Mal sehen, was die Cans nachher draus machen.

      damits keine aufregung wegen der kursstellung gibt;
      sehen)

      der aktuelle kurs spiegelt den vorgenommenen split wieder;

      was will man mehr.

      also keep

Interessanter Bericht! Microsoft seinen Gewinn steigern konnte.

October A Microsoft Market - Friday - Bill Gates to the Rescue

The financial news media is " gushing " at the numbers released after the market closed Thursday.
Microsoft Corp. lifted its full-year estimates after posting a 23 per cent rise in quarterly profit on strong demand for both computers running its operating system and Halo 3, sending its shares up 12 per cent.
The world's largest software maker beat even Wall Street's most bullish forecast with a net profit of $4.29-billion (U.S.), or 45 cents per diluted share, in its fiscal first quarter, up from $3.48-billion, or 35 cents per diluted share, a year earlier.
Revenue rose 27 per cent to $13.76-billion in the three months ended Sept. 30. Analysts, on average, had forecast 39 cents per share in profit with estimates ranging from 38 cents to 40 cents per share on revenue of $12.54-billion, according to Reuters Estimates .

“It was a huge beat. The guidance I think is pretty good for the year,” said Jane Snorek, a senior analyst at First American Funds. “This is going to be good for the tech sector.” On Friday Microsoft will help pull the market higher because its success will help the likes of Dell , Intel and others convince investors that tech is back and the profits are only now rolling. Plenty of time to get into the sector.

The Apprentice Millionaire Program ( i.e. me) has a very limited tech knowledge and is thus limited to a watchlist that we have discussed before:- and yet our U.S. tech portfolio is up 28 % in the past quarter :
      1) Nokia - our number one selection
      2) Apple
      3) Google
      4) Cisco

Watch for a positive reaction - a psychological lift to the whole market - ( well whole if you don't count financials and homebuilders and Wellcare which was subject to a police raid)

B The Fed and Ben Bernanke to the Rescue – again

Second on the help list for nervous investor sentiment - next Wednesday , The Federal Reserve is expected to announce a second ( in a row) rate cut. Wall Street is expecting a .25 % rate cut and that may be already reflected in the market. however, it will be proclaimed on all media and give comfort to the wall of worry that surrounds the dismal finance sector.
Stay away from the financials except fore our favorites - those that will find a way to repackage the garbage and charge big fees - Goldman Sachs and the two banks that will survive and thrive on the market others have had to abandon Bank of America and Wells Fargo.
I want to say that I hope that Thornburg Mortgage and countrywide survive and thrive but I am no gambler . Our motto remains that ; " The race is not always to the Swift or the battle to the strong - but that's the way to invest . "

C Oil at $90 a barrel and no one believes ?
      C 1 Suncor Energy ( SU)
Suncor is hurt by the talk of the new regime in royalties ( taxes ) Alberta will impose; Alberta is raising energy royalties starting in 2009, but the government backed off recommendations for more aggressive increases that had been assailed by industry. Royalties could bring Alberta $1.4-billion more in 2010, the government said Thursday. The figure is less than the $1.86-billion increase an independent panel recommended in a report issued last month.
However, industry will likely be upset by the new rates, given that the government is adopting about three-quarters of the recommended increases.
In the oil sands, the new system involves a sliding scale of royalties. At current oil prices, the initial rate is 5 per cent before construction costs are recovered, followed by 33 per cent. That compares with 1 per and 25 per cent now.
A major unanswered question is the state of Syncrude Canada and Suncor Energy, the oldest oil sands miners, with special one-on-one deals with government. Government said over the next three months it will work on a deal to transition Syncrude and Suncor to the new rates.
Oil and gas companies said the full recommendations could spark an economic “catastrophe” and thousands of job losses as they reduce capital spending by billions of dollars.
Suncor ( held in the AMP Portfolio did advance - but no way near what the profits are at a $90 commodity price. Stay with Suncor - in the short term the fear of the unknown will hold the stock back.
Suncor will have a second expansion running in 2008 and another expansion complete about four years later.
Don't fear paying some portion of profits - the profits will be immense.

C2 Oilexco ( OIL) - dull day - in fact Oilexco treaded water all day.
We own both because these companies are on target to build additional capacity next year and beyond next year . Our models use $70 oil - the price to day is a bonus .
As long as the expansion plans continue to increase production for Suncor -
As long as Oilexco production and drilling results continue to meet expectations -
they remain undervalued in terms of todays prices.
Oilexco is a multi year story with production in 2010 estimated at 100,000 barrels.
It has no Alberta taxes because it is in the North Sea.
Of course - be vigilant . Wait for the announcement of the recent drilling.
Watch for the updated financials to confirm the Company is on track .
This vigilance is required for any investment.

D China Economy Grows - and so does its demand for commodities

BEIJING (AP) -- China's sizzling economy grew 11.5 percent in the third quarter, surging ahead despite official efforts to cool the boom. China's growth rate put the nation on track to overtake Germany as the world's third-largest, according to data reported on Thursday.
The growth rate from the same period a year earlier exceeded forecasts but was below the 11.9 percent reported in the previous quarter. China's economic growth was driven by a double-digit surge in exports and soaring investment in factories and other fixed assets despite repeated increases in interest rates this year.
Growth for the first nine months of the year was 11.5 percent, the same rate recorded for the first half of the year, the National Bureau of Statistics reported.
"The domestic economy is maintaining fast development," bureau spokesman Li Xiaochao said at a news conference.
The communist government wants to maintain rapid growth to ease poverty but worries that a runaway expansion and overspending on real estate and other assets could ignite a financial crisis.

      Copper Demand Remains Strong

Copper rose in early trade after yesterday's losses, buoyed by an uptick in the equity markets this morning, and as reports of positive Chinese imports numbers counteracted fears over slowing demand prompted by yesterday's poor US home sales data.

Shanghai copper rose slightly overnight after a sharp rise in Chinese copper cathode imports of 17 pct month-on-month," said analysts at RBC Capital Markets. China is now the world's largest market for copper, with the US taking second place. Continued strength in Chinese demand for base metals is expected to keep prices well supported in the medium term, even as US consumption falls.

      E. Central Listing - Apprentice Millionaire Program Portfolio

I receive the emails each day asking for a central listing.
      Too much like work !
I trade for a living and that means being on the computer six hours a day.
In addition I have to keep my own records and write this blog. The tech side of putting it up is the work of my daughter and I can't ask for additional tracking on top of what she does for the blog four or five days a week.
      AMP Portfolio Lists
I have started the seminar material which will have the portfolio selections and background information and strategies. That frankly , is so much work I wish I hadn' t promised it - it will be available in writing for those at the seminar and for those of you who have ordered the material.
In the meantime I do try and write in the blog , when I have added or sold a stock - i.e. to designate it as added to the Portfolio or Watchlist.
But after all this is a stock market blog - if you have been profiting with the selections you have enough to order a set of materials for $35 - use the form available in the upper right hand corner of the margin " Registration form ".

F Something is up at Thompson Creek ( TCM)

OK, I have no direct knowledge BUT their stock is performing - up about $7.00 in the last month after having been subject to profit taking. Showing strength each day and today when the market is essentially flat up again.
The moly producer has a lot of cash and must expand or face a takeover.

      G Solar Power - Timminco ( TIM)

When the price of oil rises the alternatives start to look less expensive and even rational and respectable.
Timminco ( TIM) has sold out the capacity of its new plant . It has yet to announce the companies that have contracted the supply - and respectable names will attract attention when that occurs.
The stock does not reflect the anticipated earnings ( $2.50 a share ) or the high tech multiple the company will earn as it approaches production.
Again - on Thursday ( Octobe 25) the shares did nothing more than martch the market biut they will lead as they have done most of this past year.

H Save Your Money - Pay More (Seminar Preview )

One of the principles of the AMP success - Save Money by Paying More

Today you can reasonable suppose that the largest U.S. home builders will turn the corner.
The housing/mortgage/sub-prime crisis is actually a small part of the U.S, housing picture, and in time :
      1) the excess inventories will be sold - at a discount - but sold and then
      2) prices will recover - after the foreclosures are sold at a discount
      3) mortgage rates will drop , as the Federal Reserve cuts rates to keep the economy moving.
      4) the new family formations and the expanding population need homes - plain and simple.

So there are reasons for optimism.

The key for investors is Benjamin Graham's " margin of safety" - and don't confuse a cheap stock for a good stock. What safety is there in buying today - if you don't know if the housing crisis will last several more years , or if one ore more of your list of builders will fail entirely ?
Perhaps then the margin of safety is to buy AFTER the market has recovered - not seeking to buy when the time is the darkest - but when you can see the sunshine.
If you have not held off you now own -a portfolio of stocks that are not making any money.
That money/portfolio has trapped your capital -is preventing you from owning stocks that are rising.
I believe its better to pay a few dollars more and own shares in companies that are in a valued sector and offer more than a reasonable chance for real gains - without the risk of Chapter 11.
