NANO ONE SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETES HIGH VOLTAGE SPINEL PROJECT

Nano One Materials Corp. has successfully completed an 18-month project developing cobalt-free high-voltage spinel (HVS) cathode material for lithium ion batteries, with the support of the National Research Council of Canada Industrial Research Assistance Program. HVS is suited to fast charging and high-power applications and is a candidate cathode material in next-generation solid-state lithium ion batteries for automotive, consumer electronics and energy storage applications.

"We have met our objectives and made a number of significant breakthroughs," said Dr. Elahe Talaie, senior scientist and HVS team lead with Nano One. "Battery performance is excellent when our HVS is tested with lithium, graphite and lithium titanium oxide anodes (LTO). As previously communicated, our innovative process can control particle size and output voltage; and it stabilizes HVS for high-temperature applications. All of these advances are critical to battery manufacturers. The project has led to two patent applications and HVS production is now ready for demonstration at pilot scale."

Nano One can make HVS and other high-performance cathodes using lithium carbonate or hydroxide, giving its process an advantage over manufacturing methods constrained to costly lithium hydroxide. HVS differs from other cathodes because it is made from lithium, manganese and nickel, without the high cost and supply chain risk of cobalt. Nano One can control HVS particle size to tailor it for energy storage or power applications and its higher voltage enables simpler energy management systems and delivers increased power at high rates of discharge.

Dr. Campbell added, "Higher volume samples are being made in our pilot and we look forward to beginning HVS evaluations with commercial interests in the new year."

Mein Favorit für 2018 ist die Aktie von Nano One Materials (WKN:A14QDY). Der Grund ist einfach: Für die Elektromobilität werden bessere Lithium-Batterien benötigt, die leistungsfähiger, billiger und haltbarer sind. All dies hat Nano One jetzt erreicht, indem Hochvoltbatterien ohne teures Kobalt entwickelt wurden, die sich für die nächste Generation Feststoffbatterien eignen. Damit sollen die Kosten für die teure Kathode um 50 % sinken bei gleichzeitiger Verbesserung der Leistungseigenschaften.

Diese Hochvolt-Batterie vereint gleich mehrere Vorteile in sich:

Die Kathode besteht aus Lithium, Nickel und Mangan (kein Kobalt).
Bis zu 50 % höhere Energiedichte als herkömmliche Batterien.
Signifikant höhere Lebensdauer als herkömmliche Batterien.
Herstellung aus Lithiumcarbonat statt teurem Lithiumhydroxid.
Das muss man sich auf der Zunge zergehen lassen, denn damit können langlebige Batterien mit doppelter Ladungsdichte hergestellt werden. Zudem kann statt Lithiumhydroxid das billigere Lithiumcarbonat in einem bei Raumtemperatur stattfindenden Prozess verarbeitet werden, sodass auch hier enorme Kosten gespart werden können.

Für 2018 werden Verhandlungen mit kommerziellen Anbietern an erster Stelle stehen. Dabei sollen die Einnahmen nicht durch Produktion, sondern rein durch Lizenzvergabe der über Patente abgesicherten Nanotechnologie erfolgen.

Aus meiner Sicht spricht derzeit nichts gegen einen Erfolg, denn mit dieser neuen Technologie schlägt man gleich vier Fliegen mit einer Klappe.

seh ich pers. so.

Wo das noch hingeht kann wohl niemand sagen, aber da ist richtig Potential vorhanden, und in Kanada wissen da einige mehr wie wir, jeden Tag gehts hoch an der TSX, Dtld. hechelt nur hinterher.

Fakt ist, daß der Akku bei EV`s der größte Kostenfaktor ist und die neue Spinel Hochvoltbatterie
die Produktionskosten erheblich reduzieren wird, bei gleichzeitiger Erhöhung der Kapazität und extrem verringerter Ladezeit. Nano One wird somit dieses Jahr fette Lizenzverträge abschließen mit Tesla und/oder Co. Wenn wir NUR 100€/Akku Lizenzzahlung ansetzen, gäbe das bei 1 Mio EV`s schon 100 Mio€ Gewinn !!
Aber 100€/Akku ist nat. viel zu tief angesetzt, da die Produzenten ja viel mehr als die Hälfte an Kosten einsparen würden, wieviel genau weiß ich nicht.....upside Potential ohne Ende...und der Grund m.E. daß die Aktie so gut performt.
Zusätzlich die Konferenz am Montag...
Wird ein extrem spannendes Jahr mit Nano One....

Nur damit man das Einsparpotential besser einschätzen kann: Ein 60KWh Akku kostet derzeit ca. 14000$ !
