In einer Research Note am Montag herausgegeben von Deutsche Banc Analyst Arvid Sanger wiederholte Sanger seine "Übergewichten" Empfehlung für die Ölfeld Service Gruppe. Er glaubt das die Gruppe ein über 40%ges Aufwärtspotenzial in den nächsten 12 Monaten hat. Wie auch immer, gegeben durch die 3,1% Steigerung bei den Ölfeld Services in der letzten Woche empfiehlt er eine Konzentration auf Unternehmen "mit der schnellsten Gewinnerholung folgend durch Potenzial" wie u.a. Nabors Industries und Weatherford International.
Among oil-service companies, A.G. Edwards raised its rating on Ensco, Rowan, Nabors Industries and Patterson Energy (PTEN: news, chart, profile) to "strong buy" from "hold" and Schlumberger (SLB: news, chart, profile), Maverick Tube (MVK: news, chart, profile) and Grey Wolf (GW: news, chart, profile) to "buy" from "hold."
Frost Securities also raised its ratings on several oil-service stocks Monday, including Diamond Offshore (DO: news, chart, profile) to "buy" from "hold," GlobalSantaFe (GSF: news, chart, profile), Noble Drilling (NE: news, chart, profile) and Transocean, Nabors and Patterson to "strong buy" from "buy."
Analyst Lewis Kreps said "now is the time to buy oilfield service stocks," as the recent pullback in the group "gives investors a better entry point than previously and natural-gas production declines rates help alleviate excess gas in storage through the summer. Kreps also expects favorable OPEC compliance to continue and demand for oilfield services to rise after the second quarter.
