Dr. Oliver Hilsenrath, chairman and
chief executive officer of U.S. Wireless. "We believe that our location
technology will save lives as well as property, speeding emergency response to
critical situations ranging from kidnappings to medical emergencies. It was very
gratifying to work closely with such a visionary group, and we will continue to
work with public safety agencies nationwide to implement this life-saving
technology."
Surry Latham, 9-1-1 Program Manager for the State of Montana, said, "The State
of Montana took a leadership role in conducting this trial in the hope that new
technologies such as U.S. Wireless` could advance rural as well as urban public
safety.
"We selected to test the U.S. Wireless network because of its unique ability to
provide location with a single site. Given the terrain of Montana, we were
concerned that other location technologies requiring three or more cell sites
would not work well in the rural areas. During our testing, U.S. Wireless`
RadioCamera system consistently provided accurate location data that will assist
9-1-1 callers in both urban and rural areas. We are extremely pleased with the
results and intend to share our findings with our colleagues in the public
safety community."
The RadioCamera system employs a location technology known as Location Pattern
Matching. This technology overcomes challenges associated with locating wireless
callers in urban environments, where line of sight between the wireless
subscriber and multiple cell sites or satellites may be obstructed, and in rural
environments, where a sufficient number of cell sites may not be optimally
located to perform triangulation. From a single point of reference or cell site,
RadioCamera(TM) technology is able to form a direct correlation between radio
frequency patterns and a caller`s geographic location, accurately locating
wireless subscribers in challenging urban and rural environments where other
location technologies fail.
The State of Montana plans to distribute the final report to leading 9-1-1
organizations nationwide. An electronic copy of the report will be made
available through the state of Montana`s website at
www.state.mt.us/isd/groups/9-1-1/index.html and through U.S. Wireless` website
at www.uswcorp.com.

U.S. Wireless Corporation Reports Fiscal 2000 Results
SAN RAMON, Calif., June 29 /PRNewswire/ -- U.S. Wireless Corporation (Nasdaq: USWC; Frankfurt: USP), a provider
of location-based information and services, today reported financial results for the fiscal year ended March 31, 2000.
Net losses for the year ended March 31, 2000 were $7.8 million or $0.62 per share, compared to $7.2 million or $0.83 per
share, for the same period in 1999. Weighted average common shares outstanding for the year ended March 31, 2000 were
12,445,253 compared to 8,762,442 for the prior year. The increase in common shares outstanding included the conversion of
portions of the Series A Preferred stock and Series B Preferred stock by the Company.
``This has been an exceptional year for U.S. Wireless,`` said Dr. Oliver Hilsenrath, Chairman & CEO. ``In fiscal 2000, we
continued to establish our credibility, successfully expanding trial activities with leading wireless carriers. We commenced
the build-out of the first leg of our nationwide deployment in Washington, DC, and won two state intelligent transportation
systems contracts, which provided us with our first revenues.
``As the impending deadline for E-911 caller location approaches, we will continue to build out markets, and focus on
strengthening relationships with wireless carriers who not only wish to meet the FCC mandate, but who also recognize the
value of location information in enhancing their mobile customer offerings.``
Consolidated operating revenues were $249,178 for the year ended March 31, 2000, compared to $40,000 for the prior
year. The increase in operating revenue is mainly attributable to a contract the Company received from Maryland`s
Department of Transportation to provide location enhanced traffic information along the Maryland Beltway. The Company
also received a contract from the Virginia Department of Transportation, which did not contribute revenues during fiscal
2000.
Net cash used for operating activities for the year ended March 31, 2000 were $5.0 million compared to $3.9 million for
1999. Increased costs were primarily attributable to commencement of an Operational Readiness Trial in the
Maryland/Washington DC/Virginia Metro area, where the Company built additional sites to expand coverage and where it
has established an east coast corporate office in Reston, Virginia. Additional expenses were also incurred for engineering
and research and development related to the continued refinement, testing and deployment of the RadioCamera(TM) system,
as well as for stock based compensation.
As of March 31, 2000, the Company had working capital of $4.8 million and cash and cash equivalents of $5.3 million.
Subsequently, in June 2000, the Company raised approximately $22.5 million in a private placement of Series C Preferred
Shares with American Tower Corporation.
Through the deployment of a national location services platform, U.S. Wireless will help wireless carriers meet the Federal
Communication Commission`s requirements for E-911 caller location as well as power next generation Internet and mobility
content services. The Company plans to build and operate a nationwide location service bureau, based on its proprietary
RadioCamera(TM) system, in 100 major markets across the United States, beginning with the Washington, D.C./Baltimore
metro area. For more information about U.S. Wireless and its RadioCamera(TM) network, please visit the Web site at

Hi harman!

Hi Dauphin!

Search and Rescue
Each day, 911 operators field more than 100,000 emergency calls from mobile-phone users nationwide. But the operators have no way of pinpointing the phone`s location-a simple task with wireline phones-and the caller may be in unfamiliar territory, unable to provide precise directions. As a result, emergency help may arrive too late. The Federal Communications Commission has mandated that by October 2001, wireless carriers must be able to locate a call within 125 meters. That ruling, which has been dubbed Enhanced 911 (E911), has carriers from Bell Atlantic Mobile to Sprint PCS scrambling to find a low-cost way of tracking customers. Now U.S. WIRELESS (Nasdaq;USWC), of San Ramon, California, thinks it has a solution.
When a cellular signal bounces off tall buildings and other obstructions, it splits into multiple paths, producing a signature pattern uniqui to that location. U.S Wirelss`s technology, called RadioCamera, analyzes the pattern and compares it with others it keeps on file. Upon finding a close match in its database, RadioCamera can infer the caller`s location. Unlike global-positioning satellite systems and other triangulation methods, which require the caller to be within line of sight of a satellite or a cell phone tower, thus limiting their utility in urban canyons, RadioCamera gets high marks in cities, where more than 70% of mobile-phone users live. "The bane of other solutions is the basis of theirs," says Patrick Houghton of Sutro & Co., one of two analysts who follow the company. U.S. Wireless will shortly roll out its location system in Baltimore where it will undergo its first major market test.
Houghton thinks U.S. Wireless could eventually control 30% of the E911 market, generating annual revenue of $150 million by 2002, and he predicts it will also find other uses for the technology-for instance, it could provide traffic information or even directory assistance, enabling a motorist to find, say, the nearest pizza parlor on the way home.
U.S. Wireless has yet to sign any major contracts, but that could happen soon; wireless carriers must submit E911 service plans to the FCC by October. Houghton predicts that if the company sighs up some key customers, shares, recently trading for $14.75, could get a big lift.

NEW`S
ANAHEIM, Calif., Jul 13, 2000 (BUSINESS WIRE) --
Iteris Team Includes QUALCOMM, Cox Interactive Media, Navigation
Technologies, SmartRoute Systems and U.S. Wireless
Iteris Inc., a leading supplier of traveler information systems, has been
selected by the San Diego Association of Governments (SANDAG) as the prime
contractor for the San Diego Regional Advanced Traveler Information System
(ATIS) and Corridor-wide Commercial Vehicle Operations (CVO) Project.
Terms and conditions of the final contract are yet to be disclosed.
The SANDAG project includes the design and deployment of an advanced
personalized traveler information system that will cover the San Diego County
area of Southern California. The goal of the project is to develop a system that
will ultimately become the primary source of data for media outlets to use when
providing the traveling public with information.
An important advance from previous efforts, the data will be tailored to the
individual traveler`s needs and pushed to the traveler based upon their
location.
"The multi-industry team that we have put together to deploy the San Diego
Regional ATIS project represents the type of collaborative partnership required
to successfully develop a comprehensive telematics system," said Jack Johnson,
president and chief executive officer of Iteris.
"The plan that we have proposed to SANDAG offers great benefit to both the
partners involved in the contract and the millions of individuals traveling
throughout the San Diego County area.
"This project is an important aspect of Iteris`s nationwide roll out of
personalized traveler information systems and further vindicates the major
investment we are making in Personalized Traveler Information (PTI). It also
validates our leadership in this market segment based on our proprietary
software developed in conjunction with many foundation projects."
"Iteris was selected because of its impressive business plan that would enable
ATIS to be fully privatized and their expertise as an integration company.
"On this project Iteris is functioning as a catalyst, creating a dynamic synergy
among the advertisers, data collectors and travel information providers
participating in this effort to deploy an effective telematics program with
significant potential for expansion beyond the San Diego region," said John
Duve, senior management for the San Diego Association of Governments.
In contrast to other advanced traveler information systems, the San Diego ATIS
will provide motorists with the accurate information they need to compare routes
and determine how long it will take to reach their destinations.
By providing accurate, real time information the San Diego ATIS will enhance the
traffic information currently available via the Internet or other media and
enable travelers to choose the quickest route to their destination before or
during their trip.
Among the companies included in the Iteris telematics team are U.S. Wireless
(Nasdaq:USWC)(Frankfurt:USP), Cox Interactive Media, SmartRoute Systems,
Navigation Technologies and QUALCOMM Inc. (Nasdaq:QCOM). To begin the project,
SANDAG would provide the Iteris team with $3.75 million in seed money.
Iteris`s proposal for the San Diego ATIS encompasses data collection, data
fusion and data dissemination.
"Our program utilizes various channels to collect information including existing
public agency data assets, data collected by U.S. Wireless through the
deployment of their RadioCamera(TM) and a whole host of other data collection
sources," said Abbas Mohaddes, senior vice president of Iteris.
"Iteris will use its proprietary Data Fusion Engine as an integral part of the
overall telematics system. The software engine aggregates information about
traffic and road conditions collected from multiple sources into a format
suitable for distribution.
"Dissemination of the resulting information to travelers throughout the Southern
California market will be accomplished through Iteris`s communication partner
network," said Mohaddes.
About Telematics
Telematics refers to the rapidly emerging market for in-vehicle information
services that combine broadband, wireless communications and location-sensing
technology to enable location-based, two-way voice and data communication
between motorists and the world around them.
According to a report by analyst Jonathan Lawrence of Dain Rauscher Wessels, the
market size of telematics in the United States alone is expected to reach $13
billion by the year 2005.
The most prominent examples of telematics services available today include
Emergency Roadside Assistance (ERA), airbag deployment notification,
turn-by-turn navigation assistance and stolen vehicle tracking.
Other customized or personalized services that are under development include
real-time travel information, real-time routing assistance, in-vehicle e-mail
delivery and on demand, customized business and entertainment information
delivery.
About Iteris
An established provider of intelligent transportation systems, Iteris is
currently initiating a nationwide personalized traveler information system. The
company has already begun developing one of the nation`s first wireless
geolocation-based Advanced Traveler Information Systems in the Hampton Roads
area of Virginia.
Iteris, a subsidiary of Odetics, Inc. (Nasdaq:ODETA) & (Nasdaq:ODETB), provides
critical information to motorists. Iteris has combined software information
technology, system integration and applied sensors to offer a broad range of
transportation solutions to transportation managers and mobile information
