Gippsland says project financing for Abu Dabbab Tantalum-Tin Project on track
Gippsland Limited (ASX, AIM: GIP) set out to remind investor's this morning that its ambitions to develop the Abu-Dabbab Tantalum-Tin Project were still on track.
The company stated this morning that it did not believe the recent volatility in global financial and credit markets would impact its ability to secure project finance for its Abu-Dabbab Tantalum-Tin Project in Egypt. The company added that negotiations with KfW Bankengruppe, which is owned by the German Federal Government and German Federal States, were ' in progress' with due diligence nearing completion. The development case for Abu-Dabbab has been further strengthened by the continued strength of tantalum prices, combined with its low uranium-thorium content which can be an issue for many tantalum producers.
Gippsland further stated that to the best of its knowledge it had only one US based institutional investor, International Finance Corp, which holds an 8.16% stake, which is still highly rated by Standard & Poor.
On a more technical front, the company stated that it expected to award an Engineering, Procurement, Construction Management ('EPCM') contract before the end of the year.
Moving away from Egypt to Eritrea, Gippsland confirmed that is 100% owned subsidiary, Nubian Resources, had applied for three licences prospective for copper-gold volcanic massive sulphides ('VMS') deposits. Gippsland is also 'actively evaluating' the Arabian-Nubian shield which stretches across parts of Egypt, Sudan, Ethiopia, Eritrea, Saudi Arabia and Jordon, and hosts Abu-Dabbab.

Gar nichts.
Gruß Tex
