NEW YORK, NY--(MARKET WIRE)--Feb 2, 2009 -- Yoo Inc. (OTC BB:YOOO.OB - News) , the parent company of IX Energy, Inc., announced today that it has changed its name to IX Energy Holdings, Inc. ("IX Energy") and that the Company's common stock is trading on the over-the-counter bulletin board under the new ticker symbol (OTC BB:IXEH.OB - News).

IX Energy Holdings, Inc. is a renewable energy solutions company engaged in the design, marketing and development of solar power and other renewable energy solutions targeting federal and civilian agencies. The Company's emphasis in the federal sector helps government agencies comply with mandates for implementation of technologies that support renewable energy.

Under Executive Order 13423, renewable electricity consumption by the federal government cannot be less than 3% from fiscal year 2007 through fiscal year 2009, 5% from fiscal year 2010 to fiscal year 2012 and 7.5% thereafter, and at least half of the renewable energy must come from new sources (in service after January 1, 1999). In 2007, total electricity consumption from government agencies was 193.8 trillion BTU, or 56.79 million MWh.

"The federal government's mandate for renewable energy is enormous, and we think we have established key strategic relationships that will enable us to successfully service this market, which will call for distributed generation systems such as solar electric, solar lighting, geothermal, and other generation systems including fuel cell, cogeneration and highly efficient alternatives," commented Steve Hoffman, CEO of IX Energy.

Through the nine months ended September 30, 2008, IX Energy recorded revenue of approximately $6.5 million. The majority of revenue for 2008 was derived from the federal agency sector.

Hoffman added that, "We work closely with our customers to ensure that they use less energy, pay less for energy, and secure reliable, high-quality power for their critical operations. Federal agencies are seeking ways to save energy and use renewable resources and we are committed to providing solar, and a platform of related renewable energy solutions to enable them to meet these goals. We will continue to be opportunistic in other key markets as well including commercial and select utility scale projects."

      Recent Operational Highlights

-- Executed 5-year agreement to manufacture solar modules marketed to
U.S. government customers. The first 24MW fabrication facility came online
January this year and is expected to commence production in February. IX
Energy will begin selling its initial line of completed products from the
first facility to U.S. government customers in the first quarter, 2009.

-- IX Energy supply partners include Q-Cells, Tynsolar and Gintech.

Mr. Hoffman leads an experienced management team with deep experience in the energy industry. He has extensive leadership experience in solar energy, HVAC systems, automation and energy management systems. IX Energy develops more cost effective solar array for Carports

Posted by Debasish Choudhury on 22 May 2009 at 13:58

IX Energy Holdings, Inc., a company engaged in the development of solar power and other renewable energy solutions for the federal government and commercial markets, announced that as part of its R&D program for BIPV (building integrated photovoltaic) applications, it has developed a more cost effective solar array for carports and parking lots.

Carports are increasingly attractive as platforms for providing solar generated electricity. Typically used for sun and weather protection in public and corporate lots, these structures offer great potential for solar power generation. Carports, typically situated in unshaded areas, offer some of the most attractive real estate for rooftop solar projects and, with the likelihood of increasing use of electric vehicles, they offer a natural fit for future recharging waystations.

Parking areas represent a largely overlooked asset in the U.S., and IX Energy estimates that there are close to 5 billion acres of parking lots in the country. Solar rooftop arrays for carports and parking lots are an ideal way to deliver a grid-tied, or distributed, renewable energy solution to buildings and commuters, and IX Energy's focus has been on improving conventional structural BIPV solutions that rely on postal beams. A breakthrough in reducing the structural cost of solar carports would represent a key step in releasing the value embedded in these facilities.

IX Energy's Chief Technology Officer, George Weiner, who is an architect, is developing a more durable, flexible, and cost effective solar array infrastructure for solar carports. To do so, he is taking a cue from the historical evolution of bridges and following the same incremental process of doing more with less, and applying that to solar parking arrays.

Weiner noted that development of a lower cost, modular infrastructure would be a game-changer in the use of carports for solar photovoltaic power. Conventional carports solve a basic problem of protecting vehicles, but their construction cost limits use as solar platforms, which require an attractive return-on-investment. Additionally, he added, "Parking lot facilities vary on a site specific basis; points of support of the carport structure typically have to vary spans based on the width of parking spaces. This is a drawback of conventional carport construction."

IX Energy calls the new technology HASP, or Harness Solar Power, which offers a long span, aesthetically appealing structure that is lower in cost than conventional carport structures. Most existing carports span between 2 to 4 cars, which means a beam system has to span a range of 30+ feet. IX Energy's cable system allows for expansion of the parking array length by two to three times that length, using the same principles of mechanics as bridges.

IX Energy's BIPV design for carports and parking lots is a universal system adaptable to varying site conditions that will support additional renewable energy elements like wind power generators and combiner boxes to drop power poles for electric vehicle charging stations. The company plans to roll out the design for both the commercial and federal government markets later this year.

IX Energy Holdings, Inc. (OTC.BB: IXEH), a company engaged in the development of solar power and other renewable energy solutions for the federal government and commercial markets, announced that it is teaming with Legatus6 in a procurement 100% set-aside for service-disabled, veteran-owned, small businesses (SDVOSB) to design and build a solar rooftop array at the Veterans Affairs (VA) Ann Arbor Health Care System in Michigan.

The system is part of a Veterans Affairs-wide push to use renewable energy under an order signed by President Bush in January 2007 to improve energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 3% per year or 30% by the end of 2015.

Steve Hoffmann, CEO of IX Energy, said, "Hospitals are significant consumers of energy, with large carbon footprints, so they are a good fit for clean renewable solar power. In addition, VA hospitals are also under a broader federal mandate for government agencies to increase their consumption of renewable energy, which is creating more demand and opportunities in the market. We are pleased to work with this VA facility in its effort to increase its use of renewable energy."

Hoffmann added, "This is the first solar project we have won through our recently announced teaming agreement with Legatus6. In addition, we are seeing an increasing level of opportunities in the federal markets for facilities and agencies responding to mandates for renewable energy and reduction of their carbon footprints."

Robert Bowe, CEO of Legatus6, said, "We are pleased to have been selected to deliver this solar array to the VA medical center in Ann Arbor. The Ann Arbor VA has taken the lead in terms of its commitment to renewable energy, and as renewable energy is a core offering of Legatus6, we are looking forward to helping it achieve its energy objectives."

      About Legatus6

Legatus6, founded in 2007, is a Service Disabled Veteran Owned Small Business (SDVOSB) providing professional services including program management, intelligence support, information technology, logistics, base operations, and staffing to the federal government.
