Das versteh ausser mir wer will.

New electricity tarrif to be introduced next month
The Energy Regulatory Commission of Mongolia announced last week, that the electricity tariff will increase next month.

The new tarrif will start on August 5, which will introduce a monthly base fee.

According to the Energy Regulatory Commission, Mongolia’s energy sector faces a loss of over 60 billion MNT each year. The statement said that if the electricity tariff is not increased, the industry will not be able to sustain itself with heavy financial losses.

For the past two years, the electricity tarriff has been unchanged. The current tariff charges different rates for ger district residents living in Ulaanbaatar and apartment residents in the cities and provinces. For residents consuming less than 150 kilowatts a month, ger district residents in Ulaanbaatar pay 71 MNT per kilowatt, whereas apartment dwellers in the soums, provinces and cities pay 74 MNT per kilowatt.

The new tariff will charge all consumers 79 MNT per kilowatt. Furthermore, if consumer usage exceeds 250 kilowatts a month, residents will have to pay 90.85 MNT per kilowatt. The old tariff for exceeding 250 kilowatts a month was 76-79 MNT per kilowatt.

Electricity prices for mining companies that tap into the central grid will rise by as much as 30 percent, according to the Energy Regulatory Commission’s statement.

The mining companies are using most of the energy in the country, around 40 percent of the total,” S.Otgonbayar, chairman of the commission, told Bloomberg. “So instead of increasing the price for citizens, we have decided to pass the biggest part of the cost increase to the mining companies.”

The cost of electricity at peak times will rise 30 percent from current rates, with the average price increase at 24.86 percent, said Sereejav Tsetsgee, the head of the Energy Regulation Commission’s regulation department.

The rates will not apply to mining companies that source electricity from outside the central grid.

In addition to the rate increase on mining companies, businesses across the country will see their electricity costs rise by an average of 18.32 percent, Tsetsgee told Bloomberg.

In addition to electricity rates, the heating rates for apartment residents will also change in August. The new tariff will charge a base fee of 3,000 MNT for consumers living in apartments under 40 square meters, 5,000 MNT for 40-80 square meter apartments, and 10,000 MNT for apartments 80 square meters and up. The heating rates will remain the same, only the introduction of a monthly base fee will be added, said officials.

Aber meine Hochachtung für ihn steigt ins Unermessliche. Es ist ihm tatsächlich gelungen, den Kurs nach oben zu hieven.

      Weiter so, hagadi.
