@DK41282,

Best-in-Class Supply Chains Powered by i2 Solutions
i2 customers honored by Supply Chain Technology News for Best Supply Chains of 2002
Dallas, TX
17 October 2002
i2 Technologies, Inc., (Nasdaq: ITWO), the leading provider of value chain management solutions, today announced that seven out of the top ten Best Supply Chains of 2002, honored by Supply Chain Technology News (SCTN), are powered by i2 solutions. The publication named Best Buy, Ford, General Electric, IBM, Johnson & Johnson, Target and PepsiCo as organizations with top notch supply chain activities and pioneers for these operations in their industry.
ARC Advisory Group, one of the leading analyst groups serving the supply chain and manufacturing sector, together with SCTN identified these organizations and assessed supply chain activities. All components that make up a best-in-class supply chain were evaluated including logistics, procurement, warehousing and distribution, customer service, production, sourcing, planning and forecasting, and sales and marketing.
“It is our goal to work with industry leaders as they set the standard for supply chain best practices,” said Sanjiv Sidhu, CEO of i2 Technologies. “These companies are investing in their future by reducing inefficiencies and enhancing customer service – a very distinct competitive differentiator in today’s marketplace. We enjoy working with companies that share our vision and strategy of supply chain optimization and look forward to contributing to their future successes.”
Supply Chain Technology News is a monthly magazine written for critical operating management in supply chain strategy and implementation. The publication services professionals in the electronics and computers, food and beverage, wholesale distribution, automotive and aerospace, consumer goods, pharmaceuticals and healthcare, retail, and cosmetics and petroleum industries.
"The fact that seven of the Ten Best Supply Chains are powered by i2 solutions is a testament to i2`s role as a provider of supply chain technology," said Dave Blanchard, editor-in-chief, Supply Chain Technology News. “i2`s role in helping these companies achieve supply chain proficiency has been significant."

@DK41282 ,

VF Corporation Finds Perfect Fit with i2 Demand Fulfillment for Order Promising; Latest i2 Implementation Helps VF Process More Than 160,000 Customer Transactions Per Day
12:01 EDT Wednesday, October 23, 2002
DALLAS--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Oct. 23, 2002--i2 Technologies, Inc. (Nasdaq:ITWO), the leading provider of value chain management solutions, today announced that VF Corporation (NYSE:VFC) is now live with i2 Demand Fulfillment in its Imagewear group.
The implementation was completed in mid-August and is enabling accurate online order promising.
This implementation marks the 13th i2 go-live at VF Corporation. i2 and VF have completed supply chain planning implementations in VF coalitions accounting for approximately 80 percent of VF`s U.S. sales volume. VF is live with i2 supply chain planning applications in its domestic Jeanswear, Intimates, and two Imagewear groups. VF Jeanswear`s supply chain planning implementation is one of the largest, most complex supply chain planning modules ever undertaken by i2 in the softgoods industry.
"To compete successfully in this environment, companies must become more flexible and continue to reliably meet their commitments," said Ellen Martin, vice president of supply chain systems, VF Corporation. "We needed an accurate and highly configurable solution to manage order fulfillment to the customer with fast response times. i2 has worked diligently to address these challenges and deliver a leading-edge solution for VF and to help us continue to be successful in the softgoods industry."
i2 has recorded several firsts with VF Corporation. This implementation of demand fulfillment is one of the largest in i2 history, helping VF process more than 160,000 customer transactions per day. VF Imagewear is primarily an at-once business where 90 percent of the demand is promised and goods are shipped within 48 hours. Therefore, order promising in a real-time available-to-promise is critical. The i2 solution is helping VF match supply with demand to enable realistic and coordinated promises.
"Every participant across the value chain is faced with the same dilemma - balancing realistic delivery promises to the customer, while respecting the various business limitations of the value chain. With the increase in product variety and complex terms and pricing, this issue has become even more critical," said Terry Turner, i2 senior vice president, Consumer Goods and Retail. "This latest implementation at VF demonstrates how consumer goods companies can manage the optimization and execution within their supply chains to maximize profitability and customer loyalty."
Using i2 Demand Fulfillment for order promising, customers can define delivery dates based on on-hand and projected inventory as defined by promising policies. The High Availability extension of the solution is designed to facilitate reliable fault tolerance and fast and efficient connectivity that is scalable to loads. The solution runs on a variety of hardware platforms with the flexibility to leverage different messaging transports.

i2 Technologies Awards EDS Contract for Software Applications Management
THURSDAY, OCTOBER 24, 2002 8:30 AM
- PR Newswire
PLANO, Texas, Oct 24, 2002 /PRNewswire-FirstCall via COMTEX/ -- EDS (EDS) today announced its latest software applications management contract -- a three-year agreement with i2 Technologies Inc. to manage i2`s Oracle financial and Siebel customer relationship management applications suites.
Through the agreement, financial terms of which were not disclosed, EDS will deploy its Enterprise Applications Management (EAM) services to turn i2`s technology into a variable-cost asset with predictable cost parameters. EDS` EAM services enable companies to more quickly realize the cost benefits of implementing Enterprise Resource Planning software applications, or integrated packages of software supporting a company`s entire enterprise in areas including financial, sales, manufacturing, logistics and human resources.
"Many of our clients look to EDS to help reduce and accurately predict IT costs," said Dan Zadorozny, president of Application Services for EDS` Solutions Consulting line of business. "The flexibility of EDS` leveraged model enables i2 to scale up or down as appropriate for their business strategy."
Focus on Key Strategy
The agreement enables i2 to focus on its key business strategy of delivering value chain management solutions to its customers. Additional benefits include faster deployment of applications and greater flexibility, enhanced efficiency and productivity of applications and the elimination of hidden technology costs such as software upgrades, new skills hiring and IT training.
"This agreement gives us the ability to tightly manage our fixed IT costs and provides us the flexibility, scalability and applications operations expertise of an industry leader such as EDS," said Surku Sinnadurai, i2`s chief information officer and vice president of Software Engineering. "We expect EDS to provide us with reliable and scalable applications management solutions to meet the demands of our business needs and provide quality service levels to minimize the impact of change on our internal operations."
Leadership in Applications Development and Management
Today`s announcement also highlights EDS` leadership in the area of software applications development and management. EDS keeps the Global 2000 operating smoothly by providing more ongoing development, support and maintenance of software than any other IT service provider in the world, according to the results of a recently released study by industry analyst firm International Data Corp. (IDC).
In its annual look at applications management, the firm estimates the overall market for the practice area at $11.1 billion, with EDS generating approximately $2 billion of this revenue, or 18 percent. In estimating revenue by firm, IDC used in-depth surveys and analysis, combined with data collected throughout the year about each vendor and its customers.
