SoftConnect incorporates the Centile iPBX server software solutions which can be deployed by service providers and enterprises either in a hosted configuration or an on-premises configuration. The workforce reductions affect employees in Santa Clara, Marlow, United Kingdom, and Sophia-Antipolis, France. The company plans to close its office in the United Kingdom and to implement a restructuring plan to reduce operating costs and streamline its organizational structure in France. Due to legal employment obligations in France, restructuring there will occur over the next several months, subject to the outcome of independent financing efforts being pursued. 8x8 and its subsidiaries will continue to work closely with current customers to meet their support needs," said Bryan Martin, Chief Executive Officer of 8x8. "Our products work well and are deployed in production networks, but they have not sold at self-sustaining levels. We are going to cut back our R&D efforts and provide customized products only as we get compensated," continued Mr. Martin.
