Bravada Gold (TSXV: BVA) has kicked off fieldwork at the Highland gold-silver project, located in Nevada’s Walker Lane gold trend.
In a press release, the Vancouver-based miner said the 2020 Phase 1, $250,000 exploration program is being conducted by its own team but will be funded by option/JV partner OceanaGold US Holdings, a wholly-owned subsidiary of OceanaGold Corp. (TSX: OGC) (ASX: OGC).
OceanaGold may earn up to a 75% interest in Highland after expenditures of $10 million
Bravada said the campaign is necessary because most of the property remains untested due to poor outcrop exposure and extensive shallow gravel cover.
“OceanaGold’s 2019 work program focused on the eastern portion of the property where minimal erosion is indicated by the presence of extensive sinter.
Potentially high-grade gold mineralization may lie beneath sinter as indicated by widespread gold anomalies in surface samples,” the media brief reads. “Combining OceanaGold’s 2019 work with pre-Bravada shallow drilling and Bravada’s previous mapping and sampling in the area has resulted in the identification of several attractive target areas.”
The miner said that fieldwork began with staking 29 new claims, increasing the property to 192 claims that occupy 1,554 hectares. The next step would be detailed targeting, which is planned prior to permitting drill sites. Once the permits are received, the company plans to drill one or two core holes.
However, “timing of that work will be subject to safety restrictions related to the covid-19 pandemic,” Bravada said.

BRAVADA GOLD CORPORATION CLOSES FIRST TRANCHE OF NON-BROKERED PRIVATE PLACEMENT
Bravada Gold Corp. has closed the first tranche of its previously reported non-brokered private placement by issuing 8,105,000 units at a price of seven cents per unit for gross proceeds of $567,350. Each unit consists of one common share and one share purchase warrant exercisable to purchase one additional common share for a period of four years at an exercise price of 12 cents per share. Securities issued pursuant to this tranche of the private placement, including common shares and share purchase warrants, carry a legend restricting trading of the securities until Sept. 14, 2019. Finders' fees and commissions may be paid by the company in relation to the units sold in this offering.
Net proceeds from the private placement will be used for exploration costs of, in order of priority,
1) an initial drilling program on the SF property,
2) geophysical testing at Wind Mountain,
3) property maintenance fees, permitting fees and associated ancillary costs, and
4) certain accounts payable and working capital.
President Joe Kizis commented: "Closing this first tranche now allows Bravada to post our permit bond, purchase drill supplies and construct drill sites for our upcoming program at SF. A reverse-circulation drill rig is scheduled to arrive in late June. SF is a Carlin-type exploration property located approximately six kilometres east of the large and high-grade Goldrush deposit, which is being developed by Barrick. The host rocks and structural setting at SF are similar to Goldrush. We expect the final tranche to close soon."
