Der Chart sieht genau so traurig aus wie viele andere. Außerdem sehr markteng bei uns.
Stell Dir mal vor Du hättest jetzt schon welche im Depot und die Leute kaufen auf diese Empfehlung hin, dann steigt der Kurs ja ordentlich und Du würdest ganz schön daran verdienen Du alter Börsenfuchs.

General Magic ist historisch gesehen tief bewertet.

Wenn Du wieder Kurs um 5 Euro erwartest, hast Du richtig gehandelt.

Wenn der Internet-Hype nun aber wirklich vorbei ist, kann auch eine General Magic nochmal unter 2 Euro fallen.

Ich würde auf jeden Fall nicht mit 100% reingehen.

Diese bescheuerten Amis jetzt steht unsere General MAGIC bid/ask technisch in FFM 1,30 zu 1,50 bin dieses Jahr drei mal rein zu 5,55 ; 3,75 ; 2,65 habe insgesamt 7500 Stk.
Ich glaub ich mach Winterschlaf und guck im März nochmal ob es wieder aufwärtsgeht. Leider hab ich kein geld mehr um nochmal bei 1€ einzusteigen.

SUNNYVALE (CBS.MW) - General Magic revised downward its
revenue forecasts for the year ending December 31, 2000.

The voice application service provider said it expects to report revenue of
about $11 million for the fiscal year 2000, about $1 million, or 8 percent,
below previous estimates.

"While our results for the fiscal 2000 year fell short of our expectations,
we will have achieved in excess of a 500 percent increase over the 1999
fiscal year," said president and CEO Steve Markman in a statement.

Funding delays for two of its customers accounted for the revenue
shortfall. As a result of the delays, revenue from those sources is no longer
expected in the current quarter, the company said in a statement.

"We are optimistic that we will continue to win new business
opportunities," said Markman. The company is reviewing its 2001 growth
targets and expects to give forecast information early next year, it said.

Ist es richitg dass das Ergebnis in 2000 500% über dem Ergebnis von 1999 liegt ?

500% von einer kleinen Basis ist nicht unbedingt so stark.

Heute zieht der Kurs aber schon wieder an.

Die Aktie ist auf dem derzeitigen Kursniveau extrem volatil.

Tagesschwankungen von 1,45 bis 1,80 Euro in den letzten Tagen.

Der Umsatz in den USA ist nicht gering (1,4 Mio. Stück heute).

Was ist da los ?

Mußten Leute verkaufen ?

Oder ist dies eine (Fehl)interpretation ?

Ich habe mir Deine Info - Seite angsehen, verstehe aber nicht ganz den Sinn bzw. die Aussage.

Meine Interpretation ist, daß man (GMGC) einfach nochmal darlegen möchte das wegen einer Verschiebung von Aufträgen
die Planzahlen von 2000 nicht erreicht wurden, aber das 2000 im Vergleich zu 1999 ein gutes Jahr war/wird.

Habe mit GMGC schönes geld verdient,rein mit 3,52 verkauft mit 8,12 EUR, aber den Kurs so puschen zu wollen das kann ins AUGE gehen ZELTSTUERMER. Ich selber steige erst nach den Feiertagen ein, ach so 5000St zu 1,9 wann sol das gewesen sein ich sehe das nicht in einer D-Börse oder waren es mehrer kleine kaufsorder.

Ich bin mir nicht so sicher, ob wir die 8,52 Euro so schnell wieder sehen werden.

Bin kein Profi bei dieser Aktie.

Schätze mal das die Produkte der Firma ganz o.k. sind, aber meines Erachtens scheint die Firma fundamental (finanzen, Umsatz, Gewinn) nicht ganz so stark zu sein, denn warum sind die Aktien nicht vor 3 Euro in deutlich ruhigere Hände gewandert ?

Anfang Januar startet die Detroit Motorshow -> viele Journalisten beschäftigen sich mit allem rund ums Auto -> GM hat mit dem ONStar System (inkl. General Magic Technik) etwas ganz feines auf dem Stand -> Kurs könnte steigen

so 20-30% sind da locker drin!

ich hab`s bei GMGC schon lange aufgegeben den Kurs zu verstehen;
er ist soeben - "schluck" - bei plus 25% mit wenig Volumen (426.000 Stück) in den USA;
mir ist nur schon länger aufgefallen, daß hier in Germany einige immer etwas mehr zu wissen scheinen, denn wenn der Kurs hier (vor Börsenbeginn drüben) angesprungen ist - scheinbar ohne Grund - immer "etwas" in den USA nachkam, PR etc; event. einige "Insider" hier in Deutschland, ansonsten wird mit der Aktie herumgezockt, was das Zeug hält, wenn man sich davon davon dauernd nervös machen läßt . . . ignorieren oder raus aus der Aktie . . . doch wo rein? im Moment ist ja fast überall ein Gezocke, ein Mitnehmen, wo man kann und was das Zeug hält . . . wer die Nerven hat dazu,(ich nicht)

Nice price increase but suspiciously low volume. The month of the (expected) announcement of actual start of VA service
plus the Detroit Car Show should present at least a short-term opportunity and that is my strategy. Long term GMGC
needs to show something beyond Onstar. IBM-GMGC first results are now overdue, and IBM goes into the Intuit, Bellsouth,
Juno folder if nothing happens within say about six weeks.

GM der zwischenzeitlich im Bereich Sprachsoftware avancierte Marktführer legt gute Zahlen im letzten Quartal vor und sieht entgegen den negativen Prognosen der High Tech Branche ("Intershop.....) wachsende Umsatzzahlen auch für das Jahr 2001.
Die Kooperationen mit IBM, Nokia, Ericcson, HP sprechen für sich.
Qualität zahlt sich aus.
Eine stark unterbewertete General Magic-Aktie könnte für 2001 ein absoluter Highflyer werden, auch wenn diese Prognose zum gegenwärtigen Zeitpunkt als recht gewagt erscheint. Lest auch einfach die Analysen im Maininvestor
durch und bewertet selbst.
Ich bin investiert und bleibe investiert. Wer bei Tagestiefs einkaufen kann sollte dies tun. Habe zu den Dumpingkursen unter 1,6 Euro nochmals zugekauft.
Wer GM kennt, weiß das bei guten Börsentagen -und die werden wir auch in diesem Jahr (bereits i. d. Frühjahr wie ich meine) wieder sehen, 1 - 2 Euro zulegen kann.Über das Jahr hinweg halte ich jedoch Kurssteigerungen über 10 - 15 Euro für möglich und fundamental nachvollziehbar.

Kauft GM jetzt, denn die Zukunft in der Telekommunikationsbranche hat erst angefangen. Die Auto- und Motorschow in Detroit wird GM zusätzlichen Aufwind geben.
Über die negativen Nachrichten der Internetbranche kann GM locker hinwegsehen, da die Weichen bereits frühzeitig gestellt und die profitablen Zweige erkannt wurden.

Aber 20$ sind wohl auch etwas hoch gegriffen. Solche Zahlen stammen wohl noch aus der Übertreibungsphase, in der alles um 200% steigen sollte...
Aber es wird auf jeden Fall wieder nach oben gehen.

Für unsere Pessimisten,

auch ich habe nie behauptet, daß General Magic heute oder morgen die Kursprognose von 20 US$ erreichen wird.
Doch es spricht nichts dagegen einer fundierten Recherche des Analystenhauses "Dean Rauscher Wessels" zuzustimmen. Insbesondere, wenn positives aus dem Unternehmen für das Jahr 2001 verlautet.
Ich halte die Firma für gut positioniert. Ein Dementi der überproportional zu erwartenden Kurssteigerungen lies übrigens auch D. R. Wessels bis dato noch nicht verlauten.
Die Einführung des ONStar wird auch den General Magic - Kurs beflügeln. Dies steht wohl außer Frage.
Somit dürften auch die größten Gegner der GM-Aktie einsehen, daß wir den Tiefpunkt, d. h. Kurse unter 2 Euro längst gesehen haben und wohl nicht mehr erreichen werden.

Wer aus Panik an schlechten Tagen seine Perlen abstößt, sollte sein Glück in der Spielbank.... versuchen.

Investors Business daily looked at every instance when the Fed. cut the discount rate for the first time after a round of
increases.

There were 8 times before Wed. And every case but 2, the market had already come off a bottom and was rallying. A bull
market continued for months or even a few years.

One exception was June 10, 1960. The Fed trimmed from 4% to 3.65%. The S&P 500 dropped another 9.95% through Oct.25 before a powerful rally began. By then the Fed cut 3 more times to 3%.

The other exception was Nov.2, 1981, when the Fed cut the discount from 14% to 13%. The Fed had waged war on inflation and jacked interest rates up to record levels. The country was in recession and in the middle of a bear market.

This is from this mornings IBD. Front page of part 2. The point is this market ain`t 1981.
The Fed most likely cut rates early so they could cut another 1/4 point when they meet end of Jan. The market will rally no doubt.
GMGC will follow the market cause thats what it does.

I do appreciate all the doom and gloom though. Its more evidence the end of the bear is near or maybe the hibernation has already begun.

General Motors to "push" ads to drivers

DETROIT--Imagine this: As your fuel gauge nears empty and you begin searching for a gas station, a computerized voice takes over your car`s stereo speakers and says, "The BP station at the corner of Second Avenue and Main Street has gasoline that is $1.43 per gallon, 8 cents cheaper than any other station within 5 miles."

Sound fantastic? Executives at General Motors say they are preparing to debut exactly that kind of service as soon as this year.


GM`s OnStar division will begin experimenting this year with location-based advertising beamed to vehicles through a cellular network, OnStar president Chet Huber said Monday during an interview with CNET News.com at the North American International Auto Show.

The service will be part of OnStar`s "Virtual Adviser"--an automated, cellular-based concierge service that will be offered as an option on most GM vehicles starting in late January.

In addition to cheap gas alerts, drivers who indicate they want so-called push advertising could also become the target of other sales and marketing pitches. For example, Huber said, a golf store might send information about a sale to a golf aficionado whenever his car is within a 2-mile radius of the store. As the driver approaches the store, a computerized voice could override music on the stereo and say, "All golf bags are 50 percent off."

To receive the location-based, automated data, OnStar subscribers will first have to fill out a confidential questionnaire detailing exactly what kind of advertisements they want to receive. Subscribers may also enter their credit card information into an OnStar database so that they can purchase items directly from their vehicle and later stop at the store to pick up merchandise.

Huber emphasized that OnStar would not become a spam-happy advertising medium to target people while they`re driving. Certain customers, for example, could indicate they only wish to receive updates on sales at Nordstrom, and in that case they wouldn`t receive notices from any other retailers. Virtual Adviser subscribers may also opt to receive no advertising whatsoever.


Screaming at you?
"Most OnStar subscribers put a priority on the safety and security features--that`s always going to be the most important part of OnStar," Huber said. "We want to be very, very careful as we broaden our brand position. We don`t want this to become something like a talking billboard that is screaming at you from inside the car."

OnStar has not yet finalized deals with any third-party advertisers. But Huber said potential advertisers--ranging from online financial service providers to sporting goods retailers--have barraged OnStar with requests to advertise.

Virtual Adviser`s first advertisements will be from financial service providers, including Fidelity and Charles Schwab, that will sponsor the service`s stock updates. The four-second ads will debut with Virtual Adviser later this month. Just before the computerized voice gives the driver an update on selected stocks, the driver may hear, "This update is brought to you by Fidelity."

Experts say location-based push advertising is poised to become one of the hottest marketing trends of the next decade. Revenue from location-based wireless services in North America will increase more than 100-fold, from less than $30 million in 2000 to $3.9 billion by 2004, according to market researchers at The Strategis Group.

Although handheld computers and cellular phones are fertile ground for location-based ads, many say the automobile has much greater potential.

The market research-intensive automobile industry has already collected a wealth of data on customers, ranging from household income and educational status to mortgage applications and satellite TV preferences. If automakers share that data with third-party retailers, they could pinpoint advertisements and thrust them on a captive, targeted audience.

Letting advertisers subsidize the cost of onboard navigation and concierge systems is another advantage. Although navigation systems and onboard cellular services are relatively common in Japan, American customers have been far less willing to pay for the services. Huber said advertisers may eventually subsidize a fraction of the cost of OnStar, which ranges from $199 to $399 annually.

Automatic emergency calls
OnStar`s Virtual Adviser service is conducted through a hands-free, voice-activated phone. The driver hears a computerized voice through the vehicle`s stereo speakers, while a microphone embedded in the vehicle`s headliner picks up the driver`s commands.

Beginning later this month, Virtual Adviser customers will be able to hear numerous types of Web-based information, including updated stock prices, weather and sports scores. Customers must first select which information they want to hear by filling out an online questionnaire. Sunnyvale, Calif.-based General Magic provides the voice-activated user interface (VUI) for the Virtual Adviser`s Web content.

Roughly 800,000 people subscribe to OnStar, and the GM division is expecting dramatic growth. Toyota features optional OnStar service in its luxury Lexus vehicles, and Honda will feature it as an option on its luxury Acura models beginning in the second quarter of 2001.

OnStar equipment is currently included in roughly one out of four GM vehicles, and about 5,000 new customers sign up for the service every day. It is offered as a standard or optional feature on all GM vehicles except for compact cars, such as the low-end Chevy Cavalier. OnStar debuted two and a half years ago as an option on Cadillac luxury sedans.

OnStar comes in two levels of service. The Safety and Security package, which costs $199 per year including all per-minute cellular charges, features a single emergency button that links to OnStar customer service representatives at call centers in Troy, Mich., and Charlotte, N.C.

Representatives can remotely open the car doors if a person is locked out, or conduct simple diagnostic research if the car stalls. The service also sends out an emergency call if the air bags deploy, in which case a representative will either confirm that the driver is safe or dispatch an emergency vehicle to the site.

"Premium" service costs $399 per year including all per-minute cellular charges and is only offered on Cadillacs. It includes all the Safety and Security features as well as routing assistance for 5 million points of interest in North America. A concierge service is also included, in which a call center representative will purchase tickets or make reservations at local entertainment events and restaurants.

Nuance and GM unit for voice to drive OnStar Virtual Advisor

NEW YORK, Jan 17 (Reuters) - General Motors Corp. (NYSE:GM - news) on Wednesday said it has tightened its relationship
with speech recognition company Nuance Communications Inc. (NasdaqNM:NUAN - news), the engine for the automaker`s
OnStar Virtual Advisor -- a voice-enabled hands-free Web service for the car.

The service slowly has been introduced in the Northeast and will roll out across the country in the fourth quarter. Users of the service, which started four years ago
as a safety feature on Cadillacs, will be able to get stock quotes, news and sports as well as have their e-mail read to them.

Nuance is the market leader of natural speech recognition, supplying a powerful engine that allows users to use natural speech to request and get information, make
transactions and contact people.

General Magic Inc. (NasdaqNM:GMGC - news), a Nuance partner, developed and will host the services. But the direct relationship will give General Motors and
Nuance a direct relationship to research other uses for voice recognition, OnStar Spokesman Todd Carstensen said.

``It`s a direct relationship for keeping current with their technology and to work with them on a research and development bases when we`re thinking about new
service for Virtual Advisor,`` Carstensen said.

OnStar Virtual Advisor will be bundled together with the regular OnStar service, a 24-hour assistant center available with just a touch of a button, said OnStar
Spokesman Todd Carstensen. Using the satellite global positioning service, an OnStar staff person can tell where a car is located, give directions, dispatch a
emergency personnel if needed as well as other services.

OnStar Virtual Advisor, along with a phone-like service that needs no hands and operates through voice commands, will be available through a pre-paid fee
arrangement.

OnStar equipment is built into 32 of GM`s 54 models. A one-year safety service is either included in the price or is part of an option package on some models. After
that, the safety service costs $199 a year and additional services can run up to $399 a year.

OnStar currently has 700,000 to 800,000 subscribers and is adds about 4,000 to 5,000 each day, Carstensen said.

``In volume terms, they`re targeting to get to 4 million vehicles by 2003,`` Ronald Croen, Nuance Chief executive. ``We see this as a significant segment of the user
population wanting to access all this centralized information from their cars.``

With that many cars and users, OnStar probably will end up voice-enabling much of the information people want to access, including directions, local restaurants and
weather conditions functions for which a human being will not be needed.

Du stellst hier englische Texte rein. Diesen köstlichen Text aus Raging Bull hätte ich gerne besser verstanden. Mein Englisch reicht leider nicht aus um besser zu verstehen. Deshalb die Frage:" Hast Du eine Empfehlung für eine Software die übersetzt?"

Ansonsten beobachte ich den Kursverlauf von General Magic seit etwa einem Jahr. Beim Kurs von 2,00 € konnte ich nicht mehr wiederstehen und habe mir ein ordentliches Paket zugelegt. Die gehandelten Stücke drüben sind gar nicht `mal wenig. Ein gutes Indiz. Die vorhandenen Partner im Rücken dürften uns eigentlich ruhig schlafen lassen. Vielleicht behält Romney recht, vorausgesetzt ich habe es richtig verstanden.

britischen Zeitung Guardian outete sich die schwergewichtige Größe des
Showbusiness jetzt als heimlicher Fan der Spice Girls. "Ja, ich liebe diese
Mädels", offenbarte Elvis den erstaunten Fragestellern, "aber meine

Möglich wurde die Konversation mit dem reinkarnierten King of Rock`n Roll
durch den Einsatz eines sprechenden Roboters (kurz Chatbot genannt), der
mit Originalaussagen von Elvis Presley gefüttert wurde. Ein weiterer Vertreter
in der Reihe wiederauferstandener Pop-Größen ist ein John Lennon Chatbot,
der von der amerikanischen Triumph PC zum virtuellen Leben erweckt wurde.

Chatbots sind heutzutage überall im Internet anzutreffen: Es sind künstliche
Sprachroboter, die neben vorgefertigten Standardsätzen wie "Willst Du
darüber sprechen" oder "Ja, ich verstehe" auch die Umformulierung von
Aussagen der Gesprächspartner zu einfachen Fragen beherrschen. Diese in
der Psychologie als Paraphrasieren bekannte Technik ist mittlerweile so
ausgereift, dass es manchem Chatter gar nicht auffällt, seit einer halben
Stunde mit einem Computerprogramm zu quasseln.

Kommt der virtuelle Elvis noch ein wenig tapsig daher (Frage: Wieviele
Cheeseburger essen Sie jeden Tag? Antwort: Etwa 1000), ist ein Gespräch mit
dem Chatbot Alice durchaus als hochintellektuell einzustufen. Alice (ein
Open-Source-Projekt) wurde letztes Jahr mit dem renommierten
Loebner-Preis für den menschenähnlichsten Computer ausgezeichnet, und sie
ist sowohl in der Lage, über Existenzialismus-Theorien als auch über
Metaphysik zu plaudern.

Alice`s Schöpfer, Dr. Richard Wallace, sieht sich angesichts der mehr als 6000
Gesprächswünsche mit Alice pro Monat in der Prognose bestätigt, dass es in
Zukunft noch sehr viel häufiger zu einer Konversation zwischen Mensch und

Sollte man jetzt einsteigen oder warten bis nach den Zahlen ? ? ? ? ?

Das "Warten" dürfte zu der bitteren Erkenntnis führen, daß man General Magic nicht hinterherlaufen, sondern die
günstigen Einstiegskurse nutzen sollte.

Die Autoshows haben gezeigt, daß die Technologie hohe Ansprüche stellt. Ebenso daß der Kund Qualität schätzt und verlangt.
Der heimliche Star in diesem Technologiesector wird zweifellos General Magic sein. Qualität, insbesondere im Bereich Spacherkennung, Sprachsoftware... liefert General Magic. Hierauf bauen bereits Firmen wie IBM, Nokia, HP, und zahlreiche Hersteller versch. Navigationssysteme u.s.w.
Phillips, Carin... sind längst auf GM aufmerksam geworden.
In America ist das, von General Magic entwickelte Car-System "ON Star" die Zukunft und der Maßstab auf dem gesamten Fahrzeugsektor. was ist schon sicher?!
Durch familiäre Kontakte in die USA bin ich eigentlich auf General Magic aufmerksam gemacht worden.
Natürlich bleiben mir General Magic gegenwärtig auch noch einiges schuldig. Da ich jedoch auch den Worten eines in den USA tätigen Bänkers Glauben schenke (auch oder gerade weil dieser mit mir verwandt ist), wo mir GM ans Herz gelegt wurde, bleibe ich dabei und harre der Dinge.


Ich will jedoch niemandem zu Nahe treten.

General Magic loses $6.2M in December quarter

General Magic fell short of analyst estimates in the
fourth quarter.

After market close Wednesday, the company reported
a fourth-quarter loss of $6.2 million, or 13 cents per
share, excluding one-time charges. The lone analyst
surveyed by First Call predicted a loss of 9 cents per
share for General Magic`s quarter ended Dec. 31.

General Magic provides voice-application services as
well as a voice platform to enterprise, Internet and
telecommunications companies.

Shares of General Magic traded at $1.50 in after-hours
activity on the Island ECN immediately following the
release of quarterly results. General Magic fell 3 cents
to $1.47 in Wednesday`s regular trading ahead of the
news.

Including non-recurring events, General Magic lost $8
million.

Fourth-quarter revenue increased 496 percent
year-over-year to $2.6 million from $436,000 in the
comparable period a year earlier.

The company, which is designing and hosting the
Virtual Advisor financial service for the OnStar system
of General Motors, ended the fourth quarter with cash
and short-term investments of $19 million, down from
$25.5 million at the end of 1999.

"We are sharpening our focus and implementing an
aggressive business strategy that capitalizes on our
technology and application expertise and the growing
voice market opportunities," said Kathie Layton,
recently appointed president and CEO.

"We have taken the steps we believe necessary to
produce sustainable, long-term profitable growth, and
with the recent streamlining activities, we have now
aligned our organizational assets to help achieve our
goals," she said.

Ich wollte Dich nicht angreifen, wegen der Aussage zu GMGC.
Leider hatte ich mit dieser Aktie bis dato kein Glück und will um meinen Einstiegskurs zu verringern,
irgendwann nachkaufen. Der Kurs von GMGC ist zwar schon sehr stark gefallen,aber wann ist genug?
Ich versuche natürlich alle Informationen über den Wert zu bekommen, desshalb hatte die Frage an Dich
gestellt.

Schade, daß sich niemand mehr um General Magic kümmert.
Ich habe zwar selbst im Moment keine Aktien, warte aber schon seit längerem auf einen tragfähigen (Kurs-)Boden um wieder einzusteigen.
Leider sieht es im Moment aber so aus, als würde die Aktie ungebremst zum Penny-Stock verkommen.
Weiß jemand von Euch, wie es dann mit der Nasdaq-Listung aussieht? Ist die Aktie überhaupt noch an der Nasdaq notiert?
Glaubt Ihr nach den zuletzt enttäuschenden Zahlen noch an die Unternehmensstory? Und wie sieht es derzeit mit der Übernahmephantasie aus, die es noch im Frühjahr 2000 gab?
Damals wurden immerhin fast zehn Dollar von der Internet Capital Group geboten.
Weiß zufällig jemand von Euch, ob Fonds in dem Wert investiert sind?

Ich hoffe, daß sich dieses Board bald wieder mit Leben füllt, deshalb würde ich mich über eine Antwort freuen.

Hatte auch schon diesen Wert und schönes Geld gemacht, habe bei 1,31 Eur wieder gekauft und werde erst bei( + 100 % )wieder abgeben allerdings nur soviel wie ich Eingenkapital eingesetzt habe.

Hallo Benaco,

Schön, daß doch noch jemand an GMGC glaubt. Du warst jedenfalls auch nicht so dumm wie ich, 80% mit dem Wert zu verlieren, sondern bist rechtzeitig ausgestiegen.
Da ich mittlerweile mit Stop-Kursen agiere (wir lernen schließlich alle irgendwann dazu), wird mir das aber nicht nochmal passieren.
Jedenfalls habe ich trotz allem für morgen ein Abstauberlimit von 1,20 € in den Markt gelegt. Denn wenn man sich die jeweiligen Jahrestiefs von 1998-2000 anguckt, sollten wir eigentlich bald am Boden angekommen sein (alle ca. bei 1US-$).

Ja, und das ganze wie gewohnt ohne Nachrichten und heute mal sogar ohne eine "anschiebende" NASDAQ.
Eins ist klar: Bei einem so marktengen Wert kann bei ansatzweiser Erholung in Amerika schnell mal ein Gewinn von 100% und mehr innerhalb weniger Wochen (Tage) herausspringen. Leider sieht es im Moment meiner Meinung nach noch nicht danach aus. Ich werde mich mit Käufen jedenfalls bis zum Erreichen der "magischen" 1$-Grenze gedulden.

RESULTS OF OPERATIONS

The Company recorded a net loss of $35.1 million, or $0.77 per share, for the year ended December 31, 2000, compared to a net loss of $47.6 million, or $1.56
per share, for the year ended December 31, 1999, and a net loss of $38.9 million, or $2.09 per share, for the year ended December 31, 1998. The net loss per
share for the year ended December 31, 2000, included the net loss for the period and $7.8 million in adjustments to accumulated deficit related to dividends on
preferred stock and preferred stock and warrants with beneficial conversion rights issued during the period. Excluding the effect of these adjustments, the loss per
share for the year ended December 31, 2000, would have been $0.63 per share. The net loss per share for the year ended December 31, 1999, included the net
loss for the period and $13.6 million in adjustments to accumulated deficit related to preferred stock with beneficial conversion rights issued during the period.
Excluding the effect of these adjustments, the loss per common share for the year ended December 31, 1999, would have been $1.22 per share. The net loss per common share for the year
ended December 31, 1998, included the net loss for the period and $22.9 million in adjustments to accumulated deficit related to preferred stock and warrants with
beneficial conversion and redemption rights issued during the period. Excluding the effect of these adjustments, the loss per common share for the year ended
December 31, 1998, would have been $1.31 per share.

REVENUE

Total revenue for the year ended December 31, 2000, was $10.7 million, compared to $2.5 million and $2.3 million for the years ended December 31, 1999 and
1998, respectively. Total revenue for 2000 consists of service revenue primarily related to the development of the OnStar Virtual Advisor. Total revenue for 1999
consists of license fees for the Company`s Magic Cap, Telescript and software modem technologies, subscription fees for the Portico service, and revenue for the
development of the Virtual Advisor for OnStar. Service revenue for 1999 consists of subscription fees for the Portico service and OnStar development fees.
Licensing revenue for 1999 includes $1.5 million associated with a license to Mitsubishi Electric Corporation ("MELCO"), which became effective in August 1999
pursuant to the terms of a June 1997 settlement agreement. Other revenue in 1999 consists of fees earned under customer-specific support service contracts, and
subscription fees for the Portico service. Licensing revenue in 1998 consists primarily of nonrefundable, nonrecoupable license fees for the Company`s technologies
where no further obligations by the Company existed. Other revenue in 1998 consists of fees earned under customer-specific engineering, maintenance and support
services contracts. Fees from customer-specific engineering projects were recognized under the percentage-of-completion method based on achievement and
acceptance of milestones or performance of services, as applicable. Support and maintenance fees were recognized over the period the service or maintenance was
provided. The increase in total revenue from 1999 to 2000 was due primarily to service revenue for the OnStar Virtual Advisor. The increase in total revenue from
1998 to 1999 was due to increased Portico subscription fees and the OnStar revenue.

COST OF REVENUE

Cost of revenue for the year ended December 31, 2000, was $4.5 million compared to $195 thousand and $363 thousand for the years ended December 31, 1999
and 1998, respectively. In 2000 and 1999, the cost of revenue was related primarily to the services performed for OnStar. In 1998, cost of revenue consisted of
hardware costs associated with the DataRover 840 device. The increase in cost of revenue from 1999 to 2000 was directly related to the increase in development
services for the OnStar Virtual Advisor. The decrease from 1998 to 1999 was due to the spin-out of the DataRover division offset partially by the cost of services
associated with OnStar.

Jetzt rächt es sich, daß ich meine Aufträge immer nur tagesgültig limitiere. Sonst hätte ich jetzt 1200 GMGC-Aktien mit 15% Plus im Depot.
Shit happens. Aber vielleicht kommt meine Chance ja noch.

Den "Vollidioten" (sorry), würde ich allerdings auch mal
gerne kennenlernen.
Kurse zu 0,95 Euro sind ja wohl stark untertrieben.
Eine Überreaktion würde den Menschen entschuldigen (grins).
General Magic wird wieder geboren werden. Die Zocker werden sicherlich auch wieder ihr `übriges` zu den Kursschwankungen dazutun.
Ich jedenfalls glaube an die Technik und die Tatsache, daß Qualität sich auf Dauer immer durchsetzen wird.

Tja, das war` s glaube ich fürs erste.
Ich hätte beim besten Willen nicht gedacht, daß GMGC ohne zu zögern und sogar gegen den Markttrend durch die 1$-Marke rasseln würde. Wenn jetzt kein schneller Rebound erfolgt, sehe ich schwarz. Kurse von 0,4$ sind jetzt ohne weiteres in Kürze erreichbar.
Daß die Bewegung rein technisch erklärbar ist, zeigt sich beim Blick auf die weiter dünne Nachrichtenlage.
Ich werde, wie bereits geschrieben, weiter auf eine Bodenbildung warten. Im Moment ist das Risiko enorm hoch.

Ich bleibe dabei: Gestern zu einem solchen Discountkurs zu verkaufen, war schlicht blödsinnig. Der Verkäufer hätte gut und gerne 20 Cent mehr bekommen können.

Erst mal ein Lob für alle die General Magic noch halten.Zur Zeit hage ich mit der Aktie etwa 30.000 DM Verlust gemacht aber ich halte Sie.
Grund Ich bin kein Zocker und warte denn es ist Ausdauer gefragt.General wird kommen im Moment ist im Telecombereich die Luft Raus und im Vergleich zu z.B.Ariba,C1 und Broadvision hat sich General doch gans gut gehalten.
Also Augen zu und durch..Am 02.05.01 kommen Zahlen und man wird sich wundern,der Turnaround ist geschafft,neuer Bericht auf www.12Aktien.de.

halte auch diese Aktie seit längerer Zeit und bin momentan mit Minus DM 12.000 dabei. Die Zocker machen vielleicht die schnelle Mark, aber langfristig werden wir lachen. GMGC macht eine geniale und einmalige Technik und mit dem neuen Management wird man den Turnaround schaffen. In 5 Jahren lachen wir über die heutigen Kurse und im Gegensatz zu den Zockern sind wir dann bei einem Kurs von 20 noch dabei :-)

Ich habe gerade nochmal in der "Capital" 4/2000 die Konditionen nachgeschlagen. Ich war zwar im letzten Jahr selbst investiert, die genauen Daten waren mir aber nicht mehr präsent.
Also: Damals bot Growth Capital bis zum (18. Februar 2000) 9,00 US-$ je GMGC-Aktie. Kurz nach der Bekanntgabe stieg der Kurs über diese Marke und die Offerte wurde uninteressant.

Board Announces Intention to Appoint Sue Swenson as New Chairman

Revenue for the first quarter ended March 31, 2001, was $1.2 million, compared to $2.6

per diluted share, in the first quarter of 2001, an improvement compared to a net loss of
$12.2 million or $0.26 per diluted share, in the first quarter of 2000. The net loss for the first
quarter of 2001 included a $133 thousand non-cash adjustment to accumulated deficit related
to dividends on preferred stock and favorable redemption rights on warrants for Series H
preferred stock, compared to a $148 thousand adjustment related to dividends on preferred
stock during the same period of 2000.

Operating expenses for the first quarter of 2001 were $8.6 million, an improvement
compared to $14.9 million for the first quarter of 2000.

Cash and short-term investments totaled $17.3 million, as of March 31, 2001, compared to
$19.0 million, as of December 31, 2000. As of March 31, 2001, there were 67.5 million
shares of common stock outstanding. Additions to Management Team

The Board of Directors has expressed its intention to appoint Susan G. Swenson as
Chairman of the Board. Ms. Swenson has served as a director of the Company since

This is being posted on numerous boards but it doesn`t make sense the way it is phrased. First of all, GM might invest
another $10,000,000 to gain the number of shares that the need to control the BOD and effectively take over the company
for short money. If that occurs, I would imagine that the price would definitely spike up even if it led to further dilution, as
this would be the sign that everyone seems to be waiting for regarding ONSTAR and VA.
As for GM and 5 to 10,000,000 - that is really petty cash for them and could be decided at a rather lower level than you
might think. GM delegates broad powers to managers and budgetary control on amounts that you can`t believe.

I started picking up on the GM Rumor going out a few days ago. I was unable to confirm that it was not a Rumor being
started to get a Pop. If so they did not present it very well. 15% is OK.. But it does not get us out of trouble. I still believe in
the Pops. I no longer maintain such faith in the deals coming through. Shows what disappointment can do. I Hope the
rumor is true for that will be a Pop above One. Which we need. So far it is just a little game GMGC`ers.. and traders can
play while we`re still being Punished for bad behavior. (staying under $1.) ...I expect a rescue. As pointed out the Financing
is woefully bleak at 90 cents or less a share. Further Toxic arrangements would be the Very Bad. So rumor or not I have
some expectation of "Rescue".

Revenue for the second quarter ended June 30, 2001, was $1.0 million,
compared to $2.3 million in the second quarter of 2000. This decrease in revenue
was due largely to the completion of the initial development phase of the OnStar
Virtual Advisor, and a slower than expected ramp in OnStar services revenue. As
previously disclosed, increasing revenue attributable to sales of General Magic
software products and services is anticipated in the second half of 2001. The
Company incurred a net loss applicable to common shareholders of $7.8 million or
$0.11 per diluted share in the second quarter of 2001, an improvement compared
to a net loss applicable to common shareholders of $16.5 million or $0.32 per

second quarter of 2001 included an $82,000 non-cash adjustment to accumulated

Talked to GMGC this afternoon...

They verified that the ELOC does expire next month....on August 25th...and GMGC is not going to renew it.

30% of the preferred shares...D and F...remain. The D`s can reset twice a year and F`s can reset quarterly until March 30,
2002. I assume that the D`s can reset this month and after December and the F`s can reset this month, after September
and after December. So only 2 more D reset periods which includes the 10 day period the beginning of this month and the
F`s have 3 reset periods left including this month.

Very little shares left to convert for the H`s.

GMGC is using other financing vehicles such as the LTCO to raise money. I got the message that they will not be going
back to the sharks for more money and are pursuing other financing vehicles. I believe that the only reason why the series
H occured was to break from the rights of first refusal held by the preferreds....which is still intact (I think because of the
share price dropping below $ 4 last Fall).

I see a sincere effort on the part of GMGC to rid themselves of the toxic financing which was initiated back in 1999 by
McCormick. And I believe that if GMGC can raise another $ 15-20 million, they can get past March 30, 2002 when the
whole toxic financing mess will finally be over.

Hopefully by then the market will be more bullish and revenues will finally be trickling in. I`m hoping that when the preferreds
are finally gone the short interest will drop significantly causing the stock to start floating upwards again.

Since GMGC is spending about $8-9 million per quarter and they have about $ 15 million cash left, another $ 15-20 million
might be more than enough.

Assuming $ 2M (Layton already gave us this), $ 4M and $ 6M for the next 3 quarters in actual revenues ( I mean OnStar
has got to be bringing in something by then)....GMGC will have between $ 42 -47 million to keep operations going.

If revenues grow to $ 8 million by 2nd quarter 2002..GMGC will be close to break even.

If OnStar becomes a success...for GMGC...and they find other revenue streams...they look like they might make it.

So for those who are patient...looks like we have another 9 months to go.

New GMGC Contract Worth Just Under $6 Million

I asked questions of GMGC today and was told the following:

(1) The new Onstar deal with GMGC is for development and maintenance and is for a little under $6 million over the next twelve
months. The contract does not replace any present NOC service contract. At least for now, the group working on this reports to
CTO Haleftiras. GMGC will maintain a certain level of manning to support continuous development and maintenance of the VA
service. GMGC gets paid the nearly $6 million for maintaining a level of support as opposed to a contract paying for specific
deliverables.
(2) Current VA activity at the NOC is VERY minimal. The service is only being offered to a handful as final tuning takes place. The

companies was that over the past five years?

Company 1 - From the PR: "...Most recently, Phillips was chief technology officer and vice president of engineering at OPI Software..." A search on
Excite for "OPI Software" had nothing for a company by that name. "OPI" is a type of graphics software, "open prepress interface." My guess is that
OPI Software is a very small company. What did he accomplish there? He was there for only a short period. See the next item.

Company 2 - From the PR: "...Prior to this, [OPI] Phillips held the role of vice president of engineering at Angara E-Commerce Services..." Comment:
The Angara website says the company was founded in 1999. The company is venture-funded by big names.

Company 3 - From the PR: "Phillips also spent three years leading the engineering team at Insession, Inc., expanding the engineering team spanning
three continents and delivering two major products on six different platforms before the company was acquired by Transactions Systems Architects,
Inc. (TSA) in 1999..." Comments: Transactions Systems Architects trades as TSAI and has a market cap of $339 million. The Insession division has a

General Comments:

(1) An OK resume, B – B+, but no VUI experience that I saw.

(2) Pat Haleftiras, VP and Chief Technology Officer, may not be doing so well since this position seems to contend for the top technical spot.

(3) I am disappointed that GMGC is adding another executive. I believe they should be scaling back. (However, perhaps this is a sign of confidence
and perhaps they expect results far better than I imagine for Q3 and Q4.)

(4) The latest SEC 10Q included employment agreements for all the management team, members new in 2001, i.e. Layton, Russian, Haleftiras, and
Adamson. (There was also an agreement for continuing compensation for former CFO Rose Marcario.) The four new executives have salaries,
temporary living expenses, and guaranteed bonuses exceeding $1.3 million for their first year. Layton’s golden parachute is quite nice (not totally out of
line with similar companies), the others are less generous. These agreements are the final attachments to the SEC 10Q of 8/14/2001 as posted on
the GMGC web site.

DaimlerChrysler invests in technology that lets cars `talk` to each

DETROIT (AP) - DaimlerChrysler Venture, a subsidiary of DaimlerChrysler AG, said Monday it`s investing $5.4 million US in the development of a
system that would let vehicles electronically "talk" to each other to provide real-time traffic information.

The system, called Decentralized Traffic Routing, is being developed by Munich, Germany-based Definiens AG. Unlike most computer networks, DTR
would not require a stationary server or relay point.

With the installation of a small computer module that includes a tiny radio transmitter, each vehicle becomes a part of a rolling computer network,
sending and receiving information to other similarly equipped vehicles.

The technology is known as "autonomous mobile agents in cluster communication systems," or Amaccs. Drivers would instantly know how crowded
a particular roadway or route is, based on the information on the network.

"Every car would know what`s going on around him," said Thomas Grevel, Definiens` chief executive.

Grevel says the system could help prevent collisions in some instances, especially when visibility is impaired, such as in fog.

"You might want to send a signal to the other cars around you to slow down," Grevel said.

"We are convinced that the technology developed by Definiens will fundamentally change the market and will be an excellent complement to the
extended experience we have gathered in our telematics research," said Dr. Marianne Tumpen, managing director of DaimlerChrysler Venture.

"De-central communication is the concept for the future because it renders direct car-to-car communication possible for the first time," she said in a
written statement.

One of the advantages DTR would have over systems that operate over cellphone systems is the cost, Grevel said.

By operating over public radio frequencies, transmission and reception is free, he said.

Grevel also sees the possibility of sending and receiving messages, software and possibly images between vehicles.

Privacy could be protected, he said, by using encryption technology.

Most on-board navigation systems in use today are tied into a central computer or base station, staffed by a human "adviser." The driver simply
connects through a cellphone connection.

Grevel said he would like to work with General Motors Corp.`s OnStar service, which provides real-time traffic information through its
Virtual Advisor system.

An OnStar spokeswoman said the company might be interested in hearing what Grevel has to say.

"We`re always interested in anything that enhances the driving experience," said OnStar spokeswoman Deborah Frakes.

Grevel said the system has been tested so far on only five cars, but the company will begin a benchmarking process in October in Munich.

The test will involve 50 vehicles made by DaimlerChrysler, BMW, Volkswagen and Audi.

Nasdaq Mulls Waiver of $1 Delisting Rule

NEW YORK (Reuters) - The Nasdaq stock market is considering changing its regulations so that companies whose
share price has fallen below $1 may not be delisted, sources close to the situation told Reuters on Tuesday.

There are around 669 Nasdaq companies trading now below $1 and a number of companies have been delisted this
year as the market has fallen sharply.

Nasdaq sends a company a notice telling it to shape up after it trades for less than $1 a share for 30 days in a row. If a
company does not get its closing share price back above the $1 level for 10 trading days in a row during the next 90
days, Nasdaq sends it a delisting notice, which it can appeal.

An executive at one well-known technology company, whose shares are trading below the key $1 level and which
asked not to be identified, told Reuters they had been informed by Nasdaq officials that it would not enforce its
delisting rule, even though the company`s shares had traded below $1 for 30 days.

Another technology company, whose stock also has traded below $1 for more than 30 days, said Nasdaq officials had
told it that they were reviewing the delisting regulations.

One chief executive of a leading share dealing firm told Reuters he had advised Nasdaq it needed to change its
delisting rules.

``The bottom line is that test alone ... is not adequate,`` he said. ``There should be a few tests, the $1 rule doesn`t really
make any sense.``

``The reality is there`s a lot of companies that are $50 million to $250 million in market capitalization that certainly have
a lot of shareholders and a lot of trading value and a lot of net capital ... and would qualify to stay on markets,`` the
CEO said. ``But because we have this hard-and-fast $1 rule they`re subject to delisting.``

A Nasdaq spokesman said it was ``closely monitoring these issues,`` but it was too early to make any statements.

Was für ein Anblick: Die Technologiewerte an Wall Street völlig entfesselt, Aktien von Schwergewichten wie Cisco Systems, Ciena und Juniper Networks verbuchen scheinbar mühelos Kursgewinne jenseits der Marke von 20 Prozent.
So geschehen am Mittwoch, dem Tag der Deutschen Einheit. Der Nasdaq Composite schoss nach einer Reihe positiver Unternehmens- und Konjunkturdaten um 5,9 Prozent in die Höhe – der höchste prozentuale Zuwachs seit sechs Monaten.

War das die Trendwende? Der Eindruck könnte entstehen, zumal der Anstieg von kräftigen Umsätzen begleitet wurde. Ein genauerer Blick hinter die Kulissen offenbart jedoch, dass Eindeckungen aus Leerverkäufen zu einem erheblichen Teil zum Kursfeuerwerk beigetragen haben.
In den vergangenen Monaten gehörten hochkapitalisierte Firmen wie Cisco, Ciena und Juniper zu den großen Verlierern an Wall Street. Anleger nutzten die negative Stimmung zum Aufbau immer größerer Short-Positionen, dass heißt, sie liehen sich die Aktien in Erwartung weiter fallender Kurse beispielsweise bei Banken und Händlern aus und verkauften sie anschließend am Markt. Alleine bei Cisco summierte sich die Zahl der leerverkauften Aktien auf 96 Millionen Stück.

Um Verluste zu begrenzen, können Short-Positionen mit Stopp-Loss-Marken versehen werden. Steigen die Aktien schließlich über ein zuvor festgelegtes Kursniveau, wird die Position automatisch durch den Kauf einer gleichgroßen Anzahl an Aktien glattgestellt. Dieses Eindecken führt zu steigenden Kursen, was erneut Stopp-Loss-Marken auslöst – der Beginn einer Aufwärtsspirale, wie sie am Mittwoch zu beobachten war.

Anders ist es auch nicht zu erklären, wie die Aktien von Multimilliarden-Dollar- Unternehmen wie an der Schnur gezogen immer weiter zulegten. Die Aussagen von Cisco-Chef John Chambers, er sei mit der Geschäftsentwicklung in den letzten vier Monaten zufrieden, mögen zwar der Auslöser für den Kursschub gewesen sein, sie waren aber ganz sicher nicht die 18 Milliarden Dollar wert, um die der Börsenwert von Cisco in den darauffolgenden Stunden zugelegt hat.

A report calling for an investigation into private investments in
public entities, or so-called PIPEs financing, involving an offshore
law firm suspected of money laundering has been submitted to the
U.S. Senate`s permanent subcommittee on investigations on
Capitol Hill.

The equity-line financings examined in the report — compiled by an
anonymous market professional and based in part on investigative
reporting by The Daily Deal — were all provided by trustee
companies of a Liechtenstein law firm, Dr. Dr. Batliner & Partner.

Herbert Batliner, head of the Batliner law firm, is the subject of
money laundering and tax evasion investigations in Germany and in
his native Liechtenstein, which has recently taken measures to
clean up its reputation as a money laundering center in Europe.

The ultimate ownership of the Batliner companies investing in
PIPEs with U.S. companies is unknown. But Batliner is known to
have handled funds for a number of questionable individuals.

companies between 1997 and the beginning of 2001 through SEC
filings. The 60 companies identified included 18 receiving
convertible debentures and 42 receiving equity lines, sometimes

General Magic Announces Third Quarter 2001 Results

SUNNYVALE, Calif.--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 24, 2001--General Magic, Inc.
(Nasdaq:GMGC), a pioneer in voice application software and services, today announced its
operating results for the third quarter ended September 30, 2001.

Revenue for the third quarter ended September 30, 2001, was $1.6 million, compared to $1.0
million in the second quarter of 2001 and to $3.2 million in the third quarter of 2000.

Net loss applicable to common shareholders for the third quarter was $6.5 million or $0.09 per
diluted share in the third quarter, compared to $7.8 million or $0.11 per diluted share in the
second quarter of 2001, and to $6.1 million or $0.10 per diluted share in the third quarter a year
ago. The net loss per share for the third quarter of 2001 included a $69 thousand non-cash
adjustment to accumulated deficit related to dividends on preferred stock, compared with a
similar $82 thousand non-cash adjustment related to favorable conversion rights and dividends
on preferred stock during the second quarter of 2001, and an $84 thousand non-cash
adjustment related to favorable conversion rights and dividends on preferred stock during the
third quarter of 2000.

Operating expenses for the third quarter were $7.8 million, compared to $8.9 million in the
second quarter of 2001, and to $8.5 million for the third quarter of 2000. Cash and short-term
investments totaled $9.9 million as of September 30, 2001, compared to $15.6 million as of
June 30, 2001, reflecting a net cash burn of $5.7 million for the third quarter of 2001.

As of September 30, 2001, there were 74.1 million shares of common stock outstanding.

Guidance

The following guidance for the fourth quarter is based on the

-- Revenue in the fourth quarter of 2001 will be approximately $1.7
million, which is slightly up compared to the third quarter 2001
for three reasons:

-- It is anticipated the company will ship its magicTalk
Enterprise Platform late in the fourth quarter, but that
revenue recognition rules will result in the deferral of most
of the revenue from these sales to 2002;

-- OnStar revenues will increase compared to the third quarter;
but

-- These incremental revenues will be offset by reduction in
revenues resulting from the discontinuation of the Portico
service.

-- Cost of Revenues and Operating Expenses for the fourth quarter of
this year are expected to be between $8.4 million and $9.2
million. The increase over the $7.8 million recorded in the third
quarter of 2001 is expected to be primarily for product
development in order to ensure timely delivery of the magicTalk
Enterprise Platform. This also includes approximately $1.2 million
in depreciation and amortization expense.

-- Net cash burn for the fourth quarter prior to any financings, is
expected to be between $6.0 million and $6.5 million as the
company ramps up product development.

-- Loss per share is estimated to be approximately $0.10.



Conversion of preferred shareholders


On October 1, the company announced that it reached an agreement with certain of its investors
who held more than 40 percent of the then-outstanding Series D and Series F preferred stock,
to convert their preferred stock holdings into the company`s common stock and to cancel all
warrants held by them to purchase shares of General Magic common stock. In exchange,
General Magic has paid these investors an aggregate amount of $416,000 which is reflected as
dividends on preferred stock paid in the third quarter.

Under a second agreement, announced on October 17, the remaining investors who held
approximately 60% of the Company`s outstanding Series D and Series F preferred stock,
converted their Series D and Series F preferred stock, canceled all warrants held by them and
returned approximately 480,000 shares of common stock in exchange for notes aggregating
$1,250,000, to be paid over the next 18 months.

Raising Additional Capital


As was reported during the second quarter of 2001, General Magic entered into an equity
placement arrangement under which it intends to offer General Magic common stock for
aggregate proceeds of up to $15 million. These securities may be offered from time to time on
behalf of General Magic by the investment banking firm of Ladenburg Thalmann & Co. on a best
efforts basis. General Magic will have full control over the price and terms of any sale and is
under no obligation to sell any shares. Proceeds of this financing will fund the continued
development of the company`s core products.

The company intends to raise $15 to $20 million in the second half of 2001 through the first half
of 2002 and is currently evaluating several different financing vehicles, including the Ladenburg
Thalmann equity placement arrangement, in order to meet the company`s funding objective.

The company completed its recruitment of its management team with the addition of Mark
Phillips to vice president of product development. Mr. Phillips is a seasoned veteran of the

General Magic Announces Fourth Quarter and Year-End 2001 Results; GeneralMagic to Partner with InterVoice-Brite


SUNNYVALE, Calif., Jan 31, 2002 (BUSINESS WIRE) -- General Magic, Inc., (Nasdaq: GMGC), a leading provider of voice infrastructure software, today announced its operating results for the fourth quarter and year ended December 31, 2001.

"Our financial results this quarter demonstrate our commitment to continually managing our expenses while recasting the Company as a software company and developing customers and revenue for our new products," said Kathie Layton, Chief Executive Officer and President of General Magic. "With the addition of two new customers, our new partnership with iVB, and our new product, the magicTalk Enterprise Platform, we are well positioned for growth as we enter 2002."


Financial Results

Revenue for the fourth quarter ended December 31, 2001, was $1.8 million, compared with $1.6 million in the third quarter of 2001 and with $2.6 million in the fourth quarter of 2000. Most of the revenues in the fourth quarter of 2000 were non-recurring development fees for the OnStar Virtual Advisor. Revenues for the quarters ended September 30, and December 31, 2001 represent a combinatwion of hosting and professional services contracts for continued development and maintenance of the OnStar Virtual Advisor.

The Company incurred a loss applicable to common stockholders of $5.6 million, or $0.07 per diluted share, in the fourth quarter of 2001. This compares favorably with a loss applicable to common stockholders of $6.5 million, or $0.09 per diluted share in the third quarter of 2001 and with a loss applicable to common stockholders of $8.0 million, or $0.13 per diluted share in the fourth quarter of 2000. The loss applicable to common stockholders for the fourth quarter of 2001 was adjusted downward to reflect a positive $1.1 million non-cash adjustment to accumulated deficit related to a gain on the conversion of the Series D and F preferred stock (approx. $1.1 million) that offset a charge for dividends on preferred stock (approx. $10 thousand), compared with an $81 thousand downward non-cash adjustment related to dividends on preferred stock during the same period in 2000. Excluding the effect of these non-cash adjustments, the Company incurred a net loss of $6.7 million or $0.08 per share for the fourth quarter of 2001 compared with $6.1 million or $0.09 per share for the third quarter of 2001 and with $7.9 million or $0.13 per share for the fourth quarter 2000.

Cost of revenues and operating expenses for the fourth quarter of 2001 were $8.2 million compared with $7.8 million in the third quarter of 2001 and with $8.5 million for the fourth quarter of 2000. Development expenses for the fourth quarter of 2001 increased over the third quarter of 2001, reflecting the Company`s successful effort to ensure timely delivery of the magicTalk Enterprise Platform.

Cash and short-term investments totaled $10.0 million, as of December 31, 2001, compared with $9.9 million at September 30, 2001, reflecting a net cash burn of $4.2 million prior to any financings. As of December 31, 2001, there were 92.9 million shares of common stock outstanding.

For the year ended December 31, 2001, revenue was $5.6 million, compared with $10.7 million for the year ended December 31, 2000. While most of the revenues in the year 2000 were non-recurring development fees for the OnStar Virtual Advisor, revenues commencing in the year 2001 represent a combination of hosting and professional services contracts for continued development and maintenance of the OnStar Virtual Advisor. The Company incurred a loss applicable to common stockholders of $27.2 million, or $0.38 per diluted share for the year ended December 31, 2001, compared with a loss applicable to common stockholders of $42.9 million, or $0.77 per diluted share, for the year ended December 31, 2000. The net loss per diluted share for the year ended December 31, 2001 included $353,000 in positive adjustments, or $0.01 per diluted share, to accumulated deficit related to a gain recognized on the conversion of Series D and F preferred stock, and the effects of favorable conversion rights on Series H preferred stock and dividends on preferred stock. The net loss per diluted share for the year ended December 31, 2000 includes $7.8 million, or $0.14 per diluted share, in downward adjustments to accumulated deficit related to favorable conversion rights on Series H preferred stock and dividends on preferred stock during the period. Excluding the effect of non-cash adjustments, the Company incurred a net loss of $27.5 million or $0.38 per diluted share for the twelve months of 2001 compared with $35.1 million or $0.63 per diluted share for the same period in 2000.

For the year ended December 31, 2001, cost of revenues and operating expenses were $33.5 million, compared with $43.6 million for the same period in 2000.


InterVoice-Brite

The Company also announced today that it has reached an agreement in principal to partner with InterVoice-Brite (Nasdaq: INTV), a leading provider of speech and self-service solutions serving millions of enterprise customers and institutions worldwide. The companies have signed a Memorandum of Understanding to implement a strategic partnership agreement to integrate elements of their respective technologies and engage in joint marketing initiatives to provide next-generation Interactive Voice Response (IVR) systems that leverage advanced Internet/Web technologies based on the magicTalk Enterprise Platform. The Company anticipates this agreement will represent a multi-year, multi-million dollar contract. Raising Additional Capital

On December 4, 2001 the Company announced that it had consummated a private financing transaction in which it raised $4.7 million, prior to offering expenses, through the sale of common stock to Zimmer Lucas Partners, LLC, and other institutional investors. The funds raised are being used for working capital to support the maintenance, growth and progress of the Company. The Company expects to raise additional capital in the first half of 2002 to fund its continuing operations and plans to evaluate several different financing methods in the process.


Nasdaq Listing Status

In response to the extraordinary market conditions following the tragedy on Sept. 11, Nasdaq issued a moratorium on several of the listing requirements, including minimum bid price of $1.00, for the Nasdaq National Market System through January 2, 2002. As of January 2nd, the listing requirements for the National Market were reinstated and the timetable for the Company to regain compliance was reset. For your information, this means that if our common stock fails to achieve the required minimum bid price of $1.00 by the market`s close on February 13, 2002, then we will be entering into the 90-day "grace period" in which to regain compliance with that rule.

In connection with its press release announcing the lifting of the moratorium, Nasdaq also announced that it is allowing National Market companies that are unable to regain compliance with the National Market`s minimum bid price requirement but that do meet the Initial listing requirements of the Small Cap Market, to list with the Small Cap Market--a more transparent and better regulated market than the available alternatives. Although the Small Cap Market traditionally requires the same minimum bid price of $1.00 as The National Market, Nasdaq has proposed a longer and more flexible grace period during which to meet the minimum bid price requirement for the Small Cap Market. The proposal would suspend the Small Cap`s minimum bid price requirement for transitioning National Market companies for an additional 180 days, allowing those companies to implement plans during that period to regain compliance with the minimum bid requirement. If a National Market Company is able to regain compliance with the minimum bid price requirement by year`s end while on the Small Cap Market, and at the same time is able to maintain compliance with all of the other requirements for continued listing on the National Market during its rebuilding phase, then it will be allowed to rejoin the National Market at that time.

processors today for the telematics market segment. The new family of extended temperature microprocessors, called the
Intel(R) PXA250 and Intel(R) PXA210 applications processors, is specifically designed to bring high-performance solutions to
products that deliver wireless voice and data information to vehicles.
The new Intel processors come at a time when telematics terminals are increasingly being included as a feature in new cars.
According to industry analyst firm Forrester Research, roughly 80 percent of all new vehicles will have built in telematics
capable terminals by 2006.b
"Consumers today have experienced the benefit of initial telematics products and services such as emergency roadside
assistance and basic navigation systems, but it`s only the beginning," said Patrick Kerrigan, marketing director of Intel`s
Telematics Operation. "The new Intel processors, based on Intel XScale technology, will help deliver the increased computing
performance and the scaleability needed to enable a full-range of products from integrated hands-free cellular phone kits to

The new processors are key components of the Intel(R) Personal Internet Client Architecture (Intel PCA), Intel`s
development blueprint for designing wireless handheld communication devices that combine voice communications and Internet
access capabilities. Products using the Intel PXA250 and Intel PXA210 applications processors include BlueConnect(TM), a
hands-free cellular phone system from Johnson Controls, Inc. Through a hands-free module that has been integrated into the
vehicle, drivers can conduct a wide-range of voice-activated activities with their Bluetooth-enabled cellphone.
Another application using the new processors is Yazaki`s Multimedia Vehicle Platform. This platform enables rich multimedia
content such as DVD video and MP3 audio to be independently accessed by passengers via the Media Oriented System
Transport (MOST) network. In addition, consumers can connect portable devices, including cell phones and PDA`s to Yazaki`s
vehicle network.
These products represent examples of how Intel technology is being used in devices to handle requirements for both low
power and high performance to efficiently perform compute-intensive tasks such as speech recognition, text to speech, MP3
decode, route calculation, and map rendering.

Telematics Development Support

Intel has actively engaged with industry leaders to provide development systems and reference designs to help enable
developers to build powerful multimedia and wireless products. The fully featured telematics reference design supports speech

SEC schlägt zurück

Die US-Wertpapieraufsicht SEC hat genug von den Finanzmauscheleien á la Enron und schlägt nun zurück. Vorerst allerdings mit Worten. Unternehmen könnten mit ihren Bilanzierungsmethoden den Anforderungen von GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) genügen und trotzdem gegen die Bestimmungen der SEC verstoßen, warnte ein hochrangiger Beamter der Behörde die Wirtschaft. Die Warnung ist unmissverständlich: Die SEC schlägt eine härtere Gangart gegen Blender ein.

Die Firmenabschlüsse sollen nicht nur die gesetzlichen Auflagen erfüllen, sondern der Öffentlichkeit auch einen realistischen Eindruck über die finanzielle Gesamtsituation vermitteln. Die Forderung ist zwar allgemein gehalten, richtet sich aber in erster Linie an große, komplex aufgebaute Konzerne, die sowohl über die strukturellen als auch über die finanziellen Möglichkeiten verfügen, um die Anleger mit geschönten Bilanzen an der Nase rumzuführen. Der Vorstoß der SEC trifft vor allem bei Wirtschaftsprüfern auf massiven Widerstand.

Verständlich, denn von dem Jonglieren mit den Unternehmenszahlen lebt die gesamte Branche ? und zwar prächtig. Wenn die Firmen alle Auflagen, sowohl die der SEC als auch die der für die Bilanzierungsstandards verantwortliche FASB (Financial Accounting Standards Board) erfüllten, hätten sie deutlich weniger zu tun, dann wären die fetten Jahre vorbei. Aber das ist natürlich Träumerei. Die jetzt gezeigte Ermittlungswut der SEC gegen Firmen wie Enron oder Global Crossing kann nicht darüber hinwegtäuschen, dass die Behörde unter chronischem Personalmangel leidet und gar nicht in der Lage ist, dieses Tempo beizubehalten.

Es ist daher nur eine Frage der Zeit, wann die guten Vorsätze der Realität zum Opfer fallen und wieder "business as usual" angesagt ist. Unser kostengünstiger und leicht umzusetzender Vorschlag:

Die Bilanzen werden zukünftig mit den Zusätzen "Werbung" oder "Anzeige" versehen. Das ändert zwar nicht das Geringste an den Bilanzierungspraktiken, allerdings können sich die

Anleger dann denken, dass sie verschaukelt werden.

The Company is pleased to announce that it has been informed by Mackenzie Partners, its proxy solicitation firm, that it is now likely that a quorum will be present at the March 22, 2002 continuation of the Special Meeting originally called for February 26, 2002. Furthermore, the Company has been advised that brokerage firms that are members of the New York Stock Exchange are now expected to be permitted to vote by proxy at the March 22 Special Meeting shares of the Company`s common stock that are held in street name for their customers, unless otherwise instructed by such customers. This is an important development, in the Company`s view, as NYSE-member brokerage firms did not participate by proxy at the February 26, 2002 Special Meeting of the Stockholders of the Company. Currently, brokerage firms hold approximately 80% of the shares of the Company`s voting stock.

Laura is sick and working from her home today. She was kind enough to call me back. Here is the `readers digest` version of our conversation;
Q; Can my Broker vote in my absence?
A: Yes, you gave that authority when you signed on (read the small print) to that account.
Q; What`s GMGC`s plan of action IF they do not get the votes for more shares?
A: Kathie and company will have to revise GMGC`s business plan. Those additional shares are to get us over the funding hurdle and get us to 4th Qtr. breakeven.
Q;Are there any NEW major revenue recurring accounts that you can speak about?
A: We are talking to the right people and are getting multiple callbacks from those people.
Q: Any news on when the Fortune 10 customer will be made public?
A; No. They will tell us when there ready to tell us.

Das hat den Sinn, dass der "Aktienkurs" dann 8-14 mal höher ist und damit über 1 us$, was wohl Bedingung ist(?) um weiterhin an der Nasdaq gehandelt zu werden und nicht delistet zu werden:

Ich habe gedacht, Du hast Deine GMGC-Aktien verkauft
und Dir dann von dem immensen Erlös in NewZealand ein
Millionendomizil gebaut ??

Wie ich schon mehrmals gepostet habe, sind die Produkte von
GMGC immer noch Weltstandard, aber der Laden ist leider Schrott.
Auf jede neue Erfolgsmeldungen wie die Weiterentwicklung einer Plat(t)form klettert die Aktie in
Zockermanier nach oben, gibt aber im Gegnesatz zu früheren
Kurssprüngen alles wieder ab.

Zu Deiner Frage nach der Zugehörigkeit zu Nasdaq kannst Du
die News vom 13.05.02 zugrunde legen, wonach sich GMGC
zu einen Transfer zum NasdaqSmallCap Market entschlossen
hat. (nachzulesen bei FreeRealtime.com oder ....)

Also Flickus, husch husch ans Werk und nochmals nachkaufen,
damit dein Vermögen nochmal ein klein bisschen sich verändert.

Hab grad Besuch von da unten, bis Mitte August, da läßt mich die GMagic auch bischen kälter, hihi. Meinste denn, der Schrott kommt nochmal, muß doch spätestens im Januar wieder auf die andere Seite.

ausnahmweise mal positive News von gmgc, werden auf Outperform hochgestuft, auf dem derzeitgen Niveau kann man sich wohl gefahrlos welche ins Depot legen.

die Superaktie hat vom 15.07 auf 16.07 einen Aktiensplit
im Verhältnis 1:14 vorgenommen.

Realtimkurse in old Germany habe ich noch nicht gefunden,
die aktuellen Kurse unter freerealtime.com können aber
weiterhin unter der neuen Bezeichnung GMGCD abgerufen
werden.

Ich melde mich, sobald ich etwas neues im Petto habe.

Übrigens: Die Aktie wurde auf 1,022§ gehievt und lag gestern
in der Schlußauktion bei 0,7§, also "nur" ein Verlust von
30%.

In meinem Depot sind die aber immer noch unter 894165 zu sehen kann die auch nicht verkaufen ! Nur Kaufen ? ? ? Ich raff nix mehr !

Es wäre wahrscheinlich besser gewesen sofort zu verkaufen...
denn bis Du die gesplittete WKN im Depot hast,

Aber mal im ernst, wenn meine Bank das umgesellt hat, was dann? Sind wir uns über eins einig: Die Technik von GMagic ist unbestritten gut. Aber was passiert mit dem Kurs, ok, war ja immer ne Zockeraktie, die auch mal eben um 300% springen kann. Andererseits komme ich beim Verkauf mit meinem Restgeld nichtmals mehr nach Frankfurt zum airport, geschweige denn nächstes Jahr wieder nach NZ *ich flieg übrigens wieder, hatte ich Dirs schon erzählt??*

unser zartes Pflänzchen hat ab sofort alle Aktivitäten eingestellt
und den Großteil seiner Mitarbeiter fristlos freigesetzt.

Eine Rumpfmannschaft wird über einen gewissen Zeitraum

noch ne "Rechenspielerei", weil doch u.a. alles damit mal anfing: dem KURSZIEL von "CAPITAL" (echt Klasse Jungs, wirklich , ihr seid spitzenmässig!) = 20 us$:

Kurs jetzt 0,03 us$
den reverse-Split von 1:14 eingerechnet, macht: 0,03 : 14 = 0,0021 us$
macht bei 20 us$ / 100 % = 0,0021 us$ / x
x = 0,01 %
soll heißen:
ca 10.000 x dem jetzigen Kurs, dann wären wir bei der "Empfehlung" vom "CAPITAL" von 20 us$.
