email the content item print the content item

SunWize Technologies Inc. has been selected as SANYO's launch partner for the new SANYO HIT Power N Series module. SunWize says it will be the first North American partner to carry the high-efficiency SANYO HIT Power N Series module, featuring hybrid HIT technology, beginning in early April.

"SunWize has the unique capability to launch the HIT Power N Series simultaneously through its large nationwide network of independent installers and its rapidly growing SunWize Systems team," says Yoshinori Kaido, vice president at SANYO Energy and head of SANYO's North American solar business. "This fact, coupled with seven years of strong and proven partnership, made SunWize our best choice as a product launch partner."

The HIT Power N uses the same HIT technology as the HIT Power BA19 line and HIT Double. HIT hybrid solar cells are composed of monocrystalline wafers surrounded by ultra-thin layers of amorphous silicon, enabling them to generate maximum power per square foot, according to SANYO.

SunWize offers new residential solar financing program

Posted by Debasish Choudhury on 06 July 2009 at 13:16

SunWize Residential Power Systems, the premier installation division of SunWize Technologies, Inc., has made available to its customers a financing program that effectively overcomes one of the biggest barriers to the widespread adoption of solar: the upfront cost of the system. With this program, SunWize is now offering homeowners a higher level of flexibility, convenience, and affordability when going solar.

Available to SunWize’s residential customers in California and Oregon upon approved credit, the program offers an unsecured, same-as-cash loan of up to $45,000 for solar installations. With no principal payments or interest for up to 12 months, the financing provides homeowners sufficient time to realize the 30-percent federal tax credit for residential solar energy systems and apply it toward the loan*.

“While a SunWize Solar Electric Solution dramatically reduces electricity bills and saves thousands of dollars, many people do not have an easy, cost-effective option for the initial cash outlay,” explains David Kaltsas, Executive Vice President at SunWize. “In addition to offering one of the highest limit solar loans in the market, the program gives homeowners a year without payments and interest to realize the savings of their system and receive their tax credit. Unlike many other programs, funds are readily available with applications taken over the phone and credit decisions typically made in minutes. SunWize listened closely to the needs of homeowners and developed this program so more homeowners can take full advantage of the federal solar incentives.”

The Energy Improvement and Extension Act of 2008 entitles buyers of residential solar electric systems to a tax credit of up to 30-percent of the net installation cost. While a substantial incentive, most homeowners will not realize the tax savings until 2010, when they file their 2009 taxes. SunWize customers who participate in the residential solar financing program have up to 12 months without payments or interest accruing, during which they can realize the tax credit and apply it toward the loan*. At the end of the year, homeowners can either pay off the loan in full or convert it to a fixed interest installment loan.

The financing program is administered by Lyon Financial Services, a leader in home improvement loans and funded by EnerBank USA. Homeowners interested in learning more about the new financing program offered by SunWize, view details on the program at www.sunwize.com.

SunWize Commercial Power Systems completes largest PV installation in Texas

Posted by Debasish Choudhury on 30 July 2009 at 14:16

SunWize Commercial Power Systems, the commercial installation division of SunWize Technologies, Inc., recently completed a 337 kW DC solar electric system for the Department of Veterans Affairs (VA) at its Dallas Medical Center. The installation is the largest photovoltaic (PV) installation in Texas and the second major project completed by SunWize for the VA in its effort to utilize renewable energy and improve energy efficiency.

The Dallas VA Medical Center system is expected to save the hospital over $62,000 in annual electricity costs. It consists of 1,728 SANYO HITTM PV modules and is one of the highest efficiency PV systems available.

“I appreciate the diligent project and construction management of SunWize. Nobody has worked as hard as SunWize to address my requirements,” states Rick Hart, Energy Manager at the Medical Center. “Moreover, I am glad for the careful, conservative approach to structural engineering that SunWize has taken. In the May 2nd ‘microburst’ storm that destroyed the Dallas Cowboy training facility and uprooted trees and light poles here at the hospital, our rooftop PV system stayed put.”

Federal agencies are under executive order to increase energy efficiency and reduce greenhouse gas emissions by 3 percent per year or 30 percent by the end of 2015. In response, the VA developed a comprehensive department-wide energy management plan and surveyed its major facilities for their renewable energy potential. Its evaluation identified the Dallas and Loma Linda, Calif. facilities as the top candidates for PV systems. SunWize Commercial Power Systems was awarded and successfully completed both contracts.

“We are pleased and honored to once again work with the VA in its renewable energy push. The Medical Center in Dallas is the second of what we anticipate will be many projects for the Department of Veterans Affairs. Completing the largest PV system in Texas again demonstrates SunWize has the unique ability and resources to successfully complete solar electric systems across the country,” comments David Kaltsas, SunWize Executive Vice President.

SunWize launches new Grid-Tie system product line incorporating the SOLON Blue 220/01 series

Posted by Debasish Choudhury on 06 May 2010 at 09:29

SunWize Technologies, Inc., the industry’s premier provider of solar electric solutions, has incorporated the new Solon Blue solar module into over 40 new configurations of its popular Grid-Tie System packages. These systems are available for immediate delivery from SunWize facilities in Kingston, NY and Rancho Cucamonga, CA.

SunWize Grid-Tie System packages are pre-engineered, complete residential and small commercial solar solutions that come with permit-ready documentation and a comprehensive installation manual. They are ordered with a single part number and can be shipped from stock, free of freight charges, direct to the installer’s shop or customer jobsite. SunWize Grid-Tie Systems are available in a wide range of configurations. The new additions to the product line feature the polycrystalline SOLON Blue 220/01 230 W solar module combined with UNIRAC SolarMount™ racking (or without racking) and industry leading inverters from Fronius, SMA America and Schneider Electric (formerly Xantrex).

The new SunWize Grid-Tie Systems with the SOLON Blue 230 W modules provide solar installers high quality at an extremely competitive price point. The 230 watt SOLON Blue is a highly efficient polycrystalline solar module (module efficiency of 14.2 percent). It is ruggedly constructed, incorporating strong 4mm solar glass with a twin-wall frame for ultra high load capacity. With its proven German design and state of the art U.S. manufacturing, SOLON Corporation strives to deliver the highest quality and most reliable solar solutions on the market. The quality of the SOLON product is reflected by its unmatched 10-year workmanship and 25-year performance guarantee warranties.

“Traditionally, residential solar electric systems involve design, documentation, sourcing of individual components, receiving, staging and one-of-a-kind on-site installation. This approach is relatively complex, prone to error and time consuming,” explains David Kulik, president and CEO at SunWize. “SunWize Grid-Tie System packages are a simpler approach that save installers of solar systems substantial time and money. Moreover, because of the significant engineering and expertise SunWize has embedded in the product, installers can be confident they are providing their customers with solar electric solutions of the highest quality and reliability.”
