      Carnarvon Petroleum Limited

Carnarvon Petroleum Limited (“Carnarvon”) is a Perth based company listed on the Australian Stock Exchange. The Company’s principal activity is oil and gas exploration and production.

In December 2005 Ted Jacobson joined Carnarvon as a director and Chief Executive Officer. This appointment followed changes to the Board including the appointment of Peter Leonhardt as Chairman and Ken Judge as a non-executive director.

Ted Jacobson brings to Carnarvon his 36 years technical and commercial experience as a petroleum geologist/geophysicist. He was co-founder and technical director of Tap Oil Limited where he oversaw the company grow to a market capitalisation of $400 million.

Peter Leonhardt was formerly Chairman of Voyager Energy Limited prior to its successful merger with Arc Energy Limited. Ken Judge is an international businessman with extensive interests in mining and oil and gas companies. An active and capable Board provides an excellent blend of oil and gas, finance, commercial and legal experience.

Carnarvon’s immediate objective is to create value from the production and exploration opportunities in its 40% interest in the Phetchabun Basin oil fields and exploration concessions in Thailand. Together with new joint venture partner and operator, TSX listed Pan Orient Energy Corp. (POE), Carnarvon is undertaking an extensive work programme including 3D seismic and a mix of development, appraisal and exploration wells to fully evaluate and test the field.

The longer term objective is to build Carnarvon’s asset base from exploration success and cash flow self sufficiency and be widely recognised for excellent technical credentials.

At the same time as Carnarvon develops its Thai interests new exploration and development opportunities are being actively canvassed with a principal focus on oil prolific basins in Asia and Australia.

ANNUAL GENERAL MEETING 29 NOVEMBER 2007
      CHAIRMAN’S ADDRESS
“Carnarvon Petroleum achieves significant producer status”
The two years since I first addressed shareholders at an AGM and Ted Jacobson was appointed
to lead the Company has been a period of exciting transformation and significant achievements.
The groundwork undertaken to establish a sound platform for future growth and the exploration
plans that I outlined to you last year have, over the last twelve months, delivered outstanding
results in the field. The following operating highlights illustrate Carnarvon Petroleum’s strong
position for further development and growth.
      • Current well deliverability now totals about 6000 bopd and growing.
      • Field infrastructure is being rapidly developed to expand production from the current
level of about 4500 bopd through to an expected 6000 bopd by the end of January
      2008.
      • Two rigs are under contract for continuous drilling with 20 to 30 wells to be drilled
      over the next year.
      • The current drilling programme is self–funded from existing cash flow.
      • Significant reserves development is in progress.
      • A strong, proven and value-adding management and technical team has been
      established.
      • Major exploration upside has been identified in our properties.
Ted Jacobson will expand on these points in his presentation.
It is my belief that a company’s future is very largely dependent upon the quality of its people.
Under Ted’s leadership we have continued to build on our high quality team with excellent new
technical appointments at a senior level. The team’s skill sets and experience provide a company
of our size with strong capabilities to assess new ventures and make us a desirable joint venture
      partner.
At the same time the strong working relationship with our joint venture partner in Thailand, Pan
Orient Energy Corp., a Canadian company listed on the TSX exchange, has been an important
element of our success in the field. I would like to acknowledge the achievements of all of the Pan
Orient team in delivering the extensive exploration and development programme within such short
      timeframes.
Since the end of the 2006 financial year the Company has raised about $16 million of new equity
by way of placements and a share purchase plan, principally to fund the ongoing exploration and
development programme in Thailand. The manner in which we have progressively achieved
planned development milestones has enabled us to strengthen our institutional shareholder base
      in this process.
It is particularly pleasing to see that the investment of these funds has been translated into a very
significant increase in the Company’s share price and market capitalisation to around $340
      million.
On behalf of shareholders I thank the Company’s team and my fellow directors for their much
appreciated contributions and support during the year.
I am sure you will also join with me in acknowledging the outstanding leadership role played by
Ted Jacobson in leading the development of the Company to its current strong position during the
action-packed two years since his appointment.
In conclusion I and my fellow directors look forward to another exciting and productive year in
      2008.
      Peter Leonhardt
      Chairman

What is the secret of this rising cvn stock?

"Since beginning of September 2007 I have CVN on my watchlist and since that time CVN has gained 234 %!!

I still watch nearly every day and I can see with a few exceptions only one direction:

      U P!!

But stock is not always up, what is coming up must also come down some day, and I ask, what could be the secret of this oil and gas explorer?

Is it because the high oil price or an unlimited oil potential or a superb management?

Of course I regret that I did not buy in September and now I have the feeling there must be an end in growth but every day I look at the development of CVN I can see an incredible strength.

This is really amazing and may be someone in this Forum can give me some answers.

I also ask myself, if it would still be worth to buy some shares even after this big gain.

I plan to open a new thread in Germany on wallstreet-online.de Stock market forum, nobody seems to know CVN here in Germany.

May be I find some useful reasons to invest in CVN.

Also a very promising stock is Bauxite Resources Ltd ASX: BAU which was listed only in October 2007. I got shares early and made a good profit and will stay long because BAU
will also be very successful to my opinion.

Good luck to all CVN investors and I am looking forward to get some insights from down under.

      Regards from Germany

      Jens

Hier die Antworten und Meinungen zum Potential von Carnarvon Petroleum Limited:

their secret is they can't stop finding oil lol

and they are only at the start of their story...

      ***********************************************

they've been successful at finding oil mate, and it looks like they will find a lot more. It's no more complicated than that.

      ***********************************************

Here's a thought, each time this stock has retraced it has rebounded and blown through it's previous highs each time.

      1. 8/10 the stock peaked at 38c subsequently retraced to .285 before reversing and breaking through it's previous high by 14c

      2. 25/10 stock peaked out at .54 before retracing slightly to .465 before reversing and breaking through it's previous high by 12c

      3. 12/11 stock peaked at .66c before retracing to .445 and bouncing off the 38.2% fibonnaci level, before breaking through it's previous high by ??c (considering it usual pattern could be anywhere from 12 -14c

So in theory that could give us 18c movement from here if you were to buy in at 62... in other words a new high of approx 80c or 29%, before the next consolidation phase.

      *****************************************************************

      This company looks all good, except for 2 concerns;

      (1) Volcanic reservoirs have a habit of quickly watering out;
      (2) Do you trust the military government in Thailand?

I didn't buy because of my concern the government might nationalise a successful company ... probably over the top, Thai military government has already burnt their fingers on economic policies, i don't think they'll try that again .. unless world economy hits a wall.

Wells producing greatly can water out just as quick, the more wells they drill, the less effect any watering out will cause.

So overall, a missed opportunity on my part .. but there are other cheap specs out there with better potential.

      Bg.

just my opinion as a mug oil speccy. Get professional advice.

      ***************************************************************

The very essence of buying into a stock is because its earning
perspective. Even if a company makes billion in the past but no earning growth the next quarter/year, its still a dog stock only one way to go down hill.

Thats the beauty of CVN, this year they have about 10 wells drilled, 75% hit rate, a 6 bagger and maybe more by year end. So image what will happen in 2008 when we have 22 wells scheduled. Thats why people keeps buying on higher high because they are not afraid of the sp going down one day as it will be eventually pushed up by greed again & again.

Thats the strength of CVN! Until all 22 wells drilled up in 2008 and everything pans out. i am not selling single one share of CVN. This the earning growth we are talking about.

      ********************************************************************

Was relatively interested in what Blackgold had to say, but you stuffed it up with the last line in which you state that there are better spec stocks with better potential.

I bought CVN 19c so if you can give me a stock code with better return, proven reserves and future prosects, then it sounds like sour grapes.CVN is heading out of speccie into production.

      Good luck anyhow.

      ******************************************

Whilst you can never say never, Ted Jacobson mentioned at AGM that they are very confident that the volcanics will not water out for a very long time. Production initially from the fractures and then from the volcanic rock itself due to good porosity.

Both CVN and POE have mentioned that the Volcanic reseviors in their leases are a direct analog of the Jatibarang field located in Northwest Java, approximately 200 km to the east of Jakarta which has been producing since 1973. The below site has a good overview of the Jatibarang field. If CVN produced for 35 years from this field I will be very happy.

      http://www.geoscience.co.uk/geofrc/geobaseasia.html

      *********************************************************

In all fairness to those punters who are looking for a 100% increase short term in their investment ...... I would have to say that they have missed the boat with CVN. The best entry point is long gone .... You all know I am an avid supporter of CVN and have been for a while .. but the time will come soon when those who have a 4 5 or 6 plus bagger from CVN will be moving on.

The chances of it going to $1.20 SP in the short term is not wonderful and that only represents a 100% increase.

For mid to long term investors it has to be about as good as it gets in terms of results, management and future ... and I thoroughly reccomend it to those people ... but right now there are those of us who are looking at that money... and saying .. "thanks CVN...it's been a hell of a ride ... but you can't double this amount in the "short term"... and we have our eyes on others that can.... I will always keep some freeheld CVN as I do with others that have been good to me .. but I do expect that there will be those of us who will bail after this next announcement and prowl ....and/or have the research already done .. for other companies more capable of a more than 1 bagger with that capital.

What I am trying to say is that given the length of time some of us have been CVN holders .. I expect a sell off after the next ANN .. I know that HC posters represent a very small percentage of total shareholders .. and that could be insignificant .. but hell .. it's going to be a good opportunity for "medium to longs"

      ***********************************************************

Actually I believe you are right and wrong.

The next 12 months can't match the past in terms of % gains, however I would not dismiss one more doubling before the excitement is over. Then again it might not, or it might quadruple (very unlikely imo).

As I have said before, I have no intention of "moving on" while there are so many attractive targets to test in coming months. If these coming results started to imply that NSE was uniquely blessed, then I might reconsider.

Imo, anticipation of the new target drills will keep plenty of spec players with CVN, and the reserves and cashflow etc will attract a whole lot better class of investor next year. Sadly we may lose our toes in the process.

I am hoping Ted can do with CVN what HDR, TAP, ARQ, ROC etc have failed to do. This story could end up being a lot more than 40% of two permits in Thailand. It will certainly be much more than the current WB sandstone/NS/NSE.

      EL

      ****************************************************************

If the report is correct and CVN will reach around 85-89 cps in the medium to short term, then it still represent a very healthy gain for someone that is buying right now.

      **********************************************************************

      Dear Sirs

L44H-D1 RECORD PRODUCTION AT 3,940 BOPD
      L44H-D1 (Carnarvon 40%)

The deviated well L44H-D1 is now flowing at a sustained, stabilised rate of approximately
3,940 barrels per day of 35.5 degree API oil with a minimal water cut of 0.05%. The well is
free flowing through casing and tubing with a restricted choke setting of 38/64” and 26/64”
respectively. Flowing wellhead pressures on casing and tubing remain high at 280-285 psi
indicating the well has a flow capability greater than the current choked rate. Load out of oil
tankers from the well location is the determining factor in not taking production higher at
      this stage.
Thailand Department of Mineral Fuels has commented that this is the highest flow rate ever
achieved by any oil well drilled onshore Thailand.
The L44H-D1 well reached a total measured depth (“MD”) of 1,217 meters, 866 meters true
vertical depth (“TVD”), at a subsurface location approximately 700 meters north of the oil
producing well L44-H located within the central fault compartment of the Na Sanun East Oil
Field (“NSE”). The top of the main volcanic reservoir was penetrated at a depth of
approximately 1,016 meters MD (755 meters TVD) with over 200 meters measured
thickness (111 meters true vertical thickness) of the target volcanic reservoir penetrated. The
drill bit was still drilling within the main target volcanic reservoir when the decision was
made that sufficient reservoir had been penetrated and to call total depth on the well. L44HD1
is the structurally highest volcanic reservoir penetration within the NSE field
encountered to date. Total drilling fluid losses of 9,385 bbls at rates of 100 to 260 bbls/hr
were observed while drilling through the main target. Wiper trips at 1,155 meters MD and
1,217 meters MD had resulted in oil to surface. This was the third well drilled into NSE’s
      central fault compartment.
These test results at L44H-D1 confirm an oil column at NSE of a minimum of 150 meters.
Looking forward, the implications of this well on NSE field development are significant.
L44H-D1 was a highly deviated well (approximately 51 degrees) at the top of the main
volcanic objective. Based on these results, consideration is being given to full NSE field
development utilising up to 12 horizontal wells. The potential advantages of horizontal
drilling being: 1) maximum reservoir thickness penetration 2) improved access to the
extensive fracture network 3) less drawdown at higher rates, and 4) greater distance between
the well bore and the oil/water contact, likely reducing the time to water breakthrough.
      NS6-D1A SIDETRACK (Carnarvon 40%)
Sidetracked well, NS6-D1A is free flowing 35.5 API oil at a stabilized pre-cleanup rate of
615 bopd with choke setting of 18/64” on both casing and tubing. Flowing wellhead
pressures are between 150 and 120 psi and water cut is low at approximately 0.05%.
NS6-D1A is located within the south fault compartment of the NSE structural closure
approximately 400 meters north of the original POE-9 discovery well. The well penetrated
approximately 23 meters of the main volcanic target with mud losses at rates of 20 bbl/hr.
This was the fifth well drilled into NSE’s southern fault compartment.
      WICHIAN BURI-1 (DEEP) (Carnarvon 40%)
The Aztec #14 rig is drilling ahead at a depth of 900 meters after setting 9 5/8” casing at 362
metres. Drilling is anticipated to take approximately 8 days to reach total depth.
WB-1 (Deep) is targeting an approximately 220 metre thick volcanic section at a depth of
1,503 meters. This interval was penetrated by the original WB-1 well in 1988, resulting in
severe lost circulation with approximately 20,000 bbls of drilling fluid losses associated with
very high mud gas readings. Subsequent sidewall cores taken over this interval indicated oil
staining. The previous operator did not evaluate this deeper volcanic zone in WB-1 but
completed the shallower conventional F sandstone reservoir which tested oil at 500 bopd and
is still producing oil 19 years on.
      PRODUCTION OUTLOOK
Current field production capacity is now greater than 10,000 bopd gross (4,000 bopd net to
Carnarvon) with average deliveries to the refinery of between 5,500-6,000 bopd gross
(2,200-2,400 bopd net), limited by the capacity of the tanker fleet. Delivery is anticipated to
increase to 7,000 bopd gross (2,800 bopd net) in late December 2007. The use of a new
loading bay at the existing refinery has been negotiated, bringing the refinery capacity up to
approximately 10,000 bopd gross. Upon approval of the NSE production license by the
Thailand Department of Mineral Fuels, a second refinery contract is anticipated to be signed,
bringing the total refinery unloading capacity to over 20,000 bopd gross.
A number of options are being evaluated to reduce the trucking capacity bottleneck as
quickly as possible. This is a short term issue caused by the rapid success of high well
deliverabilities far in excess of initial expectations.
      CEO COMMENT
The Carnarvon CEO Ted Jacobson commented: “Once again the Na Sanun East Field has
delivered a pleasant surprise with the L44H-D1 well flowing at a record rate of near on 4,000
bopd. Although sales of oil is currently restricted to between 5,500 to 6,000 bopd by
infrastructure limitations, the operator Pan Orient is working hard to significantly upgrade
production facilities over the coming months with significant results already being achieved.
Located around 10-15 kms to the northwest, the Wichian Buri structure is separate to the Na
Sanun and Na Sanun East structures. The WB-1 (Deep) well, currently being drilled on the
Wichian Buri structure, is an evaluation of a volcanic reservoir drilled in 1988 by a previous
joint venture. The degree of mud losses and oil staining in the previously drilled well WB-1
is encouraging for possible good flow rates in this new well WB-1 (Deep).
This has certainly been an exciting year with production deliverability increasing from 300
bopd in January to current estimate of around 10,000 bopd. Carnarvon is anticipating
continued activity through 2008 with between 20 to 30 more wells to be drilled over the next
      12 months.”

      Yours faithfully
