Some more extracts from reports: Imagine if POET should succed
The problem with GaAs, InGaAs, carbon nanotubes, graphene, and any number of exotic materials that we cover on ExtremeTech, is that they’re trying to replace the most advanced technology in the world. It is not hyperbolic to state that hundreds of billions of dollars have been poured into CMOS R&D; maybe trillions. For these silicon replacements to even stand a chance, a similar investment will need to be made — and put simply, there is probably only one group in the world who has the requisite time or resources: Intel. We don’t even have definitive proof that the new materials will scale much further than silicon — so we’d be plowing billions of dollars into something that might only get us another few years of Moore’s law.

Worst case scenario...

Many of us talk about best case scenario on here, $70 club and whatnot, but I wanted to flip it around for once and I think why will become clear and actually comforting. What's the worst case scenario in your mind? I was discussing this today with a friend and they asked what do you think the worst case scenario is from what you know? I hadn't totally thought of it, but I realized once discussing my worst case scenario it isn't that bad! Lol Don't jump on me saying I'm being negative here I'm not. I think it's a great question because it puts things into perspective. What we know is parts of POET have been validated on industrial scale by BAE. What that means to me is POETs IP is worth something no matter what. We know they have NDAs with multiple companies looking at the technology. Again just getting the IP infront of different companies provides possibly more potential value. Hopefully you get where I'm going with this, because I honestly don't want to type much more. My point is where we stand now and what we know, my worst case scenario is we get bought out cheap or POETs last option is selling the IP. Again this is WORST case scenario so don't go crazy on me, I don't say anything about what I think is going to happen because I'd be accused of being a pumper and $70 is nothing in my opinion. But think about it, if your worst case scenario is similar to mine I think we still make money even if you're over a $2 average sp. If you look at what we've learned the last year I believe we've been significantly derisked. I think that's why Sheldon and Pintree have continued to load up. To me there is very little risk at these share prices even in my worst case scenario. Just a way to bring some comfort to some of you nervous sheep. Haha Hold on and enjoy the ride because I think we're in for a wild one over the next 12 months. Copetti pretty much smacked us in the face with it in the interview. But sleep good at night because I believe our money is safe and we'll end up with either a nice little profit all the way up to big time early retirement type money. I just find that comforting. Just my thoughts.
